My original mechanic was outstanding--he took pride in his work, communicated well, and I had complete confidence in him. Unfortunately, after he left, my experience steadily declined. To be fair, some of what happened may have simply been a series of unfortunate events, including my engine blowing while at ACI and not with me. However, what ultimately led me to take my business elsewhere wasn't just the mechanical issues--it was the complete lack of communication. The biggest problem was dealing with the head scheduler. I called numerous times, left messages, and rarely received a response. I understand that some projects take longer than others, and I would have been perfectly fine if someone had simply told me, "We can't get to your car this week because we're tied up with another project." Honest communication goes a long way. The one bright spot was Brett. He always answered my calls and assured me he would speak with the scheduler. Unfortunately, the scheduler almost never followed up with me, leaving me constantly wondering what was happening with my car. After years of frustration, I finally decided to have the car moved to another shop. To make matters worse, the waiver they required me to sign before releasing my vehicle was, in my opinion, excessive, unprofessional, and left a very bad final impression. I genuinely wanted this shop to succeed because my initial experience was so positive. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and customer service ultimately outweighed everything else. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend ACI Dynamics.

First time using this shop. I used to bring it to the dealer because it was near work, but now with…read morework from home, I needed to find something closer. I scheduled an appointment at Auto Repairs Unlimited, to have them inspect my car for noise, I suspected bad wheel bearing. The woman at the desk was very very nice and welcoming. Maybe one of the friendliest people I've ever met. Within a couple hours after drop off, she called me to confirm, yes I had bad wheel bearings in the front, she explained everything in detail, then asked if they should proceed to fix. I said yes to proceed. Within another couple hours, they called again to say they were complete. For this job, I was without the car for about max 5 hours. I feel this was incredibly fast and reasonable for the job it was. So happy to have it back same day. For comparison, when my car was newer I would take it to the dealer where it'd take close to 5 hours for a simple oil change. The dealer would have shuttle rides etc for simple oil changes, it was always a nightmare experience in my opinion. Oil changes should be like 30 mins max. This place Auto Repairs Unlimited is now going to be my go-to place for automotive work. I had a great experience. My only gripe, very minor, is that I'm now questioning the cost of the part afterwards. I did some research after I got home, and I could have maybe gotten the part a lot cheaper through the big stores like AutoZone. But, I couldn't do the work myself. Just something I felt worth noting.

Work was done promptly, efficiently and professionally. I am quite satisfied. Will definitely go…read moreback

Within minutes, they had the car in the shop to get the job done. About 15 minutes later the mechanic comes into the waiting room to tell me that I was all set, "No Charge". I was confused at that point. He said that the bead wasn't sealed properly, which caused the slow leak. He cleaned the tire and rim, sealed it properly, and refilled the tire. They could have easily sold me a tire and I still would have been happy because that's what I expected. But Tony and his crew are an honest bunch of guys and that's why I always go there for tires.

Had a door panel switch fixed, bought 2 sets of tires from them, and had them do my belts and water pump over the years. Every time the service quotes were up front and very fair. Andy, the owner and his wife make the place feel more like a family service shop and always have made me feel like I can trust them. On the water pump job, a day later I had a leak on one of my hoses due to dry rot (not their fault at all). Brought it right back, Andy took one look at it and said he was sorry and hates to see cars come back to the shop for a second round. They fit me right in that day to fix the hose and make it right on the spot. Only charged for the hose and no labor. If that's not good customer service I don't know what is. Just bought a certified 2014 golf TDI to add to the stable. Asked on if they do full service on TDI's, and they do. This type of service from a independent shop is hard to find given the complexity of VW direct injection diesels to work on. Most shops will turn you away, but not this one. Instead of going to the local clown shop (aka Vernon stealership I bought the car from), I will have them do work on this car in the future. If you have a VW or Audi product this shop is worth checking out.

Ted and I went to look at my car and had a long conversation about my car and my concerns. we then went for a ride so i could show him exactly what i was experiencing. He picked up on a few problems right out of the gate. after our test ride we opened up the hood and Ted spent another 30 minutes looking over my car and explaining so much to me that I was not knowledgeable about. I brought it in for a new clutch job and a standard oil change. I spoke to Ted about doing a complete vehicle inspection and updating the things that were most important. I gave him the go ahead to go through the entire car and put a list together to address his biggest concerns. Two days later I received a phone call from Ted himself. he very thoroughly explained what he found with the car that should be replaced at this time. We also talked about budget. He was very concerned to let me know what things were going to cost, so there were no surprises at the end. I gave him to go ahead to fix everything that he thought needed to be fixed. He also sent me a detailed email explaining everything with price points. During the completion of the work, a couple other things came up which he called and got my permission to move forward with, that needed to be taken care of. This review is for those new to the area and/or looking for a new speed shop. I was just in that…read moreposition, and if you're anything like me you'll know half of looking for a shop is finding one that you can trust to do work on your sports car to the same level of trust you would have doing it yourself. Jannetty Racing Enterprises (JRE) recently did work on my modified C7 Z06 corvette. While it was just an alignment and tires, they did more than a great job. Even though tires and alignment seems routine, you may know that it's actually not for sports cars with wide low profile tires and in fact is how I found Jannetty Racing. I called Hunter Engineering (maker of top-of-the-line automotive shop equipment). Jannetty is one of the very few shops in the area that have both Hunter revolution (for "touchless" mounting") and Hunter roadforce (for high-speed balancing along different force/load conditions). They can handle Z06 and Viper-width tires with ease. After putting my new wheels/tires through the paces I can say this is probably the best tire job I've ever had. Even the wheel/tire package I got from tire rack online w/ the same mount and roadforce is not as smooth. The alignment proved a similar experience. Tony is the type of gentleman you hope to have straightening out your car. He's been doing it as many years as I've been alive, so talking with him was like talking with a old-school master craftsmen. He found a somewhat hard to diagnose reason for my rear cross camber being out of wack, with one side having basically a track-like camber degree while the other side more in spec. Taking care of that, he got the camber, toe, and caster all dialed in perfectly. The car tracks straight, doesn't tramline anymore, and doesn't kick under wheel spin. Outside of what was worked on, they have a large team that is clearly passionate about cars. From the moment you talked to their team on the phone, you know you are talking with folks that know the in's and out's. Ted took time to talk cars and share his thoughts on my car and related cars - only found out later he was the owner of JRE. Give Jannetty Racing some consideration since their Yelp rating is artificially low on here (their Google rating is higher, but I wanted to post my review here for that reason). Many dealers will need to have a specialized person (in my case a Chevy Vette tech) to do much of what it seems pretty much anyone at Jannetty can do. Their prices are about what dealers may charge, but if you're reading this, you're probably not bringing in your run-of-the-mill high-volume econobox cars that dealers are best setup for. Looking forward to giving them more of my business.
