While I don't have status with Marriott, I was a guest of who was and this was a great experience! Lounge: all day access with snacks & meals during certain hours, available with a full bar, chilled drinks, and dry snacks are always available. I liked the tea cookies (chocolate and matcha) the best... Breakfast: hot continental and much more, made to order eggs and noodle soup. I also enjoyed the rice rolls & dim sum. Yum yum! Room: On the smaller end and wasn't crazy about the watery lotion but I think it's the same brand used across all Courtyards... Would stay again in a heartbeat - esp for the breakfast!! read more

They don't have an ice machine, but you can request them to bring up a bucket to you. Once you land in Hong Kong International, you can take the A12 bus directly to the hotel on Water Street, stop #5, for $45 HKG. Pretty darn convenient if you don't like paying for the train or taxi. Pros - very close to the bus stop in which you take in AND out of the city to the airport - offers in-town shuttle service - pretty much sound proof next to the other rooms, but if someone is making a ruckus in the hall, you will hear it. - pretty decent space and even though it's an older building, needs some tlc, it's pretty nice/comfy Cons- no outlets where you need them. There is an outlet on one side of the bed so it's not handy for 2 people staying in one room. There is no outlet in the bathroom so you can't curl/straighten your hair in there. You could do your hair right outside the bathroom next to the only other mirror in the room :/ Speaking of bathroom, the toilet is helllllla loud when you flush. Do note this location is far from the MTR. There is a tram stop nearby though and you can ride for $2.50 HKD hehe. read more

Perks: -Free Shuttle bus to Central Station. -Has a gym. -For platinum members, there is a lounge. Room: -Small compared to other countries but normal in Hong Kong. -Quiet because it is in a residential neighborhood. -rooms were fairly new. How do you NOT give this place a five star review? See the attached photo, that was my view from room 2609 this morning! Such a gorgeous city and Courtyard Hong Kong is right in a great part of town! The receptionists at the front are incredibly helpful, and of course, true to Hong Kong culture, they are fluently bilingual in both English and Chinese Mandarin/Canto! Rooms are cozy and come with complimentary USA power adapters for those of us traveling from the US. And that bathroom, wow! Very well styled. Just a note for those traveling from the United States, DO NOT be thrown off by the hotel room sizes. What I mean is, in the USA, hotel rooms are often times unnecessarily large. Think of the last hotel you stayed at. Did you sit in the side chair, or just in the sofa or just on the bed? Many hotels in Hong Kong are designed to be space efficient, so while there might be an office chair in your hotel room, there might not be a sofa. And that is totally OK here. Also, the windows are completely controlled by a digital switch. Fancy fancy! As far as WiFi goes... WiFi here is pretty fast, I attached a photo to my review that shows a speed test resulting in about 75 down, 75 up. I think this hotel runs on fiber Internet! Finally, the lights situation is pretty typical of Hong Kong hotels here. Put your hotel keycard in, and all the lights in the room light up! Pure, physical access control driven light switches. Makes you wonder why all hotels in the USA can't do this. All in all, very great and pleasant experience. When I come back to Hong Kong, this hotel will be my go-to. I think this is an excellent hotel. The location is very central the room is nice and the service is impeccable. The breakfast is also quite good and extremely complete. If there is one fault it is that the breakfast staff is a little off. If they cook your noodles they will forget to bring it to you until it is way over done! Their fitness center located next to the executive lounge is beautifully appointed with marvelous view of the bay. It is also extremely well kept up. All the exercise HW are in full working order. The executive lounge staff are perfectly versed in everything local and will help you get familiar with everything. I love this hotel! read more

Great hotel, great value. I always stop here in Hong Kong. All the other great reviews are accurate. Transportation is well covered by others. I had a corner room facing the water which is what I like.  Wonderful view of the working harbor. Love to see those Macao ferries coming and going. The double shade and curtain worked well, I like the shade only down partly at night so the light comes into the room at dawn through the curtain.  Furniture, linen and carpet were clean even though furniture showing some signed of use. Slippers are always nice even when the carpet appears clean.  More than one USB outlet, at both bedside and desk for the gadgets these days.  All kinds of outstanding street food steps away. I like especially the Shanghai style grilled pork buns up Des Voeux less than a block. The new cafe at the corner of the building on the street level is also good for light breakfast. Hotel breakfast buffet is good even though I did it only once during my 5 day stay. As often as I have been here, I would have appreciated comp use of the business center with printing.  That is practical. In the past, I've been also been sometimes comped the club privilege although I don't usually have time for it except for the printing. But that's just looking for freebies. If you're traveling to Hong Kong on a budget, the Courtyard Marriott Hong Kong is a great alternative to the other pricey hotels on Hong Kong Island. The hotel is little far out of the way but public transportation is readily available to get about town. It's about a 10 min walk to the nearest metro station (HKU Station). The hotel is located in a residential area on the north side of Hong Kong Island (Sai Ying Pun). If you are arriving at HKIA, you can take a taxi (approximately $45) or the Airport Express train ($13). The train will drop you off at Hong Kong Station. From there, take the free hotel shuttle bus to the hotel. The shuttle bus picks up from the arrivals level, L2. Just look for the Hotel/Limousine pick up area and follow the signs. The shuttle picks up throughout the day with the last pickup at 10:30 PM. To get around, the hotel does offer a complimentary shuttle to the Macau ferry terminal, Central Pier and Hong Kong Station (IFC Mall). Keep in mind the hotel is not located near any of the major tourist attractions. It's in a residential neighborhood so if you are looking for that truly authentic Hong Kong experience, this will be the place. But inside, the place is clean, comfortable and modern. The rooms are on the small side but will offer you modern comfort at an affordable price point. The staff members are polite and courteous. I had a lovely stay at the Courtyard Marriott. We arrived in HK in the evening and took a shuttle to the area were the hotel was. Having to ask locals which direct to walk after the drop off, we made our way in. We were greeted at the front drive by a possible floor manager where he relieved us from our luggage. I went to check in for my family. The check in process was easy, but took some time because of some special request I had. We were on our way to the rooms. Can you remember the feeling of walking into a perfectly clean room? Taking a big breath and exhaling with a smile? "HOME" for now. That was the feeling I had after a long travel. All my interactions with the hotel staff was pleasant and always greeted with a smile. We didn't have one, but 3 associates walk out to hire a taxi for our family of 5. Most taxi take 4. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the hotel too. You get some dimsum and some american breakfast choices. Check out was quick. As I rushed to check out, my family packed our bags on the hotel shuttle to the HK station. (The hotel shuttle is so convenient and it has wifi!).The front desk agent ran to the shuttle to make sure they waited for me so he can finish my check out. Once I had wifi access, I got an email of my receipt for my stay. That's why I love the Marriott. read more

This 5 Star review is very easy to give. With the staff from arranging airport pickup on our arrival, to meeting us at the main door at midnight with our room keys. The true meaning of Customer Service. We were a little worried when booking this stay that it might be too far from everything. Don't fear, with taxi service and the subway a few blocks away it was perfect. As an Marriott elite member, we always enjoy taking advantage of the Executive Lounge for breakfast or snack. Located in the heart of "Local" living. This is not a tourist location which allows to experience the daily food and transportation like the locals do! Bars, Clubs and authentic food is all a stones throw from the hotel. The hotel also has breakfast packages available and it's complimentary to Marriott Reward members at a certain point level. The bkfst options are great! The Hotel staff from the guest services folks to housekeeping are all great. Jwnnie is one of the most pleasant and friendliest person we met in Hong Kong. The world of service needs more folks like her! I rate this Hotel 4 out of 5 based on my room smelling like smoke after day 2. Must have either poor ventilation or filters from wherever the smokers are. Tolerable but enough to cost a star. read more

I was initially down to book the Renaissance, but that went up in price. Eventually, everything within reasonable walking distance to major Hong Kong attractions went up in price. Though I was hesitant on booking this Courtyard due to its non-central location, that fear quickly went away. I landed in Hong Kong close to midnight and was rather impressed that there were 2 direct buses that dropped you off within a block of this hotel (tip: get an Octopus card from the airport). Bus A12 drops you off across the front lobby and Bus A10 drops you off a block from the front steps of the hotel. During the day, you can take any number of transportation options to get where you need to go: rickety, slow tram ride, walk, hotel shuttle, taxi, Uber, MTA, etc. Hong Kong's not that large of a place and its well-developed public transportation options won't leave you stranded even though your hotel's in a residential area next to Kennedy Town. As is typical with high-density city centers, the Courtyard wasn't built on a large footprint. The lobby is tiny, manned by a couple of friendly front desk assistants, and an elevator that takes you where you need to go. They quickly checked me in, acknowledged my Gold Status and upgraded me to a Harbour View room with lounge access. Each floor only has several rooms and the hallway is narrow and compact. Despite that, the rooms are reasonably spaced, well furnished, and - if you get a harbour view room - has incredible views. While it may not be the ideal harbour view (no light show from here), it's close enough to the harbour that you're treated to ships whisking past the water in the morning. I'm more impressed that even though this hotel is close to a decade old, the rooms are in immaculate condition and very tastefully done. The bathroom is flanked by a large circular mirror and a glass-backed wall so you can take a shower or dump (ideally not at the same time) while looking at the harbour. The beds are comfortable and the Wi-Fi is insanely fast as I was hitting near 100 Mbps. Lounge access provided a decent, albeit small spread for breakfast but truthfully was not necessary for Hong Kong. As this was the tail end of my trip and I wanted to sleep in, I didn't access the lounge until the last day but they had a decent western breakfast with some Asian options (congee and the like). Only real downside is that the cleaning lady came in at 10 AM to clean the bathroom while I was asleep and promptly woke me up. Also, unlike other hotels in the area, this place doesn't have a rental phone you can take with you for free internet. Be aware that the hotel shuttle operates hourly so it may or may not be the ideal option for taking you to the airport. Thankfully, Hong Kong Station has check-in desks at the train station (!) and taxis/Uber here are plenty cheap. Would stay again. read more

This is a terrific little hotel in Kennedy Town. Yes, it's a bit far, but it has a free shuttle that runs every 30 minutes and drops you at IFC/Airport Express, Shun Tak/Macau Ferry Building, Citibank/Garden Road. It's also 1 block from the tram, across the street is a bus stop. Up Water Street, past Ramada (across the street) 2 block up is High Street, a bunch of fun cool restaurants. The hotel itself has a decent size room, American style double beds, so 2 per room can sleep 4 people. Coffee/Tea amenities, and the renovated rooms have shower stalls (no tub), with see through glass into the room (so for privacy you can draw the blinds down). Slippers and robes. Nice! If you have club privileges you can have breakfast in the lounge or in their 1 restaurant on the 2nd floor MoMo. The buffet breakfast everyday is a smorgasbord and worth the club price. You can fill yourself silly with Asian, Western style food, noodle made to order, eggs, made to order, cold cuts. At night they have a sea food buffet - go early as most of the good stuff goes quickly and is not part of the club fare. The lounge has cocktails that's ok, the snacks are ok. It's the breakfast that's worth the lounge price. There's 3 computers on the lounge with printers and decent reading materials and coffee/tea free all day long. I was first here in 2008 and back last week. I'm a repeat and so long as I get the complimentary upgrade for club floor and club privileges, I'm not going anywhere fast. read more

This is an OK hotel in a middle of nowhere inconvenient location. This is my third stay(my work has a corporate rate here) but I made the huge mistake of staying here with my kids on this occasion. The good Great view Free shuttle bus to central Modern bathroom The bad Small not so great gym Tiny bedrooms Awful food (I stayed at the excelsior for work last week and the food there was a lot better. If they were a 8 for food this hotel is a -2. There was hair on the plate at Momo cafe too) Far from shopping, restaurants and nightlife Far from the MTR (underground) In conclusion I would choose somewhere more central or Causeway Bay next time I'm in HK read more

So easy to find if you take the subway from the airport. Check in was a breeze and our gal was very friendly and accommodating. The room was not to small but was quaint. The decor was pleasant and they made great use of the space. We had a normal room with windows on 2 sides. There are electric blackout curtains which was SO nice! They were not stingy with the AC so was very pleasant and cool, great location, across the street from the bus which takes you to Kowloon Island in minutes. Ordered Takeout from McDonald's, yes McDonald's delivered and enjoy it on our plush bed. Took 45 minutes but at 3am I'm not one to complain! Outlets on the nightstand which is hard to find nowadays. Circle K and 7-11 were right downstairs, would definitely stay again next time we are in Hong Kong. read more

I love the Courtyard Hong Kong on Connaught! Rooms are trendy, have great city and Harbor views all around, but above all the Staff is amazing. Keith at the front desk is the man, he is always very attentive to anything I need, and has great suggestions for tourists to visit in HK. The Courtyard is perfectly located- short cab ride away from Central and Wan Chai, but its in more of a residential neighborhood, so its pretty quiet. I will stay at the Courtyard every time I visit Hong Kong! read more

A lovely and very clean boutique hotel with modern accommodations and helpful staff. We only stayed for two days and did not eat in the dining room. The concierge staff guided us to a very expensive restaurant one night and called to reserve a table in our name. The meal was good but not for $100/person. That is my one complaint as I'm certain there was a kickback or other gratuity to the hotel from the restaurant. read more

However, aside from the failure to accommodate the convention attendees like I complained about in my original review, I found the staff to be extremely accommodating. They bent over backward to make me happy. So it wasn't the worst stay of my life. Great hotel in a dog of a location. - however it does appear that other hotels and traveler friendly stuff is coming, so this may change. read more

I am giving this hotel two stars because most other Marriott hotels in the world I would give four or five stars for. However, this one is unique. The executive lounge does not serve mixed drinks because apparently the cost cutting oriented food and beverage manager doesn't deem it necessary to be like ALL THE REST of the Marriott hotels. They also have a very limited selection of beer in the executive lounge. In the room there is no bottle opener. That SUCKS!! The rooms are clean and modern, but there are no movie channels in the selection of TV channels to watch. So, you are stuck with mainly fake news like CNN and CNBC, or the garbage that you find on National Geographic or Discovery channel. Either that or sports.. mainly football.. GOAL!!!!!. The check in was very smooth and the staff was very courteous, even though some of them work for a food and beverage manager that is a cheapskate. I used points for this hotel which were way more than should have been charged for this level of comfort. But, it was OK. Just ok. read more
