I would say that I don't really recommend this place. I did a mistake with my boyfriend. We went there around 10.00 pm and waited in front of the host's desk like 5 minutes, no one took care us, even though there is less customers for that time. Secondly, there service is suck. I have to ask for the utensil, bowl and sauce bowl which it should have been on the table without asking Thirdly, we ordered a lots of sashimi fish but the server forgot to took care of it. Then my bf told them that we were still waiting for it. Then they brought it out. The price is 48$ without the soup. This is my 5th time here, with every visit getting just a little bit worse in terms of quality of food and cleanliness. But after todays meal it's p safe to say we won't be coming back. All the seafood we ate today was frozen & tasted gross - super pungent after taste. Everything else was fine.. nothing out of the norm compared to every other 30$ or less hot pot AYCE places. Everything from the chairs to the floor is so greasy it just feels grimey being there. Bathrooms gross & smelled like someone was smoking a cigarette in there. Service was... fine. Literally every interaction we had w an employee, they assumed we were Chinese. We had to explain to no shit 7 people we don't speak Chinese and that we don't understand what they're trying to tell us. Which, I get it, we're in flushing Main Street and we're Asian. It's not like we took any offense by it but I think it speaks volumes of the customer service & the lack of team work & communication going on behind the scenes when you have to explain to every employee working that night that we don't understand what they're saying. As much as I love hotpot, I would not recommend this place for big groups, especially with children. My friend had made reservations for one of the private rooms at 7:30pm. In our group, we had about 6 young children including an infant. During the first half hour of our wait, we were told that our room was being cleaned. After waiting another half an hour (an hour at this point), they told us that they were actually waiting for the other group to leave. They couldn't kick them out because the other party would refuse to pay if they were forced to leave (even though they already had the room from 5-8pm). Another big red flag is of why would they take our reservation at 7:30 if the other group had the room until 8pm?! Anyway, as the staff were aware that we had hungry children, they had given us a small room that fits 4 people so that our kids can eat first while we continue to wait. After almost 2 hours of wait, we finally got the room but it still took time to set up. The food came quite quickly but even asking for wine glasses took forever. Although the staff were courteous and apologized for the incident (and comped some of our alcohol), this place needs better management. It was unacceptable that we were not told in advance on what's actually happening and that the manager could not get the other large party to leave . I have a mixed feeling about this restaurant, therefore I'm only giving it 3 stars. I don't want to give it a too low rating that might effect the restaurant but I think there're improvement needed. I'll list down what I like and dislike about it. Like.. -The individual booth, more like a little room, for privacy or for COVID reason. -The foods, cut of the meats are big slice not like most AYCE places that sliced it thinly you can even pick up. seafood are fresh, those live shrimp were still moving. Dislike.. -The cleanness inside the booth.. Even though I like the booth for privacy, but it has to be clean, the floor of the booth and some inside corners I could see dirt and when I first got in there were some spot of water or soy sauce on the chair and table, our server saw me used a napkin to wipe it down, he didn't say or do anything, which brings me to the next point. -The service, I would not say it's bad, but defiantly improvement needed. from the above mentioned, my server could offer to help me clean out whatever I was wiping or at least apologized. And when the server passed the soup base, he shouldn't asked us the placed the pot in ourselves. Also because of the booth setup, there's a call button, response time should be quicker. And just a suggestion, should have all and extra utensils inside the booth to avoid unnecessary call button calls. Just one last point, it's not about like or dislike, but about making sense.. The price $48.80, price wise it's higher than most other AYCE places, which I think it's fair for the food choices and freshness, but I don't get why need to charge extra $5.50 for the soup base?? Went there on Saturday night requesting for wait time. Hostess had told us 30 minutes but we ended up waiting 1 hour to get a table. After finally being seated, it took about 20 minutes to get service despite hitting the call button several times. We then found out our hot pot table was not working. We were escorted to a different table by the window and it was freezing. The only source of heating we got was from the hot pot. Multiple items that we ordered were not brought out to us. We were also rushed to pay the bill due to last call about 30 minutes after we finally started to eat. Let me sum it up. We got there at 9pm, got seated at 10:10pm, switched tables that only had the option of large pots so we were charged $18.50 for soup base instead of $5.50 even though it wasn't our fault for having a table that DID NOT WORK. We started eating at around 11pm, had last call and was requested to pay within 30 minutes. We were also charged for items we did not receive and we had to notify them AFTER paying the bill. It's supposed to be a 2 hour buffet, but we could not order more food after 30 minutes of eating. This is incredibly disrespectful towards our time. I understand that it was a Saturday night and I do believe the servers were trying their best. This restaurant needs to hire more staff and be more courteous towards the guests who waited almost 2 hours to start eating. The food was decent but wasn't worth the hassle at all. This is a pricey ayce spot. $50 per person + soup base + tip + tax. You're looking at, at least $80 per person unless you're tipping less than 20%. Not to mention drinks and special priced items that have additional costs like lobster and king crab. But for the most basic price you have an extremely wide variety of hotpot items. There's 3 kinds of shrimp, 5 varieties of beef, a page of assorted tofu products, and sashimi. Everything was super fresh. We arrived right before the rush. There was many people with reservations and luckily we got a room before the rush or the wait outside looked like an hour +. Every single table is in it's own private room. It is super covid friendly. There is also rooms with KTV. And if you spend enough money, there's also rooms with mj. We just sang some music in our room. The rooms are with different hot pots, some have single serving for one and some have shared pots for multiple people. We had to have a shared pot as we brought a bunch of kids. My favorite items included in the ayce is the sashimi salmon & yellowtail, clams, scallops and live shrimp, snowflake sliced beef and fatty beef. Other people's favorites in our group were the blue crab, shrimp paste and beverage varieties. The one item that everyone agreed on that was the best was the fried pork appetizer that is sprinkled with a little bit of spice and my kids ate it all ‍ I was scared thinking they don't like spicy foods but they loved it! We had a karaoke room downstairs. The food is ok. When it got busy it took some time to get the food delivered. The mens room was ok but I was told the ladies' room was filthy, smell of urine.
