    Bbq mixed BBQ Mix Plate
    Marni C.

I ordered for delivery and that is always a lil nerve wracking cause u never know what ur going to get. I was very pleasantly surprised when my food got here. I ordered the chicken katsu to share with my mom and my dad got the bbq mixed plate. When I opened the container I was like woah!! Nice portions!!! I took a bite of my katsu (side order of curry) and I was like dang!! One of the best chicken katsu I've had! Also the curry was incredible! Usually there is a strong "bite"to the curry and this was so mild and creamy with a hint of sweetness on the back end. Thank you loco moco!! U have outdone yourself!! Chefs kiss!!

Never thought you could make French fries dry! But my over cooked fries! Never ordering this again!

Wow! Great price on party pans! Will order again! Ordered 2 days ago & picked it up & was so amazed that it tasted so good!

Props to Loco Moco for thriving all these years. When Kapolei had practically nothing 30-years ago, this was the go to place. This location had been our family caterer for the fist 5-years, 1995-2000 and beyond. I was craving a chicken katsu plate earlier in the day and since I needed to do some grocery shopping, so I decided to come here. Staff is very friendly. Price is good. Not too long after, my mini plate arrived. States off with the Mac salad and it was tasty, while the chicken katsu satisfied the craving. It's a tiny location with a few 4-seater tables available. Plenty of people walking in to take out while a few of us stayed to dine in. While waiting for dinner, I saw one of the staff members wrapping up a small platter for take out and it reminded me of when we would order our family take out here. Brought back fond memories. I loved the lemon chicken here. Next potluck, I'll pickup from here.

Loco Moco- All white rice, 2 over easy eggs, 2 beef patties covered in gravy. Beef patties were alittle tough.

My first time back in 2 years since since they opened under new management and they've improved ALOT. The Buy-one-get-one plate lunch coupon from the midweek paper is what got me in and I'm glad I used/turned it in. The plate lunches was in large portions (even the mini bbq chicken was huge), tasted pretty good (just the beef patties in the Loco Moco were alittle tough) and the prices were fair. The restaurant was clean. Plenty of free parking. Easy phone ordering and take out. Cashier was nice. Although I miss the kapolei original I'm glad I gave the new Loco Moco a second chance.

    Kalbi and chicken katsu combo
    Ana C.

I had to work late tonight and didn't want to go home and cook so I decided to get something on the way home. I stopped in at Loco Moro and got a kalbi and chicken Katsu combo with mac salad and white rice. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy. The kalbi was seasoned well. However the mac salad was plain and had no seasoning whatsoever. Other than that I was satisfied with the meal.

Came here for quick Hawaiian bite yo eat. Place is cute and clean. I ordered grilled garlic ahi, my sister got the chicken katsu curry and we shared the shrimp salad. Food took a bit to come out. Ahi was ok but pretty plain and my sister said the katsu is good and serving size was a big generous! Overall, good place to come for quick meal!

Loco Moco Kapolei. Long time tenant in the Kapolei Shopping Mall. Locally owned and operated. Lots of local favorites on the menu. Staff is friendly and efficient. My favorite is the Teri Pork plate. One of the best on the West Side. They do an excellent job catering. We've used them quite frequently and they've never disappointed us.

Wanted a musubi between errands and tastes like a simple, home-cooked one! :) This restaurant looked like a popular place for big orders and I'd like to try their other food too

First time this Loco Moco location. In general most of these locations are pretty decent. Ordered the Eggplant Stirfry with Chicken. Tasted ok but nothing memorable. The teriyaki sauce was very sweet. The chicken, vegetables and eggplant on par with my expectations for this kind of place. The Mac salad however was bland. Portioning was just average. Beautiful large Hawaiian mural on wall and nostalgic photos. Lots of seating. Seems pretty clean. Service was good. Cashier greeted me, said Thank you after paying, asked me if I wanted my soda now. Brought my takeout order to me while I sat waiting on one of the tables. If the Mac salad was good, I'd give it another star. Not sure if I'd return.

    Mochiko Chicken Regular Plate Lunch
    Emelryn Vebs D.

We found a BOGO free plate lunch deal for Loco Moco Drive Inn in Midweek and couldn't resist clipping it. We got the Pork Lau Lau and Mochiko Chicken Regular Plate. Both were decent plate lunches, and the BOGO deal made it even better. The Pork Lau Lau had the right amount of pork and salt. Sometimes other places make it too salty, but this one was just right and cooked perfectly. The Mochiko Chicken was a little overcooked, but still good. Each regular plate came with a regular mac salad and 2 cups of rice. Nothing fancy, but it worked. Overall, decent food and a great deal. We'll definitely be back!

I'm hoping the Mochiko Chicken is da bomb

I stopped by Loco Moco- Kapolei on my way home. I was craving Mochiko Chicken. It's like a hit or miss. It's either good or not good. I ordered a special combo plate. The nice guy said that it was cheaper than purchasing two plates. I ordered the sweet and sour Spareribs with white rice & Mac Salad for Hubby. I got the Mochiko Chicken on the side for me. They cook it while you wait. The restaurant is small but spacious enough that you some feel crowded. When the server brought me my order, it smelled sooooo good. I couldn't wait. I immediately grabbed a piece of chicken to eat right then. Seasoned perfectly, hot as ever. Just delicious. I truly believed that I had eaten all my Mochiko chicken on my drive home to the North Shore. There was 1 piece left for Zeus. Much to say, I will go back to order from Loco Moco-Kapolei again real soon.

It was about 4 pm and the afterwork/before dinner rush was in full effect! Orders after orders. We decided to go with their fried chicken plate; Gina's special and a spicy bbq chicken. Haven't had a spicy bbq chicken so i was excited to give it a try. As we waited, we watched many others behind us get their choice of sides and orders out and was wondering if they missed our order. Unfortunately, our order was not printed. The tall gentlemen helping out in the back immediately apologized and put our order first in line and within a few minutes, we got our order. He then apologized again and loaded our plates. The mini looked like a large and the regular plate looked XL. They have a lot of side dishes to choose from. Our favorites are the choy sum, bean spouts and cuttlefish. Now for the food, it was AMAZING. The spicy bbq chicken is a must try! Not to spicy but has enough of a kick. You can't even go wrong with their regular bbq chicken. The Gina's special is completely loaded with chicken, beef and kalbi. I also enjoyed their fried chicken and may have to get that as a side as we had way too much rice and vegetables that we had to save some for later. Overall, the food is great! We first went to monkeypod while in Maui, and I fell in love with their jalapeno mashed potatoes so I knew I had to get an order of that, and it was good as I remembered! Other things we ate that we enjoyed were the cast iron shrimp. Great flavor, the only problem is that it comes with like 4-5 shrimp, and they aren't large shrimp. Wish this dish came with more shrimp. The cheeseburger was good but not great. If you are craving a burger, this one definitely will satisfy that craving though. The catch of the day tacos were surprisingly good. The bulgogi tacos were solid but I'd opt for the fresh fish tacos instead. For dessert we tried their banana cream pie since it was popular. This one I didn't get the hype though, just an average piece of banana cream pie. For drinks, the mai tai is definitely the way to go. That lilikoi foam, so darn good! Its feels like eating at your friend's grandma's house, will this is how I feel, home comfort food vibe whenever I grab take out or dine in. Camille's Hawaiian Food is tucked all the way in Waipahu at Westgate Center, there are many shops here and it blends in but look for the wooden board out front with the daily specials. The prices at Camille's are reasonable and the portions size are great too, you really get bangs for your bucks here. I like they have the options of mini and regular plates. I've been here a total of 3 times, first time we tried the Hawaiian food, got take out, and most recently dined in and luckily we got some entertainment. We enjoyed the Hawaiian food, but I have to give credit to the other local foods we tried so far I got the pork chops with mushroom, garlic shrimp, crack chicken and smoked meat fried rice. Everything was tasty, really enjoyed it but just the crack chicken may be on the sweeter side, I would request for light sauce. The macaroni salad was fire! Rice cooked perfectly! There are many goodies in the fridge, pistachio cake, Ho'i'o salad, dried Aku, Opelu, Smoke Marlin, pickle onions, smoke tako, dried shrimp, drinks, and even Dubai chocolates! There are T-shirts, snacks, candies, chips for sale in front of cashier and towards the back of store. I love the color green and had to get a slice of pistachio cake, ($5.) what a treat, its been awhile since I last had pistachio cake. It was a huge slice, shared w/the hubby. It was yummy, so refreshing and moist. When I had my last bite, it got a little too sweet means I need to stop eating. hehe. Check out Camille's, support local. Oh I remember that the business is named after the owner's daughter.

We usually cater from Laverne's on NYE but my husband wanted to give this place a try. We had eaten…read morethere once so we trusted that our catering experience would be as good. Big mistake! We ordered 8 pans which came out to $842.00. A price we don't mind paying IF it was worth it. Lau Lau: Tiny, didn't see any fat and leaves were undercooked, taste was ok Squid Luau: This was the most disappointing of all! It had this weird watery taste, didn't see any squid and not much coconut milk. Pan was tossed. Rice: This is a no brainer since we are in Hawaii, unfortunately some of the rice was hard and brown at the top (looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot) Macaroni Salad: Very bland, had to add salt Kalua Pig: Taste was good (only winner) Smoked Meat: Only my husband liked it Chicken Long Rice: Another huge disappointment, it was really soupy, basically more liquid than noodles and chicken Hoio Salad: Some of the fern shoots were so tough and I found myself spitting them out Overall: For the price we paid, this was NOT worth it and we felt embarrassed for our guests. Back to Laverne's we go. You know that saying: If ain't broke don't try and fix it.

When I found this food truck, I immediately wanted to stop by and see what the hype was about. I visited about 30 minutes before closing. The only thing they had run out of was the chop steak and one other protein, which wasn't too big of a deal for me. My eye was on the beef stew. Growing up in a Filipino household, I knew this dish as "caldareta." My dad would make this for me all the time. I asked for a bowl to go so I could enjoy it for dinner later. The first bite instantly sent me back to my family's home kitchen, where I would come home from school and find a pot of beef stew waiting for me. What I love about Hawaii is that it has a blend of cultures that I truly appreciate as a foodie, and experiences like this feel like a nostalgia tour. Thank you for this delicious meal. It made me miss my mom and dad a little more than I usually do. Food not only nourishes us, but also brings us back to a moment in time. I thank Laverne's for that.

This is the food truck in the Home Depot parking lot in Kapolei. They have several tables to eat at. We ordered a pastele stew and squid luau combo.
