I absolutely loved this place! My friend had her graduation dinner here and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were SOOOO FRIENDLY, food was tasty and there was a photobooth in the back! Such a great place for drinking and bar food. After last night I was ready to just write this place off and move on. Then I checked my bank statement today and saw that my tip had been increased by $10 after the fact. That is where this crosses from bad service into outright shady behavior. We came in as a group for dinner and the experience was mediocre at best. The restaurant was so dark we had to ask for additional lamps, which didn't even stay on. The service button at the table didn't work, so we repeatedly had to flag down the two servers. Water refills were forgotten. Basic attentiveness was missing. Nothing about the service justified anything beyond "okay." Our server eventually replenished our onions and broth, and perhaps that single "heroic" act went to her head- because after we paid and were already heading to our car, she ran out after our group. Our server, ASHLEY ran out to the parking lot to tell me my total was incorrect. I had accidentally written $170 instead of $178 due to a minor handwriting error. Understandable- so I corrected it immediately. That should have been the end of it. But it wasn't. She then had the audacity to question why her tip was "only 7%." I told her the service was just okay and we left. No argument, no scene- but it was already inappropriate and unprofessional to confront customers about their tip in the first place. What's completely unacceptable is what happened next. The finalized charge posted as $188- not the corrected $178. That means she added an extra $10 to my tip without my consent. Let's be clear: that is not a "mistake," that is altering a signed receipt and helping yourself to someone else's money. For context, my intended tip was $14.95- about 10% of the subtotal. More than fair for the level of service we received. Tips are optional, not owed and certainly not something a server gets to revise after the fact because they feel entitled to more. This was downright tacky, dishonest, and a complete breach of trust. I have already filed a dispute with my bank as I have a picture of what I signed before leaving the restaurant and I strongly recommend others check their receipts carefully and document it before leaving as well. But if you are smart, you would avoid an establishment that employs such an abhorrent server with no integrity or shame. Do better. read more

We came on a Friday evening and the place was empty. There were only a few other people inside the restaurant besides our party, but this allowed us to be seated quickly. Service here was also very quick and our waiter was super attentive. He also gave us a couple bottles on the house! As for the food, it was pretty good! We really enjoyed the pork belly as well as the fried chicken gizzards. The soy garlic chicken was a bit too salty/saucy tho. The rose tteokbokki also had a tomato flavor rather than the typical Gochujang flavor for some reason. When I say this place is worth a drive, it's worth it! The service was so quick and the staff was so kind and thoughtful. My friends and I came in to have dinner and we were offered a bottle of soju on the house. We got kimchi fried rice, spicy soy glazed chicken, tofu udon soup, cheese tteokbokki and more and every single dish was so good. My sister took me here last year and lives were changed. I finally showed my boyfriend this place and I gotta say, the quality and charm remained. I'm someone who's easily overwhelmed by bright lights so sitting inside a dark environment helps and also just looks cool. The booths are large enough to make things feel private so that enhances one's experience and enjoyment -- especially for people with social anxiety like me. The music wasn't blasting our ears off either. Everything came together nicely to feel like a welcoming little area. The staff -- can I just say whoever closed yesterday (October 11) you all did an incredible job and were all so attentive and kind. I don't expect much from restaurants that have a button to request service as it all depends on you, but they all made sure we felt seen and taken care of regardless of any requests. Our table remained clean and always had enough water. Our server communicated well with us and was overall just a pleasant person. I wish we had got his name to leave this review in honor of him haha As for the food, I will say this. It is a tad pricey if you come in with set expectations, but honestly, it does not disappoint. Each time we needed a server we had to wave them down and the last time I had to go to the front desk to ask. "Nolza" means "let's play" in Korean. It brings me back to the 90's Korean drinking cafes in Koreatown, LA. I came to celebrate a friend's birthday this past weekend and had a great time! We ordered "Nolza Combo", which comes with a combination of food & drink options. We chose the bbq pork rib, chicken skewer, spicy seafood stew, and salad. Everything was SO good, but what stood out the most was their spicy seafood stew. It was AMAZING. Also, their food did not taste too greasy, which I really liked. My friends enjoyed soju & beer, and I enjoyed their Diet Coke which was also part of their combo. Other than that, Nolza is such a comfortable & fun environment. We had friendsgiving here last night and it turned out to be a good idea. A few people asked me how I found this spot and it was yelp.... the reviews were good and they had a big space for our party of 10. One of the worst customer service experiences I've had. My group only needed one table, yet we waited over 40 minutes while multiple dirty tables sat empty. Every time we asked, we were told, "Just a few more minutes." No one could give us a real wait time. The "we're busy" excuse didn't match what we were seeing. Employees were chatting with people they appeared to know, taking their time, and one server was even outside smoking while customers continued waiting. Meanwhile, tables remained empty and uncleaned. The biggest issue was the complete lack of communication and the dismissive attitude. We checked in with several servers, but no one seemed to know what was going on. Instead of communicating with each other, it felt like the responsibility was pushed back onto the customer to remind them that we were still waiting. When I finally expressed our frustration with the lack of communication and dismissive service, the cashier/manager patted me on the shoulder and said, "Bro, don't be mad." I'm a customer--not your "bro." I never yelled or raised my voice. Touching a customer without permission and speaking to them that way was completely inappropriate. After I asked him not to touch me, we were simply told to leave. We left immediately and went to Haus Lounge, where the service was night and day compared to this place. I don't want this business to fail--I genuinely hope management improves the customer service. But after this experience, I won't be coming back. read more

I love this place. My boyfriend and I work nights sometimes and this is our Go to when we're off and hungry. They open late and they have a great variety of options. Our go to is the spicy seafood soup . Portions are huge so one is good enough for the both of us. Service is great. They're sweet, quick and attentive. They even gave us a free sake bottle. The Kimchi fried rice was my favorite. The flavor the egg the kimchi everything was perfect. Nolza is a great late-night Korean pub spot for great vibes and food! The restaurant is really spacious with a large outdoor patio and lots of drawings and writings on the walls. The music is really loud and fun and reminded me of the Korean pub as seen in the Itaewon K-drama. The servers are very welcoming and give great recommendations! Our server recommended a sake I had never seen before and I really enjoyed it! It was called Starlight Chungha, which is a sparkling rice wine and I loved that it had a good amount of sweetness and I especially loved that the alcohol taste wasn't too strong. I also tried their tteokbokki with added ramen and cheese along with their spicy stir-fried octopus. Both were so good and comforting!
