Came here to meet friends..not my most favorite Korean bbq place..it's loud, chaotic, the floors are greasy and the place is old. It's all you can eat and I'm not a fan of that either. I feel like the quality for me, is not the greatest at AYCE places and I value that over the quantity, since I can't eat a lot anymore anyways. We got the lower tier price since we had kids with us...The brisket was too thick, the bulgogi was congealed together and we had to basically really separate each piece in order to get it cooked property. The side dishes were ok, nothing spectacular. It's an ok place. They did have ice cream for dessert that came in single cartons. When I asked about the flavors our waiter said chocolate malted crunch and I was like whaaatttt?! Thrifty's ice cream?! I don't think he understood what I was saying but I understood when I got my cup. Even though it was frozen hard, the nostalgia of that flavor from my childhood, riding my bike to go get that Thrifty's ice cream and that taste..can never be forgotten! First time visiting a KBBQ place since moving to California. I can't believe I have gone to none in the 2 years I have been in SoCal!! The service was efficient and meat portions were just right. Loved the sides like soup and fluffy eggs to nosh on. Delicious banchan too. I'm still drooling over the potato salads. The grill got changed when smoking. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I liked how it came with an option for fresh rice paper, radish, or rice. Definitely a good value for all that it offered! Free parking never hurts! read more

I really enjoyed Cham Soot Gol, from the food to the excellent and attentive service! My group only ate brisket, bulgogi and beef belly so based on those meats, all were solid quality and tasty. We went in with a large party, but the service was still very good and attentive. Props to the staff for being professional even though we had a lot of kids with us. This is a good place to take your family or large parties. If you are doing the A-level menu I would stick to the thinly sliced beef and pork belly. If you are doing the B-level menu I would add in beef tongue as well. I also like their selection of banchan. The potato salad, japchae, and fish cake were my favorites. They give you free ice cream at the end too. It's straight out of the freezer so it's a bit hard, but it's good once it warms up. I always get the green tea ice cream. read more

Came here for a family dinner. Were a big party and they were able to accommodate our large group. i was kind of disappointed that they didnt offer corn cheese. They have two options for meat selection. The staff here are really nice and always checked on us if we needed refills of anything. My husband liked the soup but i was underwhelmed with the egg dish. It felt like something was missing in the ingredients. For dessert, they had big cups of ice cream, flavors of chocolate, green tea, strawberry and cookies and cream. We were greeted right away. The servers were super attentive and gave us what we asked for. This isn't your typical kbbq spot where its a small platter of protein. The restaurant wasnt too busy on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated almost immediately. Each plate that we ordered were massive! It didnt even fit on the grill! You had two prices choices to chose from. We opted for the cheaper price. The side dishes were unlimited and so were the soft drinks. We only ordered 4 trays of protein before we said it was enough. The smoke hood above the grill was large enough that there wasnt much smoke around us. That was a huge bonus. We will have to try the higher price next time. read more

Came on a Sunday night and ordered Combo B which is 39.99/person. We really enjoyed the Beef Tongue, Bone-In Beef Short Rib, and the Ribeye Steak. Plus we really enjoyed the Bean paste soup, spice tofu soup and the kimchi fried rice. After being denied at several kbbq locations, we went to trusted ol Cham Soot Gol! I have a very picky 6 year old who can only eat very specific things so eating at kbbq is out of the question. Cham Soot Gol allowed him in without any fuss even though he wasn't going to eat. The server was very nice. We were seated right away which was convenient given that it was pouring rain. It was a little funny because all of the tables had 1 side booth and the other side chairs. But it worked out fine. We ordered from the lowest menu. We enjoyed the brisket, garlic pork belly, kimchi fried rice and all the other banchan. Everything was yummy! To end the meal, they offer ice cream. So good! I absolutely love Cham Shoot Gol, it's hands down one of my favorite KBBQ spots. I live in LA and have no problem making the drive out to Anaheim just to eat here. Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed with the service during my last visit, but I noticed none of the usual staff were there they're normally on top of everything. The sides are always solid, the meat is on point, and I really like that they give you ice cream after your meal. This was the first place I ever saw do that, and now you see dessert offered at a lot of KBBQ places but Calm Shoot Gol started it. When it comes to KBBQ, this spot takes the cake. Our favorite meats were the bone-in beef short rib and sliced beef short rib of the B menu. The premium pork belly, ribeye steak, and kimchi fried rice weren't anything to write home about. Love the scoop of ice cream that is included at the end of the meal. Great service! However, we were there on Halloween and it was unusually empty. Been to all the CSG locations now after visiting this one. Like the others, this one is pretty good. Service is always super friendly and they make sure you are taken care of. Meat quality really good and they don't skimp on the portions when you order. Always love how they make sure you have enough banchan and condiments. Unfortunately, the last two times we've visited, while the food was still excellent, the service was extremely disappointing. This is my fave KBBQ in Orange County! We came in on a Tuesday night, it wasn't busy, so the service started off slow. It was our first time coming on a slow night, I think we'll stick to weekends lol. The restaurant was clean and the food was fresh. I highly recommend just doing the more expensive menu option for the premium meats...SO WORTH IT! Great service regardless of being slow. While all the other tables around us were getting great customer service. Even when pressing the button for service, they kept coming to us with such a negative attitude. Cham Soot Gol has great banchan and good meats. I only eat the beef brisket so I can't speak to the other meats but it's nice and thin and the taste is good. They serve bottled beer, soju, and sodas and includes banchan including red cabbage kimchi, japchae, bean sprouts, cucumber, potato salad and you can order extras such as tofu soup and steamed egg. There are other banchan and other items but I can't recall offhand. At the end of the meal they serve pre packed ice cream in a container. Green tea, chocolate malt, and strawberry. There is a large parking lot and the inside of the restaurant is pretty spacious. read more

Their basic "A" menu is fairly priced and offers a great selection of quality meats. But no cheese corn, sadly! Service is great for KBBQ! A lot of places can be hit or miss, but Cham Soot Gol is very consistent. Our servers were friendly, checked in with us frequently, and brought water refills/cleared plates without us having to ask. This has been my experience across several visits here. The restaurant is a decent size and kept pretty clean. It can get a little loud but that's expected for a KBBQ joint. The grills seem to be on the weaker side, though, so cooking can take a bit longer than expected. They end the meal with free ice cream that's surprisingly good. Just came out of this restaurant and had to write a review about their awful service. We first had a good impression because the food is actually good. Meat quality was better than other AYCE I've been to, but the service is absolute shit. We found this bug in our salad and the only thing the one of the waiter does is silently take the salad back and the napkin with the dead bug then brings back a new salad again with no apology or just literally no word at all. We lost our appetite just by how much the service sucks and unfortunately changed our mind about not wanting to be back here. Been coming here for over 10 years now and this place does not disappoint. Sure, there are a number of kbbq spots down the street that are newer and flashier, but Cham Soot Gol is where you wanna go. The meat selection is the perfect amount of variety and the quality of the meat is great. They don't skimp on the meat portions, but they also don't overload you with one single item. Not usually a bulgogi gal, but theirs really surprised me. The meat wasn't super sauced with the marinade and the quality really stood out. That was probably my favorite meat of the meal, but honestly all of the meats were tasty and I would get them all again. One fun perk of this AYCE spot is that you get ice cream at the end. Pre-COVID you were able to get essentially AYCE ice cream, but now they serve it to you at the end of your meal. Not necessarily as fun, but love that they still have it. Service was most excellent with Kunal, who remembered all 10 items our group requested at one time and he brought them all with nothing missing, only remembering them off the top of his head... incredible! It was my first time at this kbbq place and we arrived a little later in the evening but still got seated promptly. Once we got seated, our server Bryan asked us if we wanted any drinks at first. Afterwards, we ordered our meats and a different server named Sam came and provided our meats. The meat quality here is actually really good and they don't give us the cheaper quality meats just because we're young assuming we don't know any better (it's happened before). The side dishes were pretty good as well. We also ordered steamed egg, kimchi fried rice, and tofu stew as well. The kimchi fried rice was good, steamed egg can be improved, and the tofu stew was too little compared to other restaurants. They provide garlic, jalapenos, ssamjang, and pickled jalapeno/garlic on request. They also give ice cream at the end and it is ROCK HARD! My spoon did not go in at all... def needs to thaw for a while before consuming. Overall, the restaurant itself was nice and all the employees seemed to be very attentive to what was going on. Made my first trip back to Cham Soot Gol in Buena Park since the pandemic and it definitely didn't disappoint. They have a good selection of meat and other items on their menu. Staff is attentive and checked in with us often. Always a positive experience here and we've been patrons for many years. Cham Soot Gol is on Beach Boulevard in Buena Park very close to Knotts Berry Farm and other popular attractions in this area. They are located in a small center with other businesses and have plenty of free parking in front of their entrance and surrounding to service patrons. The inside space was clean overall and as mentioned, the staff were attentive, helpful, and efficient. We ordered a ton of meat including the brisket, diamond cut pork belly, spicy beef, bulgogi, and much more - all were tasty. The steamed egg was also a hit at our table. At the end of our meal, they were still offering ice cream, however, the ice cream was pre-scooped instead of self-serve as it was pre-pandemic. Definitely a nice touch to cleanse the palette after the meat fest. Overall, Cham Soot Gol is a solid AYCE Korean BBQ option in the area that is priced fairly and justifies the quality and service.
