Couple weeks ago had a dinner on Saturday and a lunch on Monday. I'll combine those visits in this review. Saturday went with the fam and had a long overdue dinner. We ordered a couple of pizzas, some pasta and dumplings. My grandkids were there so they both got kid's meals. I'm not really a big pizza or italian pasta guy so can't really say it was AWESOME or average. I liked it and it tasted good but your mileage may vary. Everyone did like what they had so that's all that mattered. Unfortunately my grandson's meal (chicken tenders) was cold like out of the ref kind. My wife brought it to our servers attention and she was quick to take it back and bring us another one. To their credit they took that off of our bill and 2 of the management people came to apologize and check on us. I did have a good experience during my lunch experience. My friend and I got there at opening and were the only ones in there for awhile. Menus and water came right away. We both ordered the cheeseburger on the salad (forgot what it was called). I spied that when I was there for dinner but we did family style so I didn't order it. I'll admit I'm not a burger connoisseur so I couldn't say it's the best burger you are ever going to have but I liked it and it tasted good. This review is long overdue, I frequent this CPK often as I do work nearby. I typically always have great service especially with Carali as my server or bartender. On this occasion, a few weeks ago, APRIL 3rd to be exact, it was probably not the best service I have had here, as Brandon being my bartender. What saved it, was the support from Sky (who seems to be in training still) and Carali. I always enjoy the ambiance too especially during happy hour when there is barely people in the bar and it's a random weekday. Let's start off with the drinks, always great... i get the sparkling mango sangria. You can never go wrong with this and the drink was pretty good! My friend did ask for water. At this point, there was only two other parties at the bar. It was a very slow bar. We had ordered some spinach dip (because it's a must) and some dynamite shrimp. The dip was a bit colder than I had expected and hoped it would be, so I sent it back with Carali as she was still in the bar and was the one to drop it. This came back nice and warm to my liking from the manager. I was confused as to who my bartender was because aside from the drink, he didn't really check on us or anything. I got checked on more by Carali and the other guy in training. The energy was just not there, which kind of brought the mood down Luckily the food never disappoints and was on point at the end. It was sad the dip wasn't warm, but they made up for it. The dynamite shrimp was nice and crisp, which had a sauce that was just a touch spicy, but not. Oh yeah, after the spinach dip coming back, I finally got to ask for the water again as we were still waiting for it. I really do overall enjoy coming here and will be back still! I just want to make sure I got that right bartender. There's also another local lady who is amazing, but i forgot her name. Ambiance is nice and clean, bathroom cleanliness is everything and that deserves an A+. I do sometimes feel the floor is a bit sticky. I do love my spinach dip and garlic cream fettuccini! I do really hope to have Carali as my server/bartender! She is always attentive, quick, and easy to talk to! Very good with her server intuition! I also miss having Jayna or Jana as my server. What happened to this place??? Food quality is bad. Service is mediocre. The ambiance is the same, except for the birds flying around the restaurant, the best part was the AC. When we arrived at 11:30 on a Friday morning it was pretty busy but there were quite a few empty tables and we were told the wait was 10 min., as a customer, I see empty tables, why is there a wait? Whatever the reason the hostess should have communicated a reason. Took awhile for our server to take our order, but she was nice and helpful. The food....what the heck?? Chicken Egg Rolls which I remember enjoying before were super greasy and the wrapper was weird, crispy but chewy, just not enjoyable. Ordered the BBQ Burnt Ends Pizza and it tasted nothing like burnt ends BBQ. It was like thin slices of Shabu Shabu Beef drizzled with BBQ sauce, crust was burnt, had 1 piece and I was done. Our server today was James, he did an excellent service. Attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating from start to finish. We tried one of the "New " menu items the California Burger Bowl. It was like a deconstructed Cheese Burger without the bun. A nice bed of salad with like a Honey Mustard dressing topped with a huge beef patty with grilled onions, bacon, and melted cheese. Love Their avocado chicken egg rolls, the only reason I always come back to this place. Today I decided to try the new salmon piccata, flavor was perfect but the Salmon was so dry. Swallowing each piece was a struggle but I survived, sounds so dramatic but that's how dry it was. Our server was awesome so friendly and nice. On the other hand Speed of service needs improvement. Decided to have lunch at this establishment at 11:30am. Walked in and was seated right away in a booth. Within a few minutes our server Nancy came with menus. She gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and returned to take our order for drinks and appetizers. She came back after a few minutes with our drinks and ready to take our order. The food was served to us quickly, hot and fresh. She would walk past our table frequently and asked how we were doing. She got us refills without hesitation. Came here for an early dinner around 5:45pm on a weekday, restaurant wasn't busy at all and got seated immediately. Food is always good. Reason for 2 stars is how slow service/the food came out. We waited an hour for our pastas while this other table of like 13 people got all their food before us and they sat down 10 mins after we already ordered. The group behind us about 4 people also got their food before us and they came in around the same time as the bigger group of like 13 people. Don't come unless you have the time and patience to wait for your food. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to get in touch with my table. After ordering, it 47 minutes for me to receive my foods. Not to mention, we didn't even get the complimentary bread and olive oil. I asked the waitress twice for the break and each time she just says okay and walks away. Be aware of this kitchen. I usually order BBQ Chicken Salad for lunch and have dined at Kahala, Ala Moana and Mililani locations without any issues. Dined here and had my usual, but this time I started to get itchy and throat was swelling up. My daughter gave me a Zyrtec she had in my purse before it got worse and luckily my throat didn't swell up to the point I couldn't breathe. But it was a horrible scary feeling and this happened about 5 minutes after I finished my salad and started walking to the car. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in my life. Never had allergies or any reactions to food, pollen, etc. Went to see a doctor the next day and was told Sometimes if items are not washed properly with insecticide still on it, it can cause these allergic reactions. Also if it touches something that I COULD BE allergic to, that can trigger it as well. Kind of like if someone cooks in peanut oil but doesn't wash pan completely to cook next dish and the next customer is allergic to peanuts. Cross-contamination. The service is always good at this place despite being busy pretty much all the time. Bathrooms are clean and hostesses always friendly and patient which is why the three stars. read more

This is the worst CPK me and my family have ever been to, originally the plan was to go to The Cheesecake factory next door but their wait time was 4 hours and reservation system is broken so we decide to check out CPK. We arrived at 7:30 and put ourselves on the wait list with a quote of 45 min for a party of 12, ended up waiting for 1 hour 45 min and we checked in with them multiple times, at one point we were told we we next but then saw another large party got sat in the outdoor section, after that they kept saying they were waiting for a table to leave. Once we finally get seated it's past 9 and near closing, they noticed we had a cake and offered to put it in their fridge for us which was nice. Our server came by and was friendly but we felt she might've been either been new, very tired or both as we suggested to split the food orders into 3 checks so that it would be easier for her and us at the end but she kindly declined and said "it's okay we'll split it at the end" she takes our orders but says only to do drinks and appetizers first although we were all ready to order our main dishes as we've been waiting for almost 2 hours prior and everyone was hungry and tired. The apps took a while to come and then we get our order in for our main dishes, that also took a long time to arrive. The food was good but our main dishes didn't come til around 10:15 and my two brothers, one who's birthday it was ordered the same thing - salmon with jasmine rice, their dishes arrive later than everyone else's and was served with corn not the jasmine rice so we asked if there was a mistake, the server apologized then takes their dishes away and it takes almost another 15 min for the dishes to come back for them and everyone is eating while they are sitting waiting, by the time they get to eat the party is pretty much done eating and the server comes to split the checks into 3 but was having difficulty with the small device saying it wouldn't let her so we all had to look at the checks and separate everything manually, she came back with new printed receipts and there was still mixups on who's food or drinks was on which check and earlier we had ordered only 3 mango strawberry coolers but somehow ended up with 4 on the check so I had to explain we only ordered 3. At no point in time did a manager come to help the server or speak to us, the server must've went back and forth from table to the main device for the check a few times and with long wait time in between each to where we were the last party in the whole restaurant and it started to get more and more awkward because we wanted to have cake for my brothers birthday and felt like it would be weird to sing and spend even more time in the restaurant eating while it's quiet and the workers are trying to close up, also thought it was weird that they knew we had a birthday and didn't do anything to acknowledge the birthday or offer some kind of complimentary dessert, not even offer to bring the cake we brought was even an option so we decided to sing happy birthday OUTSIDE the restaurant but couldn't share cake with the family as we had no plates or utensils overall service was not good and would recommend any other CPK on island but the one at Ka Makana Ali'i. The Auntie who was our server (wish I remembered her name) was so nice and friendly. She made it a point to check on us frequently and exemplified great customer service. She was patient with our ordering and made sure that she had everything right considering we ordered quite a few things. We loved everything that we ordered: 1. Spaghetti Bolongnese (first time having it and we enjoyed it. It was so tasty and even better the next day) 2. Thai Crunch Salad (refreshing and loved the cilantro that was added in) 3. Happy Hour/dinner at CPK! Long time no see, so I was excited. I was surprised to see them busy on a weekday around 5pm. There was an issue with their computer system/tablets, so it added to the delay in seating guests. My wife and I waited about 15 mins on top of our early check-in that we initiated at the time we left the house. We were seated at a 2-top table around the bar, which I don't prefer, but we took it. Our server was the bartender who appeared to be working solo w/1 bar back, so each "pause" was quite delayed as well. Drinks took 15 mins. They arrived after we received one of our appetizers (with no plates or utensils). Salad, pizza, and egg rolls trickled in one after the other... definitely not in sync. I always have a bad experience here. I let it go the first couple of times because I don't like to leave bad reviews. There's always something in our food, as if they didn't wash the dishes good and the lady that took our order, forgot our order a few times. I get that it's busy, but it was a little much. I also added a photo of the new shrimp pasta (I peeled the shrimp). Which is not what I'm complaining about... the portion size is just really small and for a "pasta", there aren't much noodles. She then brought us each a glass of water and told us to take our time, just let her know when we needed help ordering ! AGAIN... WHAT? Amber is like an angel from heaven ! I was in a state of shock! We completed our phone business and then told Amber we were ready to order ! She came to us with a huge smile , which she wore the entire time , and gave us the BEST SERVICE I have ever in my life had ! If I added everything she did and said I would run out of space ! She was perfect in every way! I felt more than valued ... I felt like I was royalty ! So... I had to tell her day boss Vincent who was equally as awesome ! Wow what a pleasant surprise, a great lunch today at CPK. The order: Daddy - The West Coast Burger (wcb) with extra crispy smashed potatoe wedges. Yes I know...whaaaaa a burger from a pizza joint, haha YES. My wifey was craving cpk and me a burger. So win win! Haha. The burger was awesome, big, loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and bacon. It was juicy, savory, and fresh all in the same bite. The smashed taters, my oh my was that delicious. Must be slightly breaded as the outside had extra crispy with that hot, soft and moist interior. Mommy/Son-son: The BBQ chicken pizza, ordered well as son-son needs cheese to be baked good in order to eat it. It didn't skip a beat delivering that sweet, savory, and lucious cheesy bite. We were the first to enter, so seated and being served first was awesome. The hostess and our waitress greeted us with smiles and were pleasant and attentive. TAKE OUT REVIEW I was gifted a couple CPK gift cards and used them at the KMA location. The online ordering process was super simple to use. The staff I interacted with at pick up was top notch. They greeted me right away, they were pleasant and everything was accurately bagged for me. I religiously check every pick up order I make anywhere and they nailed it. My order had all of the correct sauces, correct amount of utensils and no food items were missing. I used my gift cards on different days and each experience was the same. Solid work guys. We walked into an almost empty restaurant at 2pm and the hostess sat us at the table closest to the restrooms. When we asked politely to sit somewhere else the hostess barely responded but said no!! We sat but after a moment we got up and explained our reasoning for not wanting the table we were put at and asked again to change because there's no reason to stare at a utility hallway during a meal when there's 60 other tables to sit at, am I crazy?!!! She did move us, but said absolutely nothing to us in response!?!? She was busy doing nothing I guess??? Didn't want to be interrupted??? Always a favorite restaurant of ours when hunger strikes and we need to grab food for our whole family. Its quick service and casual ambiance makes it a more family friendly spot to dine without us having to worry with our toddler. We were fortunate to visit for Veterans Day and have gone in previous years as well in celebration of my husband & veteran. We are always very impressed and appreciative that CPK does this every year for Military veterans and enjoy a nice meal together as a family. This year we both had the B-B-Q Chicken chopped salad a favorite dish of ours especially me. We do love their pizzas naturally and pasta as well including the chicken piccata. I would've given this year's rating 5 stars however although understanding it was busy our waitress forgot about our utensils and we tried to catch her several times. It's like they are always at half capacity or less but the food still takes an hour to get to you. For dine in and take out! We went to CPK at Happy hour and was charged full prices for our apps and beer. What a shame it is that you cannot trust workers. Shame on you!! Took us over 2 hours at CPK when all was said and done. I was trying to be real patient and just enjoy my night. Fool me once shame on you, never again!! Food was just ok, pasta was really good. Pizza was made badly. Crust was good but toppings were lacking and it was a Margherita pizza, I mean how can you screw that up‍ Spinach dip was the worst I've ever had at CPK. Salad was good. Dessert was little dry, thank goodness ice cream helps with that. One star is really because of the over charge. Whoever was making the pasta tonight did the best job! Ordered 2 pizzas and a baked Mac n cheese. The carne asada pizza was burnt and while eating a slice of the pizza, I noticed the peppers were hard to chew. I took the pepper out of my mouth and it was actually a wire! (See pics). I called them right away and spoke with manager Jacang . He apologized and asked if I could send pics of it to his email. He responded to my email with apologies and that they will do better. He only offered to refund me for 1 pizza and after looking at the credit back to my card, he even kept the tip I gave! He should've comped my entire meal. Lesson learned to chew your food slowly because I'm lucky I didn't swallow it or I would be in the ER right now. Very disappointed at the quality check of their food. Also the portions of the food has decreased. I'm not gonna trust doing take out from anywhere. Very traumatic. CPK do better! read more

Food was good as usual. No complaints. Which is why we always return. We sat at the bar because we were gonna be in and out. Sadly, our server/bartender was maybe having a bad day. While we are waiting for our entrees, we asked for an another order of bread, cheese and olive oil and she totally did the hair flip to us. RUDE. We asked nicely and do understand it can be busy, but her behavior towards us was simply unacceptable. Oh and, the bread never came. She also never came back to check on us. The food runners brought our entrees out. Hmmm.... Like I said. Maybe she was having a bad day. We all do. Sometimes it helps to go to the back and "fix your face" real quick. Come back and fake it. Today's service was AWESOME! The waitress was really good. She not only got us set for drinks but made sure she sent in our appetizer so by the time we were finished with THAT our food JUST CAME OUT AS WELL! That's how I like the service. Clockwork. Not the ones where they're trying to rush you into getting you food in and getting you out. How she did today for us was perfect! Then when she brought our drinks we were ready to order. When she put in our order our & checked in her other tables, our app order came out & was delivered to us. By the time we ate the last piece our food was being served. This was what I was waiting for because dad got a burger. Not just any burger, but this monstrous burger. Bebeh got Mac n cheese, while baby got pizza. I got the salmon & the keiki Mac n cheese too! Love the Mac n cheese too! So I figured I can get it not just for me but for baby as well. WHICH I was correct! Dad said he wanted pizza but I told dad he won't eat it! Get him Mac n cheese. But because baby kept nagging dad for pizza, he got what he wanted. Now now that our food is here, we're digging in. Tell me why baby didn't touch his cheese pizza, refused to eat from dad's burger and so I got my Mac n cheese & quickly slipped it into his mouth and it was over! "Momma, I want Mac n cheese. PLEASE!" Dad looks at me and I just smiled and said, "we'll pack to go." LOL! But the food was super delicious and just right! We all enjoyed our meal that day. Oh and the service was wonderful. This CPK is located in Ka Makana Ali'i shopping center in West Oahu, nearby Olino movie theater. Parking is ample and never had an issue with it. We recently came here twice, one in the late evening and one around afternoon/lunch time. We got the popular BBQ chicken and Works pizza, BBQ chicken and Thai crunch salad. All were delicious and was a good portion to share between a couple of people. We also tried the Szechwan chicken dumplings and buffalo cauliflower wings for the first time. Both were alright but probably wouldn't order again. It's my pet peeve at restaurants when starters/apps are served at the same time as the main entree, and this happened to us both times we dined in. The dumplings were barely warm and lacking flavor, and if you don't eat the cauliflower wings right away they got soggy and I'm not a fan of the cheese that's supposed to compliment it. The Thai crunch and BBQ chicken salad were both flavorful, abundant in toppings and really refreshing. We liked both of the pizzas because there's lots of flavor and toppings and the dough and crust isn't too much or greasy. There are many seats to dine in. Some booths, some tables and some seats at the bar. Every time we went, we got sat right away. But throughout our meal, we weren't checked on until it was time to pay. 4/5 stars because the food is above average, location is good and it's a place to get a "nicer" dinner.
