Amazing food. My father loves this place by his work and can eat anything due to being kosher-ish. I ordered it for me and my dad to share. We got a collection of the various pancake bites and brunch wraps and burgers that we enjoyed all day long until dinner time.
4th & State is one of my favorite vegan restaurants in Columbus! It has nice diner vibes and the service is great! Their menu has a so many fantastic options too! For breakfast/brunch they awesome sweet treats like pancake balls and s'mores French toast, and delicious savory dishes like a crunchwrap and a breakfast sandwich! For their regular menu, their nachos are unbelievable; they have an incredible vegan queso! They also have so many yummy pizza options and tons of other tasty items too! Whether you're looking for amazing vegan food or just an amazing meal in general, you should definitely check 4th & State out!
Excited for all vegan diner. We got a range of food. The menu options are all day. Good amount of food so we got 3 plates for the 4 of us. Our waitress was nice. Food took a bit to get ready, but made fresh and considering it's the whole menu they serve all day, I am fine with it. Diner is bright and not crowded. Only negative is the music is a little loud. It's EDM type music.
Every time I come here I just love it so much. It's awesome to see so many vegan items on the menu, makes it hard to choose. I honestly always come for breakfast, it's just so good. And my friend who met me this time isn't vegan but loved her vrunchwrap. I got the gluten free pancake breakfast, with those fake eggs that are so delicious, and on recommendation of our waitress (who was so friendly and helpful) got the hashbrown with the soyrizo sauce added. I loooooved it, so worth the $2 up charge. We got adult drinks this time. Delicious. I'll be back again!
one of the best experiences i've ever had! i was on a business trip and this place was right by my hotel! they were super allergen friendly (gluten and dairy!) and super knowledgeable. they were able to make my cobb salad gluten free by making the tempeh bacon on a clean griddle. the fries were also incredibly fresh and not too oily. the milkshakes (strawberry and vanilla) were amazing ! vanilla was my favorite. i will definitely be back when im in town.
Given that it is a completely plant based experience--I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of menu options. They have burgers, salads that can be made into wraps, milkshakes, and a full breakfast menu. Service is quick (maybe too quick? I felt a little rushed even though I came alone at 7:30 and they don't close until 8:30), and the atmosphere feels a little sterile to me (I think it could use more color), But still, I'm giving it a 5/5, as the food was delicious and I don't eat a ton of vegan food.
"Family Owned Vegan Restaurant in Downtown Columbus, Ohio." This statement alone sparked my curiosity while on a business trip to the Midwest. 4th & State is a wonderful place in America's heartland offering up traditional diner fare made from plant based ingredients. I read all of the Yelp reviews and decided to walk over from my downtown Columbus hotel to check it out. It's easy to find (on the corner of South 4th Street and East State Street), as you'll see people waiting outside to be lucky enough to snag one of the limited dining room table seats. Be prepared to wait with other hungry and health-conscious customers. Even as a solo diner on a late Sunday morning, I was told the wait would be about an hour. I was able to leave my name and received a curtesy call 45 minutes later once my table was available. My friendly server came over to offer me something to drink, asked if I had any questions and presented some of the specials for the day. After taking several moments to pour over the great-sound menu, I decided to go with the Statehouse Breakfast ($18) - Two pancakes or French Toast served with a choice of breakfast sides. In my case, I went with the seasonal Cinnamon Apple French Toast, with Hashbrowns (GF/SF) and Seitan Sausage. Service was very attentive, although customers should know that during peak busy times, you will wait a good 20-30 minutes for your order to arrive. This has nothing to do with efficiency, as the food is served up hot, fresh and tasty - it's simply a matter of good food takes time to prepare. Finally, my food arrived (with an smile and an apology for the wait from my server). It was well worth the wait. The seasonal Cinnamon Apple French Toast was spectacular. The caramelized apple bits mixed with an outstanding whipped cream and syrup was absolutely incredible. The toast itself was wonderfully soft and tasty, with just a slight hint of crisp on the crust corners. Add an extra $1 to the Statehouse Breakfast if you choose to add the Seasonal option(s) to your order. The Hashbrowns (GF/SF) were also quite good. Great crisp outer texture with delicious soft potato interior, all without the guilt. The plant-based meat substitute Seitan Sausage links were also tasty. The prices are on par with what you would find at other diners, but without the greasy spoon guilt. Come check out this family-owned diner, as this clan knows how to create an amazingly unique dining experience that will delight the tastebuds of everyone that visits.
I usually order takeout or delivery from them but we decided to go in and see the place. Very cute and the service was wonderful. Our server was so sweet and thoughtful. My friend go the burrito bowl and said it was amazing. I got the loaded tots and the buffalo chick sandwich. The sandwich was phenomenal. The tots were ok, they unfortunately didn't taste super fresh. I have to say, I HATE cold food that's supposed to be hot and these were flavor-wise very good but temp was cold. I've ordered from here many times through delivery also and it's always good. Will be back!
I loved everything about this place! I got a burger on gluten free bread that was so fluffy and delicious. The burger tasted just meaty enough and was great dipped in vegan ranch. They did forget a couple things but everything we did get was so delicious. I added on a strawberry milkshake that was super thick with vegan whipped cream on top. Can't wait to come back!
TOP TIER. The location is convenient. The atmosphere is cool. The people, staff and guest, are helpful and friendly. The menu is amazing. The options are great. My food was delicious. EVERYTHING is vegan. I can't wait to come back with my sons. I bought two orders of the loaded fries, potato skins, and cheezy garlic bread. Chef's kiss!
We went to her our @4thandstate fix. Voted the best vegan dinner in america according to VegOut magazine. Pictured , jalapeño popper sandwich, it's a Tempeh friend chik'n paddy with jalapeños and vegan cream cheese. And a cheese burger. With tempeh buffalo chik'n wings and 2 shakes. Strawberry cheesecake and lemon lavender.
We found this place just down from the theater and loved everything we had! There are very few places where we could order anything on the menu as vegetarians! The chicken parmesan sandwich was amazing! Drinks were good and we did street parking close by. Will def be back anytime we are in downtown Columbus!
Easy 5 stars. This place excels in every way. The food is top tier, the servers are awesome, the vibe of the interior is cozy and welcoming, the owner is dope. Don't think too hard, just go try it out. I recommend their pancakes, and burgers, ooh and their pizza, and their breadsticks, ooh and their..... see what I mean? All fire. I gotta go back soon
I am surprised I have not reviewed this restaurant since I have been coming here pretty regularly for a few years. I love this place, it was on my favorite vegan spots in the country, and I can be picky. Ever since Eden Burger closed this has been my go to for great vegan options. So many things to choose from, honestly I have been here so many times that I have yet to try everything on the menu. Breakfast is great and served all day (I recommend the vrunchwrap and brunchos are the choices), but they also have sandwiches, burgers, and pizza. For lunch and dinner I recommend the pizza! To finish your meal I recommend a tasty treat, they always have a nice selection of desserts. Service is always friendly and quick even when they are busy. I love the minimalist atmosphere. This is a must stop for vegans! So many options that are all delicious! read more

Oh my god. Best vegan for I've ever had in my life..... Let me correct this..probably some of the best FOOD i've ever had in my life. I am not vegan..my boyfriend is. But wow! We live 4 hours away from here and already discussed that we will need to take trips up once a month to eat this delicious creation. Staff super friendly. They take time with the food which is well worth it. We order Micheladas. Holy Moly! DELICIOUS. Breakfast Crunchwrap. It was the most delicious creation. Hot Nashville Pizza. Never had anything better. Stuffed crust in a vegan pizza?!?!?!?! Is that even a thing! I honestly can't even begin to write how amazing those three things were but I can say my mouth is watering thinking about them. This place is a MUST GO...MUST GO NOW! You will not regret it. I have ordered delivery and also been in person. Ordered both breakfast and lunch stuff. It's alllll good. This place rocks. Great service, too, they are so nice. I love vegan diners and am always happy to see new ones pop up. If you aren't vegan, still recommend!! It's also great to bring people who are wary of vegan food cause seriously who can say no to vegan junk food lol read more
I'm so glad I dropped in while driving through, thanks to the central location. I had the most unique chicken sandwich and to-die-for potato skins. I will dream of these. The chicken sandwich had jalapenos, provolone cheese, and Thai sauce and was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Lovely staff and nice seating area, not really styled as a diner which I expected based on their logo and menu. read more

4th and State My family and I have been here for both brunch and dinner and it is now our go to plant based restaurant in Columbus hands down! The service is top notch and they will make adjustments on whatever you need. They have a good variety of options for both breakfast/lunch and dinner food - all delicious! From the pancake balls to the nachos to the burgers and fries, we couldn't get enough. I don't only eat plant-based food and I missed nothing throughout each meal. I could eat their food every day! The drinks are also very tasty - mimosas and beer! Additionally, we went for my birthday and I had the best sugar cookie I've ever eaten. I would recommend anyone try this restaurant, I will definitely be back! read more

Our server was super friendly and the interior is cozy. The menu is very large with breakfast all day; reminiscent of a typical diner. I LOVE that everything is vegan. Only 4 because the food was just kinda underwhelming. Everything was generally good, just nothing special. Pizza was okay but being from NY, well, I'm spoiled. When a "pizza" comes out deep inside of a pan... can you REALLY call it a pizza?! read more

Okay so this place is so cute aesthetically but the good news is that the food is also delicious. My husband ordered the Club and that was 5/5 and so freaking delicious that I thought about ordering one for the rest of my road trip. So good! I had the Nashville hot pizza and I would rate that a 4/5 - only because it tastes more like buffalo hot than Nashville hot and the vinegar taste was a bit over-powering but it was still tasty and I am very full. Some of the best food we have ever eaten. I would cheerfully take non-vegans here. The food is so good, the quality, the textures all of it is perfect. Nothing feels like a substitute or an alternative to the "real thing". In fact, until today the best pancakes I ever had were "regular" pancakes on a pier in San Francisco. Today 4th & States vegan pancakes took the crown: beautiful, fluffy and delicious. The staff is patient, kind and efficient. If you go at a busy time, be patient amazing food takes time to craft. Best vegan brunch spot in town! Even if you're not vegan, definitely check it out! I'm not vegan and I can't tell the difference. The food tastes awesome and there are lots of sweet and savory brunch options to choose from. This is a popular place and the wait is usually 10-20 minutes, so something to keep in mind. The staff are super nice and helpful. The food is well priced and the combos are a great way to try multiple menu items. I find myself coming back again and again when I'm in the mood for brunch! read more
I enjoyed my lunch at 4th & State. It's a great location for the breakfast/lunch crOwd working in the area. Finding parking is more difficult than prior years, but that's a given considering the increase in our population and city traffic. The space is very nice. Lots of windows, and I like the metal Columbus skyline design on the back wall. Since 4th & State (happy Ryan, I typed out the name... ;D) is still in their soft opening stage, they may add more decor, but to be honest, I like the simple design with pops of paintings around. I tried their homemade Veggie Burger - a mix of mashed sweet potatoes and black beans concoction. The gentleman who took my order was very accomidating and willingly allowed me to get the bun on the side and sub their bacun for the potato chips. Got the chipotle aioli also on the side. The sandwich was good. I'm a hujazz sweet potato fan, so more flavor from that component would have been stellar. The many quality slices of avocado topping that patty was fantastic. Spot-on ripe! I'm glad I got the aioli on the side, I think it might be a bit too much if it were spread all over the components (a personal preference, however). The bacun was interesting. Not crispy, but still good; it had hints of maybe bbq or teriyaki? Not sure, but it was a decent trade-off for more protein. 4th & State is a solid choice for breakfast/lunch. Minus the fact there's no private parking lot, I'd happily come back for a meal if I'm in the area. read more

I was very excited to visit 4th & State and should have ordered something more interesting than a simple bowl of veggies and rice. You have a choice for the sauce, and I picked spicy peanut which was actually quite delicious, but the rice was somewhat dry and the veggies undercooked. There are plenty of other potentially great options on the menu so I will be back to try something else! read more

This is the best vegan food I have ever had! I am not personally a vegan but I love to try new things. So my brother and I came to this restaurant. The place is beautiful and the staff is so sweet. They also do a great job of keeping dining area and the bathrooms clean. I ordered the Chick'n Pretendies and a side of Loaded Fries w/ Blue Cheese Sauce ($17). The food was absolutely amazing and had very meat like texture! I will definitely be back :) read more

My first time here was with the local vegan meetup group and we had a blast! They made special arrangements for all 20+ of us and the servers and everyone were super nice, friendly, and quick. Between the two of us we got the decaf coffee with oat milk cookie creamer, lemonade, traditional patty melt, and their Valentine's Day special chocolate strawberry French toast. Love their green decor, pretty lights, and all the affirmative messages and stuff around the restroom area. We'll def go again! read more

My friend and I were debating breakfast places and ended up here! We split the VRUNCH WRAP and the French toast- both were AMAZING. the vrunch wrap had a lot of flavor and crunch- I loved the orange sauce and vegan sour cream that accompanied it- the sauces took it to the next level. The French toast was delightful! It had a cinnamon filling like a cinnanmon roll- you don't need the syrup if you don't want but I also thought it was great with the syruup!!!!! I would recommend this to vegan eaters and carnivores alike- TASTY AND FILLING read more

I'm so happy that we came today. It was our first time and definitely coming back to try everything. Hubby (non vegan) loved his meal - vegan breakfast crunch wrap; I got the taco crunch wrap. Words cannot express how amazing the food was; all of the staff was so accommodating. We got some desserts to go. VEGAN SCOTCHEROOS!! chewy gooey rice crispies, butterscotch and chocolate. Amazing food-worth the drive over from Dayton! All 4 of us ordered something different and all 4 us LOVED our food. Friendly staff and the suggestions were just just what we were looking for. Always top notch. Those with a dairy, tree nut or peanut allergies rejoice- no cooking with these allergens! Almond milk is available upon request but is not used in the kitchen. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bustling on a Sunday at noon with the wait out the door. Glad we were a little earlier! read more

Um WOW. Best vegan pizza I've ever had. Crust was thick & fluffy, cheese was melty & creamy. Also had the lavender lemon French toast & YUM. It had such a beautiful flavor mix with crusty & soft French toast plus an amazing lemon butter cream & warm maple syrup...melt in your mouth. The definition of deliciousness! If your vegan or interested in trying vegan, this definitely is the place for you. The service is fair, but the staff is friendly. I ordered Brussels sprouts for an appetizer but never got them. The server was busy and apparently forgot. I took my mom vegan friends and the loved it. read more
