Location, location, location! This hotel is the Cordis located on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It is very close to the Ladies Market if you want to do some shopping as well as connected a gigantic mall. You are right in town! We had access to the Club Lounge and service was superior! Good variety of breakfast options to choose from. Nice to hang out in the lounge in the evening. My in-laws tried the afternoon tea buffet and said it was very good. Our room was spacious with a lovely view and amenities. There are drawers to unpack your clothes which is nice. There are a few USB ports but there is an adapter with additional ports for complimentary in-house use (you can buy it to take home). There are quite a few switches so I would test them out. There is an overhead as well as a handheld rain shower. Highly recommend!

This review is long overdue. It was my second stay at the Cordis while visiting Hong Kong, my daughter's third, and my husband has stayed here many times. I'd give this hotel a solid 5-star rating based on two main factors: its exceptional staff and its unbeatable location. The staff was always courteous, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Although the rooms had aged somewhat since my last visit in 2018--there was a malfunctioning automated window shade and a TV that wouldn't connect to the network--the staff promptly addressed these issues with efficiency and a smile. The housekeeping team was also notably warm, greeting us with smiles in the hallway, which is not always the case with Asian housekeepers. They were also flexible with our room cleaning schedule. The reception and concierge staff went above and beyond to assist us, and the ground floor team was always quick and friendly in securing a cab for us. During our brief trip to Shenzhen, the staff happily stored our large luggage with no fuss. The hotel's location is a huge advantage. It's connected to Langham Mall on the fourth floor via a sheltered corridor, offering immediate access to a wide variety of restaurants, food courts, and shops. There's even a cinema! The hotel is also conveniently connected to the MTR subway station, either through an indoor path or by a short walk across the street. The MTR is modern and efficient, taking you almost anywhere in Hong Kong. We dined at the Michelin-starred Ming Court on the sixth floor several times and highly recommend it. The hotel's breakfast buffet at The Place was also a great experience, especially if your reservation includes it. We enjoyed breakfast there three mornings in a row before our side trip and were very pleased with the variety and quality. Hotel guests enjoy a 15% discount at the hotel's restaurants, which is a nice bonus. Hotel guests can also make a 20-minute appointment for free wine tasting at the Ming Cellar every day from 6 to 7 PM. We tried a few different room configurations and ultimately found that two separate deluxe double rooms worked best for our family of 3. While the rooms aren't particularly large, they were perfectly comfortable for our two-week stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Great. Good location and facilities. They don't go too crazy with excessive over-the-top service but they give everything you need. Took a few tries but we sourced converter/transformer for some medical devices. Rooms are clean and modern. Service is friendly and efficient. Location is in Mongkok with easy access to shopping and food. It can get seedier a few blocks away if you're looking for it but otherwise it's extremely safe. Their gym is well provisioned. One of the few hotel gyms I've seen with a proper free barbell rack for benching and squats. They also have a Smith machine and plenty of dumbbells going up to about 75lbs. Spa is excellent too. The massage rooms are an oasis of serenity and peace in the bustling chaos of HK and Mongkok. The relaxation massage hit the spot. Highly recommended.

We loved our 5 night stay at the modern and contemporary Cordis hotel located in the heart of Hong Kong's Mongkok district.  It opened in 2004 and is smack-dab in the middle of the action (ie, eating and shopping) on the Kowloon peninsula.  If you've never heard of the Mongkok district, it was rated by the Guinness Book of World Records as the busiest district in the entire world with a population density of 340,000 people/square mile!  When I first saw the skyscraper hotel here, my mind was thinking of what an engineering marvel it would have been to witness the construction of this hotel and the interconnected and large Langham Place shopping complex in super-busy and super-congested Mongkok! Anyway, as far as the accommodations and service, it was first class and great.  We paid $220 USD all-in per night (which included breakfast which was great and which I have already reviewed separately under The Place restaurant name) but this place can easily go for $400 USD per night depending on time of year and what's happening in Hong Kong.  We got a quick taste of their nice service upon check-in as you do so with a cold and refreshing towel handed to you and that was a first for us, and that touch can be very handy in Hong Kong's climate.  Our standard room was on the 30th floor and we enjoyed a quite scenic view of Kowloon.  The room was not particularly spacious but it was adequate and is typical unless you want to pay up.  The bathroom is uniquely separated from the bed area by a clear glass wall with a window shade used for privacy, if desired haha.  The beds and pillows were comfy and nniiiicee.  There are unique, artsy, and entertaining sculptures located throughout the hotel.  The elevators were super-fast and smooth. The customer service was excellent.  We had a modest bathroom cleanliness complaint on the first night.  I brought it to the attention of the lady hotel manager who was very empathetic and later had it addressed.  The next thing, we surprisingly find a delightful and delicious fresh fruit tray in our room for each of our remaining 4 nights, and I confirmed with the staff that it was basically a hotel token of apology.  Wow.  Besides the accommodations and service, one big plus of the hotel is that it is directly connected to the newish and large Langham Place shopping complex across Shanghai St.  There are tons of both classy and casual shops and eateries there, and the Mongkok MTR station is also co-located in the basement level of the complex.  So if you use the MTR from anywhere in Hong Kong, you can be back to your hotel room without ever stepping outside.  The other big plus for the Cordis is you are just steps away from all the markets, eateries, main artery Nathan Road shops and restaurants, and people watching in Mongkok.  Overall, we had a great stay, and we would not hesitate to stay again at the Cordis!

Bus depot near hotel. Convenient.

One night in HK from Guangzhou to catch return flight to JFK from HKIA and we stayed here as it was close to food! Location and service were great, no complaints whatsoever. Rooms though were designed by Liberace and Elton John after a night of drinking with Gordon Ramsey. Very modern English, with full glass vanity and outdated "exhibition glass enclosed bath with requisite plastic chain, pull-down plastic curtain ". Do you really need to watch your partner shower and bathe? Glass vanity was "9" for design element, "2" for functionality. The rest of the room was similar, "design over function ". Great place to spend a few hours for a rendezvous, but otherwise a Bonvoy property would be much, much more relaxing if you're actually traveling. Sorry didn't take any photos

I'm sad to be giving the Cordis a 3-star rating. We stayed at the hotel for a week including Christmas and I thoroughly enjoyed almost everything about it, especially the cleanliness of the room, the softness of the bed, the contemporary design of the bathroom. Two things did not go well: 1. There was a shard of broken glass on the floor in my room and I inevitably stepped on it. I bled for 20 minutes while my partner had to run out and buy bandaids and iodine. 2. My partner and I extended our stay for 2 days, for which we were quoted $6800. We confirmed this quote twice with the front desk before booking it. After we checked out, I got a call from the hotel saying that we owed around $2000 hkd. Turns out the front desk priced our room wrong, and they wanted to retroactively charge us the difference. I let them know that this was not the quote they told us when we booked. After some back-and-forth, the front desk apologized and let it go. Overall, this hotel is a fine place to stay at (sans broken glass) and I would still recommend it. But I would also recommend taking documentation of whatever price you get quoted before booking.

Complimentary wine tasting

We stayed here over Qing Ming holiday and the hotel got very crowded as it got closer to the weekend. Checkin was easy and quick, though I could see it was taking a while the next day when more were checking in. The man at the front desk was lovely and gave us so many ideas on what to do. There is no lounging area of the hotel to hang out in while you are waiting. The first room we had smelled like smoke and when we called they sent someone and after their inspection, we got moved to another room. Though it was a few floors below, the room was much more spacious and did not have a smoke smell. The room had everything we needed though I wanted another plug on my side of the bed. It also had a responsive air con. The amenities are what makes this hotel- complimentary wine tasting nightly, daily free market tours, and tai chi every morning by the pool. It's expensive but I'd go back again.

Smack in the center of happening Mongkok opposite a bangin' mall. These people are old school hospitality school trained! Yes, it is luxe. Yes it is super well run with attentive helpful staff. And the location? Done. The beds are uber comfy as well, and I love the auto shades.

The view from the club lounge on the 36th floor

Without a doubt, one of the most accommodating hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. It's 1000000% worth it to get the club privileges, which will allow you to have access to the club lounge. This means a free daily breakfast buffet, free afternoon tea, free sweet treats, free late night snacks, and a free nightcap. Unlimited wine, beer, coffee, tea, sparkling water, etc. which is very convenient when you just want to kick back and relax after a long day of pounding the pavement. You can also request aromatherapeutic pillows for the evening -- we always asked for the lavender scented ones for a more luxurious sleep. The staff are all so helpful and kind -- any request within reason will likely be met (we received complimentary room service breakfast since we could not take advantage of our inclusive breakfast buffet on our departure morning, for example). Planning well in advance allowed us to write a few emails to request one of the better rooms, which they kindly acquiesced by giving us a more private room on the highest floor for guests (40th). Access to shops and local life is extremely convenient; the hotel is connected to Langham Mall which has MTR access in the underground levels. There's also Chan Kee Roast Goose right next door -- be sure to order the goose/char siu fan combo for $68 HKD (you won't regret it!). I definitely loved my stay here and will miss it quite terribly! Thank you Cordis for the pleasant experience!

Fitness center - adequate

So I stayed here during my vacation to HK, with some fairly high expectations. Langham Hotels are well-regarded in the States and I saw many pictures of this particular establishment. Check-in was rather slow and plodding. We arrived mid-morning, so I didn't expect to have a room ready immediately. However, check-in felt longer than hotels in the States. The lobby is pretty nice, though there's not much space. Don't expect much sitting room. The room itself was simple, modern, but with a touch of elegance. The ceilings were pretty high and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was pretty large for HK standards and included a bathtub. Wifi was quite good with decent speed. The hotel was quiet and I didn't feel bothered sleeping. One major drawback was cleaning service being rather slow in servicing rooms. We didn't have our rooms cleaned until early evening at times, and sometimes we had to get someone to do it. The fitness center and pool were rather adequate, though a bit aged. Those elliptical machines had to be at least 10 years old. However, the view from the fitness center was amazing. You can see the harbor, skyscrapers, and mountains. Going there during sunrise, sunset, or the evening really gets you to want to go for a run on a treadmill to work off all the amazing food you'll eat in HK. Speaking of food, I didn't try any of the restaurants, so I can't comment. There are a lot of restaurants at the Langham Place mall, so I generally went for those. Convenience is a positive at Cordis, as you can hail a cab easily or go to the Mong Kok station. Having a mall attached made it excellent as well, with shopping and more dining options. If you badly need a taste of America, the mall has a Starbucks and McDonald's.

Crodis (previously named Langham) is a luxurious, upscale hotel conveniently located across the street from Mong Kok MTR station, two blocks away from the bustling nightlife of Nathan Road, and just a few minutes walk from many local eateries and outdoor street food stalls (dai pai dong). Located in the heart of Mong Kok, you have the opportunity to embrace the locals' experience in one of the most densely-populated areas in the world. ROOM -- A two-twin bedroom was small, but not too cramped. Windows couldn't open, but the air conditioning in the room provided sufficient comfort level relative to Hong Kong's hot and humid weather in October. The room included a full bathroom, TV, mini bar, safe, a desk, and a complimentary android smartphone (termed 'handy') with data and calls - which is a lifesaver for visitors without a local short-term HK data plan. AMENITIES -- Cordis has an open rooftop pool, spa, and gym all located on the top floor and with awesome 360 views of Kowloon and HK island. Complimentary Wi-Fi wasn't slow. The downstairs Western-HK fusion buffet restaurant (The Place) offers discount to Cordis guests. Also, Langham Place Mall is connected to the hotel, where you can do some moderately-priced shopping. STAFF -- Front desk staff were very professional and friendly; check-in and check-out process were quick and easy. Housekeeping did a thorough job, as we would leave for no more than an hour for breakfast and return to a clean room. Concierge service was friendly and helpful; do pay them a visit for recommendations for local food recommendations, site visits, and transportation directions. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay at Cordis. My only regret was not taking the time to learn more about the services offered at the spa, which would've been a great way to wind down and relax before returning home. I had a great time at Cordis and would return in the future if I revisit Hong Kong.

Would have been 5 stars except for the complete mess the front desk made of ordering a car for us to go to the airport. Utter confusion on their behalf and lack of ownership of the problem. Hotel itself is really good. The rooms are boutique bit a little larger than average. Great views of HKG from the 27th floor. Comfy bed and great bathrooms. Super helpful Bell Boy callled Silver explained all the workings. The breakfast is buffet style and absolutely fantastic!

Beautiful hotel next to the Langham Place mall. Things can be hectic trying to get to your hotel through the mall or even the streets in Mong Kok. They provide a cell phone for you to take into the city if you need it and there's a power adapter for the tourists. Easy to get to the MTR through the mall. Rooms are somewhat comparable in size to 4 star hotels in the United States on the east coast. I like that there's a switch in your room for privacy rather than a hangtag. However, no thinking that I would need it at 5pm, the concierge walked into my room while I was asleep doing a room check. That and the slow wifi were the only negative experiences in my stay.

Pros - very close to the bus stop in which you take in AND out of the city to the airport - offers in-town shuttle service - pretty much sound proof next to the other rooms, but if someone is making a ruckus in the hall, you will hear it. - pretty decent space and even though it's an older building, needs some tlc, it's pretty nice/comfy Cons- no outlets where you need them. There is an outlet on one side of the bed so it's not handy for 2 people staying in one room. There is no outlet in the bathroom so you can't curl/straighten your hair in there. You could do your hair right outside the bathroom next to the only other mirror in the room :/ Speaking of bathroom, the toilet is helllllla loud when you flush. Our room is equipped with two twin beds, a desk and chair, a refrigerator, complimentary bottles of water, and basic toiletry. Do not expect this room to be as spacious at the Hiltons in other international cities because Hong Kong real estate is a luxury. There is less than a foot of space between the two beds. Although it is not ideal for most people, it worked for us because we have young children. The narrow space is less of a hazard for our younger daughter to fall in because she tends to move a lot in her sleep. We had a slight hiccup midway through our stay in which the water did not properly drain in the shower. They were quick and efficient in resolving the issue and even brought us extra complimentary bottles of water. They have breakfast in the hotel but we opted out and went venturing for more local options. There are plenty within a 15-minute walking radius. It may have been…read morethe jet-lag induced mental fog during my overnight stay but I found this property to be one of the best HGIs I have ever been a guest at. I know that is a strong statement but my travel habits put me in hotels about 75 nights per year and 90% of them are within the Hilton portfolio of brands. That does get me treated like a high-value target by the hotels generally but this review is based primarily on the hard product of the property itself and not recognition of my loyalty status. The HGI brand in the Hilton portfolio is really aimed at being a mid-level business class hotel with full service breakfast available. It is not the cheapest brand but it is far from the nicest either (Hampton Inn and Waldorf Astoria brands have those far ends of the spectrum locked up). So no one goes to a HGI and expects a doorman, a fairly impressive lobby space, or a finer dining restaurant on property. But that is what is found here. The Kowloon location, deep in the Mong Kok neighborhood, is also ideal if you want to stay in the thick of the HK hustle and bustle with plenty of interesting areas, food shops and local life happening all around you. Walking from the hotel is easy and interesting no matter what direction you set out in and about the only downside is that it is about a 10-15 min walk to the light rail station. I don't consider that to be a deal breaker. The staff are present at the entry doors during the day while watching over some expensive cars parked in the front. During my stay, there were 4 Porsches and a Bentley parked near the door. I've never run into that at an HGI before. The rooms are typical HGI (clean, comfortable, functional) if but a bit smaller than their US counterparts. But what is lost in size is made up for by this property being a high rise building with some nice views out over the neighborhood. What does get some kudos here is the excellent shower flow pressure and the nice shower drain and door design ensuring great drainage so you aren't standing in a pond and water does not escape and get all over the floor (ridiculous half-partition showers all over Europe, I'm looking straight at you!) Finally, my stay was overnight with a departure too early to check out their breakfast option. But I'm guessing it is great given that their on property restaurant is really more of an upscale Chinese restaurant and not the usual HGI cafe'. During my stay, there were advertisements for whole suckling pig, abalone and goose foot webs, and pig lung soup to name a few. Impressive and intriguing in a great foodie sort of way! Tourists fear not as there were several western guests in the property so I'm sure you can get a proper cheeseburger if that is needed. Typical HGI standards this place is not and I only have remarkable things to report after my short stay here. I'm back through HK in 4 days and I already know where I am going to choose to stay!
