We had a very unpleasant experience at this location this evening. While we were first in line to order drinks, this rude woman on staff abruptly asked if my puppy was a service animal, even though he was calmly sitting in his carrier, held by my son, and nowhere near the food. It was close to closing time with very few customers around, yet she insisted my son wait outside, which felt unnecessary and hostile. Her nasty attitude was completely unprofessional and turned us off from making any further purchases because we originally wanted to buy drinks. I've never had issues bringing my puppy in his carrier before, but her behavior and lack of basic courtesy were unacceptable. read more

When i walk into a food establishment, i expect more than tasty pastries and good coffee; i also expect the option to use a clean restroom. According to California Health and Safety Code (CalCode, Section 114276), places that serve food and drinks must offer accessible restrooms to customers. If they don't, they might break the law and face complaints from unhappy customers. I bought some baked goods and found myself needing the restroom. To my surprise, signs showed the customer restroom was out of service while the employee restroom remained off-limits to me. The staff directed me to another business next door. This policy goes against my rights as a customer and reeks of poor management. Businesses like 85 Degrees should rethink their restroom policies. Train employees better, or risk losing customer trust. read more

Every time we go here is is a mess! It is disappointing! Coffee and cakes are good, but i will not even stay there any more. Trash overflowing, dirty tables, every table that was empty was dirty. The floor was dirty as well. It was absolutely disgusting! And I've contacted then directly in the past about it and they promised it would improve but it has not! @Business Manager that responded. Actions are what's needed, not promises to do better, but actually doing better. I've to see a manager in the store--ever. Hiding in the back will not fix the issue. The issues is a poorly trained FOH team! The lack of responsibility and customer service. The lack of someone on the team to say, wow the trash is really full, it needs to be emptied! The lack of anyone on your team to say, wow, we just had a lot of customers through here, we better sweep the floor. It is the lack of real management to know that the trash needs to be emptied and the floor swept. So do not tell me that you will do better, show me how you are going to do better. And sadly, it's nit just this location. Yes, do better! Train your managers better. Set up SOPs and then hold them accountable to following them. It is not hard! read more

I'm a fan of this bakery, but I was not okay with this. I've been going to other locations for years and this hasn't been an issue for me until going to this one in Temecula. I attached pictures of the Hokkaido Milk Bun (my go to) and I bit into one with no cream in it at all. So being unsatisfied, I decided to bite into another one in hopes that it would be filled with cream. They were BOTH not filled with cream. I also attached another photo of what the bun usually looks like when it is filled with cream. It's a big difference and poor quality control. This needs to be addressed. read more

I'm a huge fan of the jasmine sea salt tea. I come to all of the 85° bakeries for my job to pick up treats from my clients and I will grab a drink for myself. This particular location could really use some healthy criticism because it needs it. It is a very busy location and even still they do manage to have almost every pastry that they have available in stock, which is wonderful. The thing they are doing wrong is the last three times I have ordered a drink I have arrived there to be told they have no Boba and I need to wait 30 minutes if I still wish to have the drink. Now I live 30 minutes away from here and I order the drink on my way to my aesthetician since this is along the route so I don't have 30 minutes to wait. It's also really inconvenient to get off the freeway drive all the way to this location just to be told that. If you are that consistently running out of Boba maybe figure out how not to run out of Boba? It's the most inconvenient thing to not be able to tell the client - hey don't drive all the way over here you're wasting your time and then proceeded to let your client drive all the way over there and waste their time. The only other thing I feel like this location could use constructive criticism for is when people come to pick up their online orders acknowledge them. Usually, I have to stand there for 10 to 15 minutes while I can visibly see people working to get drinks because they don't know that I am there to pick up an online order because they don't acknowledge you. They purposely ignore you because I guess they think you're waiting for the drink you just paid for in line? I don't know if you have online ordering having someone greet people standing at the counter at least every few minutes would be beneficial. I have to really work to get someone's attention to tell them that I'm there for an online order for them to tell me they're out of Boba. read more

I had awful customer service here. I got a drink that was disgustingly sweet. Was told the mix is premade already and so I asked to get another drink instead. The employee asked his manager and came back telling me they can add coffee shots to make the drink stronger and did not allow me to have another drink made. Pros: Amazing unique pastries. A lot of their pastries are light and not too sweet which I enjoy. I love the flavors they incorporate with their pastries such as ube, matcha, red bean, pork floss, and salted caramel. I recommend their cake slices and the cream filled hokkaido buns. Also, the prices are good. Per pastry is about $2-5 which isn't that bad. They also have a cafe area with boba. Cons: It is always packed and customers like to buy their pastries in bulk so a lot of the times most of the good pastries will not be available. If you want a restock, it would take a long time and it would be better to just go a different day. The customer service is okay. Nothing stands out with the customer service. Also the bakery at this location is pretty small and it can get really cramped in there with all the people. read more

Okay, this place is great. I usually go to another location down in San Diego, but I'm glad I don't have to travel as far to get yummy bread now! I always go to 85C whenever I go to San Diego, or whenever someone's birthday is coming up and I need to buy a cake. The cakes are awesome by the way, give them a try. Service was alright, this place just opened up so I understand if it's a little sluggish or if the cashiers aren't too experienced. Ambiance was great, actually! The entire place had a nice and cozy vibe to it. I love the decorations and everything else about bakeries. Everyone was chatty, and it smelled nice inside. Right next to an Asian market also, so +1 for convenience! I bought the milk pudding bread, a Hokkaido custard bun, the garlic cheese bread, egg tarts, a mini Basque cheesecake and the Boroh Danish pastry. Garlic cheese bread: Classic. This is at every 85C location I've ever been to. Never misses! Nice and buttery. If you like your bread savory, then I recommend this one. Milk Pudding bread: This was fresh out the oven when I got to the store, so it tasted better! I've never gotten this one before, but the person who was handing them out said it was one of her favorites. I can understand why. The bread was soft and buttery, with lots of thick custard filling in the middle. Stuffs me up a lot though. Get this if you have a sweet tooth. Hokkaido custard bun: I've gotten this one or two times before. It's pretty good, to say the least. Checks all the boxes; soft bread, sweet cream. This one isn't as filling as the Milk Pudding bread, so if you want to save room in your stomach for other things I'd go with this. Egg tarts: Also a classic. Not just at 85C, but everywhere. You can never go wrong with an egg tart. I actually prefer them chilled, so I saved them for later and put em in my fridge. Basque cheesecake: These aren't for everyone (unbaked cheesecake lovers,) but it certainly was for me. I love Basque cheesecake, so this is a bit biased. Boroh Danish pastry: This is a love letter to the Boroh Danish pastry. I love it so much. Nice and flaky, was also still a bit warm when I got there. The filling never ceases to amaze me. No matter which location I go to, the Boroh Danish is always there. And I always get it. I applaud this pastry. 9/10. Solid, solid, solid 9. read more
