The food is great here! It's kind of hard to find because you can easily miss it when driving it's a small hole in the wall venue but the food definitely makes up for the location of the place. The service is kind of slow but they are really nice. I love the lamb and beef with the yellow rice. Z's is definitely worth a try. read more

I was craving Greek food and stumbled across this cute blue house drive through on Indian School. The place has indoor and outdoor seating and it's adorable. The lady in the drive thru was super sweet and very quick and efficient at taking my order. I ordered Greek fries with Gyro meat, tomatoes and pepperoncini, and a village salad. The fries were seasoned perfectly and the gyro meat was delicious and exactly how I love it. Firm and seasoned so tasty. I used to live closer to Z's and would come once a month. Drove back over here tonight and HAD to get it. Food is always SO yummy.

We got some gyro, chicken souvlaki and Philly cheese steak. Everything was barely edible, including the coke. Lots of salt and everything was slightly burnt. I remember the gyro being covered with salad which I didn't mind before but somehow the meat was tasteless and salty at the same time. The chicken was burnt and dry and had red pepper flakes on it so my kids wouldn't eat it. The sandwich was good and hot, but had way too much onion and pepper and burnt bits in it. A coworker recommended this place, and I'm glad she did. I have only had their Greek salad with chicken, and it's probably one of the best salads I've ever had. I wish I had a picture, but every time I order it, I eat it so fast I forget to take a picture. They have two sizes a regular and a large. The regular is huge, and they do not skimp on the veggies or chicken. I also love the convenience of their drive-thru, and the lady at the window is always pleasant. Had a beef souvlaki plate and dolmades. First off, the dolmades were pretty bad. The leaves were either very low quality or a bit stale. The beef was pretty good but very well done and had an interesting spice on the back end. The potatoes and rice were solid and the salad was good too, although it would be hard to screw up after slathering it in feta and dressing. Also, I have just realized that I've let my friends, neighbors and fellow Yelpers down. You need to know about Z's! This place serves up amazing food and a lot of it! The Gyro Plate comes with a generous helping of gyro meat, seasoned rice, seasoned potatoes, greek salad and a warm, quartered pita. One order yields 2+ meals for me. The Greek dressing is very good. I'm not a fan of servings of starch (rice) with servings of starch (potatoes) so on my last visit, I asked if I could get the lemon, chicken and rice soup (Avgolemono) instead. I was happy to get a cheerful "Absolutely!" When I made my way to the pickup window, one of the staff members thanked me for supporting their small business. We frequent this place quite often. My 4 year old loves it which says alot because he is a picky eater. Especially if it's anything remotely healthy. It has a drive thru but it's not fast food so just remember that if you go here be little patient. It's worth it. The salad, rice, pita and hummus are my favorite. I used to really like the lentils but it seems like they've changed over the years. They taste a little too much like chicken bouillon but I still get them from time to time. The tzatziki and gyro are my son's favorite. We do wish the tzatziki serving sizes were bigger as he devours it and we have to get like 5 lol! Our only gripe is we wish hummus came with the gyro platter but we just add it on. It can get a little pricey but it's a hefty serving. 2 platters serves our family of 4 if we add an extra pita and hummus. We had an issue once in all our years and the owner called us right away and made things right which was very nice. read more

Wow wow wow! This place has been on my list of places to eat for Greek/Mediterranean for the last 1-2 years. We finally had a chance to come here today and first of all AWESOME customer service. The gentleman helping us was fantastic and helped me choose the best meal options. Everything is homemade including their Greek dressing. We got the gyro pita with fries, the souvlaki chicken skewers with the village salad (no feta) and the large Greek salad (no feta) with chicken and the lemon/olive oil dressing. These portions are HUGE!!! I am also sad I didn't just take a Lactaid so I could try the feta. I bet it would have been super delicious too! The salads and veggies were so fresh! I haven't had a salad from a restaurant this fresh in a very long time. I also LOVED the village salad. I have now been influenced that lettuce is overrated and I just want an authentic Greek salad. The hummus was so good! I LOVE a lot of garlic and the hummus and salad dressings had a lot in both which made my garlic heart so happy! The chicken was large good portions on both salads and very tender and juicy. The gyro was so good and well seasoned. The fries were crispy and not oily or greasy. They were a perfect!!! The pita breads were also fresh and perfect. I highly recommend this place. This is now my favorite gyro/souvlaki place. Best we've had in AZ so far! I am gluten free and dairy free, low carb/keto- hence my choices of salads and no feta. The gyro and the fries are not gluten free but yes to dairy free. We always get takeout and have never eaten there, so this review doesn't address any dine in aspects. This evening I got my usual chicken Souvlaki platter. This is really like 2.5 meals as the serving is generous. Platter includes two chicken Skewers, rice, lemon boiled potatoes, a small Greek salad, pitas, and Greek dressing for the salad. Chicken was so good, very moist. Rice and potatoes were both tasty and well seasoned. Meal was delivered 5 min after ordering. Current price of this entree is $16.99. Up $4 from last year, but what hasn't increased, and as I said portion is plentiful. This is really a meal for 2. Restaurant exterior looks like it has been refreshed recently as far as landscaping, paint and light fixtures. read more

Our family loves Greek food and we have been dying to try this place. It came as a recommendation from family so today we finally pulled the trigger today. The food was similar to other Greek restaurants but the gyro platter includes potatoes and it was a great addition to the meal and it was so much food it could have been split between two people. Although it was still in the high 90s my kids wanted to sit outside. As we got settled in our food was delivered to our table and we where asked a couple of times if we were comfortable. You could tell they really cared, also it's nice to know this place has regulars as some of the customers where called by their first names. In true fashion my daughter drew a picture and presented to one of the staff members, I was amazing to see how much time they spent talking to both my daughter and my son, they were genuinely interested. As we started to pack up we we're asked by who I think is the owner (we will call him Z) if we wanted dessert. As soon as my son heard he jumped up with excitement and said yes. We left with a free piece of chocolate cake, two very happy kids and it is safe to say we will be back. read more

Everything about our visit was terrific, but the highlight for me was getting a taste of the roasted potatoes that came with my wife's lamb skewers. I'm not so sure I would have shared, had it been my meal. I went with a gyro, and it was first rate as well. Z's is an unpretentious, reasonably priced delight. They appeared to be doing quite a bit of take out and drive through business when we were there, and the friendly, efficient woman working at the counter seemed to be on a first name basis with some of the other customers. We were staying nearby, and found some places in the neighborhood to be a bit precious for our tastes. I was visiting Phoenix for the weekend and was looking at reviews for nearby restaurants. I came across Z's Greek and liked what I heard from the reviews. It was 40 min until they closed, but they welcomed us in & even gave recommendations since it was our first time there. The inside is very plain, but the patio was quaint & had the perfect ambiance. The food was a home run. We both had the Gyro platter & a side of hummus. I am keto, so they allowed me to substitute the rice & potatoes for more salad. The portion was truly enough for 2 people. The meat was juicy & seasoned to perfection. It was some of the best Greek food I have had. I 100% recommend Z's Greek if you ever find yourself nearby & craving amazing Greek food. I've been here quite a few times since my Feburary review. LOL almost weekly, but always ordering the same thing. A hole in the wall with indoor and outdoor seating on the main drag of Indian school are for those who want to grab a quick delicious lunch... they also have a drive through which I've never done. My friend and I always come in on Tuesdays. The young lady who now knows us as regulars also knows our order too. Super nice, always very pleasant and effiecient. Z'Greek - This is one of my "go to" Greek spots for lunch or dinner, during the week or weekends, doesn't matter. It's maybe a 2 minute walk from my house. How perfect! My favorite meal on the minute and the most ordered for me is the Chicken Souvlaki Greek Platter that's served with a side Greek salad, rice, roasted - lemon potatoes and war pita. Honestly, it's kind of hard to put how good the food is in words. Literally every single thing on that Chicken Soulaki platter is delicious. The chicken is seasoned and grilled to perfection. The rice is cooked perfectly. So are the potatoes, you can cut them in half with just your fork. I normally eat my side Greek salad first, because that doesn't travel too well, just an FYI. Great price very generous portion. Will return just for this item. ordered the spanakopita appetizer and unfortunately, the first time it was served to me it was cold inside. The young lady with the nose ring who was super nice had it redone. The issue seems to be that the spanakopita is for made and refrigerated and then it needs to be fried to revive it. So it's hard to get it warm inside. I prefer a non-fried spanakopita or straight from the baking pan. That's why I say this rating is more 4.5 because of the spanakopita issue. But like I said, the young lady was very nice about it. The place was very clean and we ate at the outdoor tables.
