We were walking around Cherry Creek Mall last night doing some shopping when we suddenly had a craving for French onion soup (yes, you read that right!). We knew 801 Chophouse had it on their menu, so off we went. I always love coming here -- the food, atmosphere, and service are consistently top-notch, and last night was no exception. I ordered the French onion soup, and as usual, it was fantastic. The filet was cooked perfectly to my order, and the cheesy hash browns were absolute fire. Honestly, if I could have just eaten the soup and hash browns all night, I'd have been in heaven. If you're looking for a great meal while out shopping, I highly recommend 801 Chophouse. They also have a really good happy hour menu in the bar area.

Went to 801 Chophouse early March for restaurant week and the food didn't disappoint. I got the 8oz steak, wedge salad, and creme brûlée. The only negatives I have to say is that the restaurant is not meant to hold a conversation. I went with a party of 2 and were sat at a table and it was so loud I had to move seats halfway through the meal to be able to interact. I also had to take stars off because although the service was great the restaurant itself was very behind with food. From start to finish our meal took 3+ hours. I get that it's a steakhouse and things are made to order but it took an hour and a half from ordering the steaks to get to our table. (Medium by the way). For this amount of time I could have left went to a different steakhouse and gotten my food.

This was a great place to spend my birthday! The server was very knowledgeable and the food was delicious! We ordered Kobe, Wagyu, lobster, oysters, and king crab. I suggest that if someone orders multiple things, like my husband and I did, to bring them out separately so they stay warm. Our lobster was so cold when we finished our steaks. We ended up not eating it. The souffle was perfect. I was craving a souffle and D Bar in Denver closed down. I will come back for the drinks and dessert!

I love coming here as a regular. They offered a 35 ounce Tomahawk for Father's Day. The service was just outstanding like usual and food of course was out of this world delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked to my temperature. Very classy as expected and just a fabulous meal. We're glad we came, Thank you again 801!

New York Strip 14oz with a few asparagus and a tiny bit of potatoes

So my husband and I wanted to come celebrate the before new year because I have a procedure at the hospital on New Year's Eve and I wanted a steak.. we've been to several steak restaurants so 801 was on my list. The ambiance is beautiful of course 801 is in the heart of Cherry creek off 1st and connected to the elaborate mall. Our reservations were at 4:30 we got there at 4:38 and were seated right away! Our seating was so intimate and nice with the Christmas decorations so pretty. Our waitress Shantell was really nice and professional and she explained all the cuts of meat and the history behind the Wagyu beef etc. We eventually ordered our meals. To the dinner: we both ordered Caesar salads which were fresh and delicious!! I don't like anchovies so my husband took mine and he said how delicious they were - oh and don't let me forget about the warm, amazing bread and butter!!! It was perfect for my salad and Coke !!! My husband ordered prime rib, I ordered the New York 14oz and we both split the asparagus and al gratin potatoes. So how was it? It was ok. The steak could have had more flavor for the price of $68 and more heat! The potatoes should be titled Crunchy cheese potatoes because the topping of crumbled cheese/breading had our potatoes dried out. I think with the steak what would compliment it if you are going to have algratin potatoes- make sure they are made with love - thin layered potatoes with amazing cheeses and Alfredo sauce, creamy and hot when served, to help the presentation as well. The asparagus weren't bad they had a little butter taste as well. For the price of $230 it should have caused me to want more! However it allowed me the opportunity to experience the steak and yet I don't crave to come back but..... but that dang on bread and my Caesar salad was the BOMB.COM!!!!! Delicious!!! Our server made sure we had enough water and beverages and she was very pleasant so that did help the experience. Off to the next steak restaurant and check it off the list to say it's nice but love needs to be in the potatoes!!!

Came here Thursday evening after arriving in Denver. Phenomenal. Great looking restaurant and has that genuine steakhouse feel. Steaks were amazing. French onion soup best I've ever had. Scalloped potatoes top notch. Wish I had room for dessert. Our server was great. I think his name was Jacob. Very nice guy and great service. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend and will be back.

I took a date here for dinner on a Thursday night. Made reservations online and we were seated right away. I don't like valet so I found paid parking in the lot nearby and the restaurant validated it so parking was free. Our waitress Anastasia (sp?) was awesome, super friendly and gave good recommendations for the Australian Wagyu steak. She presented us the different options and she helped us pick our steaks. My date got the Australian Wagyu medium. I tasted it and it was tasty but I've had better Wagyu. I ordered the 12 oz filet mignon medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I found my filet tasting delicious. We also got some cocktails and french onion soup for her and lobster bisque for me. They used real lobster chunks which was really tasty. Prices were expensive but as I expected so it wasn't actually bad. Decor of the restaurant was really elegant with a lot of Picasso style drawings of different cows/bulls. There's also a huge gold bull in the center that was a nice center piece for the restaurant.

I'm deeply grateful to everyone who sent warm birthday wishes my way. Every thoughtful word and gesture filled my heart with joy and appreciation. To my special friend, thank you for an unforgettable night out, complete with a mouthwatering steak dinner, cigars, and drinks - you truly made this birthday one for the books. Thank you very, very much. As ( Chef Big House )The 801 Chophouse is one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. The service was exceptional, the food quality was top-notch, and the behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it.

Came here for my dad's birthday on a Monday night. I made a reservation on opentable however it was fairly empty, so they were able to take us a bit early. I had mentioned in the reservation that it was my dad's birthday and they had confetti on the table, with a birthday menu and gave him a free birthday dessert. Talk about above and beyond! The front entrance was a tad weird with the curtain but I loved the vibe in the restaurant. Great for an intimate meal or business function. Valet is right out front as well. Shana was our waitress, and she was amazing! Gave us a meat tour to explain the different cuts. My parents aren't big drinkers, so this meal was all about the food. The bone marrow was quite plentiful, I didn't need a started, but I did start with the French onion soup and was stuffed. Hands down the best item we had was the petite filet and the scalloped potatoes! For three people having a starter, with three mains and two side would be enough. We had two starters and three sides which was alot and we had a ton of leftovers. *Love the fact the steak is not cooked in butter! We were very impressed and I plan on coming back for special occasions. Overall Strong 5/5 stars!

I can't say enough good things about this establishment. Brandon was a top notch waiter and provided attentive, kind and informative service. We went here for my dad's birthday and they gave us a private room and special menus for the occasion as a surprise and at no extra cost. The complimentary sourdough bread and butter was the perfect start to a wonderful meal. We chose a bottle of the Duckhorn Merlot which was great. The lobster bisque was creamy and delicious with several large chunks of lobster. The wedge salad was good but it had way too much dressing on it for my taste however the large bacon pieces on it were amazing. I had the dry aged bone in New York strip with bone marrow butter. The steak was perfectly cooked and the bone marrow butter added a wonderful earthy flavor and richness to the meat. The espresso martini was simply to die for and the chocolate soufflé was an amazing end to a great experience with its light chocolatey flavor and several delicious syrups. My family are steakhouse aficionados and they deemed this one of the best steakhouses they have ever been to in the Denver area - which is saying a lot. We will absolutely be back for special occasions and hopefully a date night here and there. Be prepared to spend big when you come here but I promise it will be worth every penny.

This is definitely a special occasion type place for me. I went as one of a small group and we were fortunate to try a few of the items on the menu: Apps: Octopus - served with patatas bravas, the texture of the octopus was just perfect and melted in my mouth. The papatas bravas supported the dish but were delicious and not overlooked Bone Marrow - looked like something straight out of a Flintstone's cartoon. So delicious with the toast points Steak Tartare - done perfectly, delicious with the mustard served on the side Salad: Chophouse Salad - underwhelmed. The ratio of ingredients just did not work Steak: Filet. I went with the 12 oz cooked medium rare and was also underwhelmed. The outside was a bit too chewy and left a burnt meat after taste. The others at my table were pleased with their selections so maybe mine was an anomaly... Dessert: Chocolate cake and souffle Both done very well and reason enough to come to this restaurant. Service: stellar throughout

If I could give a 4.5, I would, I think that's right on the money. The drinks were nice, the food was good, and the service was great! There were some very minor things that could use improvement in the food-- but I'm being VERY critical. The server was bragging about how nice and "not tough" the octopus is, so we made sure to get that for an appetizer. But it came plated a little sloppy, and I felt it to be pretty tough (not chewy), just tough. But the steaks were a highlight! We shared the filet flight. All three were very very good. One person at our table was vegan, and they catered to her very well. Her entree of a vegan risotto was actually the most beautiful plate on the table, and had some excellent flavors! The duck fat fries earn an honorable mention. They have some sugar on them, so they're sweet-- very interesting, but delicious. All in all, I had a great time, and the service pushed it over the edge. And the food was very well done, too. I'll be back here for dinner, annually, but back for happy hour more often. Thanks & Cheers! And see you next time!

However, we ended up showing up an hour before our reservation hoping to just get seated and we got in right away. Cassey was our incredible waiter and he made the night very memorable. After learning it was our first time there, he very patiently walked us through the menu and how the restaurant generally worked with serving sizes. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ambience was great and cozy. We sat on the patio and it was mildly windy but it still felt nice being kept away in a corner of downtown. Starting with the appetizers, you HAVE TO get the burrata with some bread. It's the perfect flavor combination with the texture of the bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious. The salad was also a really great refreshing balance with the heavier burrata and bread. It's such a simple salad with the most amazing flavors of pickled shallots, buttermilk dressing, and Parmesan. They truly have some of the best cheeses ever. For the mains, I got the lobster tagliatelle and my partner got the lamb rigatoni. We also got smashed potatoes to share with cheese. Everything was impeccable. I was hesitant to get the lobster dish because it's such a low chance that a lobster dish is actually going to taste as good because it's a very difficult dish to perfect but I can confidently say it's probably one of the best ones I've had. The tomato base sauce with celery and chile with the lobster is the perfect combination. I do have to say a DISCLAIMER if you're not good with spicy food it's not for you. It has a pretty strong kick throughout the eating process so do not get it if you can't handle spice. Other than that, it's one of the most flavorful seafood pasta dishes I've ever had. I tried my partners lamb rigatoni and they truly perfected the rendering of it in the sauce and it's such a perfect overall dish with a good serving for rigatoni in general. If you're extra hungry, I would get the cheesy potatoes, they are perfectly crispy on the outside and nice and warm on the inside with the perfect amount of cheese and salt flakes. To close the night, we, of course, got the tiramisu which was very well made. Now, I have been to Paris and actually had it with the best cream on earth so it won't top that. However, it is a close second and probably the best I've had in America. I highly highly highly recommend you try it out. The service is impeccable and Cassey was the best company to have around to talk about celebrations, house of dragon, and having a good night. Thanks for making my birthday a great experience!

As Texas transplants, we've enjoyed some incredible steakhouses over the years and have traveled extensively, but this was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had. We even drove up from Colorado Springs for our 18th wedding anniversary, and it was worth every mile. We started with the wedge salad, which was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor--easily one of the best wedge salads we've ever had. The warm bread service was incredible and paired perfectly with the house-made spreads. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and absolutely unforgettable. The highlight of the evening was the Wagyu steak topped with cheesy potato croquettes. It was cooked to perfection and so tender it practically melted in your mouth. Every bite was packed with incredible flavor and was one of those dishes you continue talking about long after the meal is over. What impressed us most was that every single item we ordered was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients, attention to detail, presentation, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. After reading some of the reviews beforehand, we weren't sure what to expect. In our experience, this restaurant is incredibly underrated. Our meal, service, and overall experience were outstanding from start to finish. If you're looking for a special dinner, anniversary celebration, or simply one of the best meals you'll have in Colorado, Jack's on Pearl is absolutely worth the visit. My fiancée and I came to Bastien's for our anniversary. We have a tradition of going out for steak…read moreevery year, but this time we were looking for something a little more casual than your typical upscale steakhouse. Bastien's ended up being exactly what we were looking for. The atmosphere is very old-school and welcoming. We weren't very sure how dressed up we needed to be, so I went with a casual button down and she wore a long skirt which made us over dressed compared to most in the restaurant. We saw everything from button-down shirts to T-shirts, shorts, hats, and flip-flops, so you can feel comfortable showing up however you want. We were seated upstairs, which ended up being a really cool space. With the string lights overhead and the circular room overlooking the dining room below. We started with a bottle of Oregon Cabernet Sauvignon, which was surprisingly reasonably priced for a steakhouse. It paired perfectly with our meal and was a great way to kick off the evening. For an appetizer, we ordered the roasted Brussels sprouts. They were prepared with an elote-inspired twist, featuring corn, onion, cotija cheese, and lime crema. I normally love Brussels sprouts, but this was probably the only miss of the evening for me. They weren't bad, just not something I'd order again. Every table also gets complimentary bread and butter. Nothing fancy, but it's always a welcome steakhouse tradition while you're waiting for your meal. For our entrées, my fiancée ordered the filet, and it was solid - perfectly cooked, tender, and probably my favorite steak of the night. Since it was my first visit, I wanted to try Bastien's signature 10-ounce New York strip with the famous sugar rub. I'm usually a filet person, but I wanted the full Bastien's experience. The sugar rub was fun to try. That said, if I had to choose between the two, I'd still take the filet next time. One thing that really sets Bastien's apart is the value. Every steak comes with vegetables (very small portion), your choice of potato, and your choice of soup or salad--all included in the price. That's almost unheard of at steakhouses these days. I had the loaded baked potato, which was excellent, while my fiancée ordered the mashed potatoes, and they were incredibly buttery and delicious. The value here is honestly second to none. Five stars for value alone. To top off the evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake for our anniversary. It was a really thoughtful gesture. Cheesecake isn't usually my first choice for dessert, and my fiancée isn't much of a cheesecake fan, so I ended up eating most of it--but I certainly wasn't complaining. It was delicious. If cheesecake isn't your thing, they also have other desserts available on the menu, but this one was a complimentary gift from the restaurant. Overall, Bastien's delivers exactly what it promises: a relaxed, old-school steakhouse serving quality food at prices that are becoming harder and harder to find. While we'll probably continue choosing some of Denver's more upscale steakhouses for milestone celebrations, Bastien's has earned a future visit from us. Between the quality of the steaks, the generous portions, and the unbeatable value, we'll definitely be back.

We had a reservation, and were seated within a few minutes of arriving. I ordered a dirty martini, which they also add pickled hot pepper juice to, which gives it a nice zip. They have blue cheese olives (you just have to ask for them, and it's a small up charge). The steaks come with a starter salad, with your choice of dressing. You can order your steak with any preparation, but we were here for the sugar steak we've heard so much about. Let me tell you - it did not disappoint! My steak was cooked to the correct temp (I ordered it rare), the broccoli was good, as was the baked potato. Overall, a delicious meal, I would absolutely come back (and maybe try one of their other steak preparations).

The establishment has a fun vibe and is tastefully decorated. The live dj was fun to watch and listen to. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and even the wine list. They made great recommendations for food and drink pairings. They were very attentive and friendly throughout our whole visit. The bread that is provided as a starter was light and fluffy. It came with a great whipped butter and olive oil. I ordered the lobster pasta and it was amazing. It was a little spicy for me, but the tomatoes added freshness to the bite. They added a lot of lobster so the price felt fitting. My partner got the Australian steak. The meat was very tender and perfectly cooked. We also got the Brussel sprout which were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We ordered a chocolate lava cake for dessert which was delicious. The cake was moist and melty on the inside. The berries and ice cream added a lot of flavor and freshness to it. They validated our parking for the garage next door which was a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed our visit here

After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to.
