Never been to a business with more hostility then this Autobody...Beware! I realize after reading reviews that many customers similarly have shared this experience. Among other issues, these guys are happy to make you promises they never intend to keep just to shut you up and move you along. If you dare to be straightforward and ask them what happened to the promise when they don't deliver, they will jump all over you and heighten the situation to an argument where all their goons come out of the woodwork to argue you! Apparently when you've been around for a while you don't care how you treat any customers and that's a huge part of why reviews should be written. They are undoubtedly the all time champions of arrogance. I've seen and heard about poor business practices happening down there to several people aside from myself and it's seems like they're strangely against policy to just keep their word about following through with insurance claim issues. It's painfully obvious who they actually work for and who they are pandering to and it's not their customers! Watch out for the game they will play where they keep you in the dark about your auto claim questions (covered items in question) right up until the point they are ready to hand you your keys. The hope on their part being you won't have the either the balls or the energy to call them out on their shady business practices.. The last time I went there they never once called me with an update on my vehicle even after multiple calls on my end for updates on the situation and a promise from my ricks adjuster that they would inform me about a covered item from my insurance company. They never did however and ignored it completely! Even when the vehicle complete date went a week over their estimate they never called to inform me of any issues or reasons why it was delayed. It was "too bad" it's was just an estimate. It's a real "fuck the customer" attitude down there by the majority of the staff. A far cry from how it was many years ago when Rick was more involved.. They are now the McDonald's of Autobody's and your order is predictably never gonna be right! God forbid you stay on them and you call to get some clarity on the situation all you get is excuses and justifications as to why they don't need to keep you in the loop! Really bad business practices in that place and after a few bad experiences in a row, I wouldn't go back. Plenty of shops out there that would actually appreciate your business! All I can say is wow! Rick's Auto Body truly is one of the most conscientious customer service oriented company's I've ever dealt with! From the meet and greet by Jasmine at the front desk; Susan and Lisa who professionally piloted my service experience from drop off, interim progress report to final pick up, this was an adsolutely stellar 200% satisfactory experience! I was concerned at first by an initial 2.5 week pick up estimate for completion. I was called Tuesday of this week and told that my car would be ready for pick up today which which was less than a week after dropping it off last Thursday. They did tell me at first they would do everything possible to get the car back to me as soon as possible but parts deliveries can be unpredictable; hence, the original long lead time. They under promised but over delivered big time.They even detailed my car prior to pickup. Rick's is a first class company and an absolute pleasure to do business with. I recently took my IROC to Rick's for a ceramic coat. As gorgeous as she looked before; she looks even more amazing after This car is special, and I wouldn't trust just anybody with this time capsule. Rick's did an incredible job. Their staff is very professional, and I truly appreciate the extra care that they gave. They understand that sometimes.... A car is not "just a car ". It took me a while to be sold on the idea of ceramic coating... but I'm glad I got it done. My paint is protected, and my car looks better than ever . Horrible place, and I'd give ZERO STARS if possible. Receptionist was rude, a tech broke an electrical clip in my door panel, and the Operations Manager did not value my patronage. Removed the front and rear bumper, two door panels, door glass, and headlights from my car. After removal, claimed they found suspension damage. Insurance company declared my car a total loss. Instead of junking my car I elected to keep it. Ricks Auto Body refused to replace everything they took off. After collecting my car I personally replaced everything they took off and drove car for 6 hours; suspension did not fail or give me problems. Also discovered an electrical clip was torn when Ricks Auto Body took off my door panel. This torn electrical clip was never mentioned in the insurance estimate. This torn electrical clip has now rendered the door panel's buttons and electronics useless, and the cost to replace the electrical clip involves a significant amount of money. After asking the Ricks Auto Body Operations Manager why was the electrical clip broken off, I was told, "Yea, those clips get broken off sometimes when the door gets removed." Very professional Rick's, very professional. And the icing on the cake is that they failed to give me my license plates back. When I collected the car the license plates were missing. Later I called Rick's and the same Operations Manager told me, "Yea, sorry about that, it seems we forgot to put your license plates in with the car, I will mail those out to you right away." If I had more evidence, more money, and more time, I would pursue legal action against Rick's Auto Body for violating M.G.L. c. 26, § 8G, and 212 CMR 2.00. Rick's Auto Body, you cashed in your chips on my Mercedes, and I will never do business with you again nor recommend you to my worst enemy. I absolutely love Honda Civics and needed a new one before winter set in, so I set an intention of finding a brown civic with tan interior, with a CD player that works. Call me 'old school' but I still enjoy listening to CD's! After diligently searching far and wide, I found a 2013 Honda Civic with brown exterior and tan interior, with a working CD player, in mint condition! And just under 35,000 miles! The windows are tinted, and the exterior looks brand new. Levi was my first point of contact. He was very professional and not pushy like the typical salesman, something I really appreciated. Course I fell in love with the car right away. The price was within my range, so I purchased it soon thereafter. Rick offered what I thought was a fair trade in on my car. The purchasing process from start to finish with Susan was smooth sailing; went off without a hitch. There was one minor issue that I noticed on the first day I drove the car off the lot, but Nafees saw to it that it was taken care of immediately and in a satisfactory manner. And the company's advertisement about the waiting room is not overstated! Right now, the theme is Halloween and it's highly decorated with all things weird and scary. And the fish tanks definitely do add to the calming effect I felt upon walking into Rick's Auto for the first time. Our passenger side window was smashed and the window frame damaged from a break in. First of all, if you don't have an extra car at home, don't go to Rick's because it takes forever to get in. When we got in 3 weeks later and after several days waiting for the car we called and were told they were waiting for parts (they had 3 weeks to get parts and shouldn't have taken the car if they didn't already have them!) They did replace the window and frame and it looks good but when we got home the window wouldn't close as it was going up and down. We called and they said that was "an easy fix". Since they were only repairing a window shouldn't they have checked to make sure it worked before having us come in to pick it up? So we had to go right back to have them fix that. The worst thing of all is the inconvenience of using this garage. 1) only the owner can drop off or pick up the car (foolish and completely inconvenient) and 2) I called to pay the $500 we owed (our deductible) and was told it has to be paid IN PERSON and by the person who OWNS the car. Absolutely ridiculous, especially in the days of post Covid. They haven't figured out how to let people pay by phone by now?? Why do they care WHO pays for the car and HOW it should be paid??? Not one business has ever had any trouble taking my money over the phone. Also, in total a broken window cost $2000 so it was a great deal for them (they knew we had a $500 deductible). Bottom line: go elsewhere. read more

One of the worst Customer Service experiences I've ever had. Anna called me to advise me that our car was ready for pick up on a phone number that was 5 years old...states she got it from our Insurance company paperwork..WHY? NOT THE PHONE NUMBER MY HUSBAND GAVE TO THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE AS THE BEST CONTACT NUMBER TO REACH US. I was aggrevated on another level.. Suzanne called while I was at work and left a message to try a smooth the waters but the damage was already done. We work too! We received 1 call from Anna @ our home which we didn't get until after 8 pm when we got home...had we'd gotten the call on the RIGHT NUMBER earlier that day I could have picked the car up a day earlier and not had to rearrange my whole day to go pick up the keys and pick up our car after 8pm a day later. No regard for other people's time. Upon inspection during the daytime after a few rainy days...the outside damage looked ok but the inside wasn't very clean. Mats were dirty and white chalky hand prints on the back of the seats. Will definitely reconsider another repair shop next time. Back in the day...this shop used to show step by step pics of the repair being done and I definitely remember follow up calls on the progress of the repair. Very disappointed! read more

I went to Rick's Auto Body to get my car fixed after someone hit and ran it at 4am. They slammed right into my rear - hatchback door, and wouldn't shut. I wasn't sure what I was going to do or how I was going to fix it, since I only had basic coverage and without a driver, license plate or any other identifiable information, I could not get a check in the mail from the insurance company. I went to Rick's Auto Body to see how much it would cost to fix it. My car was due for inspection that week. Since the door would not shut, I could not get the car inspected. Double Whammy. When the person came out to look at my vehicle, he introduced himself...and it was Rick! What a great personality! I explained to him that before getting my vehicle, I had nothing. When my dad passed away, I got this car. This car meant a lot to me and is special due to the circumstances that lead to me obtaining my vehicle. I didn't care about the cosmetics of the car, I was worried about the safety, since this is my primary vehicle and my children are primarily put into this car. I just needed it to be safe, reliable and able to pass inspection. He did a walk around the rest of my car and saw another damage. Which I already knew about and had an insurance check to fix that, but I wasn't worried about that anymore because of the new damage, which was worse. He asked me how much the check was for and then told me to bring my car in the next day with the check. I would have to leave it for a few days, but he would fix the back door, driver's door, the tail light, put 4 new tires on and align them, so that it would pass inspection. I dropped off the car and the check and 3 days later, my car was ready. He had done everything as promised. Apparently the cost was $2.00 more than the insurance check, which he told me he wasn't worried about. He put new tires on and aligned them, put a new tail light on, fixed the back hatch door so that it would close and lock again and fixed the driver's side door, so that it would open all the way again. The dents are still there, but again, I wasn't worried about the cosmetics, just the safety of the vehicle. If it wasn't for Rick's Auto Body working it out like they did, I probably would not have a vehicle to drive right now. It may have been sold because I wouldn't have been able to fix my car out of pocket. Rick's has no idea how much they helped, but I definately recommend them to anyone out there looking for a reliable auto body shop to fix there car. I had had a lot of little dents and rust from previous fender-benders and bad body work on my 2003 BMW convertible, so I brought it to Rick's to see if they could help. I dropped my baby off and was picked up by Enterprise Rental and they drove me to the lot where I was given a car for the week. I was really missing my car so the week dragged on. On Friday, when I went to pick it up, all that waiting paid off. Rick's straightened and buffed out the front bumper, took out the rust on the passenger side door, repainted it and cleaned off the chipping paint on the rear bumper. In additional to all of that they replaced the hood ornament, cleaned the grime off of the wheel hubs and gave it an overall detailing. The results are nothing less than stunning. What an amazingly professional job they did. I don't think the car looked this good when I bought it. You can't go wrong with Rick's Auto Body. Their attention to detail is meticulous and their customer service is exemplary. You can tell by the lobby which is filled with motorcycles and the Blues Brothers statues that these guys are something beyond your typical garage. It's a place where they treat you car as if it were their own. No question in my mind, you have a customer for life. read more

I just read the other review. They are all about working with you, in addition to their quality of work. My families had pretty bad luck between accidents and auto repairs. Taken my car here for both. I've had to wait to get it in a few times because they're backed up, but it's never been for a drivability issue, so it's worth the wait. They do great body work, that's a given. I was more surprised with their non-body/mechanical work. They don't advertise it, but I've taken my car in for brake work, alignments, and simple mechanical work (tie rods, radiators), as well as window motor/regulator work. Given their front office, I expected inflated prices; however, their prices were surprising well below competitor estimates. I ended up working with Mark, and Rick on separate occasions, they were both down to earth., and extremely friendly. I told Mark I only wanted what needed to be done to pass inspection, they were able to bend one part back into place, instead of replacing for $250, so I was also pretty happy about that. Highly recommend to at least check out for both repairs and bodywork. read more

They even cleaned the inside for me, without me asking. Beyond that, the employees were very nice and helpful. I've gone Rick's in the past, they do good work, that's undeniable. But this time they declined to even look at my car when Liberty Mutual sent me to them because they claimed they got an email from my insurance company saying not to work on my car. After my Insurance company sent me there. (for a claim where I wasn't at fault...and I'm now thinking the person who hit me was also insured by Liberty Mutual) Well, the appraiser comes from behind the desk, LM told me not to look at your car. I said: "Why? They sent me here" We "Can't check the code" and I told him that didn't sound right, as it's just a squeaky window and the appraiser looked at me blankly. Later I was told be my Liberty Mutual rep that it's too small of a job for Rick's because they are booked out three weeks. Bullocks. Overall, and for the second time I found their customer service to be rather poor. read more

BEWARE!!!! I had an accident and brought my car to Ricks. They said they replaced the qtr pannel. I moved out of the area and saw there was rust all over the spot they repaired. I went out of my way to go back there to have them look at it again. They gave me some grief but said they would fix it. Not six months later I see rust yet again developing in the same exact area !!! Mind you nowhere else on this car has any rust to be found! I get hit again in the same exact spot (lucky me) and bring my car to a local autobody who tells me the quarter pannel was never replaced in fact it was factory AND there was bondo all over it!!! Now I have a big mess on my hands with the insurance company since this rust issue appears to be the result of the first accident! Thanks for the headache I now have on my hands Rick!!!! read more

I have to say I am always skeptical when it comes to having my car fixed, so I decided to try Rick's Auto Body for the first time. My car was damaged when someone failed to comprehend what that bright red octagon attached to a pole stands for. I can not even begin to tell you how thrilled I was when I picked up my car. My experience with them has been nothing short of absolutely amazing. I mainly dealt with Carlos, who is wonderful however every single person I had an encounter with was so accommodating and polite. Mike Hannify initially evaluated my car when I first got there and he promised he would take car of things for me. He went above and beyond all of my expectations and I could not be happier. The first time I used Rick's someone backed into my son's car and it had to be towed 133 miles to Springfield. They staff is extremely friendly (shout outs to Susan & Levy), so very helpful and always responsive. They keep you in the loop on the entire process. They do amazing work!!! Super excited to have Rick's Auto Body as my collision repair team! It was definitely the best decision after a collision! My truck could not have been in better hands. After calling the police and emt services. I called Rick's Auto Body where Sue, a manager, saved me. I was startled after a crazy car accident and she did everything to help me on crazy Friday afternoon in Springfield. She setup my tow to their facility, with such ease and compassion, that I felt assured I was in the best hands possible. After accommodating me with all the necessary paperwork, I soon after was setup up with a car rental. Rick's Auto Body Team left me with a worry free weekend and only one phone call left to make to the insurance company. It has been a long repair process but Carlos , a customer service representative, kept me informed with all details. I was given adequate time frames and details as to what was being done from start to finish. I also received the best interior detailing EVER! Once I received a phone call from Chuck , my customer service consultant, I was pleasantly surprised with my outcome. He went through all the necessary items that were replaced or repaired on the vehicle. The best part about all of this is there was no aftermarket parts put on market whatsoever! Everything came straight from Germany. I am so happy and I can't wait to come back hopefully just for a spring detail. My truck is Spring time ready! Thank you so much! I would not recommend this shop. Nice people, but I had a terrible experience. Communication was not good. I called five separate times; each time I was told my estimator was out or with another customer and no one else knew anything about my car. This was fine; I left voicemails and asked the receptionist to have him call me back. He did not call me back one time. I once even called twice in a day; I told the receptionist I had been having a huge problem with communication and she said she would get him the message to call me back and he still did not. My car was supposed to be done on a Thursday and wasn't done until the following Tuesday. Nice people, but the service was not good on my end. read more
