Yellow Curry w/ Chicken
Kristian G.

I'm always on the hunt for new food spots. Even though there are plenty of Thai restaurants in my area, we decided to venture out to Waipahu after noticing that Siam City Thai Kitchen offers several dishes I haven't seen at the Thai places I usually visit. They had an array of dishes that peaked our interests, but we ultimately decided on the crispy rice salad (kao yum nam), grilled steak salad (nam tok), crunchy ong choy (yum pak boong thod krob), and lastly a classic yellow curry with chicken. Everything was so flavorful! My favorite has to be the kao yum nam! It was truly a flavor bomb or salty, sour, spicy and fresh from the herbs. The crispy ong choy portion was HUGE! If you're not with a large group or aren't ready to tackle a lot of fried food, it might be best to save this one for when you have more people to share. That said, it was absolutely delicious. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly, and the yellow curry was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The service was great. Our waitress checked in on us and made sure our water was filled. She made great conversation and was curious on our opinion on the dishes. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and appeared to be clean. I'll definitely be back!

$18 Crunchy Ong Choy Salad - is a tempura salad (potato leaves?) with a yummy sauce... memorable. Must try.

Dinner with friends on a Saturday night... thought we'd introduce them to something different - Thai cuisine, unfamiliar entrees. They take reservations and it's BYOB. Lots of parking and place wasn't packed. Nicely decorated and welcoming staff. Ordered Crispy Rice Salad, Grilled Steak Salad, Crunchy Ong Choy Salad and Double Fried Chicken... fed 4 perfectly. These were all unique salads but included some protein so they were each fresh & tasty. We enjoyed everything despite not ordering the usual Thai dishes... different was good and delicious. We really enjoyed this new Thai cuisine experience, and will definitely return.

Craving some Thai food and called in a pick up order at Siam City Thai Kitchen. Hubby said the decor was authentically Thai. This was encouraging since we rarely take out Thai food because his Thai mama often cooks for us when she's in town. We ordered the fried chicken per other Yelp reviewers, as well as the panang curry and pad Thai, both with chicken. Reviewers mentioned the spice level is not to be taken lightly here, so we ordered a 0 level to make sure our son could eat it too. Fried chicken was crisp and tasty, not greasy. Panang curry was full of flavor despite not having the usual spiciness. And the pad Thai was my picky toddler's favorite. Definitely will be one of our go-to Thai restaurants when we can't get home cooked Thai food!

Always in search of the most Amazing Fried Chicken in Hawaii and boy have I found a hidden gem right here in Waipahu. The Double Fried Chicken here at Siam City Thai Kitchen has an incredible deal of their Fried Chicken. You get 4 pieces of the most Amazing Fried Chicken you'll ever sink your teeth into. The Batter had the most amazing crunch and it's so reminiscent of eating Fried Chicken from the Manapua Man but served piping hot and not soggy at all. And for the $8.99 price tag you get one heck of a deal. It comes with a Sweet Chili Sauce on the side. I still can't get over how Thai Restaurants nail the Fried Chicken game. Im definitely coming back here for this mose amazing Fried Chicken. Just a reminder this place get very busy so please be patient. The aunty in the front is a sweetheart. The Fried Chicken does have bones and love how they cut the Fried Chicken up and then Deep Fry it. All I need is some rice and Mac Salad and I'm good Can't beat a great deal people and here at Siam City Thai Kitchen much mahalo for great great value!!! -- at Siam City Thai Kitchen.

I saw a review from Tommy Eats on IG and had to check this place out. I'm so happy I did! I made reservations at 6pm. The restaurant is small but I loved the pretty decor. The girl that helped me was friendly. I ordered the Double Fried Chicken, Sweet and Sour Stir Fry with Shrimp, Panang Curry with Chicken, Crunchy Ong Choy Salad and side of sticky rice. The portions are pretty decent. Everything was amazing! My favorites would be the Panang Curry and Ong Choy Salad. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Ended up here by accident and so glad we did! We tried ordering from a couple other places but they were either closing for the night or wait times were too long. And we were at Walmart Kunia so this was close by which worked out great! The inside of the restaurant is so nicely decorated with pretty decor and even the entrance to the bathroom is fancy. And the restaurant is so clean. It's a small place with about 6-10 tables. The worker was so nice and friendly. We asked him if they are the ones that sell the food at the temple in Pearl City (Wat Thai) across of Sam's Club and he said yes. I went there years ago and their food was so good. Anyways, we ordered the pad Thai with beef, spicy mixed vegetables with shrimp, and the fried chicken. The pad Thai was good, but just a little oilier than usual. The mixed vegetables was really good. I loved the spice level on it and the flavor was very good. And the fried chicken was nice and crispy and juicy on the inside. The 3 plates were perfect for 3 people and we even had a little left over. I'm definitely so glad we ended up here. If you haven't already tried it, I suggest you make a visit real soon. As always, it's better to eat there especially if you get the fried chicken. But still super good even if you take out.

Their double fried chicken cannot be beat! Four pieces for $8.99! I ordered this for my church all the time! Everybody loves it!

Papaya Salad

I hadn't been here in a while, but my friend and I decided to stop by since we were in the area. They open at 10 AM, which was perfect for an early lunch. The mother and daughter who run the place are still there, but this time, we were served by a different waitress. I asked her if they still had the papaya salad with raw crab, as the chef used to make it. Unfortunately, I got a very quick "no," so I guess it's no longer on the menu. That was a bit of a bummer. We ended up ordering the Lao-style papaya salad, nam tok beef, chicken feet skin salad, and sticky rice. The flavors were absolutely incredible and brought back memories of enjoying Thai food with my parents. I was so happy to find that the taste hasn't changed--it's just as delicious as I remembered. Even though the waitress was a little intimidating, I would still recommend this place. The food alone is worth it!

I lived in Waipahu and can't believe I never stop by here. Place is really clean with some really amazing decor. Service was quick. Friendly staff. I ordered Thai Tea and seafood Pad Na. It's this wide soft rice noodles. Probably the best gravy sauce I ever had. Flavor was on point.

I've been in search of the perfect papaya salad and I've finally found it! I got the medium spice level and it was a Thai medium on the spice scale! A good amount of heat and so much flavor! I also got a side of sticky rice and it was a good size. Looking forward to coming back for more soon!

Been looking for a new Thai restaurant since everything seems to be becoming a chain these days. Pao is the owner operator and she couldn't be better with customers. Food is FANTASTIC!!!, and sooo much of it. I love it thai hot & cautiously went for 4 out of 5 heat and it was enough! GO!

Great find! Spent the day on the beach and needed some spicy soup. Haven't found any authentic pho in Oahu, so went looking for some Tom Yum. Man this place hits! Better than Thai town in Hollywood. Legit, ginger, lemongrass... so good. Pad see ew amazing. Yellow curry perfect sweet and heat. Great portions. 2 nights in a row. Beautifully decorated. Service was great! Owner is so funny!

Double fried, fried chicken!

Well we went on a Sunday night and the restaurant had three tables left. We occupied one and ordered five dishes. The kitchen staff had two cooks and the front end had one person. She was overwhelmed! Because the rest of the other tables filled after we sat. It took about 30 minutes to get our first two dishes and another 20 minutes for the other three. We were in there a bit over an hour and a half. I appreciate good food and especially the service. I can't fault the waitress/hostess because she was handling all the tables and the phone orders as well. The place deserves at least four stars for cleanliness and quality but I will give her three because of the long wait to get our dishes to us. I wish them the best and remember these are the same people who make the Cbao-Siam pork rinds you see sold in grocery stores like Safeway. They're awesome pork rinds if you haven't try them yet. I recommend the double fried chicken, spring rolls and chicken panang. The pad kee mow is also great!

Other Thai restaurants pack their curry with filler, but this place doesn't! Their curry is the absolute best and their staff are always welcoming snd friendly. I would just go here for the great food alone, but the great staff makes it with an easy 5 stars. Parking is a little rough here, but that's because people are always eating here so you may need to pack a little far away. There is only one handicap stall, and so be ready to walk a little. Pricing is fair. Things have definitely gone up, but if you want cheap Thai food you won't get this kind of quality. I easily spend $50 to $100 on two people when I eat here so it's more of a treat and not an every day meal. It's great food and so I only get to treat myself when I can afford it. We can't live in luxury every day, and this Thai food is definitely a luxury! Their current restaurant dining area itself has an authentic Thai vibe, and sometimes they even play Thai music on the digital screen in the dining area. If you eat here then prepare to be immersed in Thai culture!

It has been so difficult to find one as perfect as they were. So, we are very well experienced in Thai food even in Thailand multiple times. Ordered green chicken curry, Pad Si-Eiw, spring rolls, rice. The spring rolls were good, lettuce leaves were tiny but fresh, dipping sauce was great too. The green curry was so awful tasting that we didn't eat it. I've never had green curry that didn't even taste like thai green curry like this. Not sure if fill in cook at lunchtime or what but it didn't even have coconut cream in the sauce. Had to take home to fix this problem, worst ever and would never recommend. Same with the Pad Si-Ew. Totally flavorless! You could tell they just threw it together with precooked pork, precooked broccoli, and tossed it onto the noodles barely fried in a dead sauce of nothing. Another total failure. Do not recommend this or any if this is how they prepare their food. Rice was standard. Will never return to this location again. Can't imagine where or how the good reviews came from but from our experience, they weren't even close.

Of course we parked at the end of the lot furthest from the restaurant but that's all right because we need the exercise. I have been to several other Thai Village locations and the food has been pretty good. Not so much at this one, though. We ordered the shrimp rolls, which are the uncooked ones. They were ok. Daryl had a major heart attack a couple years ago in Las Vegas so has been trying to eat a little healthier. We also ordered the green curry with chicken and the pad see ew with chicken. Both dishes were not thrilling. Of all the Thai Villages I have been to, this was not the one which I would consider the best. I think the ones in Aiea and Kapalama are a lot better.

So I arrived 10 minutes before the food stalls closed but honestly they stayed opened a bit longer than their closing time. As I saw ppl arrive even later and was able to still make purchases. I do have to say that they do start cleaning, and not everything is available as things were being sold out. They have a table for you to grab utensils and condiments. There are some tables you can sit and eat the food that you purchase. Most of the food I purchased was about $10 each. And you pay each stall that you are at. The hard part is that they do not have a website and they are not open every Sunday either. So try calling or just randomly go and pray that it will be opened. I honestly really enjoyed my visit.
