Gyro pita is so good! Their tzatziki sauce is awesome, and I'm not really a fan of yogurt. The food is ready quickly and the staff is friendly, and brings the food to your table, they also insist you leave the plates, but I insist on cleaning up after myself. Okay, okay, okay... So in my defense, I always try to give as fair of a critique as possible. I want people to know what they are going to get before they get it; so my job is to give them just that in as much detail as I can so here it goes... This place is damn good; more so than any other Greek restaurant I've reviewed in the area of Phoenix. For reference I've been to 5. This is my first 5 star review in years and I will carefully outline why this place is worthy. Let's start with the Greek salad. I loved it. Everything about the way it came together was great. The freshness, the light crisp, the feta, the amazing dressing that went with it. I mean damn... I hate salad and I finished the entire thing. Damn good rabbit food. Next up is the main course... the gyro platter. I got the lamb (of course) because I was diving head first into this adventure. It. was. sublime. EVERYTHING was seasoned perfectly. I mean just nailed on every facet of the dish. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned great, the potatoes had this acidic, buttery taste that went so well with the rice, the lamb was sliced thinly and EVENLY like it properly should. The platters are a great deal! Each comes with the entree of choice (I had chicken souvlaki and gyro), rice, 1 pita cut into 4 triangles, Greek salad, and tender roasted potatoes with a subtle lemon flavor. What I enjoyed the most was how well all the flavors and textures worked together. The feta and red onions in the salad were great eaten with the rice. Tzatziki makes everything better and I was pleasantly surprised each platter came with 2! The chicken souvlaki is flame grilled and fairly crispy with a char flavor. The gyro meat has the crispy sides but still very moist and flavorful. It's enough food to have leftovers comfortably for a busy weekday lunch. What a find! This unassuming spot has become our favorite place for Greek food, and for an easy and yummy dinner . And imagine this, there is a drive thru lane! We have never used the drive thru as there is lots of parking if you want to go in to pick up or eat in house. And the food! Very fresh, very tasty, very generous portions. I love the gyros, and the salads, well, I love everything that I have tried from this place. I had a falafel pita for the first time the other night, and it was moist and spicy. Whew, I haven't written a review at my favorite weekly spot since 2015! It's time for an update. You guys, i'm a regular here and honestly, don't know how I would stay properly nourished without Z's! They are my LIFELINE as a busy working mama with a pilot husband who is gone a few days a week. Having the ability to call in my order and pick it up via their drive thru (without having to take the baby out of the car) is priceless. I'm still obsessed with their Greek salad with chicken and village dressing. Yep, get it *at least* once a week, every week. They know my voice at this point. I've never strayed from this order. The food is great for the price! The hummus is buttery with a perfect amount of zest! The chicken Greek salad is my favorite! On my last few visits, I noticed that the food is not prepared as well as before. The fries on both my last visits seemed to be cooked in the wrong temperature as they were hard inside, yet very greasy on the outside. The meat was not hot. Holy cow! We had no idea what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. We are in town for less than 48 hours and had to stick around the property this evening as we are traveling with dogs, so we went to the delivery apps to check out options for dinner. We saw a few Greek options and knew that's what we were craving. After doing a little Yelp-investigating, we settled on Z's Greek -- and we are so happy we did! Absolutely everything we ordered was 10/10 and they even threw in an extra Greek salad on the side. The servings were also so amazingly large that I was able to eat it for dinner, breakfast, and even have some left for lunch later. Insane! The rice and potatoes were exactly what I was hoping for and the Greek Fries were probably the best fries I have ever had in my entire life. Never ate inside but I have ordered a few times, there is definitely other places to go, it's okay at best, very very basic like every dish feels lacking something, it is edible it is just very plain, so at least you know if you want something to order that you won't get sick from or will just fit your needs to the minimum then this is a perfect place. My other favorite is the combination plate which comes as a full Greek plate of meat, pitas, salad, rice and potatoes. Just make sure to get some extra bomb tzatziki sauce. After moving to Scottsdale part-time a couple months ago, Z's has quickly become my comfort food go-to. There's nothing better than a warm falafel sandwich with a huge, beautiful Greek salad. We discovered this spot while staying in the Biltmore/Camelback area, but I now drive out of my way to make a stop here, and even come here by myself. For $8-$10, you can get a huge plate of food that won't make you feel guilty and terrible - all of the food here is insanely fresh and gooood. You won't miss the In N' Out - I promise. Z's is located right on Indian School Rd., in a building that looks like it might have served as a drive-in burger joint back in the day. It's always the same two young ladies running the counter when I come in; super friendly, fast, and they never screw up my order! They've got sodas, but also real iced tea and fresh lemons - if you're going healthy but still want to feel like you're getting fast food, this is definitely your stop. All of your Greek classics are here - Gyros, falafel, pita, hummus, olives. I've yet to order anything that wasn't great. The prices are right, the service is awesome, and the food keeps me coming back. I hope this place is around forever! read more

Z Great! I came here during my lunch hour. I have never had such fast service before. It's almost like a fast food restaurant for greek food. I literally ordered my food at the counter and the server brought out my food in less than 5 mins - hot and fresh. The restaurant is not super attractive looking, but it is clean. I ordered a Gryo Pita Combo with the greek salad and a side of Crazy Greek Fries. Oh my goodness, it was A LOT of food. The gyro pita was HUGE. Lots of meat, lettuce, sliced tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. The Greek salad was pretty good, but it was SO cheesy. So if you like feta cheese, you'll love the salad. It was almost too much for me, and I L.O.V.E. cheese. The Crazy Greek Fries were their regular fries with melted feta and american cheese on top. They were super hot when they came out, I just wish it had a little more flavor and just fries with melted cheese on top. i LOVED their tzatziki sauce and I LOVED that they gave me extra without me asking for me or charging me more. Overall, the food was great! Service was super fast and nice. It is one of the better Greek places in this neighborhood! I just with it wasn't so expensive. I ended paying about $17 for my lunch. I've driven past this place many times and finally stopped in for lunch. Wow! What a surprise. I had the gyro platter, which includes beef, lamb, roasted potatoes, lemon rice, pita bread, and Greek salad. When I saw the price, which was $16.99 plus drink, I was thinking this place is overpriced. However, when the food came out, I was shocked at how large the servings were. Ended up taking home enough for dinner, meaning I had two meals for around 8 bucks each! The beef and lamb were sliced perfect, seasoned just right and overall excellent. The pita bread was soft, wam, and delicious. Lemon rice and roasted potatoes were cooked to perfection. Finally, the side Greek salad was everything you look for in a Greek salad. The only negative was that I missed having my sweet wife Pam, who is now in heaven with me to enjoy. Then, I would have had her here to share this huge platter with instead of taking home half for another dinner alone tonight. However, let's not end on a sad note. Will I be back? Not sure what happened to this place but they went downhill quick. Went in not too long ago and this place has not only gotten super expensive but the portions and quality of food was subpar. This used to be my go to green spot for a gyro but when I ordered it last week the pita bread was literally so soggy that it was falling apart and the gyro meat was chopped up and soggy as well. They used to get a nice crisp on the outside of the gyro meat but not this time. Also, the side of Greek salad was super small and the dressing tasted like a bottled ranch. My gyro takeout was very burnt little pieces of gyro meat and a lot less meat than I used to get. This was once a quality/affordable place to eat but now I fear they are a victim of their own success by overcharging and reducing quality.
