Wow, great hole in the wall restaurant serving delicious Thai. Short 20min drive away from kolina, we were trying to find a place for dinner for 10 on a Sunday evening and this hidden gem popped up on yelp. We made a call in order to go and got Pad Thai, Panang curry, and a side of rice since the curry doesn't come with rice. The host was very kind and accommodating and provided everything we needed in the to-go order. There were a few tables and the interior has nice seating. The food was solid - I appreciated how well seasoned the Pad Thai was - usually I look for color first and it had the correct dark brown molasses color and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Always our go-to spot for Thai food! This time we decided to try something new and ordered the Ono Thai Chicken Basil, requested non-spicy. Of course, the Thai Fried Chicken is a must every time we order--it never disappoints. The Pad Thai was flavorful, though the beef was a bit tough, so next time I'll go with a different protein. I'd also been craving mango sticky rice and was pleasantly surprised they had it, even though it's not listed on the menu (just pictured). Service is consistently great here. Not sure what happened but the quality of this place has gone down within the past year. I had shrimp tom yum a few weeks ago and there were only 4 pieces of shrimp. I ordered a papaya salad for dinner last night and when I got home and started eating it I noticed there was no heat because they didn't add chili peppers. The saddest part were the tomato slices they used. It's like they took all the rubbish parts and added it to my plate. The food here used to be great. I am back, back again! Visiting my dad and picking up my son to go home to SJ. I always have to make a stop here no matter what. My dad and step mom order their regulars, seafood green curry and chicken basil. Today my son wanted some pad Thai but my "go to" is their pad ki maow with pork. Love all that gravy and their quality of the food is amazing. So fresh and is authentic. Service is so nice upon entering the restaurant. We sat at a four seater closest to the wall. Two observations was we're not offered a spice level when same server took our order. There's also no indication of spice level or preference on the menu. Go all in! Ingredients in summer rolls a.k.a Poh Pia Sod tasted very fresh and wrapped tightly in rice paper. Peanut dipping sauce was served slightly cold. Prefer to have it served warm. Thai Fried Chicken "Gai Tod" was plentiful. Crunchy batter tasted yummy! One of chicken pieces attached to a bone was on the drier side. Needed Thai sweet chili sauce to balance the dryness. Another piece without the bone tasted moist. Stir fried ingredients of Beef Pad King complemented each other; however, taste of gravy reminded me of beef broccoli. Squeezed the lime over Chicken Pad Thai. Noodles appeared and tasted more on the wet side. Chicken and tofu complemented the moisture in this entree. Our fave was the Beef Pannang which delivered a medium spice level. We loved the delicious combination of coconut milk, curry, and peanuts. Generous servings of tender beef slices, long green beans, bell peppers, and onions. Curry soaked up nicely and integrated well with white rice. Same server checked on us a few times to see how our food tasted, ensured that carafe was refilled with water, we had enough napkins, and cleared our plates in a timely manner. A hole in the wall Thai restaurant tucked in Ewa beach. Has a very "homey" feel when you walk in. Came here to eat lunch with my cousin. It wasn't busy so we were seated right away. The dining space is actually huge compared to other Thai restaurants. They also had 2 tvs constantly playing in the background, very nice for entertaining customers that are waiting for their food. I noticed that there was a lot of to-go customers picking up their orders so that's a nice sign that this place is good. A few things we ordered on the menu: Curry noodles (5/5): Pad Thai style noodles with a rich creamy curry sauce! My first time ever trying this dish and it was sooo flavorful and good. I def recommend this dish! I don't see it too often on the menu at the other locations. Tom Kha (3/5): It was more on the tarty sour soup. It was flooded with lots of veggies which I like. But wish it had more coconut milk and was more creamy. Papaya salad Laos style medium (4/5): You can never go wrong with papaya salad. Definitely a Thai/Lao staple and one of my favorite dishes! I love how it came with crunchy lettuce & cabbage. I wish it had a bit more spice to it, as I like my food spicy. But overall, it was good! Something changed. The papaya salad was shredded thinner and tasted bland with lime. The basil beef which is my go to was flat as well. The spring rolls were thinner and not fried well. The curry was just ok. The padthai noodles were descent. The fried chicken was the only thing that tasted normal. Whoever cooked on last Saturday may need to get some pointers from the regular chef. Craving for pad Thai and we were in the area and went to check this place out. They're popular with regulars, party table and take outs. We had the fish patties for starters which was nice. The pad Thai was good but the noodles were not fully soft and the portion was good for one person. If it was more I think it would have been a better. We left still hungry. What a great place to add to our safe places to eat. Food was awesome! Not overly spicy- we had two plates pad thai, one fried chicken plate and the panang curry with two rice sides for the curry of course. There were four of us so we shared all plates. The pad Thai was Ono! It wasn't exactly dry like most I've had but was a little more wet and flavorful. The chicken was a crispy golden brown but very moist inside and cut to morsel readable sizes with meat scissors - made a mental note to just order chicken for takeaway next time I just wanted a chicken dinner. The last was the panang curry. It was very creamy and full of happy thoughts - we ordered two rice sides especially for the curry. Now I normally don't like Thai food because of the lemon grass that some restaurants make it the premier spice of all their dishes but here, it was subtle and just a kind reminder that it was in the food. Excellent! $68 - not bad, of course we couldn't finish it and we are poly-people! We had half the curry left, a third of the chicken and a little pad thai that we would save for bruddahs work lunch. Cheehoo! The little restaurant still had a bathroom - it was half full but not noisy and our waitress was awesome. My first time eating at Ono Thai after hearing so many good things about it! My cousin is a regular and does takeout weekly. This place doesn't disappoint. The flavors definitely do pop in each dish we've eaten! Food is delicious! We got calamari, thai fried chicken, spring rolls, yellow curry with chicken, pad ki maow and sticky rice. My favorite was the pad ki maow! it's pretty spicy and had flavors that I don't think i've had in any food i've eaten before. Yellow curry with chicken was not bad, it tastes better when you mix it with your sticky rice. Service was good, often got checked up on. The ambiance is not bad. It was slightly dark in the back of the restaurant. Maybe that's the vibe they go for. It's also super quiet in there, i've noticed I caught myself whispering when talking. There is a Respectable and Handsome guy running the front of the restaurant. Hahaha. The service here is always friendly, I always and only order here for Thai food. My favorite dish is their green curry chicken. I always request for extra basil and bamboo. The Green curry flavor with the coconut so creamy and ono every time. I don't like spicy but their "no spice" has just the tiniest amount of kick so I can enjoy Thai curry. Another dish I highly recommend is the fried chicken. Their Thai friend chicken is definitely different from any other. It's always perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Spontaneously went on a Saturday around 2PM and it was completely empty. With the waterfall ambiance from the TV being the only noise, it felt almost eerie and like we were disturbing the peace by even speaking to each other. We started off with the ono app combo (2 spring rolls, 2 fish patties, and 2 chicken satay sticks), which was a perfect sampler for two people and came with sauces for each of the apps. We also always order green curry with sticky rice and shrimp pad thai whenever we go to a Thai restaurant and luckily the green curry was amazing. It honestly carried the whole meal. Perfect consistency and amounts of vegetables and tofu. The pad thai almost tasted BBQ-y and had maybe 5 pieces of shrimp. I also wish there were additional spices or hot sauces offered to kick up the heat a bit more. Overall, not bad but not life-changing. read more

Coming from the mainland, I had a hard time looking for a Thai food spot that's both delicious and affordable but this place definitely checks those two boxes off! I'd say this place has the BEST Thai food on the island thus far! Such a little cute hole in a wall gem in Ewa! We came on a Saturday night and they were hella busy. We took the last table available before they started having a wait (we got lucky!). The restaurant only have a handful of tables and only had two servers who's running everything including their pick up/to go orders. And I think they did such a great job while being under a lot of stress. They were also very nice and friendly! We got 4 orders to share between three people (two adults and one toddler) and their serving size for everything we ordered was more than enough unlike other places we've been to. We didn't realize that we ordered so much until everything came so we ended up having so much leftovers that we took home lol. If there's one dish that I'd truly recommend, it's their Thai fried chicken! Omg, it was amazing! A definite must try! It's so worth the $13 with how it tasted and how much they give you! I mean, everything else we got was also a hit! We got pad see ew, beef panang curry, & beef massaman curry. Not a lot of Thai restaurants in the island offers massaman curry so we had to try and it didn't disappoint! Just a heads up, rice doesn't come with any of the entrees tho so you have to order it separately and it's $3 for one serving. Overall, this place is a hit! First things first, if you plan to order take out, call ahead and place your orders early or expect to wait. Don't wait till you're starving to call. I've only been to Ono Thai once so this is just based on what I saw while dining in that one time. But the door just kept opening and closing the whole time we were there. We heard the server telling people on the phone wait times were up to an hour and this is at around 5:45-7pm on a Sunday night. However do give Ono Thai a try if you're in the area! It is so good! We got the pad ki maow, Thai fried chicken, and garlic stir fry. Portion sizes were pretty generous and the food was so good! Definitely one of the best Thai food (and well priced too) on the island. I have to bring a group with me next time though so I can try more of the menu! The pad ki maow was sautéed nicely, with good flavor without being too salty. Spice level was perfect as well. The fried chicken was amazing! It comes with a sweet chili sauce for dipping and it was SO crispy and crunchy! Definitely a winner! I do wish it was seasoned a little more but not bad as you do have the chili sauce. The garlic stir fry was surprisingly good. It's the garlic sauce. We also got a Thai iced coffee to go and let me say that is definitely the best Thai iced coffee I've had on island. read more

It's hard finding good Thai food but Ono Thai hits the mark. The food is fresh and tasty. I also like the pad ka pow (chili basil). It's located pretty deep in Ewa Beach - almost across Campbell High School. The pad thai is really good as is the red curry with fish. There's so much more on the menu to try. Thanks to the other Yelpers, I found this hidden gem in Ewa. Hard to find this hole in the wall in the hidden strip mall behind 7-eleven. I am continuing my quest for my new interest in Thai food. Got the Green Curry and the Fried Chicken and they didn't disappoint. The Green Curry with eggplant and bamboo shoots was very tasty. The Fried Chicken was pretty good and it was a huge portion. Best to order in advance to save time. I opted to take out but inside the restaurant looks nice & clean. This place lives up to its name "Ono" Thai. read more
