Pad Thai - Thai Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I stopped by Pad Thai in Salt Lake on a rainy day and had a pleasant meal overall. We ordered the spring rolls, chicken Pad Thai, chicken Pad See Ew, and a medium spicy Tom Yum Soup. The spring rolls were probably my favorite item of the meal. They were crispy, flavorful, and a great way to start. For the entrées, the Pad See Eiw was very good. The Pad Thai was enjoyable, but I felt it was a little dry and could have used more sauce. It still had good flavor, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. The Tom Yum Soup paired nicely with the meal and was refreshing without being overwhelming. The medium spice level added some heat while still allowing the other flavors to come through. The service was okay, and the atmosphere was about what you'd expect from a casual neighborhood restaurant. Nothing particularly memorable, but comfortable enough for a relaxed meal. Overall, the food was tasty and reasonably priced. While nothing completely wowed me, there were several dishes I would order again, especially the spring rolls. read more

What a gem!!!! This place is a sleeper! So good! We have only had to go and it's fast and hot! Wish the portions were larger. We felt skimped on the drunken noodles this go around. But every this is delicious!! Love the drunken noodles, pad Thai and their fried rice. Service is so fast. Can't beat a good reliable hole in the wall! So yummy! read more

We were in the area tonight and my hubby was looking to pick up dinner. We had all our groceries in the car from Safeway, so we did take out. He ordered the Pad Thai with chicken $13.99. It was one of the best that I've had in a while. It was fragrant and the flavor was spot on. The balance of sweet and sour was perfect. The dishes are reasonably priced and came out fast. I will return to try their curry. read more

We had a vegetable with chicken plate with medium spice. The food was very good, but I would have preferred it a little less spicy. The service was fast and good, but they used the window side as a storage for card boxes, so that should be cleaned up! We would definitely come back when visiting Honolulu. :-) read more

Yup we're here... Finding ourselves at Salt Lake Shopping Center for dinner at Pad Thai where it's located along with a few other biz lined up right beside Safeway. Walking in the places very tiny though nice and clean and do manage to have several tables that did fill up quite fast and with that there's no restroom which you need to go to the mall provided one definitely takes a star away for me though the convenience of ample free parking is always nice. We did order the usual preferred dishes of Pad Si Eiw, Yellow Curry with sticky rice and Pad Kra Pao (I could be mistaken with the spelling) okay did I enjoy it...yes though I'm more of an americanized palate but do love Thai basil and the flavorful spices that makes it unique though somehow it just fell short for me visual for me as raw cabbage and carrots as a garnish or accompaniment felt like an afterthought. The vibe is very busy with many taking advantage of their take out is nice to see but it didn't impress me much sadly but love the time spent with friends, thank you Nadine and Peter. Pad Thai - Sweet sour stir fry with pork, eggplant basil, mild papaya salad - Thai Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Dinner at Salt Lake Shopping Center in Honolulu, Hawaii... Looking for a restaurant that Irene M. and I haven't visited yet is challenging. We wanted to select Thai cuisine because it's Peter Y.'s favorite. Peter said he had been to Pad Thai in the past and he had liked it. We wondered how long ago his experience had taken place because there was room for improvement... We appreciated the free shared parking. It was tight because - after work, people tend to want to go grocery shopping at Safeway; go to the credit union; grab some dinner; have dessert; Etc. Yes... it was a busy time. We didn't have a reservation, but got seated before the crowd arrived. It was a good thing that Peter warned me about the restroom... it's "far away" - by Safeway - and up the stairs. I got the key from one of the workers and headed across the way. It was spooky because a guy was coming up the stairs behind me. I entered the gated area quickly and shut the door behind me immediately! I went to the last stall and let out a scream because there was a woman in there! She hadn't locked the door! OMG! Outside of the restaurant, some sketchy people were hanging around. There was an undernourished gal who was talking to herself while a guy was trying to pick her up... like in a flirting way... LOL! Cringe! Inside the cozy restaurant, we ordered Pad see ew, Pad kra pao, and yellow curry with sticky rice. The food seemed a bit Americanized because - for example - the Pad see ew had celery and baby corn in it! The yellow curry was almost bland and the sauce was liquidy... The Pad kra pow was missing a fried egg on the top and a bed of rice on the bottom. Instead, it had bell peppers and bamboo shoots mixed in... LOL! I'm glad we got a chance to try this place together. It might be a rare one and done visit... Thanks to Irene and Peter for the very interesting conversation and super great company! read more

We're staying in a hotel off Nimitz and wanted Thai food that wasn't too far away and inexpensive. We found Pad Thai, ordered online, and it was ready in 15 mins. Inside was tiny, I didn't look around too much to see the appeal inside, but they promptly handed me my order when I walked in and said I'm here for a to go order! The food was piping hot, definitely fresh and made to order. My mom got the 33. Tom Yum Soup (Medium Spicy) and it said it came with shrimp. It didn't come with shrimp, it came with chicken, so she was disappointed. They should update their menu online!but the broth was hot, tasted great, and the soup was loaded with mushrooms and chicken. I had the pad Thai. I wanted it spicy but it wasn't so I added my own hot sauce at home. It was good. Both the soup and pad Thai portions were huge and we have enough for a second meal. I also opted to try the mango sticky rice. It wasn't too bad either. The rice was just a big ball soaking in coconut milk, and the mango was sweet but brown in some spots. Overall not a bad dinner, I'd just change a few things. read more

OVERALL 4.5/5 PARKING: Free in the shopping center parking lot AMBIANCE: Feels very mom n pop, about 7-8 tables inside, when I came nearly all the tables were full, weekday at 5pm. FOOD: I wanted quick take out, so I called in a quick order of shrimp pad thai and also an order of spring rolls, which are basically egg rolls. It was ready in 15 minutes. The shrimp pad thai had 6 good sized shrimp and a small container of chopped peanuts. The spring rolls had a few slices of cucumber, and some lettuce to wrap the egg rolls up in, along with a clear dipping sauce. Big fan of those spring rolls! read more

Pad Thai - Calamari with extra goodness sauce Yummy, a must order - Thai Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Some places are good and not so good at the same time and this is one of those places. We live near here and even though we enjoy the stuffed chicken wings, the yellow curry and the sticky rice. For some reason they don't get the order is correct at times. There has been times that we've had to wait because they do not correctly complete the order and instead of giving us a break on the cost they basically have no apology. I would say the food here is 3 star good which is good in the middle of Salt Lake because there is very few places around here that make good food. The restaurant is pretty small so if you have a big party, you might not have enough space for everyone. And sometimes oddly enough there is a person selling jewelry on one of the tables so it's kind of an interesting situation. If you live in Salt Lake and you are thinking about eating some Thai food and you don't want to drive too far I was suggest you try this place and let me know. read more

One of my favorite thai food places on island! Dined in this time. Server came super quick. Brought water and took order. Food came out quickly. Chicken sateh was amazing. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed the peanut butter sauce and the coconut sauce on top - yum! The green curry was good. I just wish it was a little thicker as it was a little runny and soupy, but the flavor was definitely there. The rad nah is my absolute favorite! So flavorful and delicious with yummy noodles. Good Thai food! Good for value. Cooks fast. Ordered #21 Fried long rice w/ beef & 26 Pad raumit w/tofu for 2 of us and shared. Rice is not included in the order. It was delicious. I prefer the broccoli to be more cooked in the Pad raumit, it was half cooked so it was still crunchy but that's just my preference. The tofu was good, I am not vegetarian but I like vegetables and it had lots of different varieties in this stir fry, went really well with tofu. Long rice was well cooked and flavored. My partner liked spicy so he added the chili oil from the jar on the table and be said it was great! Service was quick and nice, no strange vibes from staff. Lots of vegetable dishes here. read more

My my my...I am smiling as I write this review because my food came out in just 5 minutes. I'm not talking one dish, I'm talking all 4 orders lol. These folks stand on business. The service is fast but that doesn't mean the food is bad either. The vibe there was very casual. The tables are all pretty close together so it can feel crowded. Logistics: Parking - Free. Right in front of restaurant. Prices - CHEAPER than most places we've been to that serve similar options. Portions - Generous, you won't leave hungry at all. Worth it? Yeah I would come back. Pad Thai in the Salt Lake Shopping Center is good for what it is: a local, mom-and-pop residential neighborhood restaurant. The food is not phenomenal, but it satisfies the Thai cravings. Their service is fast, no-frills. They come to pick up your order, and in just 10 minutes, they're back with your piping-hot dishes. I've tried their Thai Fried Chicken, Green and Red Curry, and Pad Thai so far. Stuffed Fried Chicken: probably the best thing I've had there, but the stuffing could use more flavor like lime leaf. Green and Red Curry: pretty good, but it's a bit more coconut milk-forward for me; I prefer there to be more curry flavor. There was a good amount of veggies in the curry, which I appreciated. Pad Thai: this was missing the quintessential smoky flavor from the wok and everytime I've had it so far, it's been on the "wetter" side. Despite the 3-stars, I do find myself coming back. Not because it's good, but because it's convenient. read more

First off, this is my go-to Thai restaurant now, and honestly my go-to restaurant in general since it is super close to home. I have missed my grandma's cooking so much, and this really fills that gap. The aunties here are very inviting and sweet. They are attentive, go above and beyond, and even recommended dishes to my friend who doesn't like spice or coconut, which was so thoughtful. I absolutely love my two dishes. I have been craving mango coconut sticky rice for months and I devoured it here. At only $7.99, it is such a good deal. Most places skimp on the coconut sauce, but not here, and the mango was perfectly ripe. The only thing I would change is cutting the mango slices a bit thinner, but that is just my personal preference. The tofu sateh was absolutely divine and I was so glad they had it. The tofu is flavorful, perfectly crisp, and not overly oily. My favorite part, though, is the sauce. Dipping the cucumbers in it is amazing. Something about the way the cucumbers are cut combined with the flavor of the sauce makes it so addicting. I would honestly order a whole side of cucumbers just to dip in the peanut sauce. The tofu itself does not seem heavily seasoned outside of the sauce, but I actually enjoy it that way. For those who are not big tofu eaters, just keep that in mind. I also got the Thai tea, which was super refreshing. It did not taste like it came out of a box, which I hate when restaurants do. Here it tasted fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side but still fits plenty of people. I went a little after 6 and it wasn't busy inside, so it was quiet and comfortable. There were lots of takeout orders, which shows how popular they are. I absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be going back, even if it is just for the mango sticky rice. read more

Ordered the classic Pad Thai and fresh summer rolls for a quick lunch craving, and this spot delivered authentic Thai balance without the tourist traps. The Pad Thai shone with wok-charred rice noodles that absorbed every bit of the tamarind-fish sauce glory--tangy sour up front, subtle palm sugar sweetness, and umami depth that wasn't drowned in sweetness like some watered-down versions. Loaded with crunchy bean sprouts, scrambled egg bits, tender shrimp or chicken, and those little preserved radish pops for complexity, plus a generous peanut crunch on top. Not saucy or heavy; it left that satisfied, fresh-afterglow feeling with a lime squeeze elevating the whole thing. Summer rolls were a crisp, refreshing counterpoint--rice paper wrappers hugging julienned cukes, carrots, vermicelli, lettuce, and herbs without sogginess or excess dipping sauce needed. Light shrimp inside peeked through beautifully, adding sweet brininess that paired perfectly pre-Pad Thai. No heavy frying; just clean, vibrant textures that screamed freshness read more

Pad Thai - Pad tai - Thai Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Pad Thai is conveniently located in the Salt Lake Shopping Center, very close to my house. I don't generally like Thai food, but I love pad thai and spring rolls - and both dishes here are winners. In the past, I've been able to customize my order, though I went with the regular pad thai this last time. I called in my order and let them know I'd be there in about half an hour so they didn't need to rush. I was running late and had timed my pickup to account for the traffic I'd have to drive through that day. When I arrived, they hadn't made my food yet. They didn't even remember my order until they found my order slip with the pickup time on it. I was pretty irritated at that point since I had called ahead specifically to avoid this situation and was already running late. When I asked to pay, the lady behind the counter seemed caught off guard, but I needed to pay right then - waiting until after the food was ready would have made me even later. The food did come out pretty fast after that. What really bothered me was finding out that the owner was the lady who took my order, and she wasn't apologetic at all about my order not being ready. Kind of disappointing service, especially coming from the owner. Bottom line: 5 stars for the food, 3 stars for the service. If the food wasn't so good, I definitely wouldn't go back. But it is, so I probably will - just with lowered expectations for the service. read more

We visited Pad Thai as our last stop and it was a great way to end our visit. Our parents are notoriously picky eaters, so we were happy that they enjoyed Pad Thai. We had got the pad thai (of course), pad see ew, fried noodle, and mango sticky rice. All the items were great! The pad see ew took me a little off guard, since most pad see ew have hints of sweetness. The service were great - they were very kind. We came as a large party, so they were super accomendating with the space and menu. Would highly reccomend! read more

Food was bland, not a lot of meat of veggies in the curry. Calamari was way over cooked. We had to go, ordered 2 tapioca pudding g and they didn't have enough so they just gave us the mango sticky rice. Nothing much to say about this place but will not be back. Sorry. read more

Oof. This place has gone downhill. First visit months ago we ordered some curries and it was decent but this last time was terrible. Ordered spicy papaya salad- not a single chili and tasted little bottled lime juice in the dressing. Eggplant basil is not Thai eggplant but thinly sliced purple eggplants that were not cooked well. Sauce was a total miss too. Curry was most edible of it all but after looking forward to Thai for dinner this meal left us so disappointed and we will never be back read more

We were craving thai food. First time here. Our waitress kept our water cups filled. We really liked the spring rolls, fried chicken and panang curry, but did not care for their pho and pad thai. This was our last meal in Oahu before we headed to the airport to return home. We wanted something easy and familiar to eat for the older parents and this hit the spot before we departed. Their menu was pretty extensive, but we got the basics. We got: - Pad Thai - Pad See Ew - Fried Long Rice (basically pan fried rice noodles) - Mango Sticky Rice - Tapioca Pudding Everything was good but the mango sticky rice was an exceptional treat at the end. The mangoes were sweet and paired with the coconut milk, it had us craving for more. Workers were extremely nice and accommodating! Shop at the Saltlake shopping center very often. Keep seeing this restaurant but never bother to go in. Was in the mood for thai and was in the area. Service was fast at the beginning because it was early for lunch. But as soon as lunch came around, it got busy. It was a wait time, but it was normal for what looked like 2 in the kitchen, 2 in front of the house, and one helping both sides. Ordered the yellow curry with thai sticky rice. It was about $13.00. It was just me, so I went for it. You better come hungry because the bowl was large. They changed 50 cents for take-home containers, so I was determined to finish my dish. The curry had a nice color to it with coconut milk and a nice ratio of meat, vegetables, and curry to make the dishes serving portions even with the rice. But, as much as I tried. I could not finish it. If you never had thai sticky rice. You got to try it at least once. It's chew and sweet. It's a nice combination with the thai curry. Pros: The yellow curry is really good. Flavors blend very well and balanced with sticky rice. Just enough meat, vegetables, and curry, and it was a lot, so come hungry. Cons: Place is small, so go early. When it gets busy, expect slow service. But they try their best with what workers they have. So please be patient. Would I go back? Yes, and I plan to. read more

My cousin arranged a dinner meet up with her family and made a reservation here. There were five adults and two children, so if you have a big party, definitely call. They were getting busy as the evening continued not only with inside dining, but take out as well. The staff is courteous and nice, and I think it's a family owned restaurant, which is great. We started with fresh summer rolls which were soooo good! And then the dishes just kept coming out. There was a papaya salad, and a delicious chicken with green beans which had some heat! I liked the pad see ew with chicken and the green curry was very good. I didn't care for the sticky rice because it was a little hard to scoop out of the cute little baskets. There was also several orders of fried fish, which was a hit with the kids. It was a very pleasant evening, and I love places that don't care if you order something to drink besides water or not. It's pretty common on the island which is nice. Definitely worth checking out. Mahalo Pad Thai! read more

The papaya salad and minced beef lettuce wraps (larb) are good. The spice level on the "medium" is spicier than most. This was a plus for me, but if you don't like spicy, you might want to stick with mild.
