This place is a mililani staple and I grew up eating their food. The meat jun is always my go to and it's so good! I love that it's not overcooked so the egg coating doesn't get too dried out. Their meat jun sauce is also one of the best. The meat is a little on the thin side though. Their banchan was all pretty good with some unique stuff like this one thing with thin sliced fish cake like things. The Kim chi is top notch. The chop chae was another winner. Good flavor with a nice variety of veggies in there and pretty big pieces of beef. You can get the mandoo steamed or fried and we got steamed. This was hands down my favorite place to eat during our 9 day vacation on Oahu! I believe it's a husband and wife run spot, with the wife working up front and the husband cooking in the back. We ordered the meat jun, short ribs, and shrimp tempura. Let me tell you...the meat jun was AMAZING! My kids absolutely devoured it. But for me, the star of the meal was definitely the short ribs. They were packed with flavor, the pieces were huge, and honestly, they were some of the best short ribs I've ever had! The only downside was that the food took a little longer to come out. But considering this seems to be a small restaurant , it really wasn't a big deal at all. When the food is this good, it's worth the wait! Friendly staff, casual dining with booths only and seating available outside if that's what you prefer (however would probably have to order the food to go) They now charge $1 for containers as they have signs posted by each booth, as well as any extra sauce $1. The atmosphere was somewhat quiet and calming. They were polite and deliver my water with the little side dishes...like seaweed mixed with cucumbers and daikon...very tasty!. Kimchee was between mild and medium spice just right. The vegetable pancake was outstanding with daikon with jalapeños (spicy). Last, a generous portion of fish cakes! This is my second time dining in! I normally do take out so I can eat at home, but since my mom and I was meeting a friend, we decided to come here. We arrived around 11am on a Wednesday and there was only a couple of tables already seated. After we ordered, there was a few more tables that got seated, so I think coming at 11am was a good time. Food came out fairly quick! They gave us an assortment of 5 different banchan. I was craving bibim kook soo which is spicy cold noodles and it came with BBQ beef... Bad, first time here and when the menu says thin slice kalbi they mean it. everything is skimping out from thin bbq chicken seems like they cut the chicken thighs in 1/2 thin slices even the meat jun, bbq beef very thinly slices just like shabu shabu and they chopped it up to make it look like it's a lot. we wanted to return the chop chae, chop chae was just like chicken soup with noodles or chicken hekka. We ask the owner we didn't like it but she said we couldn't return it , that's a first I heard or hear from a restaurant ? we never even touch it Crazy. I would not recommend!!!!!!! Located in Miliani Town Center, imagine stepping into this place feeling like you just walked into your best friend's grandma's house. It's not renovated or modernized like other viral eat spots but gosh, the home look makes food taste better, yeah? I've been on the look for bi-bim-bap and found it down the street from where I live. As I sit on a weekday lunch hour, there are one to four tables sat at a time and choke to-go orders. It's quiet inside. For being close to home, the side dishes are perfect and the flavors of my bi-bim-bop are excellent. No complaints here. While at Mililani shopping center we decided to grab lunch at Mililani BBQ it has been around for many years, I used to eat there before. As you enter there's a sign that says wait to be seated, which we did and it took awhile before the counter person looks up and said you can sit and points to a table. After getting our table we waited about 20 mins for someone to take our order and bring water. It looks like it only 3 people running this restaurant the counter person that takes the order and cashier and the dishwasher that delivers the food and I think a cook unless he cooks and deliver the food and wash dishes. Lot of customers while we waited didn't know what to do waiting to get seated and even after getting seated didn't know if we had to go to the counter after getting our table and place are order? After waiting awhile the lady behind the counter came and took our order. I ordered the lunch plate which for the price was very small for $17.50 which most plates run and $25.50 for lunch, Dinner is much higher. The lunch plate was okay nothing special in flavor, the bbq chicken was burnt and dry and the mandoo was mushy inside with hardly any taste, the bbq beef was good and tender. My wife didn't care for the meat Jun which I tried and agree with her. Their Kim Chee was very good and tasty and not too spicy, but the flavor was there. Most of the ban Chan they served was very good. They must be doing something right, because they been around for many years and they did have a lot of take outs and customers dining there. Met a friend here for lunch for the first time and was greeted as soon as we walked in, order was taken and food came shortly after. I ordered the Lunch special for $17.50 which contained BBQ Chicken, Mandoo, BBQ Beef and rice w complimentary Ban Chan vegetables like kim chee. While I'm a Tasty BBQ girl, my Husband prefers it here because he loves the Bibimbap. The attentiveness and service has slowed dramatically since my last visit here over 10 years ago but I've experienced worse so i tend to not be too critical. They do have a sign in sheet but i didn't see them actually look at the list so keep an eye out if you find yourself having to wait outside for a table. The Tempura combo is still great, the Tempura fat and crispy but airy, meatjun was plentiful. Could even be enough to take home but I was very hungry. Bibimbap was a generous portion and had a offering of rice, green salad, bean sprouts, beef, and egg. Banchan was plentiful and you can always get refills. The Restaurant is a good size, there are maybe 10 booths but the ceiling was leaking so there were paper towels and buckets all over the floor, really couldn't help it bc the recent storms really did a number the last two weeks. Still, be careful as water was dripping on both the tables and seats. I did notice a bit of phone orders... like phone constantly ringing. We couldn't understand them, but we either called too late, or they weren't doing it because it was a holiday. I'm not sure, but we ended up ordering multiple two choice plates instead. When I politely questioned a price discrepancy between what was listed on the menu and what I was charged, the man behind the counter became extremely hostile. We could choose 2 items which includes BBQ Thin Kalbi, BBQ Chicken, Meat Jun, Mandoo, Katsu, BBQ Beef, Hot Chicken and Fish Jun...we chose the Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken. It also comes with 5 Banchan and a bowl of rice. Everything was so tasty...we enjoyed it a lot and wasn't full but very contented! Service was fast and so was the food. I don't mind paying the high prices on their menu but I do expect quality food, which was far from my imagination. The Kalbi was okay not the best but the Beef came in all these small pieces that were mostly all gristle parts, not beef! I ended up asking for another bowl of rice because the serving of rice that they give you is so small and not even full. I did noticed they charged me $2.50 more on my bill. The veggies that they give you were mostly uneatable. I will never go back to eat there and they are not friendly to their customers at all.
