Recently just moved to Kapolei and was in search for a thai restaurant. We came across this place and def had to give it a shot due to the great star ratings. Let me tell you, this place definitely lived up to it! The portions were pretty plentiful but what makes it even better was very delicious and tasteful. What i ordered: 1. Yellow curry with chicken (mild) 2. Green curry with chicken (mild) 3. Pad thai with beef 4. Pork chops (appetizer) **was crispy and tender I've been to quite a few restaurants and usually they're curry is a little bland. Supa Thai was super good! The pricing was a little on the expensive side but for the portions and how it tasted, it's minor. I did take-out but the food was ready within 20 minutes considering its father day. Located at the Walmart shopping center in Kapolei but as you turn in from the stoplight make your first right. This area has a number of food joints with this one being SUPER!!! It's cozy with 7 (4) seat tables that can move around to accommodate large parties. The servers are attentive making sure our waters were filled and to see if we needed anything. The food is superb. We ordered the fried calamari that's crispy and served with a sweet chili. The Pad Thai is full of flavor. I enjoyed the green curry with the bamboo shoots, eggplants and basil leaves. There are spices at the table to add to your liking. They also offer affordable combo plates that are not shy on portions that allow you to get several dishes for under $21. This place is yummy,. Everything is made to order it's fresh and you can get it quickly. You can take it out to go or sit in and eat there. They have a variety of foods they have mixed plates where you can try a couple of their dishes. And they even have fried chicken. It makes my family happy with all their different varieties. Chef Supa DeRose and family were initially owners of the Malee Thai Restaurant at the Sam Sung Plaza on Keeaumoku St in Honolulu from 2014 to 2020. After its closure, they opened Supa Thai in March 2022 in Kapolei and is doing well. Chef Supa is inspired by her family's farm in Central Thailand. Supa Thai Restaurant is known for its flavorful and popular dishes, e.g., pad Thai, curries, crispy pork chops, fried chicken, and basil noodles. Menu items include appetizers (spring/summer rolls, satay); combo plates (curries + spring rolls + Jasmine rice); desserts (mango with sticky rice, tapiocas, rotee); and drinks (Thai ic tea, Thai iced coffee, sodas). One does not normally see pineapple curry on the menu, so we were surprised to see it! We ordered some Jasmine rice with a ton of chicken slices into the curry, and went to town with the added spicy condiments and crushed peanuts! An enjoyable rich curry entrée! Forgot to order the curry medium hot, so we used the restaurant's handy housemade 4-bottled hot spiced variety. * Fried chicken. This was boneless chicken seasoned with Thai spices and deep fried until golden brown and served with sweet chili sauce. Fried super crisp and piping hot out of the fryer, a delicious side dish with sweet sour sauce! * Mango with sticky rice. The best yet to come, cold Hayden mango with warm coconut milk sticky rice! I could have easily eaten another plateful of dessert! Kudos to the single staff server who held the busy dine-in area that seats about 20, with all tables (except a two-seater) taken during the busy lunch hour! She managed to bring out water glasses and utensils, take/serve orders, replenish water glasses, bring out take-home containers, and processed bill payments. Watching her allowed the entire process to be such a calming nature, with all enjoying their lunch meals. The small restaurant is clean, with a nice Thai ambiance. Hours of operation are daily from 10:30a to 9p. Located next to Panda Express in a small strip mall near Walmart. Drive onto the right side of the restaurant for drive-through pick-up; park on the left side for dine-in. Yes, we see this as a favorite Thai restaurant for us, despite living so far away; but perhaps this will be an excuse for us to to visit Kapolei more often! Fried chicken, fried chicken, friedddddd chicken. The crunch is amazing, the smell is glorious, the hand held size, just what I needed today. Went with a combo, veggie fried rice with fried chicken for 21.00 bucks and now regret that I didn't visit sooner. Home style fried rice is where it's at, not overly seasoned, rough chop on th veggies, some larger pieces of egg. My aunt took me here for late lunch early dinner after arriving from mainland. Cute little restaurant and good not pad. I ordered the combo, rice curry and eggroll. My aunt got a spicy beef noodle soup and we got fried pork cutlet and tofu for appetizers. My curry broth right consistency not watery and had good amount of boneless chicken potato need to be cook more as was hard other than that flavor was there. Probably would do medium heat next time as mild had none. My aunt soup broth was good! The fried tofu was also god nice crunchy and soft inside. The pork cutlet crispy but dried inside. This Kapolei gem serves up authentic and hearty Thai food! Service is super quick, the restaurant is bright and clean, plus parking is free and super easy. I was craving khao soi, a curry noodle soup but not a lot of Thai restaurants on the island serve it. Super glad to have discovered this spot in Kapolei! The khao soi here comes with chicken and when ordering they gave us the option of having the chicken on the bone or to have it deboned and cut up for easier eating -- I went with keeping it on the bone of the aesthetics. Loved the side of pickled veggies, bean sprouts, and lime to top it off with. We also ordered the laab salad with pork and this was my boyfriend's favorite dish! Really flavorful with a little kick ( we got a "medium spice" which was good for me but my boyfriend wanted more spice). All of the fresh herbs, lettuce, and cabbage really balanced out the dish. Their combo meals are what really sets this spot a part, and I can see this being really popular among locals. We got their fried chicken and fried rice combo. Despite being packed, service was super efficient -- our appetizer came out within 3-5 minutes, and entrées followed about 10-15 minutes later. What we ordered: Summer Rolls: The peanut sauce stole the show! It's creamier and more peanut-forward than the usual Vietnamese-style, with a subtle kick. Pad Thai (Shrimp): Perfect balance of sweet and savory with generous shrimp. The fresh bean sprouts and crushed peanuts added a satisfying crunch. Crab Fried Rice: Not listed on the menu, but we spotted it on Yelp and asked -- they do make it! Mild curry undertones gave the rice a warm yellow-brown color, and there were visible chunks of real crab. The flavor is mild, not overpowering, and pairs so well with the Panang curry. Panang Curry (Pork): Our favorite dish of the night. Creamy coconut and peanut notes with a mild-medium spice level. We didn't adjust the spice but you probably could. Curry is a La carte and you will need to order rice to go with it (It does mention it on the menu). Parking: Plenty available nearby. Ambiance: Casual but cute -- string lights, a little photo wall, and kpop music make it great for a casual date or dinner with friends. The fried chicken is bomb and should be the reason you come to Supa Thai. Perfectly fried with a good meat-to-fat ratio. You can get as an appetizer or with a meal, but it's perfect and comes with a sweet chili dipping sauces. Small casual spot with maybe 8 tables, but the service is super quick and the portions largeeee. This has quickly become my favorite Thai restaurants on the Westside of the Island and should be your go to place for authentic Thai food! I'm a repeat customer and have decided to use my writing skills to write this review at 0220am because they deserve it. It's a small Thai restaurant tucked away in the shopping centers next to Walmart with plenty of parking! Service has always been fast and friendly. It's a casual dining atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced and they give decent portions of chicken in their dishes. I have not been disappointed by a menu item yet. I have a lot of favorite dishes, but tried Koh Samui for the first time. Delish! If you love eating Thai food or just want to try something new, do yourself a favor and go here. The mango sticky rice is just perfect for my preference, the mango is freshly cut and layered on top a bed of rice soaked with coconut milk! It's delicious if you love coconut milk! The Thai tea is my favorite as well, they make it a little on the sweet side which I love ! The spring rolls are best wrapped in a lettuce and dipped in the sweet and sour sauce they provide, the church you'll get will bring you back for more ! Ordered using Uber Eats. The worst Thai food I have ever had. Took over an hour and a half for delivery. Pad se uw was cold and congealed. Tom kha was cold. Sticky rice was hard. Summer rolls were clumpy. Uber Eats and the store could not have cared less. Never again. Contacted Uber Eats and they said, "nothing we can do". The best Thai food I've had in a while, if I could give them 10 's I would. The staff was super nice and the food came out fast! The food was absolutely delicious, the fried chicken was our favorite. I didn't even like fried chicken and I couldn't stop eating it! It was like light battered and crispy! Finally tried this small Thai restaurant by Walmart Kapolei. And we wish we went sooner! Everything we tried was delicious! We ordered the pad thai with beef ($16.95), fried chicken ($13.95), yellow curry ($15.95), and sticky rice ($3.50). The fried chicken was crispyyyy!! And not dry inside. Perfectly seasoned. All the dishes we chose were tasty. We ended our meal with mango sticky rice. That one was okay. The mango was overripe in our opinion. The service was friendly and fast! The summer roll came in 4 big pieces, the peanut sauce is a little light to my taste but still good. The seafood tom yum soup is very delicious and the spice level is on point. First time trying this place and it did not disappoint. The vibe is calm and clean, with almost a natural feel to it. Don't know the correct word(s) to describe it, maybe more homely feeling. The staff were kind and made recommendations for us. The food was good the Pork Tom Yum soup was very flavorful. I also ordered a plantation iced tea and was surprised to see mint and cucumbers added to the drink. It was actually very refreshing and a nice spin on the usual pineapple focused plantation iced teas I've had. It was our first time trying the sticky rice mango dessert so don't have anything to compare it to. However, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. My husband was reluctant to try it as it's not a normal thing for him, but ended up eating most of the rice. We came to this restaurant because it had better reviews than the other Thai spot. Unfortunately our experience wasn't great and we won't be back. First, the server got Papa's order wrong. He ordered curry fried rice and they brought out yellow curry. Then they told us he ordered wrong! It's unfortunate that they misunderstood, but we all heard what he ordered! They could've apologized and offered to fix it somehow but she just told us we ordered wrong. -1 star My sister asked for no spice on her beef salad. Her meal came out with chili flakes and everyone's else's food came out no spice at all. Thai food with no spice :( -1 star The yellow curry looked watery. The Thai iced tea wasn't very good and was also watery. They made it by putting the milk in the cup first and then they poured hot tea over the ice. It did not look appetizing. -1 star The kids loved the fried calamari. The Tom Kha was ok but it seemed like it would've been better with some spice. The reason I'm writing this review is because we got charged large party auto gratuity ($20 on $100) at lunch for a party of six, that was made up of four adults and a five year old and a one year old. Was craving Thai, but my favorite local Thai restaurant closed a few years ago, so I decided to try a new (to me) place. I ordered the red curry with fish and some sticky rice, and it definitely did not disappoint. The curry was very flavorful with plenty of big chunks of white fish. Next time, though, I think I'd order it with extra veggies. There was plenty of bamboo shoots, but not much eggplant. It was delicious nonetheless. And I'm also glad I opted for the mild because even that had a nice kick to it. Will certainly order take out again. read more
