Everything was spot on for this visit. The fried chicken pieces were nice and crunchy, the katsu was perfectly golden, and you already know the rules: two massive scoops of white rice and a solid mound of mac salad. Of course, I had to choke the rice and chicken in the chili. When you need that quick fix and they nail the execution like this, nothing beats it. I arrived around at 9:00 am.l, 6/14/26 (Sun). I ordered takeout (Chili Rice & Korean Chicken). People were friendly and rushing with call-in, takeouts, and inside dining. My rating is low...didn't bother because of disappointment. I ordered the Korean Chicken using the app, but ordered Chili at the window. They had to delay my Korean Chicken by 10 more minutes...total of 30 minutes. However, my chili came in 10 minutes. I did that because I was hungry. But disappointment came with the chicken. No Korean Sauce. If I wanted just plain fried chicken, I would have told them. The front people are on it, but back crew need reminding or don't sell a product if you ran out of sauce...false advertisement. A guy was standing in front of me in line with 3 plates chicken with no sauce. He left disgusted. It's happening more often at night. Come on Zippy's?! We pay good money for that! However, I called the manager. She said there's a protocol and need to address it with Sunday night team and offered a new plate. I accepted since the plate was not complete. We had the fried chicken and Korean fried chicken with Mac salad and fries. The chicken had that delicious crispy skin but moist chicken on the inside, yum! The fries were just fries but we liked their Mac salad the best out of all the ones we tried. We ordered delivery and the Door Dash driver, Blake, was communicative and fast. read more

I stop by this location when I visit my mom. It's at an accessible location, but the parking can be tight. There's a restaurant section on the right and a to-go counter on the left. It's not a super clean location and the service isn't as friendly as at some of the other Zippy's. But the food is good and consistent and that's really what I'm after when I stop by. read more

Checked in for a party of 6. We had to wait a bit because of the table we requested for needed to be cleaned. Upon arriving at the table, our party wanted to switch tables. The Host did not get upset and lead us to a different table that we wanted to. As we sat looking at the menu, our Waitress Jadelyn A. asked us if we wanted to order drinks. She took our order and left. After a few minutes, she returned with our drinks. I noticed that she had alot of other tables to take care of. Happy National Chili Day... Yup that's today along with National Strawberry Day and a special recognition for me as well with meeting up with a friend for lunch made it kinda special day and as I drove around like a mission needed to be done I decided to stop at Zippy's and this Ewa location does have a special place in my heart. With a much needed break this I stopped here since they do have lots of free parking and super easy access from either direction you're coming from and the vibe here is relaxing as the dining room is nice and clean, the service here is just so friendly as I jumped to order my regular chili on white rice and it was beanless for me (they have vegetarian as well) and the special was 25% which is huge and who could you some savings...me! You can enjoy their famous chili in so many other ways as mine is on top of spaghetti, but there are Chili Hot Dog, Chili Burger, or just a Chili Plate whatever your cravings they can do it and am so happy to have the lucky timing to enjoy this famous chili on their special day. I'll love zippy's till the day I die, but just a suggestion for whoever's in charge of Zippy's Ewa: maybe teach your employees that if there's a customer holding up the drive thru line, for whatever reason, for 25 minutes, maybe tell them to go wait somewhere else and service the customers who's food is ready and pulled up when the text told them to. I work in food so I understand shit happens, but let's get it together, huh? Lesson learned: picking up food at the drive-thru is risky. To me, Zippy's is all about comfort food. I don't know if it's the greatest. I know that the quantities have reduced, but the flavor is the same so it brings back a lot of memories. This location and beach is close by so it's easy to swing by and they have both takeout as well as a dine in. The dining room is very cold so anybody who is sensitive to it being a little bit chilly because of the air conditioning bring a jacket as usual. The service of the waitresses are always very good. Every time we've tried to eat in, we end up standing around waiting to be seated with zero acknowledgment from the staff. It feels like they forget anyone's out front. Most times, we just give up and order from the takeout counter instead; which is much quicker. If you're hungry and in a rush, skip dine-in and go straight to takeout. Been here countless times and my experience has always been better than average for this location! This last time was a 5-star experience! Bf and I came in after a long day of travel. We wanted something quick and decided on a Zip Pac for me and Zip Pac Deluxe for him. It was NYE and we felt terrible coming in 30 min before they were closing the dining area at 3 pm for the holiday (We didn't know until we got there). We decided to chance um and checked in with the hostess. She was so kind about accommodating us. We were impressed with the service - no attitude or sassiness as I would have understood given we got there at an inconvenient time. Then the food! Given we were there last minute I was expecting maybe some of the food may have been sitting around already but everything was fresh! The fried chicken and mahi mahi were piping hot out of the oil, not greasy or dried out. Generous serving with the rice, teri beef. Our zip pacs hit the spot having travelled that day and was a perfect meal to start off this trip home. And even better was the Zippy's Ewa team for accommodating us with so much aloha on NYE.
