This is an excellent hotel overall. The service is fantastic, the room was very well appointed, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The lobby and checkin happened on the 6th floor. My room was also a waterfront room and the views were spectacular (pictures don't do justice). The breakfast was extensive and of high quality. They also have a very nice bar on the lobby area. A minor annoyance was that the area that housed the toilet made a dull whooshing sound, which came from either the ceiling or the walls, and was continuous and quite annoying if the door was left open, but it wasn't an issue if the door was shut closed. The hotel was also ideally located for morning walks near the water. It's also connected to a very upscale mall if that's of interest to you. read more

Hong Kong's classiness is very much alive at W Hotel. From the moment I walked in all the staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast had an amazing variety of choices, and the house keeping staff were kindly attentive. Renee assisted my friend and I with our check in. She was super helpful in providing details about the hotel's facilities and letting us know she was available to assist in making our stay comfortable. The ladies that cleaned my room greeted me when they saw me and provided me with extra water when they saw I was running low. The breakfast buffet was by far one of the most impressive I've had. There were many local flavors such as dimsum and congee as well as classic American breakfast. I appreciate the hospitable attitude of everyone at the hotel as well as their prompt responses on the bonvoy app. I enjoyed my stay at the Marvelous Suite and would definitely consider coming back to W Hong Kong for another stay. read more

We opted to stay one night during our recent trip to Hong Kong at this hotel. It is sleek and contemporary in design and offers magnificent views of the city/harbor. Brian at check in was particularly helpful with printing our boarding passes for our upcoming flight and being able to get one room ready for us (we were a party of six with two rooms) at our 1 pm check in after transferring hotels. The one drawback was location. We felt much more remote here than where we initially stayed. Yes it was half the nightly cost of the other hotel we stayed at during our trip but it was a long walk through the mall/station to get to the hotel and Google maps unfortunately failed us initially sending us completely in the wrong direction. read more

This hotel is centrally located and a few minutes walking distance from the Kowloon Station. You can check your luggage at the Kowloon Station and take the airport express back to the HK international airport as well. The hotel is inside the Element Mall which is an upscale mall with high end stores and restaurants. The hotel was great. The rooms are your typical W rooms. The view of the Harbor was very nice. Francis Tsui was very helpful. He kept my husband up to date on the family's arrival and sorted out our rooms as there was some miscommunication prior to our arrival. He definitely went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional - thanks for that! The restaurant Kitchen is nice. The breakfast buffet is on the main floor of the hotel. I love the variety of food there and the fresh juice! The person making omelettes and making the noodles every day were great (I have their names but one of the guys name was just a letter). The guy making me noodles always remembered what I go each day! The concierges (Yvonne, Hayley) were great. They definitely added a nice touch as we celebrated my birthday. They decorated the rooms with rose petals, balloons, treats and drinks along with a personal note. I would definitely come back here again! read more

My family and I love staying at the W each time we are in Hong Kong. This has been our "go-to" hotel the last 3 trips and we usually stay for more than a week at a time. Not only is the hotel very modern and well designed, the rooms are very spacious (for Asia standard) and the staff here is exceptionally great! Some of them even remembered us from our prior trips which are usually a year apart. Sammy in particular is a total sweetheart, she always took care of us, checked in with us several times during each stay, and provided us with excellent food recommendations, often times even making reservations for us. W is very fortunate to have her on their team, it's always a pleasure staying here and catching up with her! Hubby and I also love visiting the pool when we are here, excellent view of HK and nice snack bar for us to pick up food from. They often host parties up here for their guests as well. Lots of amenities that they offer their hotel guests...you seriously don't have to step foot outside (especially on hot humid days) if you are feeling lazy and don't want to leave the hotel. Sing Yin, their Cantonese restaurant downstairs is pretty good for dim sum too. Location is great and another key reason why we love staying here. You're not in the heart of all the hustle and bustle traffic but everything is still conveniently located. They also have a great hotel shuttle service that takes you to the prime shopping areas in TST. The drivers are always so nice and polite too, always helping me with my bags and covering me from the rain with umbrellas. I believe they come once every 30 mins but you should call from your room, letting them know you need to use a driver. W is also connected to the Elements which have great shops + restaurant with MTR downstairs. There is also a checkin counter at this MTR station to the airport. The amenities and service provided here is great and well worth the price for each stay! read more

Solid 4.5 stars. The hotel is well designed and the rooms are spacious. It's not that common to see a high category SPG property that's W branded and I liked the chic vibe that complemented the luxury of a very generously sized standard king room. I especially liked the daybed by the window and the view our room had over Kowloon to Central. The location is great if you don't quite want to be in the hustle and bustle of Central or want to mitigate the risk of protests interfering with your stay. We didn't have any problems during our visit but it's always good to be safe. The hotel is connected to the Elements mall which has plenty of high end shopping and food options. You can also walk through via overground bridges and underpasses to Austin and Jordan for even more local food. Transport wise, the location is great. The Kowloon MTR is in the Elements mall as is the Airport Express which makes getting around very easy. I'm taking a star off for the pool. It's got a great view of the skyline but it just felt a bit abandoned. There was no bar - it was shuttered - and the hot tub wasn't well designed. It didn't have enough of a ledge to sit on, wasn't particularly warm, and had weirdly large white water filtering apparatus on the floor. Strange. Overall, would definitely stay again. read more

My favorite W in the chain and I've been to a lot of them. Rooms are great, very clean and modern, very quiet. Views of the harbor are amazing. Woobar downstairs has some great wines. Airport train is right downstairs, connected mall is very high-end and has everything you could need. There is a Three-Sixty store in the mall that is a great upscale grocery store if you need to provision. iPhone works as a key to your room, no need for traditional door keys, very progressive. Service at every level is fantastic, from the people that check you in, that clean your room, that get you a taxi, all friendly and efficient. Everyone at the hotel makes eye contact and says hello, very nice. It's modern but not cold or stuffy, they have a "wood" theme throughout that is tasteful. I prefer this kind of modern hotel over something boring (but nice) like the Ritz. Those rooms do nothing for me, they are just for an older crowd. The W is like having a nice flat. It's not an inexpensive place to stay or eat or get laundry done, but it's a first-class hotel from beginning to end. I've been here twice in the last two week for week-long stays and again for 11 days a few months ago and it's my first choice next time I'm in HK too. read more

This is by far the best W Hotel I have stayed at. Everything was great from the food to the decor...this place deserves two thumbs up. Service: This hotel has amazing service and what you expect for a five star property. Decor: The decor was kitchy and fun (took me a minute to find the elevator button on my floor since it was set in a photo frame). Everywhere you looked there was something to see between the decor and the view. I thought the do not disturb button that lit up the book prop outside your door was fun. Most of all I loved the room. The bathroom, toiletries and amenities (including a phone so you can make local calls and have Wifi while exploring the city), tv while sitting in the bath tub were amazing. The room: Clean, comfortable, harbor view. Beautifully decorated with soft hues and butterflies. The bathtub is large and has a small TV in the wall so I could not resist. The lobby bar: Great views, busy with people, buy-one-get-one happy hour. The only issue is that, after being seated by a host, I waited 20 minutes before someone came by to take my order. The game changer: My visit in Hong Kong was only a couple of days, so I did not plan to get a local SIM for my phone. The "Handy" cell phone provided in my room at no extra charge. It was a smartphone (same size as my iPhone 6) that allowed me to make local calls, use map features, take photos, check email, and update Facebook among other things. W Hong Kong is probably one of my favorite W Hotels throughout the world for its location (love Hong Kong!), amazing views, and unforgettable rooftop pool and spa. As SPG platinum members who regularly travel for work globally, we stay in a LOT of hotels throughout the world. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would because although it exceeds my expectations in so many different avenues (location, service, accommodations, ambiance), there is definitely room for improvement (food and maintenance issues). Great, convenient location. The W is located in Kowloon, and adjacent to the high-end Elements Mall, which gives you instant access to shopping and restaurants. The Elements Mall is also an MTR hub, which simplifies navigating around the city. Accommodations are whimsical, modern and trendy. The hotel is Alice and Wonderland themed, taken to the abstract. The elevator is made of glass and encourages you to take selfies. The building is a high rise building with a rooftop pool on the 76th floor. The views, whether from the harbor or city, are spectacular -- day or night. We usually stay in the suites, which are corner units. The rooms have backlighting in every room, ultra modern bathrooms (think full walk-in showers, flush mounted sinks, concrete countertops, Toto dual flush toilets, fixtures are very angular, glass wall partitions, hidden shower drains) that provide free Bliss bath products (you get the oversized ones in the suites). The beds are super comfy and the hotel is overall, very clean. Top-notch service. The service is unparalleled and exactly what you would expect from W Hotels. The staff is courteous, attentive, responsive and very friendly. The maid service is very prompt. They are trained to exceed your expectations and as a team, they succeed in doing so. Handy is an innovative and brilliant idea. Every room comes with a Handy, which is an Android phone that offers free local unlimited 3G data that you can take anywhere with you during your stay. You can tether the Handy to your actual phone if you have an iPhone (like I do) and use iMessage for free data texts. The Handy only works in Hong Kong (something I sadly learned when I took a day trip to China) but unlimited data is AMAZING if you're stuck, like me, with a very limited Verizon international data plan. If only all international hotels offered this!! Spa and pool. Like every hotel of its caliber, the spa and pool are nothing short of spectacular except this one has stunning views to boot. You can enjoy sitting in the spa Jacuzzi overlooking the entire city from 70+ stories on top of the world. Early check-in. Because the hotel is regularly in demand, early check-in is difficult, even for SPG members. They do give you full access to the spa while you're waiting. Transportation. The first time I went to HK, I arrived by myself so we used the hotel Tesla limo, which, as you would expect, is divine. All W Hotel limos have built-in Wi-Fi, another great perk. TIP: the MTR is super clean and convenient and is the fastest way to get to the airport (Kowloon is only one of three stops on the Airport Express Train). The MTR located in Elements is also the fastest and cheapest way to travel throughout the city. Uber is also a great and convenient alternative. DO NOT TAKE THE CABS, they will rip you off (I was once arbitrarily charged extra because I had two oversized suitcases and really, what are you going to do? Argue with the cabbie who barely speaks English at the airport??). Room for improvement: _ Food. I have a lifelong love affair with breakfast and every upscale Asian hotel has an incredible, scrumptious breakfast buffet spread with almost every imaginable food option at your fingertips. Every time that I have been to W Hong Hong, my breakfast bubble is burst. The food preparation is bland, the fruit selection is not the freshest or most savory, the breads and pastries are dry, the warm foods taste like they've been sitting around for a few hours, and nothing is really flavorful. I would say equivalent to going to a Soup Plantation. Total bummer every time. * The room service, which is expensive, takes a while to deliver is also pretty mediocre. * Their saving grace is Sing Yin, the Cantonese restaurant downstairs, which is very delicious, creative in their cuisine, which independently garners a solid 4 stars. _ Maintenance. Every time I have stayed here, there has always been a maintenance issue. I've had to have a space heater delivered because the room was too cold, the shower was overflowing, the toilet was backed up, one of the ceiling lights was broken. I presume because this hotel is so frequented and often, by nature of its continued use, it has maintenance issues. Overall, if you're looking for a trendy, modern, luxury hotel in Hong Kong, I would recommend W Hong Kong. read more

I absolutely love this hotel! One of my favorite hotels in the world! I travel a lot, and this is one of the best! I'm a fan of SPG and The W! I've stayed at a few of their W properties and this spot is one of my favorites. I'd like to use the analogy of The W being like Apple. They're swanky, modern, stylish, sexy, fun, and entertaining. They carefully think out the customer's experience. I love how The W has thought of anything and everything, and they've learned to package all of it so nicely. Sooooo nice that they are able to have a store downstairs to sell some of this "cute" stuff. Below are some reasons why I love this specific property: + clean and comfortable + easy to get to off the highway when crossing the China-HK border + convenient location to the Elements mall and the Metro station. You can check in your bag and your flight at the train station. The station is walking distance, right below the W. + my company has a corporate rate that includes breakfast buffet and Internet + buffet has one of the best selections, including fresh juices! + pool with a view + pool parties and all kinds of parties (should you decide you want to) + BLISS products and a BLISS spa (which I've gone to a couple of times for a massage. Massage is good, but not cheap. If you want to treat yourself, I highly recommend it. It was super relaxing at the end of a tough work week) + the staff is extremely helpful and nice + aesthetically beautiful and modern decor I would say the only annoying thing is that it's in Kowloon. You have to take the metro or cab to go to HK Island, which is where it's cracking! However, all the pluses make it worthwhile to stay this far. I usually stay at the Sheraton if there's no availability. The W is far better than the Sheraton property which is much older, and more traditional. This is my first choice when in HK! read more

Love this hotel! Below this hotel is a mall, that connects to subway station and Airport Express station! You can check in and get to the airport within 30 minutes! It is super convenient, as long as you have an octopus card, you are pretty much set !! The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and they speak Cantonese, mandarin and English! My stay at the W Hong Kong was great. The suite was fantastic, location was super convenient if you plan to take the airport express. On your way back to the airport you can even check your luggage in before taking the train. That is a very nice touch. The bar is lively but the crowd is a little older. Service was good. This is a review specifically for the Kitchen restaurant's Sunday Brunch: Free flow Perrier-Jouet Champagne, Bloody Marys (with a great spiced salt rim) are almost worth the 798 HKD price tag... but wait there is more! Halved lobsters, fresh steamed crab, oysters and a decadent selection of sliced meats, cheeses and fondue remind me of a Las Vegas style buffet right here in HK (no need for the ferry to Macau!). True, some would say this is far too much food-- but as a very wise man once told me "you can always say yes to another excess". One thing to note, don't take any epileptic on the lift as they will likely have a seizure! read more

As awesome as you expect a W Hotel to be, in fact, one of the nicest W's in the world, but it wasn't perfect. Highlights include the 76th floor rooftop pool, the spa, and the sauna...all with spectacular views. The decor is modern and super chic as you would expect, with plenty of attention to details. However, the property itself leaves a little room for improvement. First of all, the hotel lobby is on the 6th floor, so you have to take a small and slow elevator from the ground floor to the 6th. The 3 elevators that serve this purpose are slow and aren't large enough to handle the number of people going up and down, so you have to wait a few minutes each time. The main elevators that take you to the guest rooms are also not that smart, so wait time is longer than expected also despite them being fast elevators. The rooms are spacious with floor to ceiling windows, of course. Guest rooms only reach the 38th floor, so you are still staring a long way up at the other buildings, including the 118 story ICC and Harbourside Towers. With these two giants in front, the W does have a partially obstructed view of Victoria Harbour. The view to the west offers an unobstructed view of the open water. Other sides of the building gets you unobstructed city views, but that's not the view that Hong Kong is famous for. I don't blame the hotel for the view, after all, the residential towers nearby go for upwards of US$7-8M for a 1,000 sq. ft flat, so those are certainly more worth the prime real estate than a "typical" W Hotel. Be prepared knowing that this W is just a second class citizen in this neighborhood, thus only 4 stars for me. read more

First and foremost, thanks to SPG for allowing me to use my points on such a fine establishment. The W Hotel is conveniently located on the Kowloon side just minutes away from the MTR and the airport express. Ahead of my trip, I expressed to the manager at the W Hotel that I had an early flight into HK and wanted to check-in early. Despite not being able to check-in, they were nice enough to let me use their Bliss Spa to freshen up after a long 16 hr flight from NYC. Oh, did I mention they were nice enough to upgrade our room? Beautifully designed hotel. The main draw of the hotel are the additional shops here. Bliss spa for all your spa needs, "The Kitchen" has, by far, the best boozy brunch with all you can eat seafood, and a beautiful swimming pool. They are also situated right by the "Elements Mall" with their high end shops. I haven't personally stayed at the W, but the design and ambience would make me want to. read more

They later told us that they've checked the room and found no traces of bugs so refused to give us a refund even though we have photos as proof? Never coming back and was definitely a disappointment. The hotel is conveniently located by the MTR and next to the Elements Shopping Mall, with limitless food and shopping option. The service for their SPG members are superb. Sammy, the SPG specialist went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was wonderful. She contacted us before our arrival to note our preferences. One of our rooms got upgraded to an unobstructed harbor view. The room amenities were fantastic. For such a busy hotel, the rooms were super quiet. So far, NOT good! To hold the amount of money, you held for a person on vacation is stupendous! I'm extremely upset.. I'm hoping that my stay exceeds the money gouge! Ok, now that I am back home, I would like to expound on my review. 1. For a 3 night stay at $250.00 per night, the hotel wanted to hold $2800.00USD on my credit card. I told the young lady at the front desk that the hold was excessive, and as much as I stay in hotels, I have NEVER had that type of hold. 2. My room was supposed to be an oceanview, and it was not. It was a shotty view of the barge on the side of the hotel. 3. The remote for the television sucked, barely worked, and there was a separate apparatus to control the volume of the television. 4. The toilets were tough to flush, and after a while, my room begin to smell like urine, and the toilet did not flush accurately. This is by far the worse W hotel I have stayed at, and has by far convinced me to never stay at another W hotel again. I have alot more to say, but I do not have the desire to waste anymore time on this hotel. read more

If one is looking for a place to be seen, and to say that they have stayed at the W Hotel in Hong Kong, then the W is for you. In fairness, the W is cool. Great views, good (not great) food, hip atmosphere, and excellent service. With that said, it's cool, but not comfortable. Because I am not a super wealthy hipster type person, I didn't feel comfortable here. Has a very stuffy feel to it. The bar W has awesome bartenders, great selection of premium beverages, and a good menu selection. However, the thumping music was too loud to make the experience likable. After 20 hours in route to HK, I was looking for a quiet bar to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening. Wasn't happening there. The room has a sterile feel to it. Not warm and inviting. The view is amazing, and the bed is one of the best I have slept on. Amenities are cool. My water closet had a funky smell to it. Breakfast buffet was average at best, although the service was outstanding. The hotel is attached to a super upscale mall with every high line brand you could think of; Prada, Dior, etc... Many really nice looking restaurants there as well. Summary: Pros: - Comfortable bed - Great views - Excellent and professional service Cons: - Expensive - Stuffy - Loud bar - Slow internet - Average food quality There are certainly a lot of rich "beautiful people" that stay here. If that's your cup of tea, you will love this place. If you are an average person that just enjoys a quiet comfortable hotel, then I would probably find somewhere else to stay. read more

The view was amazing. The robes comfy. The shower was incredible. The tv I hated it was so hard to change channels. Turn down service was a dream. Room service was prompt. The bell hoop was nice enough to help me to the train with my luggage and even lifted them to check them in. The driver who picked me up from my late night flight was a sweetheart too he knew just how to make me feel like royalty. This is the second year in a row I've taken my wife to the W for her birthday for a weekend. We live in Hong Kong and we appreciate it as a perfect stay-cation. We can't afford to splurge on a nice hotel stay often so when we do I recon there isn't anywhere in Hong Kong better than the W. The pool on the 76th floor (which is where I am sitting as I now type) is crazy. The sky is clear and the view is amazing. I am sipping a beer and looking out over the world and it's breathtaking. And the buffet breakfast was actually even better than the dinner, both of which were really nice. Try the ribeye. The gym is great, the room is dope, everything is really good. I will stress that our favourite thing here so far though is the staff. I get the feeling that they genuinely want to make us happy and so far have been pretty good at it. This being the first weekend pools are allowed to be open because of the virus they are obviously packed with people which we were worried about. While they are still socially distancing we have not had any waits at any point and have had full access to everything. This place is really nice. Stay here. read more

One of the best hotel experiences. Only stayed here for one night but upgraded to a the fantastic suite and it was amazing! floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom, bedroom and living room. The staff is remarkably nice and goes over and beyond. I was celebrating my birthday and they gave me two free drinks and a nice plaque with some sweets on top. The location is perfect. Right upstairs from the Kowloon metro stop. The location inside the mall is also an added bonus. Their breakfast is just amazing, a ton of options even gluten free and sushi.
