Stayed for one night in June in a suite facing Victoria harbor. The suite was modern, beautiful, and clean. It was perfect for viewing the 8 pm Symphony of Lights on Hong Kong island and you can stream the audio soundtrack from your phone onto the speakers in the room. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. We travelled with our two daughters and the suite had kids robes and kids cups and toothbrushes waiting for them. The lounge was wonderful for a quiet breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails. And the minibar in the suite was well stocked with sodas, juices, water, tea and coffee. The suite was reasonably priced versus suites in other hotels and allowed an occupancy of two adults and two children. Definitely recommend this hotel. read more

We did not stay at the hotel but Today I had a special treat. DURAIN high tea! Every dish was centered around one of my favorite and one of the most misunderstood fruits on the planet. While a lot of people hate the smell, texture, and flavor, I absolutely LOVE IT That funkiness you just can't get anywhere else. The problem is that it can easily be overwhelming. The fresh durian and the durian ice cream were the best. The others like the pandan and choux pastry were probably a little too infused with durian. I think I prefer the regular versions to the durian ones. Overall, a GREAT experience. We had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Icon! Firstly, it's a beautiful hotel with stellar customer service. The service is due to the fact that the tourism college is connected to this hotel, so they're very committed to making sure the students know the proper way to treat customers. Secondly, all the amenities that come with the stay were fabulous! We opted for a Harbor view King room on the executive level. Totally worth the extra coin!! Our mini bar was filled everyday and everything in it was delicious and complimentary. The breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor was a real, quality buffet. It had dim sum, traditional English breakfast items and American items as well. There was an omelette station, an udon station and a fresh juice station! This buffet was complimentary with our executive room. You could also enjoy breakfast upstairs in the Above & Beyond lounge, which we tried once. But it was a menu only option and the buffet was too good to forgo. Another perk of the executive room was the complimentary tea time and cocktail hour in the Above & Beyond lounge. The rooms are a little lacking of soundproofing, so I'd suggest earplugs and white noise if you're a light sleeper like me. read more

I stayed at a couple nice hotels prior to staying here and this is noticeably mediocre compared to the Gateway Hotel, the Langham Hotel and the Peninsula Hotel nearby. Perhaps these high ratings show that Hong Kong hotels have a higher caliber than hotels from other parts of the world? This is an experimental hotel for showcasing student designs and training for students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic, so it does have many interesting and unusual designs. Some of which are more idealistic than practical. On the good side, the rooms are way larger than almost every Hong Kong hotel, and it looks nice in pictures. However the location is not as nice. It is windier outside and the air quality is not as nice. The harbor is also more construction-looking here. And the shopping nearby are of lower quality. They do provide shuttle service to the better areas nearby and they also offer a free heavy cellphone that showcase interesting tourist attractions and eateries. The hotel's build material is cheaper than most hotels and the cheap wood veneer shows noticeable wear. The build quality is also inferior because the students are not as experienced in construction. Service is also noticeably worse than all the hotels mentioned above. Overall, if you find a good deal or if you need a large room, this may be nice enough. Also, if you like experimental designs, this is a fantastic showcase. I would highly *not* recommend paying more than other hotels for this though. read more

My wife and spent 4 nights here and opted for the Club 80 Suite. The property was in an ideal location; not far from the Harbour and a 5 minute walk to the Hung Hom MTR Station. The room was incredible! The staff were very helpful, extremely nice and accommodating! The afternoon tea at 3:00 was a nice break after our morning adventures throughout Hong Kong. It was a nice touch to use anything in the mini bar and not have to pay for it - all included! The Market breakfast buffet was included in the price and the food and options were amazing! I'm very picky when it comes to hotel rooms, almost to a point where I'm a hotel room snob. I need a place that looks luxurious, has a great location, and a NICE bathroom (one of my most important factors). I eventually saw all the awards and great feedback for Hotel Icon (especially for luxury), so I chose to book it. I made a great choice as this hotel is everything I could imagine it to be. They HOOK IT UP in the room. Seriously, they want to make sure you are happy. Complimentary mini bar that is refreshed every day (full of snacks/drinks/alcohol). Free smartphone included in your room that you can borrow and it even includes free unlimited data and international calling. Free Wifi in all of the rooms and a great Nespresso coffee machine which I used frequently trying to adjust to jetlag. Also the bathroom includes a free amenities kit with anything you could imagine. Talking about the bathroom, daaaaaaaaaamn. Rain fall shower and a separate bath tub with a built in tv? That's what I'm talking about. The look of the bathroom was actually what made me book this hotel in the first place. Great service here as well. Everyone in the lobby was super friendly and the front desk even upgraded my harbor view room to a club harbor view room (which is one of the highest floor rooms). The view was amazing at night as you could see the whole city lit up as a backdrop to the harbor. Location isn't bad either. I took the Airport Express train from the airport to Kowloon station. Hotel Icon then has a complimentary free shuttle bus to the hotel. Part of me wishes I booked a hotel in Central as I spent most of my days there, but Tsim Sha Tsui wasn't bad. There's tons of food and shopping in the area. Also transportation isn't really an issue between TST and Central (except late at night), so taking the metro and ferry was very easy. I'll definitely think about coming back the next time I'm in HK if I don't book a hotel in Central. read more

I am loving this hotel! So glad we booked it for 1 night during our short stay in Hong Kong. It's centrally located in Kowloon, close to some of the major attractions such as Avenue of the Stars, TST Star Ferry to Central, and plenty of museums nearby. You can even take the hotel's complimentary shuttle to take you down to Peninsula Hotel and Harbor City shopping mall for some fun! What I loved the most about this hotel was: (1) FREE use of their cell phone (in the room) to make local and international calls. What other hotel provides this type of service? (2) FREE mini bar inside the room, filled with drinks, water, soda, candy, etc. (3) FREE use of their outdoor swimming pool, with great panoramic views of the harbor (4) FREE use of their gym facilities (5) Morning buffet breakfast is not included, but you can choose to dine at your own cost (which is what we did) (6) Concierge service was friendly and knowledgeable, staff was outstanding and efficient. (7) FREE in-room Wi-Fi Ok, now that I think about it -- I guess these amenities and services are not necessarily FREE, but more that they are all included in your nightly rate. The hotel is modern, chic and draws a diverse set of clientele. I struggled with my rating of this hotel but they get 4 stars because of the design, nespresso, free mini bar with m&ms and beer, free cell phone and shuttle. Did you see the sign on the picture I posted " you're not seeing double, the mini bar is free", yep and they refill it daily woohoo. This amenity is so convenient for those times when you want a beer but don't want to pay for mini bar usage or leave the room....and when you're out and about you have water and coke product options. The hotel provides a cell phone that you can take with you when you're out and about and it has free international calling. So no need to run up your bill calling home and you have someone else's wi-fi to use when needed. Honestly, all hotels need to consider this option. The hotel is in a not bad but odd location, so they do offer a shuttle service to the train station. I also liked the design of the room and the view was great. My issues with the hotel: not all staff is friendly, we received a few are you staying here stares and the worst one was the young lady who turned her nose up at me and made me feel uncomfortable when we returned one evening. I was freezing and exhausted so I had my loves sweatshirt on with the hoodie on my head. Lady I'm cold and I have every right to wear what I choose when entering or leaving your establishment. And as an employee, in hospitality, you should know better. The other issue was with the shower, the tub clogged and held water so you couldn't take an extended shower. Also, I wanted to soak in the oh so wonderful looking tub, that was large enough to drown in and rust or something kept flowing from the pipes after several attempts. Needless to say I gave up on my tub soaking desire. I will say that I'm sure the hotel would have corrected the above issues but I just wasn't in the mood to change rooms or be the complaining American. Because this lovely hotel serves as a vocational training platform for the nearby Hong Kong Polytechnics University and run by teams of seasoned professionals, everything shines. Service at every level is impeccable. The place is kept immaculately clean. The staff is very responsive and friendly. I splurged and stayed at the hotel's largest guest room -- a C 80 Suite. It was worth it. The bed is exceptional comfortable--upon arrival, the staff asked me how I like my bed and they had the bed's firmness adjusted to my liking (for my bad back). I woke up watching the sun rise daily. I simply stated in my room and watched the fireworks for the National Day. The hotel provides free shuttle service to a nearby subway station and the Harbor City Area, a shopping heaven and ferry ports. The shuttle operates until 10:30 pm. Numerous inexpensive restaurants (and expensive ones) are a short walk from the hotel. A very safe area -- there's a few nearby restaurants that remain open until 2 am. There are a couple of banks within a five minute walk from the hotel. The hotel lobby has loads of umbrellas so there is no need to bring your own umbrellas. Since Hong Kong is no longer a shopping Mecca it once was for tourists from the USA like me, even though no sales taxes are imposed on consumer goods that are purchased, the best thing to do is spend your monies on food at local restaurants and the restaurants at Hotel Icon. The hotel has a nice gym, which I used every other day since I was eating so much delicious food everyday. read more

This review will be long compared to others I've written because this place is special. Without question, Hotel Icon is the nicest hotel (for the money) I have ever stayed in. You will see this theme throughout my review because this hotel's price to value index is off the hook. Let me start by saying I almost didn't book this hotel, despite it's stellar reputation. I was concerned because their policy requires prepayment in full with no refunds. I travel a great deal, and I've rarely had to prepay a hotel room before. II began to look for more options at places like the "W" or the Marriott because I knew I could cancel if I had to. In the end, I decided to buy trip insurance and I depended on that plus protection offered by my credit card company in case something went wrong and I booked the Icon. There were no problems and. I didn't need to worry. Back to the review... Let's get the basics covered. Icon is located in Kowloon, near the waterfront. It is easily accessible by public transit and the hotel provides a complimentary (air conditioned) shuttle bus to the areas you're most likely to need access to - i.e., metro and ferry as well as copious amounts of shopping and dining. The bus driver is friendly and accomodating. There were also plenty of cheap and air-conditioned taxis available for side trips. The hotel caters to people of all nations and Westerners will feel very welcome here. Everyone I met spoke at least some English and most spoke English very well. It took me about 45 minutes to reach the hotel in a private car service coming from the airport. Icon is very, very affordable (compared to luxury hotels in the USA anyway) and it offers uncompromising, top-quality. Those two things rarely go together - i.e., affordable and top quality - but they go together just fine at Icon. It has everything you need including 24/7 concierge service, three restaurants, nightly turndown service, a rooftop swimming pool as well as a nice spa and gym for working out. The hotel is modern and very energy efficient. The design is beautiful and is very upscale. You can tell that feng shui in was on the mind of the designer. It is a peaceful and harmonious place in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world. The staff is highly attentive and eager to please. This is one place this hotel really excels. Their attention to providing their guests with the highest level of service is unmatched at this price-point anywhere else I've been. And come to think of it, even more expensive places that I've stayed in didn't offer this five-star service at every turn. From the first contact with the hotel to the last, I was treated like a VIP. Every employee at the Icon who interacted with me seemed genuinely interested in being helpful and with a smile. These people act like we're paying them a fortune when actually, we're not. Similarly situated hotels cost two to five times more. This is the basis for my belief that the Icon is a tremendous value. I arrived tired after my 13-hour flight from Seattle and the hotel staff took me to the 28th floor for a private check-in experience that was friendly, efficient and detailed. I was in my room in no time. They brought my luggage up about 20 minutes later and I was asleep 10 minutes after that. The room I stayed in was very clean and tidy. It was also huge. There was a living room, with cable-TV (including HBO) and a small alcove with an office desk including phone, plug-ins, and even a printer. A free cell phone is provided so you don't have to buy a SIM card here. There was a separate bedroom and two bathrooms; one with tub and shower. The master bath is very spacious and the shower is very cool - if offers you the choice between a shower head hanging on the wall - and another head streaming water straight down on you - or a mixture of both. I was always sad when my shower was over. The towels are very large and luxurious. I didn't try the bathtub but it looked very nice. No hotel is perfect, but this one comes as close as is humanly possible, especially when judged based on its value. Icon's such a nice place that I will come to Hong Kong again just to visit Icon again. On this trip - I spent less than I will for a much lower quality hotel that I am using while in NYC in late October. Meanwhile, for roughly $375 a night, I got a five-star luxury experience, including free breakfast, access to everything I needed, and great service that I would expect to pay much, much more for. Easily one of my favorite hotels of all time. This property has literally thought of everything to make your trip to Hong Kong enjoyable and utmost comfortable. Let's start with the staff. They are incredibly helpful and welcoming, providing tons of resources to make your stay extra awesome. We arrived a bit early and were given free drink vouchers and a key to access the pool, gym, and sauna for a bit. There's a free shuttle service within Kowloon that runs every 20 minutes, always well stocked with chilled bottled water! Louis at the concierge desk also went above and beyond to help us plan our evening from the ferry to night markets. When it comes to the rooms, there's nothing that could be improved. They literally have it all. From a completely free mini bar to luxe bath products, I felt right at home. You even have access to to a smartphone which you can use as a portable hot spot, a printer in the room, as well as a conference telephone in case you need to handle some business. The bathrobes were also some of the comfiest I've ever worn. Did I mention, the beds were amazing too? And let's not forget the luxurious bathroom; I wish I had more time to enjoy another bubble bath in the incredible tub. The pool on the 9th floor rooftop pool has an amazing view of Causeway Bay. It was so relaxing and serene. Paradise to me is an urban oasis where the city life is still at my fingertips, and I am counting down the days until I can take another dip in the pool here. Let's start off with that I hate being that 4 star in a sea of 5 stars. And, I agree with all my fellow Yelpers: this is a 5 star hotel. Hands down, especially for the price. I'm pretty sure their rooftop pool may be the nicest I'll ever swim in...ever. Those views of Hong Kong harbor? Swoon. Definitely upgrade to a harbor view; worth waking up to it. The hotels also houses I believe 3 restaurants, a hotel bar ( that seems to be a hopping spot for afternoon tea), and great service. The inside is modern, hip and quite luxurious. The rooms are well done, the beds comfy and there's HBO! The gym near the pool is 5 stars. Clean, modern and jogging to the views of Hong Kong, I mean seriously. Oh, the handy! Not that type, you sicko. The free phone with free calling anywhere in the world and free internet data to tether to your real phones. PRICELESS. So, why 4 stars? Just a few of my quips that left me with some slight disappointment: - Location. TST is a great area, albeit chaotic and busy (but what part of HK isn't?). It boasts the best views of Hong Kong, so regardless, go check 'em out. However, getting to and fro the main metro stop deemed daunting, unless you want to take a cab every time. Which I mean cabs are cheap as hell in HK, but I'm a walker! It would take sometimes up to 30-40 min to walk less than a mile due to the massive amounts of people and construction. There seems to not be a direct way to walk anywhere in HK. At one point we took the complimentary shuttle - and due to traffic, it took close to an hour. One hour to get 1 mile. INSANE. - Although that mini bar is free and stocked daily, you get some coke, water, juice, 2 beers and 4 small - teeny - think Halloween status packets of m&m's. A nice touch, but not lavish by any means. Don't let this be a driving force of your decision making! :) - Service was stellar. No doubt. However, we were told we'd receive 15% off all restaurants when we checked in on Friday (with a Monday AM departure). We opted on our last evening, Sunday, to splurge and eat at the pricy Chinese restaurant on the 28th floor. When time to pay, we asked about the discount and were told that's only valid Monday-Thursday. That's fine, but we weren't told that and why even tell us that as we really weren't going to be able to participate in that offer. I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding, but again, sadly, left a bad taste in one's mouth as we thought we were saving $20-$30. Icon is a great stay, no doubt about it. The rooftop pool alone makes me want to tell you to book immediately. As a newcomer to HK and only a few days to explore, I think I'd suggest to check out some hotels in HK proper. read more

Hotel Icon is one of the most undeniably likable hotels I've ever stayed in, friendly and comfortable with a ton of personality. I came to Hong Kong with my family and stayed at Icon for four nights. We had an excellent time. We booked three nights on the club level and one night in regular rooms, since we were getting in too late our first day to enjoy any of the perks. My mom took care of all this months in advance and got a monster of a good deal on it all. It was after midnight when we checked in, and we were happy to be put in the club level rooms right away, with only the perks removed. This way we didn't have to switch rooms the next day. Check-in took a long time for some reason, but can't complain about any of Icon's service. I guess there's some kind of training component to this hotel? Like people learn hospitality skills here? In any case, everyone we dealt with was extraordinarily warm and helpful. Special thanks to the concierge, who was of great assistance throughout our trip. Our rooms were lovely, all on the 23rd floor. My husband and I were in 2305 and we had nice view (though the view on the other side was even better). The bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom clean and pretty with an attractive shower shaped like an eye. All of the stationery and little room accessories were super cute (and much of it for sale). I took a pen that was shaped like a fat little pencil. Each room also came with a Handy, a cell phone with full internet that doubled as a WiFi hotspot for our own U.S. cell phones. This was extremely handy, as my mom noted, giggling, several times. Club level rooms also came with a daily allowance for laundry service (which we exceeded in the end, forgetting we'd only gotten three nights--whoops). This was an expensive service, but those clothes came back looking brand new. Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, there was a full fitness floor with a glorious pool. We spent a lovely afternoon swimming with a nice view, and we weren't even looking to get exercise. And of course, we loved the restaurants. We got breakfast and happy hour included with our rooms, and went to Above & Beyond and The Market a few times each. I enjoyed the Above & Beyond happy hours, and The Market was just superfluously excellent. I'd recommend that restaurant even if you aren't staying at the hotel. But if you are coming to Hong Kong, and looking for a great place to stay in Kowloon, do choose Hotel Icon. It's a wonderful hotel with top notch accommodations and service, and it'll be my first choice on any future trips to this city. read more

This hotel has a shuttlebus to and from the airport, which is incredibly convenient. It's also in a great neighborhood with an area to walk to and around the hotel, and restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. But there's really no need to leave the hotel. The hotel is gorgeous and has a bar and lounge on the first floor, and a restaurant with an amazing view and bar on the top floor. The service here was truly perfect - five star and top notch. Everyone that works at this hotel is an expert on making guests feel like home. The guests here are a mix of mostly ex-patriates, who are often very drunk late at night, but that didn't pose a problem for me. The rooms here are huge by Hong Kong standards, and are well appointed with a complimentary minibar and great views from the rooms, a free cellphone with information for your use while in the hotel, and plenty of plugs. The bathroom is gorgeous and very spacious and with great amenities. Highly recommended that you keep this on your short list if you go to Hong Kong often. read more

I am giving this place 5 stars because I was extremely happy with my stay here. Thank you Yelp peeps for helping me find this hidden gem! I flew in on China's National day and saw a great view of the fireworks from the pool which was free for hotel guests. I paid $40, though, for unlimited wine/champagne which I took full advantage of. What a great welcome to HK! The pool: What a great way to spend the morning, swimming and lounging. Most people here, including myself, were lap swimming in the morning, and there was enough room for all of us to have our own space. One morning I had the pool all to myself and took in the breathtaking view of the harbour as I swam. Gym: The equipment was clean and windows also overlook the pool/harbour. When I was there they moved the equipment to just outside of the gym area because of construction. It didn't affect me, but could be annoying for some. Locker room: Love the sauna (which is really a steam room)! Lockers have keyless entry. The towels are huge bath sheets and very comfy. They also had all of the things necessary to get ready and excellent showers. Rooms/amenities: Free Wi-Fi! The bed was pretty comfy and I slept well. The bathroom is huge and very modern with a separate shower and tub. The tub is really deep but not too wide. Free toiletries and toiletry bag! The room itself was clean, had plenty of space to plug in devices and a usb charging station. The handy phone was excellent. Mine stopped working temporarily and that was annoying, but then starting working again later after it was full charged. It was nice having Wi-fi while out and about exploring. I was exhausted from my journey, so one night I fell asleep early and woke up in the middle of the night hungry so I ordered room service. It was western food, but really tasty. The mini bar was great too. Free water, soda, and beer and M&M's. I had the water and M & M's. Nice tea selection,water boiler, and Nespresso machine. I am addicted now, will have to get my own! Free reusable cloth bag in one of the drawers that you can take as well. Service: Great service from arrival to check-out. I asked for a room with a view of harbour but they were sold out. However, they made an effort to make my stay extremely comfortable. I think they put a temporary charge on your card for incidentals, but by the time i got back home it was already removed from my card. They also give you a key to use their locker room/pool/gym after you check out if you have a late night flight. What really convinced me to stay here was the fact that there is a hotel management school next door and this hotel uses people from there so they are super nice and ready to serve. I was able to buy stamps at the concierge and they posted all of my postcards for me. Location: I think it's a great location, but not the easiest to maneuver. Because I flew in at rush hour I took the Airport Express to the Kowloon station and the free shuttle bus was waiting to my hotel (K3 bus). The whole trip took less than 45 minutes. You can by a 3 day tourist card/pass for $350 HKD with unlimited metro and 2 airport express trips (they refund $50 HKD when you return the card) I learned how to navigate the foot bridges to the metro. I also learned that when returning you MUST know the correct stairwell exit, so keep track of the letter/number combo otherwise it will be miserable. I found taxi and Uber affordable, although keep in mind that some taxis don't want to cross the harbour if you find yourself on Hong Kong Island wanting to go back to the hotel. The hotel is not too far from Avenue of the Stars, the TST ferry, and the Temple Street Night Market. I didn't use the hotel's shuttle, but would have if I was there longer. Next time I am in town I will stay here for sure! I can't wait to explore this area more and eat at the restaurants at Hotel Icon. read more

What a hidden jewel in Kowloon. When you first arrive the great customer service starts. I was promptly greeted as I exited the Tesla. At the front desk I was warmly greeted and given a a short suggestion and tour too take since I arrived at the hotel at 6am. Each day I was there the staff from the front desk. To the gym, too the 1st floor restaurant to the restaurant green on floor 2 was overly impressive. There was not a bad experience during any part of my stay with the exception of above and beyond the restaurant on the 28th floor (see other review). I would highly recommend this hotel too any visitor too Hong Kong. I liked the Hotel Icon. The only reason it's getting four stars instead of five is the location, and an absence of a certain panache or elegance. This was my first time staying in Kowloon rather than on Hong Kong Island. Not only do I enjoy staying on the Hong Kong side infinitely more, the Hotel Icon location isn't the best in Kowloon. Tour groups from the mainland gather in throngs across the street, making passage quite difficult. There are few good restaurants and bars nearby, and it is a trek to get to the MTR station. That said, the service at the Icon was excellent. These students are trained well. (It is a teaching hostelry), and every need is taken care of. Often hotels sacrifice comfort and common sense in an attempt to create a designer's vision in their rooms. Not the Hotel Icon. The rooms were cool and hip, but also intelligent, taking the needs of the traveler into consideration. Ample storage, comfortable beds, and commodious bathrooms added to our stay. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Usually, we skip breakfast at hotels, hoping to experience a good restaurant at lunch. The Hotel Icon's breakfasts were an ultimate indulgence, not to be missed. The clientele at the Icon was quite young, and I think perhaps younger folks may think the Icon is just perfect. However, as "experienced" travelers, the Icon was missing a certain five star elegance, and again there's that location issue. Thus, the Hotel Icon is a great four star hotel. read more

We stayed in Hong Kong at the Hotel Icon for the first night of our honeymoon and we truly could not have picked a better place to kick it off. From our champagne upon arrival, to the in-room amenities, the dinner at Above and Beyond and then breakfast at Green, we were definitely exceptionally well taken care of. and that's not even the room! The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with multiple types of pillows depending on your preference. The bathroom was SO COOL. I loved the tub and the TV (definitely helped me relax after my 16 hour flight). Also relaxing - the pool (with those views again!) and the gym! I stay at hotels around 50 times per year, but this was the best experience I have ever had in my long life. The room, the bar, the restaurant, the breakfast - everything is mindblowing. The personnel of exceptional friendliness. * Wonderful oasis * This hotel is affiliated with the Hong Kong Poly School of Hotel Management, so a large number of the staff are students or trainees learning how to run a hotel. And they are being taught well! There are lots of little touches throughout the property which I really enjoyed, but they were all highlighted by the friendly energetic enthusiastic service of the staff. The room was well designed and quite spacious by Hong Kong standards, with lots of wood accents to give it a modern clean feel. Everything felt extremely clean and well maintained as well. The complimentary mini bar which was restocked regularly was a very nice touch - choice is a good thing! The deep soaking tub and separate walk-in shower also were a nice treat. There was lots of room to work at the desk and use the free wifi. They also offer a free smartphone with free data (which I didn't use as I didn't need it, but it does give free IDD calls to the States and Canada among other places) - a really nice touch for short-term visitors. The included breakfast buffet at the Market restaurant was a nice spread offering a wide variety of Chinese and Western options. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bread products which they bake in house as well. The open air pool was a nice treat too. You enter the changing room, put everything into a coded locker and then walk through a vertical water curtain to get to the outdoor pool. Not huge, but it has a nice view. Lots of fluffy towels available and plenty of space to lounge. It provides an oddly calming oasis in the busy existence that is Hong Kong. The bar upstairs served up well mixed drinks with a beautiful view too, all provided with extremely friendly service. Easy access to the Hung Hom station, cross-harbour tunnel taxis, and a complimentary shuttle bus to TST as well - although it is an easy walk. Overall a very low hassle visit in a city where hotels sometimes are a hassle. Hotel Icon really provided a welcome oasis that I enjoyed coming back to each day. I will definitely be returning! read more

The guys on the front desk found restaurants for us and helped us with every little thing imaginable. Complimentary french bubbles and snacks (which were as good as some of the food I've had in other western place's restaurants) in the Above and Beyond bar. We stayed at this hotel for five nights. It was our first trip to HK. I have to say this hotel was first rate in every way but one. The room was roomy and clean with a beautiful city view. The frig was always stocked with water, beer, soda which was replenished every day. We ate at two of their restaurants, Above and Beyond and Greens. We had two of our best Hong Kong meals in these restaurants, the former with a beautiful view of the harbor and HK Island. The service was impeccable and we were always greeted with a smile. The hotel offered a free shuttle to the TST MTR station and other points in central TST. Finally the hotel caters to Westerners, so we felt very comfortable staying there as Americans. The negative? The hotel was a bit (about a twenty minute walk) away from the subway and ferry so it was not the most convenient location. But that was a small price to pay and if I were returning to HK I would book this hotel in a heartbeat if I were to stay in TST. FIVE STARS! read more

Everything is in great condition, the staff is friendly and attentive, there's a fantastic pool/bar on the 9th floor, and a restaurant/bar with incredible views on the 28th floor. One of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure to stay in. Check-in was efficient and they even accommodated us in the early hours of the morning as our flight arrived in at 5am. The bonus of having our room upgraded to one with a harbor view was a an even nicer touch. The amenities in the room itself were outstanding. Found this hotel while looking for accommodations offering pools with a nice view of the city and, man, this place has all of that and more! Booked a two-days stay in a harbour view room which has been nothing but wonderful. Extremely clean and modern, our room was equipped with all the imaginable amenities we could have ever needed. We managed to get a room on the 15th floor and the view was very nice which leads me to suggest to pay the difference for the harbour view, if available, but as I've seen around i think the quality varies depending on the floor and location of the room itself. Up to you, now! The staff, though, is what raises this place from A to A+. Professional, polite and always attentive; most of the employees also speak English so it won't be a problem to interact. Oh, yes, one last suggestion: eat at The Market! At least once. We had the breakfast buffet included in the package yet also decided to give it a try for dinner, once, and were not disappointed. Our expectations weren't just met -- they were wildly exceeded -- by this excellent hotel. They go above and beyond on customer service and amenities (we loved the free smartphone, free international calls, free wifi, free breakfast buffet and free minibar). The rooms are contemporary, comfortable, and have fantastic views. The location is also perfect for sight-seeing or business in Kowloon or Hong Kong island. The hotels restaurants are also excellent. If business or pleasure takes us back to Hong Kong, we will definitely stay in this hotel again. FWIW, we used Airport Express to get from the airport to the hotel and back again with no problem whatsoever. We also used the hotel's free shuttle to get to the several key spots in Kowloon. Our only complaints: the seats in the Green Room restaurant look great but are very uncomfortable, same goes for the lobby seating. read more

Wifi worked well with minor inconvenience of repeated logins. Included breakfast was excellent. If you want a view ask for at least 10th floor and harbor view. Fixed price per bag laundry was novel and good value. Shuttle was provided within Kowloon, worked well from hotel but inconsistent returning to hotel and needs an inbound schedule.
