Yes, Zippy's has gotten greedy in last several years but everyone's prices are crazy, insane, high these days. It was busy Saturday night and the place was pretty full. Popped into Zippy's Kapolei after Physical Therapy this morning. We were greeted right away. We sat in the dining area. The waitress' name was Sandra and she asked what would we want to drink. My son and I both got iced water for the time being. We looked over the menu and my son got the Zippy's omelette with fried rice and a side of hash browns. The omelette was loaded with Portuguese sausage, spam, veggies and cheese. I had the veggie omelette with white rice and a side of hash browns. We then ordered 2 Orange Bang juice. Was ono! Dining area was clean and orderly. Bathroom as immaculate as well! The waitress was very polite and courteous. We hardly get to eat here but when we do, it's an amazing experience. We came here because Jason Momoa recommended it and I just want to say... Aquaman should keep his butt in the ocean and stop doing food reviews immediately!! ‍ Ordered the Chicken Trio and Korean Fried Chicken, and somehow both managed to be impressively bland. Crispy? Sure. Flavor? None. The Korean fried chicken had about as much kick as a polite handshake. To be honest, This meal felt like it was recommended by someone who hasn't tasted seasoning since the roaring 20's. Zippy's is our go to when we cannot decide on where to eat or if my husband is craving chili burrito. We have not been to thr Kapolei location in a while but since we were in the area we decided to go there. It looks almost outdated in a sense like no upkeep has been done. When we were brought to our table there were crumbs all on the booth seats, both sides, and the table was sticky. We asked the hostess if we could have something to wipe it before she left us, but was gracious enough to do it for us. However, we had to now sit on a seat that was not completely dry. As I made my way into the booth I noticed that I was sitting next a mess that looked like it had been there for some time. This is a review from a first timer. I've heard many good things about this local chain, and I was looking forward to trying a few items, especially the famous chili. Some of my family members have been to Zippy's before, and they enjoy coming here when on vacation. We had a big family lunch party, so we ordered a bunch of items. I got to try the Chili Moco, a bowl of chili (with beans), and my main order was the Saimin. After trying the chili with both beans and no beans, I prefer the no-bean chili. The saimin was delicious, but average. If you're in the mood for soup or noodles, this would satisfy. The lilikoi drink was also refreshing and sweet. For dessert, we shared two popular items, the Haupia Cake and Chocolate Pudding. Both were very satisfying and ended the meal perfectly. The Haupia cake was not overly sweet, and it was moist and light. The staff seemed overwhelmed, but they still got most of our orders out quickly and maintained a friendly and attentive vibe throughout the meal. There's a quick-service counter for takeout and a spacious dine-in area to enjoy your meal inside. Overall. I definitely like this location but it can be busy on the weekends. Service was good here. Everything I ordered was delicious and flavorful. My favorite is the breakfast here from strawberry waffles to pancakes. So good. Wait time wasn't too bad. It's between 10 to a 15 minute wait to be seated. Had to try zippys as it is a local favorite. Got take out so I can't speak to the service but the pick up situation was very efficient and easy. Got the saimin and I'm glad I got a large as the small wouldn't have been enough food. The loco moco was good but we haven't tried many versions so don't have a comparison point. The chili cheese fries were also solid but a fairly small portion so if you're sharing maybe get a few orders. Overall the food is decent and a good fast food option. read more

I really don't understand all of the low reviews... this place is great for what it is. We almost didn't come in because of the reviews and I am glad we took the chance. Our server (Sandra) was very kind and attentive. The food was really good, we had the chicken trio and zippy platter. The ambience was decent, you aren't walking into a 4-star restaurant, it reminds me of a McDonalds inside. If you are on the fence on whether to go here or not, I say go for it, I don't think you will be let down! read more

ZIPPY'S BROKE DA MOUTH! I'm so glad I didn't listen to the reviews and went to Zippys for the first time today. First, the service was outstanding and the staff was so nice and friendly. Second, the food came out fast, hot and fresh and looked even better than the pictures in the menu. And lastly everything was delicious and by getting the Zip Pac I was able to try some of everything especially the Mac Salad and Chili. I honestly don't give out 5 Stars often but with the price point, quality and excellent service Zippys is a must go when in Kapolei! My first time n it was horrible. I ordered a cheeseburger with tomato onion and lettuce n macaroni salad my daughter ordered the chicken beans n rice plate n 2 glasses of ice water. We got our order after 15 minutes with no one really in the place n my cheeseburger was Luke warm at best, cheese unmelted like it was an afterthought and the mustard sauce was so bad I tried scraping it off! My daughters chicken was dried out pieces and the macaroni salad was warm lastly it was an expensive lunch for 2 people and still had to get up to get water from an employee who acted like it was a chore to stop visiting with her coworkers n cooks to get our water. Fifteen minutes after our drinks came the server came to take our food order. Still waiting for the soup. Another ten minutes past ,yey my soup arrived. Decided to do a take out for our dinners. Flag down our server. So, we specifically did not finish our entree so we'd have room for dessert. I don't think the cream should be tangy. I wanted to inform them that they may want to take it off the shelf as it may have been sitting too long. I was on hold for a bit, then finally got to speak to someone I asked to speak to the manager; they wanted to know "why?" Upon explaining the situation, I was placed on hold again. After more than 10 minutes, I hung up. I think that was much too long when someone is reporting potentially spoiled food. I was going to just inform the manager, but as I didn't have a chance to speak to them, I needed to comment here. I'm more of a no bean kinda gal which makes it like a bougie bolognese lol but celebrating this day Zippy's offers specials on their famous chili and we're the lucky ones to nab this deal. It's $4.50 for a 10oz bag of original or no bean that comes cold/frozen only which I did online for an efficient and easy pickup and will notify you if it's ready earlier than time promised. What I also noticed is that they also have regular chili with rice for $5.95 and what a dinner deal! This Kapolei location is really nice and clean I love the vibe here with lots of free parking, there was no line so I was greeted instantly and got my order was in and out really fast. side note...I later realized that my order was wrong, double check always as I didn't. This is a locals' restaurant in Hawaii and I wanted to show my family what Hawaii had to offer outside of the resorts and Waikiki. Food: The servings are generous and you might have to do takeout for leftovers. In our case, we ordered 3 meals for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) and it was plenty of food. Our meals were served fresh and warm. I enjoyed their fried chicken and my wife liked the saimin.
