We came here for a light lunch. We shared a Korean fried chicken with chili plate and got an extra Mac salad. The chicken was surprisingly good. And there was plenty for the two of us. Well done Zippy's!

Zippy's offers comfort food at its best. It is a place for locals to come back to and always crave for whenever locals are away from the islands. The OG plate for me is the Fried Chicken and Chili. The chicken pieces and portion size may have gotten smaller but the taste and quality is still high rate. And yes live everything else, the prices also went up. Love the service by Aunties. Always warm, welcoming Aloha!

Local break... Filled with all the plate lunch and comfort food that we all love is found at Zippy's their famous Chili (bean less for me) along with their fried chicken and saimin is what many come for but reason for those that do return my vary for me is a place that it provides that and so much more. Dine in service for those that just want to relax and enjoy the comfy booths but for me the fast food counter for a quick pick up and to just chill at my own pace. Today is the spaghetti plate that's $12.99 which has insanely has gotten much smaller and to call it regular looks what used to be the mini plate size. There was more sauce than pasta perhaps it's for the garlic bread to scoop up for those that are hungry but the plate itself was enough for me. Fundraising I do have at times from kids do keep my coming back along with their zipcoin program which already has earned me enough for a reward...now that's ono ;) Thank you!

double garnish fried noodles received with minimal garnish and NO CHAR SIU.

I was craving double garnish fried noodles, and received a plate of regular noodles with NO CHAR SIU. Second time Waipahu made my order incorrectly within a few months, with former having NO follow up from Zippy's after sent experience via Contact Us. This time I am showing how lazy cooks are, even after I asked if this is double garnish, counter asked cook, and cook yelled stating YES without even looking. How can a DOUBLE GARNISH have no CHAR SIU WHATSOEVER, which shows poor customer service because no attempt was made to remedy the wrong order.

I came to Zippys because folks had recommended it however sadly I wished I had saved my money and ZIPPED past Zippys. I ordered the Korean fried chicken and I expected crispy, hot chicken. Instead I got chunks of what looked like day old soggy chicken that lacked flavor. It came with rice that was bland and mac salad, which I could only eat one bite of as it was full of onions. Also got rice & chili - it was more rice than chili and was extremely dry. I also got a brownie however it was dry and tasted like it had been sitting up there for a few days. The lilikoi I received was light and tasted like water to which I had to go back and ask the guy to please taste the lilikoi and give me his feedback to which he said "taste like it's watered down" although he said he just changed the syrup. He was kind enough to fix it however at this point I was just frustrated as if I had gone through the drive thru I would have been stuck with this. Even after fixing it, I can say I've had better. So to all of those who recommended Zippys, y'all fired!

There it is!

Dinner in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... My aunty needed dinner. My cousins suggested Zippy's because it's near to their house, and they hadn't had any of the local fast food recently. Okay! I just followed GPS and found Zippy's next to Don Quijote. The traffic pattern is simple - one way in and one way out and around the building. The free parking is all along the perimeter of the restaurant. Inside, the clean, bright environment seems like it was renovated because it had a modern portal that keeps phone orders warm. The layout was straightforward: dining-in on the left, takeout counter on the right, and bakery in-between the two. I got one of the Specials of the Day: Furikake Miso Salmon Salad. The warm salmon was delicious with a slightly crisp, flavorful outer layer on the moist, tender fish filet. The salad was made from fresh tomatoes, greens, and cucumber slices! My cousins and aunty got beef stew with rice, Teri burger with fries, and chili frank plate. Everyone was happy... especially since service was quick and courteous!

Ordered an online order, a very convenient and fast process! Got the zip pac, beef stew, and meat loaf with the gravy separate. Everything was amazing except for the gravy. I think they gave me the poultry gravy instead. I didn't mind until I tasted the poultry gravy. The gravy was saltier than usual. It was a good thing I asked for the gravy to be separated.

Their garlic rib eye steak is so great, it's just that a little pricey. I always pass by after my night job at the airport.

We can deal with it being kinda in the ghetto of Waipahu but it was the very unhappy (clearly annoyed) counterperson who was taking our order - who SNAPPED AT MY MOM because she was confused with what comes with their plate lunch AND then the cook (assumedly - a different person than who took our order) annoyingly brought our items out to the table. She ordered the chop steak - I thought tasted ok, but it was seasoned heavier than my mom would like. Portion was right for the price. I got their signature Loco Moco burrito - SAD. It was $20, majority rice and mac salad, no meat. I needed a knife to cut the burrito in half, there was no counterperson or anyone available to ask for a knife, so I kind of looked around their register area and found a random one on the side, cut the burrito in half, DEFINITELY NOT how they showed it on TV, if the counterperson came back, I probably would have asked for them to swap it out. We were sitting for about 25 mins - nobody came back to the counter? If it wasn't for the counterpersons unfriendly attitude I was planning to buy their signature dessert to go, but I was turned off by the whole experience AND he didn't come back out anyways until literally I was throwing our containers away. He didn't greet us. Thank us. Ask how everything was. Or say anything when we were leaving. We saw the owners on TV and are happy and glad to support a local business BUT NOT when your employees are rude and unfriendly. $45 - 1 mini plate + 1 signature item and 2 cans of soda, I would SKIP this place

We were spoiled to the max! The owners and their family run the place and in true Filipino hospitality, they served us buffet/family style and entertained us with their stories from their humble beginnings to what they are today. The food was the best I've had in the Island. Hands down. Everything tasted nostalgic because the technique used in cooking each dish tasted like a handed down recipe from a grandma's kitchen from back home in the motherland. If you're ever in the island of Oahu please make your way to Waipahu and sample as much of their offerings as you can and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed! 10/10 recommended coming from a humble cook who rarely raves about Filipino food because I myself learned from my paternal grandmother.

They're located on the corner and once you see a tent & smell bbq, you're at the right spot. This restaurant gave karinderia vibe to it! Karinderia is basically like those food stalls they have in the Philippines, where they have a bunch of dishes and you sit out to enjoy the food. Home cooked & affordable eats. They have everything from bbq sticks, adobo, lechon, kilawan, lumpia and more. I got the bbq stick & chicken inasal plate. The bbq stick was packed with so much flavor! The chicken inasal was more on the huli huli side & was served with Filipino dipping sauce. They also offer free sabaw with your meal. Ordering was a little complicating, they have a menu outside with food and also more food inside. The bbq items were cooked by order and the inside food had more of the Filipino dishes like (adobo). But next to the cashier, you could also find other fried dishes as well. So a little complicated. You also have the option to sit outside under the tent or inside the restaurant with AC. For this type of place, if you're dining in, you order & eat first then pay. Like any karindera. Overall, this place was VERY good & SUPER AFFORDABLE. If you want to experience a true Filipino experience with great food, this place is for you.

Luckily, we were in Waipahu again. Free, shared parking lot with other businesses. The staff greets all the customers. Restaurant seats up to 46 people comfortably inside. There's one table utilized for called via phone in advance, to go orders. AC blasting helped employees and patrons stay cool inside from warm Waipahu weather. Both to go containers were filled to the brim. I'm very selective and impressed with their beef broccoli and carrots. I loved everything from tender, marinated sliced beef, thinly sliced carrots and soft broccoli and gravy. One of the employees is forward thinking in wrapping the mapo tofu in cling or Saran Wrap to avoid spills. Loved the mapo tofu which tasted yummy and remained heat hot for my entire meal. Sauce had a little spice or kick. White rice tasted perfect and definitely complemented the sauce. Mac salad was a winner with light, cold mayo mixture, seasoned with some black pepper and grated carrots. Consumed everything with chopsticks and a spoon in my to go container. If dining in and need a spoon or fork, kindly ask employee. We're given silver utensils. Please return used metal cutlery in cup above trash. I'm happy to give this place another chance.
