So spacious for a hotel in Hong Kong. Could be dehumidified a bit more but the in room climate control was very responsive. Arrived well before the 3PM check-in but luckily my friend and I were hungry so we left our luggage with the hotel and by 1:30PM they had our room ready! There's a nice little corridor with a huge shelf of wine racks, shelves, mirror, and a mini fridge for you to put your stuff. Across from that is the bathroom that has a standing shower and also a dim make-up area. Two small and very firm beds that might not be long enough for people taller than 5'10". A table with two chairs and a small tv. Amenities include shampoo, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste, and shower cap. If the mirrors in the bathroom and across the bathroom aren't enough, there's a full length one right outside the bathroom on the right! Plenty of outlets scattered throughout the room as well as lights and light switches. The view was quite nice, windows huge. Front desk staff was efficient and the left luggage/concierge guys have great memory. Sai Ying Pun is a great location if you're staying on Hong Kong Island because it's not as crowded as North Point to Central, has several accessible lines of transportation from subway, tram to bus, and there are a lot of great places to eat from Chau Kee to Zhen Restaurant. Paid about $75USD/night here.

Hong Kong review #10 I planned to be in Hong Kong for 4 days and of course needed a room. Unfortunately Hong Kong is far from the inexpensive bargain the Philippines is, so I had a little "sticker shock" while I searched for a room. During the time of my stay (last week) $80 (US) a night was either a hostel, or a hotel where the room is barely larger than the bed. After looking through numerous options, I booked this Best Western Plus location for HK$760 ($98 US)++ per night ($108 night/total). http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=tsR41GcvFiCpaNqF3OrHHQ LOCATION: In the Sai Ying Pun area, just west of Sheung Wan and Central. Lots & lots of local restaurants and shops within walking distance (a few minutes or less)! The HKU Metro station is a 5 minute walk away, which allows you to get almost anywhere in Hong Kong very easily. TRAVEL TIP: Aside from the nearby HKU metro station, there are also electric trollies which run up and down Dex Voeux Road right in front of the hotel. The best part is the cost, just HK$2.30 (roughly 30 cents US) per person. It's very easy to get to the ferry terminal, Central and beyond. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF%E9%9B%BB%E8%BB%8A-%E9%A6%99%E6%B8%AF?reviewid=fpaE-KNErKl1fcixcyagdw&select=vrtdxABbabbrpPrnH_aT8g SERVICE: Friendly, polite and helpful front desk staff, plus a very knowledgeable, very helpful and friendly concierge, who had no problem telling about the small restaurants the locals go to. He also shared a number of money saving tips (like the trolley), which I really appreciated! Customer service here was far better here than other Best Western locations I've stayed in the US. The outside of the hotel: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=_q73oNSQOhHMLjuQOFzCEw The lobby: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=U6LQLAwS8DZLphbng927Sg The front desk: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=z1HkwlpGHrgVCfoGw0etFA I booked a "superior room" and upon check-in was surprised to learn it was actually a 1 bedroom suite! When we got to the room, I was quite impressed as it was very nice! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=Au7AheTqvSlBhSFaADp0Lg http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=DzLl01YIx4ZzXV3XxZ8Lyg http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=7W3DjZi0Y3wD_BJGGQOp-A http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=6CtpXrEAk-4W3JmptNj3vA http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=TWBYd5cdrZUce_kVkCpwaw http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=I9yiV3nOD7GN9W3Mzr5bRg http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=48AVmRrWhgT6cT56uVK9aA The very nice marble bathroom! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=njM4RLpyEEUt_YwsXYFTAA http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=dnjmxrGdtVPlH8sb72rCCg FREE WI-FI: Yes it's free, but be warned, it works well in the morning and day time, but it is totally and completely useless in the evening! It's not that it's slow, it is "don't even waist your time trying to log in" non-existent!! You're much better off buying a local SIM card for your mobile phone (from any 7-11) and setting up a local Wi-Fi hot spot thru your phone! Internet via mobile phone is SUPER ULTRA FAST in Hong Kong! They offer a breakfast buffet, which in my case, was not included with the room. The front desk offered me breakfast coupons at 50% off - HK$54 ($7 US) and after an exhausting first day, I bought 2 for the next morning. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor, which is interesting because the elevators stop at the 5th floor. You must walk 2 flights of stairs to get there. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=tZFHoEsJ7JwjTW9iov05dA They have the usual variety of Asian and (mostly) Western breakfast items to choose from, hot and cold cereal, eggs, ham, English sausage, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, fruit, salad, bread and pastries. Everything that I tried was fine, but didn't "wow" me enough to buy any more coupons for breakfast. Once was enough. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/華大盛品酒店-香港?select=nm6bWyCv5ZYmSpibnUXwAQ OVERALL: Great customer service and concierge, awesome room, just O-K breakfast buffet and completely useless wi-fi in the evening. Overall experience was still very positive and worth a rock solid 4 stars!

What used to be the Ramada hotel has been bought by Best Western for at least one plus year and it's not the Best Western Plus. Nothing crazy special about the hotel, but it's just good enough for short term stay or even a long term stay as it is pretty affordable. Pros: Large size rooms, compared to a lot of other hotels, in HK, especially in the Western District. The bathroom is also bigger, along with actual legit hallways. Large safe is clutch too. Affordable. In off seasons it could go for less than 45 bucks a night. The cheapest I got was 33 bucks for one night! (To put that in perspective, that's cheaper than one night in Fontana, CA in the middle of nowhere.) During peak season it could get up to low 200s though. 2 Christmas ago I booked a night for 210 USD and that was the most expensive it has gotten for me personality at this hotel. Quick check in services, efficient front desk staff who are also pretty nice. Housekeeping is solid as well! Have been comp upgraded a few times, although that could also be because we are regulars. Cons: A tad bit far from the MTR. (It's really not that far, just a 5 min walk.. But in HK I could get to a bus stop quicker then that most likely, which means bus would generally be the first option) It's an old hotel.. When it was taken over by Best Western, the old sheets and pillows remained.. It's pretty noticeable too as you can definitely tell the upholstery and bedware have seen its days. All in all, this is still my go to option to stay in when I visited family in HK as they live in Sai Wan and it's ultra convenient to see them by staying here. The affordable price is a key factor too since I generally stay for 15 plus nights at a time.

I liked the tea cookies (chocolate and matcha) the best... Breakfast: hot continental and much more, made to order eggs and noodle soup. I also enjoyed the rice rolls & dim sum. Yum yum! Room: On the smaller end and wasn't crazy about the watery lotion but I think it's the same brand used across all Courtyards... Would stay again in a heartbeat - esp for the breakfast!!

Pretty darn convenient if you don't like paying for the train or taxi. Pros - very close to the bus stop in which you take in AND out of the city to the airport - offers in-town shuttle service - pretty much sound proof next to the other rooms, but if someone is making a ruckus in the hall, you will hear it. - pretty decent space and even though it's an older building, needs some tlc, it's pretty nice/comfy Cons- no outlets where you need them. There is an outlet on one side of the bed so it's not handy for 2 people staying in one room. There is no outlet in the bathroom so you can't curl/straighten your hair in there. You could do your hair right outside the bathroom next to the only other mirror in the room :/ Speaking of bathroom, the toilet is helllllla loud when you flush. Do note this location is far from the MTR. There is a tram stop nearby though and you can ride for $2.50 HKD hehe.

Filled with shops, high & low, food and easy access to convenience stores like 7/11 on the MTR level. Easy walk out to neighborhoods like Wan Chai for local eats, and strolled a little further to Central or CWB! Be sure to do booking/resy for restaurants - seems to be the way to go. The hotel itself is well maintained. The rooms are beautiful, even is it's a little dated in some areas (bathroom) but the views are amazing looking at the hills, trees and houses above. Love that they provide international plugs already, so no need to have your converters. Hospitality: staff are all friendly, warm and welcoming. They always greet their guests with a smile. Housekeeping team - top notch! I'm so glad we picked JW, over the Conrad (ugh don't ask, had the worse experience in Singapore)... since we are members of both rewards programs. I feel like the JW is more on brand as their top tier namesake. I'm happy to be a Marriott Bonvoy member and excited for more stays! Pro tip: with the Marriott Bonvoy, you get late check out, so if you decide on a late flight, you don't need to rush. Just ask Concierge to make a note of it.

Our family of four booked eight nights with Hilton Garden Inn for our stay. We were greeted and…read morewelcomed with a Hilton Honors gift bag with two cans of Coca-Cola and two packs of snacks. Our room is equipped with two twin beds, a desk and chair, a refrigerator, complimentary bottles of water, and basic toiletry. Do not expect this room to be as spacious at the Hiltons in other international cities because Hong Kong real estate is a luxury. There is less than a foot of space between the two beds. Although it is not ideal for most people, it worked for us because we have young children. The narrow space is less of a hazard for our younger daughter to fall in because she tends to move a lot in her sleep. We had a slight hiccup midway through our stay in which the water did not properly drain in the shower. They were quick and efficient in resolving the issue and even brought us extra complimentary bottles of water. They have breakfast in the hotel but we opted out and went venturing for more local options. There are plenty within a 15-minute walking radius. There are also two MTR stations nearby and we used both of them extensively during our stay.

I just checked out 4 hrs ago and am writing this while my memory of it is fresh. It may have been…read morethe jet-lag induced mental fog during my overnight stay but I found this property to be one of the best HGIs I have ever been a guest at. I know that is a strong statement but my travel habits put me in hotels about 75 nights per year and 90% of them are within the Hilton portfolio of brands. That does get me treated like a high-value target by the hotels generally but this review is based primarily on the hard product of the property itself and not recognition of my loyalty status. The HGI brand in the Hilton portfolio is really aimed at being a mid-level business class hotel with full service breakfast available. It is not the cheapest brand but it is far from the nicest either (Hampton Inn and Waldorf Astoria brands have those far ends of the spectrum locked up). So no one goes to a HGI and expects a doorman, a fairly impressive lobby space, or a finer dining restaurant on property. But that is what is found here. The Kowloon location, deep in the Mong Kok neighborhood, is also ideal if you want to stay in the thick of the HK hustle and bustle with plenty of interesting areas, food shops and local life happening all around you. Walking from the hotel is easy and interesting no matter what direction you set out in and about the only downside is that it is about a 10-15 min walk to the light rail station. I don't consider that to be a deal breaker. The staff are present at the entry doors during the day while watching over some expensive cars parked in the front. During my stay, there were 4 Porsches and a Bentley parked near the door. I've never run into that at an HGI before. The rooms are typical HGI (clean, comfortable, functional) if but a bit smaller than their US counterparts. But what is lost in size is made up for by this property being a high rise building with some nice views out over the neighborhood. What does get some kudos here is the excellent shower flow pressure and the nice shower drain and door design ensuring great drainage so you aren't standing in a pond and water does not escape and get all over the floor (ridiculous half-partition showers all over Europe, I'm looking straight at you!) Finally, my stay was overnight with a departure too early to check out their breakfast option. But I'm guessing it is great given that their on property restaurant is really more of an upscale Chinese restaurant and not the usual HGI cafe'. During my stay, there were advertisements for whole suckling pig, abalone and goose foot webs, and pig lung soup to name a few. Impressive and intriguing in a great foodie sort of way! Tourists fear not as there were several western guests in the property so I'm sure you can get a proper cheeseburger if that is needed. Typical HGI standards this place is not and I only have remarkable things to report after my short stay here. I'm back through HK in 4 days and I already know where I am going to choose to stay!

A minor annoyance was that the area that housed the toilet made a dull whooshing sound, which came from either the ceiling or the walls, and was continuous and quite annoying if the door was left open, but it wasn't an issue if the door was shut closed.
