This is one of the newest restaurant in the Chantilly area that have Nem nuong platter so it's a must try for me. 54 Kitchen grill replaces "Pho Bac" , in the same plaza as hong kong taste, CVS.... First look when I walked in is the ambiance and aesthetic of this place was very nicely decorated and brightlit and have plenty of room for a big family and big party. We were greeted right away when we walked in. Pros: Service was exceptional, we were greeted fast and served quickly. Our food came out within 10 minutes. -Chicken wings and fish sauce: Great appetizer and very flavorful. Perfect for a group of 3-4 people. -Nem nuong platter: It was okay, Not comparable to Nha Trang Restaurant in Eden (still my favorite place) , the herbs provided was lettuce, cucumber and one type of herb (tia to). This item was raved by many members of the foodie in the area so i am a bit dissappointed. Item was not on menu since they just have a soft opening menu now so you jusytgotta ask when you want to order it. The presentation was lovely though! - Vermicelli rice and egg roll and frill pork was flavorful. It does not stand out but it's not bad either. Overall, it's not bad to stop by and try it out and great for days that you don't want to cook, just doesn't stand out or in my opinion!

They've adjusted on how they make some of their dishes to be more appetizing. I would recommend their beef spicy noodle soup/bun bo hue. They have multiple locations this one is not that busy anymore since this location is the smallest one under 54 brand. They do have a full bar and 2 bathrooms one for Men one for Women. I do not recommend the beef stew there (mi bo kho)

The presentation of the food was beautiful! I wasn't too impressed with the snails and the oysters. I think it would've been better to put cheese on top of scallops instead of oysters because the oysters were a bit watery. Therefore, the flavors got washed away and it tasted a bit strange. The fish sauce was good for the rice dish but could've been saltier for the snails/oysters (the fish sauce was on the sweeter end). I enjoyed the rice dish though! Meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Bun dau sauce was good. Good and attentive service. The waiter kept coming to check on us and always ensured we were comfortable with our experience. Their Vietnamese coffee was good also. Spacious inside. There is a bar.

DoorDash'd here. I know it's a relatively new location which usually means the best chefs should be working to impress and the highest quality should be served. This place did NOT transport me back to DUHHH VIETNAM . In fact, it oddly transported me back to.....China? We ordered 3 grilled pork vermicelli plates and 3 iced coffee. The iced coffee wasn't bad at all, and a great size. The coffee was probably the saving grace from a 2 star. The grilled vermicelli barely had any pork. But the pork I did taste was very dry, kinda stringy, minimal Smokey flavor, and tasted like Chinese pork jerky no lie. It has a very strong herbally note, not the bbq smoke with lemon grass you would typically expect. The rest of the meal comes with the pickled daikon carrot that was not very pickled, raw bean sprouts, and cucumber slices. Without the star "pork-jerky", the meal was very simple, without a splash of authenticity at all. There's no cilantro, no lemon grass notes, no lime notes. The prices were on the higher end ($6 coffee, $17 pork platter). For the quality they're dishing out? Not worth it at all. Overall, I'd rate this a 2.7/5. The coffee made me reconsider the 2 stars. They gotta do better. Will not be back unfortunately.

Since my mother passed away last Dec I've been on the search for a Banh Xeo.. and I've found it here.. taste just like moms . It brought tears to my eyes eating it.. can't wait to try the other items here.. oh it's not in the menu but all for it.. they will make it

Been here multiple times to try out their food. I would say that today is somewhat disappointed. We used to love their pho but today it's kinda blended. The fish was spicy and tangy. Shrimp was either undercooked or not fresh (some of them were mushy). I have also ordered steamed oysters (ginger soy sauce), lettuce wrapped meat, vinegar beef hotpot, bun bo hue before. I think I like the lettuce wrap dish the most. The stirred fried beef dish wasn't bad too. I used to like their pho the second most but it seems like they changed their menu options. Servers were friendly and attentive. The place was pretty clean as well. I will come back again to try their food. Maybe this is just a one time thing.

Nem nuong anh Bun Dau were tasty, especially the sauces. The waiters were attentive and happy to answer our questions. Will try different dishes next time

    Bun Dau Mam Tom

It was just okay - we went during their soft opening. We got the Com Dac Biet, the pork chop and egg custard were yummy, but the shredded pork didn't taste right, something about it tasted funky. The nuoc mam was pretty good though. The Bun Dau Mam Tom is definitely an acquired taste, it had very nice plating, but my family wasn't impressed it. FYI, this dish wasn't on the physical menu, it's written on the chalkboard near the entrance along with other specials. The Pho Dac Biet was average, nothing special. They are on the newer side so I think they are still working on expanding their menu.

This newly acquired and renovated place is definitely more than the 3.7 star rating. The food offerings are amazing! Puck anything from the vermicelli plate, crabs, and the chef's soft opening menu is TDF!

There was a burger and chips option but when I requested it they told me that just don't have it. No reason why. They don't have plastic cups for kids either. We ended up getting the beef noodle soup, a noodle dish with beef and a few lamb and chicken kebabs. The beef noodle soup had no flavor / it tasted like water with chillies. The beef noodles were over cooked and needed salt or something. The lamb kebabs were chewy and the chicken kebabs were way too spicy. The wait time for the food took 30 minutes and while I am pretty patient - it was not worth the wait. The servers were non- existent and I had to constantly ask for napkins, water, take away boxes. The only time I saw them Was when I called them to order and then called to pay. They should not work in the service industry as a smile goes along way but clearly they hate customers. There was just no attempt to be nice at all and they were not very accommodating with questions. Let me not even get started on the bathroom. It was dirty and there was no loo paper. Give this place a skip. It's just not worth the time and the money you will spend there.

The portions are incredibly generous, and every dish we tried was delicious. The drunken noodles were packed with flavor, the fried rice was perfectly cooked, the Tso's chicken was excellent, and the steamed fish was fresh and beautifully prepared. The highlight of the meal was the spectacular tableside Flambé dessert--it was both delicious and a fun experience. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The owners were also warm and welcoming, adding to the wonderful dining experience. And don't skip the beer--it was fantastic! Great food, generous portions, outstanding hospitality, and excellent value. We'll definitely be back.

But what we did get was pretty darn good (if a bit pricey)! The style is much more authentic, so if you're looking for something like Hunan Cafe (Greenbriar), or that NOVA institution China King, this is different. Is it better? For the most part, yes. (But I still crave that Americanized sweet, spicy, glazey brown sauce that comes in slight variations in so many dishes). I had the hot and sour soup, Szechuan spicy fried eggplant sticks, Taiwanese rice noodles with fried tofu, and the Chengdu twice cooked pork. Everything was excellent, except....the hot and sour soup. Honestly, Hunan Cafe and China King beat the pants off this place's hot and sour soup. Here, it was a bit too sweet. It had some red chilies in it, but I could not detect much white pepper. And it's a vegetarian version, so no small bits of chicken or pork. I'd skip this the next time I order from here. But the other dishes... amazing! The noodles were light-tasting but still delicious. The eggplant was garnished with cilantro, garlic, salt, and red chili sauce. The twice cooked pork was sauteed with sliced leeks and the same red chili sauce. I think that's the fresh, zingy, spice flavor profile I like that can't be found at Americanized Chinese restaurants. Sure, China King has its place and I'll still go back there when I'm close (RIP China King Fair Lakes and Herndon). And admittedly, I go to that awful Panda chain occasionally because I never learn. The unfortunate thing is, I'll more likely go to these places than Cheng's because of the price. The pork dish was $21 and the noodle dish was $19. My total bill came to $60 before tax and tip. If I need to stuff my face with a Chinese umami bomb fast, I'm probably going to the other places for $15-30. I do want to try the rest of the menu at Cheng's, but it's going to be a drawn-out process for the sake of my wallet. I'd be remiss if I didn't include a comment from my dining partner. She compared the quality and taste of the food at Cheng's to Peter Chang's (either Peter Chang's-Herndon, or Mama Chang Fairfax). A high compliment. But she said the value is better at those places' AYCE options than what we got at Cheng's, and I agree. If you've been to none of these places, you have to try them all at least once.

I do really like the online menu, where you can see big clear pictures of each dish. Inside the restaurant they do have small paper copies of the menu (without pictures) that you can use to choose your order before entering it on the kiosk. Taste of Korea is strictly self-service. You place your order on the electronic kiosk inside the front door. You also pick up your order from the counter and bus your table as well. Water is self-service too, which is good. I ordered the B5. Sizzling Stone Pot Bibimap. It was pretty good and I especially liked the banchan that came with it. But as I mentioned, the portion size was small (and the amount of beef skimpy), though you do have the option of adding extra ingredients for a price. Some pieces of the meat did have an off-flavor. There was a cup of broth (not miso) that came with the bibimap but it had no flavor. It was like drinking warm water. JP ordered the C6. Korean Style Pork Belly. The pork belly was very good and this dish also came with banchan and broth. We also ordered the Spicy Baby Octopus. It wasn't super spicy but it had a very delicious sauce. But probably more onion than octopus. We also ordered the Chicken Bulgogi, which was excellent. However, these two dishes only came with rice, and not banchan. I doubt we will come back because of the price vs. quantity ratio.
