We found this place while looking for a local spot to eat before going to La Mirada Theater. It's a small family joint where the husband is the chef! We found out 194 is the weight of the husband so cute. We ran into a couple that are regulars and they love going there to try new dishes. It's nicely priced and very friendly. Definitely will be back! It was our first time trying out this place today and all I can say is I'll definitely be back! The food is so flavorful! The service was outstanding! The girl in the first definitely helped us out with some great recommendations. Especially with the milk teas they have. Food: Bulgogi Rice Bowl / Pad See Ew I've probably driven by 194 Eatery a hundred times, but have never noticed it. Wanting to try something new, we decided that it was finally time to check one off the "to try list." The Bulgogi Rice Bowl was decent. The meat was tender, the portion sizing was okay, and overall had some good flavor to it. I added a little sriracha to spice it up a bit. The Pad See Ew on the other hand... I would probably never order again. The noodles were wayyy too oily, that it made it almost inedible. We ended up sharing the rice bowl instead. Restaurant: 194 Eatery is tucked away in a strip mall off a super busy street. It is kind of hidden behind some other buildings out front which means you can easily miss it if you are not looking. Inside there about 6ish tables. Notes: Someone once told me that if you went to an Asian restaurant and they made many different types of Asian foods (Korean, Viet, Japanese) and didn't focus on solely one, that you should pass. I think this might be one of those examples. For those that love it and support, keep doing so! That's what keeps these small restaurants in business. I ordered friend rice and wontons online. Pick up time was 20 minutes. I get to the eatery and not only is my food not ready but after standing in the eatery for about 10 minutes, tell finally decide to tell me there is no more rice to fulfill my order. 100% unacceptable. There good is delicious but so not worth this type of mistake. read more

This establishment was clean and has an interesting seating arrangement. They have seats for small parties and bigger parties. When I first arrived I notice they have a B so that was a little interesting. I ordered the Cheesy Kimchi Fries and the Strawberry Milk Tea. This was my first time having the cheesy kimchi fries I was a little hesitant but decided to order it. The Cheesy Kimchi Fries were very good I enjoyed them very much. The flavoring was perfect and I liked how they cooked the egg over the fries. The strawberry milk tea was interesting it was like strawberry filling on the bottom so when you drink you kind of taste chunks. Personally I didn't enjoy the chunks but to each is own. The drink was pretty good it's just that part that I didn't care for. The service was very good and I thought they were pretty fast. All in all I had a good experience. read more

Ordered by phone for takeout, and it was ready right in time. The popcorn chicken comes with 2 sauces, one is a sweet and sour and the other is ranch. Well in 60% confident it was ranch, it had muted flavor and could have been a Mayo or aioli of some kind. I liked the ranch more than the sweet and sour, just a better pairing. (BoPoMoFo has a Thai basil aioli which is probably the best sauce I've had with popcorn chicken). Chicken pieces were reasonable size, and the total portion was acceptable for the price. Second item was the Cheesy Kimchi Fries, a guilty pleasure kind of dish. Yeah I figured it would not be the healthiest item but it sounded good and it was. Fries in the bottom, with cheese melted and then topped with kimchi and some proteins including an over easy egg. I did take out and ate the food at home, fries got a little soggy and would have been even better if eaten fresh in restaurant. In addition to the egg, there was some chicken, some bulgogi, and some spam cubes. These ask added a bit to the flavor profile, but I wanted a bit more kimchi since that is in the dish name. Staff were very nice and even gifted a small dessert to the kids. Popcorn chicken for Sophie comes with sweet and sour sauce and ranch. Ranch better but muted flavor (maybe Mayo?) chicken itself fine and good size pieces. Cheesy Kimchi fries were unhealthy and tasty. Had various meats including spam, bulgogi, chicken, stuffy egg on top. Fries did get soggy overtime but eaten fresh would be enjoyable. read more

This is a small eatery with big flavors. The service was great and I love the look of the inside. The chicken fried rice was perfect. Now over or under seasoned. The flavors were just right. One of the best rice dishes I've had so far in the OC. The garlic noodles were good as well. The noodles were " garlic noodles " but more so like lo main. They didn't really have a garlic flavor. But with the egg and the bulgogi on top it made the dish good anyways. I would definitely come back. read more

This shop was tagged as Asian fusion and has a simple menu. Very straightforward. Starters, rice bowls (choose protein or veg), garlic noodles (choose protein or veg), pad see ew (choose protein or veg), and drinks (tea, boba, etc) on the back of the menu. Loved the variety of menu items. Everything we got was so delicious! Between all of us, we tried the orange chicken, the kimchi fries, the beef bulgogi fries, and a beef bowl. Everything was 10/10 would recommend! I also had the Thai tea and it was a nice addition to the food. The noodles were phenomenal as well. Such a nice small place that was empty when we came so maybe that added to our experience but it was simple and welcoming. Our food was also very good but I still say that if you intend to share then maybe decide on one dish and an appetizer because the portions are quite a lot. I truly loved their pad see ew which I have been craving for a while and their bulgogi fries were so bomb and maintained their crunchy texture. My wife got garlic noodles with shrimp which was also quite flavorful and delicious. Their tea was also quite good both with boba and without. Highly recommend for a casual meal out. read more

Oh my gosh this place is so good. If you keep going to Panda Express and think you're getting quality food... stop. The food is so delicious and so fresh and I overall felt great after eating it which sometimes you don't with food if it's heavy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is super cute, a bit small but very cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So this isn't a place for big groups to sit but it is for big groups to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had questions on the menu and the staff was so patient and kind as I asked a lot of questions. Oh what an identity crisis. Pad see ew tasted like a bland chow fun. Vietnamese garlic noodle with filet minon, lacked garlic and was made with Chinese Lo mein. Korean garlic wings were done right but itty bitty. Soy garlic boneless chicken filled up the box but was a lot of soggy batter. Will pass next time. read more

This is coming from a couple who eats Asian foods 50% of the time each month. Like even down to the ice they use in their drinks and the cute lil cups. We ordered Vietnamese coffee 5$ strong Passing fruit boba 5$ fresh and boba is very good Orange chicken (best real breaded orange chicken I've had) 8$ Plain pad see ew (amazing flavor with good veggie combo of green onions and bok choi? With garlic)10$ this dish could use some thicker noodles. Garlic Noodles with filet mignon 15$ (Bomb thick noodles, soft tender filet cooked perfectly, would like to see more bok Choi tho) Total was 55 for 2 with 15% tip of course! We had leftovers too! Well worth your money going here. Drinks were quality, noodles were good, flavor was authentic, serving sizes are good and everything seems to be made fresh. read more

Only tried one dish and I wish I discovered this place earlier. Their fried rice is authentic consider the neighborhood it's in. Service was nice - I ordered on website 15 mins before walked in for pickup and it was quick like 5 secs. The environment was clean, simple and family feeling. Second time coming here and probably for my bf maybe fifth time. Regardless place is great! Food is delicious, staff is personable and friendly and service was also great! These are the type of places we should invest our money in supporting. Family owned businesses that care about their customers and the experience. Also, the shaved cabbage salad is a great compliment to the meal. I'll be back with the family to check out the other offerings here. One downside, the space is tight, so strollers and wheelchairs won't be a comfy fit. However, there were littles here around 7 pm for dinner. All in all, is highly recommend Yoko Donkatsu.

$25 KIMCHEE CHEESE KATSU: VERY cheesy and fun to try once, but I'd prefer the regular meat ones with more protein!

We decided to try take out for dinner tonight. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back. My husband and I both wanted the garlic noodles and they were really good. He got them with shrimp and it was nice to see that they had so many options: beef, chicken, vegetables, tofu or plain. The portions were great too! The bluegi fries were bomb too. Cheesy and flavorful mixed with really good grilled onions. I would definitely get this again. I was also impressed by their large selection of boba tea and smoothies. I will definitely have to try them next time. A few years ago this used to be a great breakfast and lunch spot (Amy's Cafe) and I was very sad when it closed. However, it didn't feel awkward. There was a TV playing on medium volume and the older Korean owners were really nice and made us feel welcomed. They gave us two bowls of complimentary miso soup (which our toddlers loved). Food came out relatively quickly. It definitely has mom n' pop vibes which I love. Decor was minimal but clean and the restaurant was well maintained. I think the place would make a nice casual dinner date. Food/Value (4/5): We ordered the udon with 4-piece spicy tuna roll combo, the mixed tempura appetizer, a baked salmon roll and a California roll. The total came out to $51.25. Prices are super fair for what you get, especially if you're craving special rolls or want a little of everything (they have so many combos). I'll review our food specifically below: -Udon & spicy tuna combo (3/5): Udon came in a pretty big bowl with udon, fish cake, green onions, and tempura flakes. Staff could benefit from additional customer service training and more awareness of their guests' needs. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.
