Stuck on I-90, we used our roadside assistance service to call for help, and they dispatched Hampshire Towing. Dispatcher Kayla did a great job keeping us informed about the arrival of Alex, the tow operator. Based on our situation, he did the best he could to help us out. Due to the distance from our home to their shop, we decided to transport the car to Pleasant Street Auto for repair. On Monday I spoke with Steven to discuss the situation, and he was very thorough and analytical as he listened to my story leading up to the car breakdown. The shop was able to repair the car Monday afternoon and I picked it up Tuesday morning. Considering we were in a bind and at their mercy, I feel that we were treated very fairly and not taken advantage of. Walking into the office to pay the bill, I could tell that they take an interest in the concerns of their customers - even offering a box of Girl Scout cookies as a "thank you"! Having a car break down out-of-state is a difficult experience, and we're grateful to Hampshire Towing and Pleasant Street Auto for their assistance! I would highly recommend their services.

Never been to a business with more hostility then this Autobody...Beware!…read more I realize after reading reviews that many customers similarly have shared this experience. Among other issues, these guys are happy to make you promises they never intend to keep just to shut you up and move you along. If you dare to be straightforward and ask them what happened to the promise when they don't deliver, they will jump all over you and heighten the situation to an argument where all their goons come out of the woodwork to argue you! Apparently when you've been around for a while you don't care how you treat any customers and that's a huge part of why reviews should be written. They are undoubtedly the all time champions of arrogance. I've seen and heard about poor business practices happening down there to several people aside from myself and it's seems like they're strangely against policy to just keep their word about following through with insurance claim issues. It's painfully obvious who they actually work for and who they are pandering to and it's not their customers! Watch out for the game they will play where they keep you in the dark about your auto claim questions (covered items in question) right up until the point they are ready to hand you your keys. The hope on their part being you won't have the either the balls or the energy to call them out on their shady business practices.. The last time I went there they never once called me with an update on my vehicle even after multiple calls on my end for updates on the situation and a promise from my ricks adjuster that they would inform me about a covered item from my insurance company. They never did however and ignored it completely! Even when the vehicle complete date went a week over their estimate they never called to inform me of any issues or reasons why it was delayed. It was "too bad" it's was just an estimate. It's a real "fuck the customer" attitude down there by the majority of the staff. A far cry from how it was many years ago when Rick was more involved.. They are now the McDonald's of Autobody's and your order is predictably never gonna be right! God forbid you stay on them and you call to get some clarity on the situation all you get is excuses and justifications as to why they don't need to keep you in the loop! Really bad business practices in that place and after a few bad experiences in a row, I wouldn't go back. Plenty of shops out there that would actually appreciate your business! Caveat emptor!

With that said I have just had the worse experience with trying to get my inspection. When arriving I wore my mask and knocked on the door for service as per the note on the door. This large man opened the door and just stared at me. So I let him know I had an appt for an inspection. Do you have your registration he asks. Yes I put it on the passenger seat (as I have always been instructed to do before). He then says every 16 yr old knows to bring it with you. I ask so you are saying a 57 yr old woman needs to be instructed like a 16 yr old. He just stares. Ok I will go get it I say, no he says, it is good you have the attitude like a 16 yr old. Then he asks, Well, do you at least have your keys. (Well obviously as I drove there!) I am very irritated by now but I want to get my vehicle done. I hand him my keys and ask do you have a place to sit and wait. He then points to the landscaped wall being soaked by the sprinklers and says I have a wall. I took my keys back and left.
