Walking in, I really enjoyed the nice, dim drinking atmosphere. It's a great place for a late night get together with friends if you're really interested in trying Korean dishes or interesting dishes like the Live Octopus and Live Octopus + Beef Tartare I ordered. Both items were very interesting and fresh. The portion of the Beef Tartare and Octopus was pretty big. It was extremely surprising. I came here as well for a late Father's Day celebration and also got the Pork Belly with Kimchi. My father enjoyed it thoroughly and so did I. It was very crispy and cooked in a way where the natural flavors really came out nicely. We stopped in for dinner the other night. There is parking available. The restaurant itself is small but charming. It feels very homey. We got the two person live seafood combo. It is $160 and comes with almost too much food. We could have easily brought one or two more people with us. You get so many dishes ranging from salads, to corn cheese, to pork, to a steamed egg, a seafood pancake and even cold kimchi soup. Then the live seafood arrives. The live octopus is so cool as it is still moving. Chew it thoroughly and then swallow so the suction cups don't stick to your mouth. There is also abalone, sea cucumber, sea squirt and spoon worms. The freshness is unmatched and the flavors are so good. The star is the halibut and fluke sashimi. Thee portion is so large and having fresh sashimi like this is unreal. And then there is still more food. Now the spicy pork, fried items such as tempura and onion rings, and a spicy fish stew all arrive. Then you get a bowl of Korean shaved ice to end the meal. Such an amazing experience. Service was amazing and really took the time to explain to us all the dishes and the best way to eat many of them. Come here and dine like royalty. My friend and I came here and got the 2 People Combo ($160) which includes a tanksome of live seafood. This definitely feeds more than two. They also have combos for 3-4 people. We came on a Tuesday when they opened at 530 and it was a slow night and they're open late. Parking was easy since it was slow. But since it shared the lot with a Billiards place I could imagine the lot getting busier. It'll be an adventure for some, especially when your food is still moving. The live octopus is not for everyone, we were instructed to chew it for awhile before swallowing it. Not my thing but my friend had some. My husband & I came here couple of weeks ago with 2 other couples so total 6 of us on a Saturday night. Ambiance was chill & laid back. There was outdoor seating as well. Business was slow around the time we got there with only 2 other tables but as the night went on, place got booked up. We ordered Kimchi pancake, tofu kimchi, corn cheese, chicken gizzard, & Bacon rice cake skewer for all of us to share. Everything was seasoned right & solid. Service was beyond excellent. Our server initially comped us a free bottle of soju bc he brought the wrong brand but then he continuously comped us more bottles of soju & beer. ALWAYS THE GO TO SPOT!! I love going to pochas and gastropubs, late night eats and drinks. I frequented Korea Town in Los Angeles every week, since I wasn't aware of any late night spots with the same energy or atmosphere in OC. If you like to go to Sojuya, Kappo Honda, etc the like you should come here! The store is great for accommodating small parties I'd say up to 6 before you start combining tables or sitting split up. They also have table set up outside classic plastic stools and table style, which is great if you decide to order their BBQ which you can grill yourself. Food- Portions are great for the price and same with the variety of options that I would say are not as common as other places in OC. Versus other spots with mid fried food or basic items I think you can actually both eat a meal and snack as you go. I recommend the stir fried gizzards(comes with a separate salad similar to ones served at kbbq), beef tartare, and the NEW item slice pork belly with garlic sauce. Service- IS GREAT!! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. More so a relaxed environment for both customers dining in and staff. Atmosphere - Dark restaurant with neon light decor and patio lights I believe outside. It is a smallish restaurant so it feels cozier honestly. Wait- Honestly it depends when you go. Sometimes even if it is pretty packed I have only ever waited up to 10 minutes or so. And that's at around 11PM. Location- You have to turn into a narrow plaza. It has little parking especially when busy, I sometimes resort to street parking. There's karaoke and other restaurants in the next door plaza to hit up after if you go early enough. read more
