9. Beef Meatballs & Steak Pho
Ana C.

Pho is one dish I can eat almost every day. My favorite place to get pho is Kapolei Pho. They are the sister company to Pho Waipahu which I also like but if I had to choose, I would definitely come to Pho Kapolei. The service there is always wonderful and I love how clean and cozy the restaurant is. Of course the pho is delicious and always on point.

Using your noodles... After some shopping that's most definitely cardio it was much needed break for some lunch and taking mom it's a no brainer that she wanted some pho and not quite familiar with the area I did a Yelp search to have found Pho Kapolei located in Kapolei Village Center which a lovely spot filled with so much to choose from including Foodland but thankfully we decided on Pho Kapolei and with a decent amount of free parking available it was an easy spot to choose. Walking in the restaurant is quite cute and cozy with a few tables their menu offering is quite impressive with quite a lot of varieties to choose from and and can see where I get the indecisiveness from as mom hopped from pho to summer rolls to bánh mì but ended up with Tofu Vegetable Pho and with that decided on the BBQ Chicken & Spring Rolls Vermicelli. Honestly I ordered that because she wanted spring rolls but are able to only eat one and I didn't want to order a whole set and thought it was more practical though wished that the other vermicelli dishes came with it too but it didn't and was offered to order a la carte pieces which was a turn off. She liked her pho but thought it lacked some flavor in her opinion while I did enjoy mine as the chicken was nice and juicy while spring rolls were crispy and hot the amount of sauce given was quite the insult as it didn't come close to flavor the entire dish as a one ounce ramekin is quite stingy and ended up eating my dish dry without sauce. Yes I could've asked for more but the standard was very minimal though the restaurant was nice and clean it seemed like the single friendly staff was doing it all and seemed overwhelmed. Thank you!

When we were picking up dinner for my friend's husband, we decided to try this place out since we were craving Vietnamese food. She's never had a vermicelli bowl so i had to have her try one. The spring rolls were so crunchy and yummy! The sauce could have been more potent, it tasted a little watered down/lacked flavor. I like my sauce to be a little more fishy. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the vegetables were fresh! I'd recommend if you're in the area to try this place!

The city of Kapolei on Oahu is my new Mecca for pho. Kapolei is a little bit out of the way for this townie but I'd be happy to take that 20 minute drive. Thanks to Yelp's recommendation, I discovered a second Vietnamese pho restaurant with a truly beefy tasting broth. It's a fatty, beefy mildly sweet and herbie soup that's awesome on its own. Don't need to squirt the hoisin to bring up the flavor like in those other places. Pho Kapolei is at a mini mall on Kapolei Parkway, in between Costco and Kapolei High School. It seats about 25 people and has the AC cranked up. The gentleman running the front had it going smooth. My food order came quickly. Everyone dining in was given equal attention. The take-out orders were handled efficiently. The

Beef Meatballs Pho ($16.95 for medium): the broth is good!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE There are cheaper options for pho in town, but if you're in Kapolei and have a hankering for Vietnamese food, this should be an option for you. Note: there is no keiki menu, so be prepped to share if you dine with a little one! === 2. FOOD Summer Rolls ($11.95) Well-wrapped, decent crunch, seemingly done fresh, served with lukewarm peanut sauce - yum! Beef Meatballs Pho ($16.95 for medium size) Three meatballs cut in half to produce six pieces - it was good to share with my little guy and the broth was decent too - even he wanted more of it :) Steak, Brisket, Tendon Pho ($16.95 for medium size) Similar story here too - good broth, good dish! === 3. SERVICE We dined in and the service was good from ordering to receiving our dishes, refill of waters. They spoke in English (thankfully) but also Mandarin it seems too. === 4. ENVIRONMENT Bright and clean, we were comfortable dining in with a little one. You might be able to fit a group of 8 if needed but likely want to stick with a group of four or less in this place. Wheelchairs and baby strollers would not have an issue here. Parking is as good as your luck is in the shopping complex lot out front - which is often a little busy in the evenings!

First time dinning in and right off the bat menu and water came right to the table ordered some summer rolls and some spring roll both was fresh and hot not saggy like some other spot, For the pho it's was hella good broth was real good and dammm it was almost clear to the point you could see the bottom of the bowl but in all the waygu pho a must if you dropping in to eat highly recommend it coming back asap on the next lunch time.... Came here as a recommendation from a coworker and I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED! First impression is this place is super clean! Made me feel confident that my food was prepared in a clean kitchen. My friend recommended the BBQ chicken and vermicelli. After talking with the owner, she suggested I get it with spring rolls. It took about 10 minutes to cook which meant it was fresh. The plate was huge! The veggies were fresh and showed no signs of being old or wilted. The vermicelli wasn't over/under cooked. The chicken were good cuts of meat, and the rolls were nice and crispy = broke da mout! Overall it came just over $18, well worth it. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

Medium brisket pho
Jeannie R.

My family and I dined here last night, and the experience was excellent. I ordered a medium brisket pho, which was outstanding--the brisket was tender, and the broth had a rich, balanced flavor. I also appreciated the vibrant, green interior décor, with healthy plants that created a refreshing and positive atmosphere. The service was attentive as well; our water glasses were consistently refilled without needing to ask.

Went in on a Saturday evening and sat right down on a booth. Service was fast The waitress took our order and brought out our waters and food. Having a grandmother who lived in Saigon and only made vietnamese cuisines this pho was spot on! Definitely the best broth I've had. The Papaya salad was so flavorful and gave the right kick. The only dish that was disappointing was the fried chicken. It was plain and salty, wasn't a favorite. Another thing was the waitress misheard one of our orders, my husband ordered the bbq plate but they gave him a bbq banh mi. We didn't make a fuss and just ate it. It was really good.

Tried this place for the first time and we are glad we did! The nearest Vietnamese restaurant to our home unfortunately closed and he haven't found a good one yet. Husband got the Pho and I got the vermicelli noodles with pork and spring rolls. Food is delicious! Service was good! We will come back!

First time customers to this hole in the wall gem in Kapolei. We came here because we were craving Vietnamese food and this place hit the spot! You can dine in and get served quickly. Instead we opt for takeout. Food was reasonably priced with each plate being more than $10, which seems average nowadays. For these 3 plates, the total was under $50. Obviously the spring rolls went by fast. As for the other plates, they were big portions so we were able to have leftovers for another day. The chicken fried rice looked a bit dry but it actually tasted pretty good. The lemongrass chicken rice plate tasted amazing and will be a dish we will return for more. We can't wait to try more dishes!

Bone in Short rib Pho!!!! The FLAVOR of the broth was AMAZINGLY FLAVORFUL!!!!!!

Some of my favorites!!!! Sooo goooddd 10/10. I've always had a bad experience with pho and I wanted to finally open up to trying it again. The many times I've dined in I always tuck to my rice plate or my vermicelli bowls. U till I finally ask the Server Tin to recommend a pho for me to try. He recommended this one and it did not disappoint. So good I could just eat the broth with rice lol. Good vibes , great service and damn good meal.

Shrimp Papaya Salad
Mia C.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite places on the west side of Oahu for Pho, Tofu Pad Thai, Lemon grass tofu sandwich and Shrimp Papaya salad. The food, price, and service are all great. Everything is tasty, affordably priced, and quick friendly service. Menu is decent sized with a variety of dishes with the usual classic Vietnamese dishes and boba drinks. I normally go for the Shrimp Papaya Salad. It's a healthy and fresh menu item. Other tables around me seem to be ordering Pho. Pho appears large and generously filled with lots of veggies and meats. By the size of them, you will not leave hungry. Parking is convenient and free as it's located in the Foodland Shopping center. The restaurant is quiet and small to where you can have a conversation. Definitely will be back and recommend this place.

We got the family mini pack - it's great for 2-3 people who have a large appetite- 3 large pieces of Kalbi - bulgofi - man du - BBQ chicken- meat Jun - rice and choice of 4 veggies. It's a generous portion of meat more than enough for 3 people and we had leftovers too. The food is very good the Kalbi is a standout and the fried Man Du and meat Jun was excellent. My heart leapt for joy seeing that I could have both fish jun AND kalbi and if I wanted I could've gotten a third choice. My eyes spotted a familiar side dish of seasoned potatoes, which I left it for the next person and got the daikon, perfectly seasoned not dry at all jap chae, and kim chi cucumbers. When I took my first bit into the kalbi, life was made good again. It was reset and welcome home I needed. It was a perfectly cut and marinated kalbi. The fish Jin was seasoned so well I barely needed to dip it into a sauce. The portions could have fed 2. I asked if they were related to the Gina's in Market City. Bro, this is the OG Gina's!! The owner said they sold the other one and his mom helped him start this one. It looked like the whole family was behind the counter. I wanted to cry. Not all things have changed in Hawai'i! Some things got better! OG Gina's being in Kapolei is one of em.

We ordered 4 chicken inasal plates, pork bbq sticks and isaw (adobo pork intestines), cassava flan and latik. Chicken inasal- was so tasty and cooked perfectly. The jasmine rice with the chicken oil and fried garlic was very good. Isaw- wow! I was a little skeptical ordering it due to bad experience from other places. I'm so glad I listened to their first customer (their neighbor). The isaw didn't have any of the gamey smell and taste, it was so good that even my daughter ate it. Pork bbq stick- tender, juicy and very tasty! Cassava Flan- tasty and not overly sweet. Perfect dessert to end a very good meal. Very positive, upbeat, and attentive. She has great servers intuition. For example, i was going on a soda fast and she could tell that I didn't really care for the lemonade. She was quick to help me find another option. I ended up going for just a plain green tea as their tap/soda machine wasn't operating properly. Second time, same issue with soda machine, but I did get to have the Li Hing Lilikoi Daiquiri that did not disappoint! I will be back for this! I do wish they fix their soda machine though. The food is always why I come again and again. The main things to highlight would be... Umami Scallion Rice, Shio Negi Tofu, Garlic Shio Cabbage. Yaki-Shabu beef, toro beef, umakara Ribeyes are definitely a must too! Scallion rice is definitely underrated, imagine scallions mixed with rice and a light semi-sweet and savory sauced flavored rice! I could eat like two and be good, but you wouldn't want to stop thefe. The negi means green onions so that with tofu... what can go wrong? I do like all the marinated meats and such! I do really enjoy the Umakara as it's rich deep flavor really brings an umami punch as well! I definitely want to come back already. Overall, a great place to come after work and enjoy some great service from Rayce. Everyone else there is super nice. The bartender, ciara or ciera? Drinks were really good too!
