We got the banana pancakes, corned beef hash moco, and Vinha D'Alhos. All were comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a local breakfast spot. We ordered five pancakes thinking we'd finish them but only made it through three. The aunty at the counter knew better and served it in a to-go container. She even brought us extra plates because she knew we were going to share everything. That kind of thoughtfulness really stood out. She asked if we wanted the corned beef hash crispy and of course we said yes! The banana pancakes were hot, soft, fluffy, and not overly sweet. The Vinha D'Alhos was hearty and satisfying, perfect tang alongside the pancakes. The aunty working the counter was filled with aloha, and it was obvious she was adored by both the staff and other patrons. They were in the middle of cleaning when we arrived, but it didn't hinder our experience at all. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and we genuinely had a good time. I like Koa Pancake House, they have the best corned beef hash and vinha d'alhos (pork marinated in a mixture of garlic, wine, and vinegar). But, the one thing I will not recommend here is the hamburger loco moco - the patty was super hard and had no flavor at all. The gravy was also bland and a bit too thick/gelatinous in my opinion...definitely SKIP! If you order takeout check your food and make sure you have all your condiments. The food was excellent my daughter had the breakfast plate with link sausage scrambled eggs n rice I had the breakfast plate crispy bacon scrambled eggs with fried rice and we shared chocolate chip pancakes I had coffee. Food: this place has something for everyone. The got sweet, they got savory and they the usual breakfast staples. My kids usually get the pancakes. What I usually get is the Vinha D'alhos with rice. Just writing about it makes me hungry. Its this marinated pork that fried. It has a tangy vinegar and shoyu taste and it's so good with rice. Anyway, so I brought my relative here. I ordered the Vinha D'alhos for her. She took a bite and her eyes lit up. She said it tasted so good. She ended going back another day for more. I usually visit the Pearl City location, but since I was staying in Ewa Beach this time, I decided to try the Kapolei location, which has no drop-off. The three-egg build-your-own omelette with either hash or potatoes is a must-try. The portion sizes are massive, so it's perfect for sharing with someone or if you're really hungry. The food service is amazing. From the manager to the people at the concessions, everyone treats you like family and is very prompt with delivery services. Some locations can be very crowded, so be prepared for a long wait if you want to get in and out quickly. Overall, Koa Pancake house is definitely worth the visit. Ordered our food and while sitting and waiting in great anticipation, since this is one of my favorite spots to come iykyk. Service was great, our cashier was very kind and friendly, lots of seating and such a beautiful restaurant. We ordered our regular breakfast and paid extra for the fried rice. The fried rice didn't have any taste and there was chunks of white rice ( not mixed well). It just tasted like regular white rice. We went for brunch on a Thursday morning. It wasn't full, there were a lot of seats available at that time. The air conditioning was set at a good temperature and seats were comfortable. The servers were quick, very pleasant, and smiled a lot. The price was reasonable for the huge portion sizes. The crepes were really huge and thick... may feel like you're getting your money's worth for the price but it really felt more like a "crepe-style pancake" than a crepe, so it wasn't as fun to eat. It was crazy filling because it was so thick... the strawberries and bananas helped make it more palatable. If you were hoping for a thin light crepe, maybe no need order this one. We love going to Koa Pancake house afor breakfast and for me I love their fried rice and extra crispy Belgian waffle. Although the fried rice is simple with just ham and green onions, there is just something about it that I really like. We decided to order breakfast online at this location. I went into pick up our order and was glad that they were able to have it prepared earlier than the given time. I got home and we opened up our food to eat. When my boyfriend took a bite into the fried rice, he told me it tasted like a cleaning agent was mixed into it. I was shocked and tasted rhe fried rice in my plate and it was the same thing. It was awful and upsetting. We couldn't even eat it because it was really really bad. I called the restaurant to make a complaint and spoke to the Manager. He was kind enough to say the next time we come in, we can tell him he said that our meals would be comp. I don't understand how our fried rice could have tasted like that and I wonder if anyone had the same issue. Luckily, we did not get sick from it. Koa Pancake House in Ka Makana Alii mall is failing in life. I ordered online and it said 45 minute wait so I got there 15 minutes early after going to Coffee Bean. I walked up to pick up area lots of bags no help but four workers there. They refilling butter and syrup but no customer service at all. I walk out and wait on the bench and five minutes till I walk back in. Again nobody asks for my name to pick up my order no eye contact nothing. So I wait standing there till I see a cook walk away from the grill. I asked is my order ready and give my name. The girl hands me a bag of my cold order that sat there for at least 15 minutes. WTH A couple of customers who seen me get my food and walk to my car came up to me and said that was really bad service you got. The food was amazing! Fresh and hot as it arrived. Easy to order and I love the variety of things I can choose on their menu. It came out so quickly probably like 5-8 minutes. They brought our dishes nicely onto our table. The staff is so helpful and friendly to me and my friend. The food was so good, the waffles was so crispy and yet soft and same as the bacon. So it was a treat to come back to one of the locations during a family trip. I had to order the corn beef hash with eggs and buttermilk pancakes. I also got to try to the corn beef hash Loco Moco that my sis had and the macadamia nut pancakes. Everything was cooked perfectly. It was genuinely a good home cooked breakfast. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The Macademia pancakes had a good natty flavor. The inside of this Koa Pancake house was small, but could accommodate a fair amount of people. This location is located in an outside mall and opens earlier than the other stores. The servers were very nice. They did forget one of our sides but they were able to make a quick fix to it. But I give them credit because on the day we went, the place was packed. I recommend this spot for the good food and the good prices. I also think this spot is for families. To be honest just wondering why this location takes so long to get food prepared, this location is by far the worst in service time, went to pick up today there's 6 workers in the front only a handful of customers, and my food wasn't ready that I called in 10 minutes prior, and I had to wait an additional 15 minutes, that a long wait for an order that I called in, slowest location by far, the fastest I experienced was the Wahiawa location, there so fast I call in my order, when I get there it's already ready. 100% of the time never had to wait no matter if there busy it's always ready, but this location I always have to wait 100% of the time. read more
