Spacious rooms, friendly service, and an upscale feel are reasons why I'll likely stay at the Courtyard Hong Kong Sha Tin again next time I visit HK.
If you know of the tightness of average residential living in HK, you'll appreciate the spacious rooms here. Decent views of the city, depending on which side of the tower you're on.
Eating big is a grand purpose of being in HK, at least for me, and so an adequately equipped fitness center helps my body feel LESS like crap. Dumbbells go up to 20kg, so don't expected to keep up your ripped regimen here. However, there is a Smith machine to do the easier version of your barbell exercises here (barbell bench press, squats... and I guess deadlifts but please don't do DL's here, Smith machines look wussy enough as is.) There are a bunch of weight lifting and cardio machines to keep you in shape here so you can eat more. Of course, nice change rooms, saunas, and an outdoor swimming pool that overlooks the islands.
We also ate a-la-carte at this hotel's restaurant, Momo. Prices are a bit higher, as expected from hotel eateries, but I'm excited to mention that their portions were delicious and surprisingly large so the price was reasonable.
The LOCATION is also excellent, with a bus hub right outside the hotel and the Shek Mun 石門 MTR subway 5 minute walk away! Very accessible to get to points-of-interest.
Pro Tip: Ask the hotel for their free Shuttle Bus service schedule. Comfortable, air conditioned shuttles take you common tourist stops and are a god-send for those wanting to experience some scenic routes.
There is also a McDonalds right outside the rear entrance to the hotel, which shares the same building, perfect for some late night shake-shake fries and crispy wings!
Highly recommended to come here! read more
