First try of the specials here... all I have to say is the food was really dry. Ahi Katsu was overcooked, big time, and the shoyu chicken was flavorful, but dry behind the sauce. The mac salad was NOT fresh either. It was already tasting like it was 1 day away from spoiling, so that was a waste for me too. Worker was nice and the place looked busy with take out orders and large trays. I'd be back to sample other things, but for now, I wouldn't recommend the plate that I got. Shoyu Chicken & Ahi Katsu Combo $17.75 plus tax. Plenty more to choose from tho!

We stopped here for lunch after a day of viewing homes in the area. My husband loves Loco Moco, so we were immediately drawn here when we drove by. We also noticed several locals going in and out, so we knew it was going to be good. Located in a shopping center, parking was very easy. We were greeted as we walked in. Several locals were happily greeted by name as they arrived, and the cashier knew some of their orders already. We had the Loco Moco and Garlic Butter Shrimp -- so good!! My husband is not fond of macaroni salad, but he enjoyed it here and ate it all. Very reasonable prices. Super-friendly service.

The food here has gotten better and the service is amazing. The smiles from the cashiers and the the quick service is great. The boba, teas, and coffee is great. My little one enjoys just the boba, you can order a cup of it for a few dollars and have your keiki snack while you wait for you food. The fish tank is a magnet for little ones they love looking at the tank in the corner.

Food was okay. The fried rice in breakfast plate was hard. Skin on the pork belly was tough as well thought I was going to chip a tooth. Other than that, service was ok & food came out in a timely manner.

Looks like can spaghetti? No meat. Taste is OK. $14.00 plate

Today was OK, no good, not great, not totally bad, it was OK, yep 2 stars is OK. I usually go for dinner....today we went for lunch. Maybe different cook? And def different cashier. I got spaghetti and it was different. Sauce different and hardly any meat. And egg/bacon sandwich that was posted $5, charged $5.50, maybe bc it was supposed to be croissant not Loaf bread? But they ran out of croissant and said they had Loaf bread. I was okay with it...thinking maybe it's a better Loaf bread than plain white loved sandwich bread. It's not. Anyways isn't croissants more expensive then Loaf bread? Why did I have to pay more? I didn't ask. Just for the know. And now you know.

Amazing menu there's something for EVERYONE up there, so picky eaters you're in luck as well

The best place for a fast and delicious dinner when you don't feel like cooking. Staff is friendly and very personable-will make it a point to remember your "last" order and that's very impressive to us. My husband never order anything but the Furikake fish with fried shrimp and brown rice. Of course he can only eat half the plate so, it's mine for lunch the next day. Today I went for the Roast Turkey plate and got fries instead of rice. The helping was ginormous and I got gravy all over which was so, delicious. Weekends they serve Chinese Roast Pork and Char sui so, get there early.

A few days ago, placed in a dinner order with Yelp for Loco Moco. With disappointing delivery experience with GrubHub. It was extremely delayed and delivery driver leaves my food outside in the yard on the grass near my trash. Contacted customer support to express my dissatisfaction, and all they could tell me was that they would note it. No offer of compensation or reimbursement of delivery fees. poor service with GrubHub.

Getting back to the food, we had the buttermilk pancakes with the haupia sauce and the egg and spam platter with a side orde of fried rice. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were bathed in the sauce, in a good way. We've had other haupia pancakes with a drizzle of haupia, not enough sauce for entire serving. This had enough sauce for each and every bite. The pancake was perfectly cooked, soft and fluffy; enough to feed two. The spam and egg platter was a great compliment to the delicious pancakes. I really liked their fried rice. The rice was nice and moist and loaded with pieces of meat. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Dining area is large enough to accommodate from an intimate to large parties. I got mine with white rice, lomi salmon, pipikaula and haupia. The Kakaako location gives purple sweet potato instead of pipikaula. I like this place so much more. I'd rather have the pipikaula instead of the sweet potato any day. The pipikaula is juicy, tender and moist. It's so good. I also like the squid luau from Highway Inn, because it's on the sweeter side. Their buttermilk pancakes with haupia sauce and mac nuts $17.99 are excellent as well. The service was good. He came to check on us a few times. They also add a 5% kitchen charge to your bill on top of what you tip.

I don't know if it wasn't mixed right, or was just plain old. Laulau was small and dry. Kalua pig was good, but tasted a little old. Lomi salmon was good. The poi was like 2-day old, thick, dry, and sour. The haupia was little funky, solid, and grey. The white rice was brown and old. The loco moco gravy was super dark and chunky, the meat paddy tough. The mac salad tasted like detergent (like they never wash the pot good). Felt like everything we was eating was Sunday leftovers. Camille's Hawaiian Food is tucked all the way in Waipahu at Westgate Center, there are many shops here and it blends in but look for the wooden board out front with the daily specials. The prices at Camille's are reasonable and the portions size are great too, you really get bangs for your bucks here. I like they have the options of mini and regular plates. I've been here a total of 3 times, first time we tried the Hawaiian food, got take out, and most recently dined in and luckily we got some entertainment. We enjoyed the Hawaiian food, but I have to give credit to the other local foods we tried so far I got the pork chops with mushroom, garlic shrimp, crack chicken and smoked meat fried rice. Everything was tasty, really enjoyed it but just the crack chicken may be on the sweeter side, I would request for light sauce. The macaroni salad was fire! Rice cooked perfectly! There are many goodies in the fridge, pistachio cake, Ho'i'o salad, dried Aku, Opelu, Smoke Marlin, pickle onions, smoke tako, dried shrimp, drinks, and even Dubai chocolates! There are T-shirts, snacks, candies, chips for sale in front of cashier and towards the back of store. I love the color green and had to get a slice of pistachio cake, ($5.) what a treat, its been awhile since I last had pistachio cake. It was a huge slice, shared w/the hubby. It was yummy, so refreshing and moist. When I had my last bite, it got a little too sweet means I need to stop eating. hehe. Check out Camille's, support local. Oh I remember that the business is named after the owner's daughter.

What annoys me about places like this is when they are so dead and seem to need business, yet they don't see it as important to ANSWER THE PHONE! We called multiple times on different occasions and never ONCE got thru. When I went in to order, I asked the lady working if they changed their number. She said the phone number hasn't changed and insisted that she "always" answers the phone, yet when I walked in, she was sitting in the dining room rolling gaugee. After mentioning that I just called and didn't get thru, she then tells me, "oh ya, I heard it ringing in the back." --- uhh. Okay?.. So, to me, that means you don't always pick up the phone. She didn't seem pleased with my inquiry. No, "thank you" or anything after I paid and even after I grabbed my food that was ready. No eye contact. Nada. Allllllrighty then!... lol Onto the food... With zero bias after receiving that interaction, I can honestly say that I didn't miss out on anything all those other times they didn't answer their phone. The food was waaaaay too sweet for my liking, and umm.. the beef stew? It was made with sliced beef type of cut, rather than chunks. Quite odd, but all-in-all, the "beef stew" is a hard PASS for me. Aside from the different cut of beef, my plate tasted like there was a full tbsp or 2 of sugar in it. Very bizarre if what you're hoping to taste is a traditional, or even, local style BEEF STEW. The honey garlic chicken was tasteless beyond the oily sugar coating. Portion and price for the mix plate was great, but damn... everything else fell short and 90% of it was trashed. I hate wasting food and I especially hate wasting money! :(
