Zippy's is my go-to restaurant when I want a good, quick meal with lots of choices at a reasonable price. I have been going to the Ewa Zippy's since they first opened, and have never been disappointed. I seldom eat breakfast out, but decided to last Sunday, and had my all-time favorite, the Loco Moco. It was as wonderful as always. One thing that I really like about Zippy's is that they give you choices, and I always choose to have brown rice. There are still restaurants here that offer only white rice, which I try to avoid. The service was quick and efficient, and they keep that hot coffee coming-essential in the morning! I just love this place, and I always see my friends and neighbors there too. A local favorite, for sure. read more

I love Zippys, been coming since I was a little girl, but this visit only gets 3 stars. Placed a to go order, it was ready when arrived. Bonus at this location, there is a DRIVE-UP window to get your order (must call-in order). Friendly service, my gripe is with the wonton min. Being away for the past 4 years, coming to Zippy's is a nostalgic feeling of back in the days of late nite - after the club - family time meals - take out bentos for school field trips - and delicious baked yummies! I took all of it for granted and missed it living in Nevada. What I ate today was the mushroom omlete, my fave, I haven't found any other place that sauté the mushrooms with garlic first!! We just moved down the road so I was excited to find out this Zippy's has a drive thru. Unfortunately it was a total fail. I ended up waiting over 40 minutes in the drive thru! It literally took every car about 10 minutes to get their order. I considered leaving the line and trying to park, but the parking lot was also crazy. And this was on a Thursday night at around 7:30pm. By the time I got to the window, it had been over an hour since I placed my phone order. I got it right away, but everything was COLD and our fries were stale. Bummed out, but at least the Zippy's in Waipahu isn't too far away. That one isn't nearly as busy. read more

I am a retired professional and there has been many a time that I choose this Zippys as either a pre work or after work restraurant. Have basically been ordering the same item. It was done poste haste with no problem. Tonight was the exception. Upon ordering we were told (with a good amount of smug thrown in) that Zippys has never served it the way we ordered! After over I don't know how many years if ordering this entree and being told as if it was our first visit, I mean who in the hell does this person think they were talking too? Waitress with bad attitude. We went there for dinner tonight and ended up walking out. My husband ordered a hamburger steak complete meal and my grandson ordered a bowl of chili no beans. The waiter who took our order was a trainee. He he spilled our drinks all over the table then said he'd come back with napkins, he never did, I wiped the table with 2 napkins. He returned with salad dressing and that's all. After 10 minutes we asked where the salad, he mumbled something then returned with the salad and a tiny cup of chili. Then bad attitude waitress came with the hamburger steak. My husband told her he wanted the salad before the meal so that the hamburger steak doesn't get cold. She told him well that's the way we do things here and left. That was the last straw we got up to leave but not before talking to the manager and pointing out bad attitude waitress - she's the older woman with light hair and sort of tall. The manager tried offered us a 50% discount on our meal. We turned her down because it's not about the money. It's the service- it sucks. This was not the first time the same waitress has given us bad service with a bad attitude. As long as that waitress is there we will not be patronizing the Ewa Beach Zippy's. We are now heading to the Waipahu Zippy's, they usually have better service without the bad attitude. read more

Placed a phone order at around 9:15 and was told it would take 10-15 min to complete so we went down and the wait was on 15 min turned into 30 min not a good look and we will not return... Ordered online because the phone lines are really busy, order said it'd be ready at 10:00 and we didn't get it till 10:40, and all we had was a breakfast bento and French toast. No one explained why our order wasn't ready when we first got there, they just told us to wait in a stall, then after 20 minutes of waiting past our pick up time we called to see if it's ready yet and they kept us on hold till someone brought out our food. Prior to ordering online, I called to see if this location accepted Apple pay. Was told they do; pulled into the drive through & that person said they did but I needed to come inside. Once inside, yet another worker said they did not accept. By the end of trying to explain my situation, 4 workers were simply looking at me in silence. Its Zippy's. My go-to place before and after flights. I love it that I can take the Zip Pac on the plane with me to my destination.

This location isn't too bad. The times I've been there, I've had pretty good service, the food was decent, a pretty average experience. Our waitress was really friendly. The restaurant was pretty clean, the food came out quickly and definitely satisfied my hunger. I gave it 3 stars because it was up to par, but just pretty average overall, but not a bad location. read more

Love Zippy's food but seriously..... The service for the dining room SUCKS!!!! Friday night.. 7:45pm there are approx 12-15 empty tables and we're told the wait is 30-45 mins!!!!! WTH. Either management needs to hire more staff or figure out how the whole restaurant thing works!!! Can't tell you how many people walked out....loose money!!! We almost always stop at Zippys to pick up lunch or dinner before going to our families house. There have only been a couple times were we waited for over half an hour even when we called 10-15 minutes in advance. Other than that, no complaints. Zippy's Ewa is just like any other zippy's you go to. The food is decent nothing special. It's the type of food you'll get when there's nothing to eat or cook at home so you decide to eat or take out. I phone ordered a reg Korean chicken and a chicken katsu. Got home, opened the containers and was quite shocked-the portions of meat, for both plates, were down to almost half what they usually give. For the katsu, i could see the shredded cabbage on the bottom; there was that much space between the slices. And the Korean chicken, just barely enough pieces to fill box. The norm is there's almost two layers of meat, that's how Zippys serves it. But not this order. I should've taken pics but we were too hungry. What is going on?! Is this a policy change? Has anyone else experienced this? The generous portions is one of the hallmarks of this establishment. I am in disbelief! If this is how it's gonna be, there will be civil unrest! I love the food @ Zippy's. Reminds me of Denny's or IHOP from back home and when I say back home, I mean from Vancouver, BC, Canada but the difference, definitely ONO flavor. The only thing that I would have to say is when I tried to order on the phone one night, no one ever picked up after 10X of trying. But because they are open 24hrs/7days a week, you know their open. My ultimate favorite is Chicken Katsu. I have yet to try a place on the island that is just as good as Zippy's. Another great thing at Zippy's is they have Napoleon's Bakery within the building. IF I COULD RATE THE DINE-IN SIDE WITH 1/2 A STAR OR EVEN 0 STARS, I WOULD! My coworkers and I went to eat dinner here around 8:30PM last night (April 11,2018). We chose to eat on the dine-in side and signed in just as normal protocol suggests. Twice, my name was crossed out and the customer service overall was just pitiful. I was understanding the first time my name got crossed out in a sense that maybe I just didn't hear my party being called but to have it crossed out a second time, where the woman at the front then went on to give us attitude about signing in, I had enough and we chose to eat on the take out side. She was fully aware that my party was there but twice my name was crossed out. We signed in before many parties and we assumed they were seating smaller parties before us, but 4 parties went in before us which at first we didn't mind, but then to walk up to the counter and see our party's name deliberately crossed out TWICE, my party and I left. The waitress' name was Dottie and the service we received from her and the overall dine-in side was awful. We've had previous run ins with her, and each time it was horrible. read more

Calls to order are directed to a call center where unfortunately due to change in system they are unable to place bakery orders. Zippys advertises fresh to order malasadas which are delicious. But how can you place the order if it can't be made by call center and for literally 45 minutes NO ONE answered the phone when transferred to both bakery and front end cashier. I called 7 times even asking to speak to a supervisor without any response. I did speak to a supervisor at the call center where she tried to contact someone at the EWA location with no success. Finally I was able to speak with someone when I was literally right outside the door. Upon arriving I was also gonna a order a Reese's doughnut to have while I waited but changed my mind when I saw the FLY happily buzzing around in the closed doughnut case. I assumed it would be busy which is why no one answered but it wasn't at all!! Not 1 customer in the bakery, when I asked the bakery clerk why no one answers the phone her response was it goes to a call center????? I believe it was a manager who came out and asked if I needed something, I said I was waiting for my malasada order and that there was a fly in the case. It didn't even phase him. I'm pretty sure it was the supervisor I had spoke to right before I arrived. I'm in the food and beverage industry and believe in supporting this local franchise and hope that their employees would hold their service to a higher standard!! Malasadas still ono but much reflection needed on staff and accommodation of what is necessary when changes are made to a system and you are unable to take bakery orders by call center. Called in an order on our way home from our sons baseball game and were told it would take 20-25 minutes. Planned to pick up from the drive through because we were all tired and saw the drive through line was long. Decided to still wait and our order should for sure be ready by the time we get to the window. 30 minutes later still waiting in the drive through line with about 4 more cars ahead of us. Son decided to go inside because maybe it would be faster to get our order that we thought would've been waiting for us. Nope! Order wasn't ready. After a little over an hour our order is FINALLY ready. Ordered a Mini Chili Spaghetti and a Chili Moco. 2 plates and it took over an hour. Terrible! read more

Don't get me wrong, Zippys has great food and I love to eat there but the service at this place has been slipping hard. I wrote a similar review for the Hawaii Kai Zippys and it's basically the same in Ewa. We get seated and wait 20 minutes with no one addressing us, waitresses walked past us and not even a glance. When I asked a server she responded with "that's not my section." basically a big "F" you that's not my problem. I was shocked and quite frankly very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and courtesy. It's a shame because I do enjoy the food. read more

it's august, so be sure to try their miso garlic chicken before the end of the month. for under $7, it's a steal; especially in the restaurant side. it comes with 2 scoops of rice and the day's hot vegetable or mac salad. delicious! for all the seafood lovers, try the fresh catch of the day (salmon, ahi, or mahi) with garlic vegetables over the top and miso sauce on the side for extra dipping. you definitely can't beat the taste! for dessert, go for the banana cream pie. cold, creamy, not overly sweet. good way to end your dinner. :) read more

This review is for the drive thru. While I appreciate the fact that there is a zippys drive thru on this side of the island, I don't like the fact that when I opt to use this service, my order is never ready by the promised time, even after waiting in line. But I must say the food is always on point so I guess it makes up for the service, sometimes I ask myself why I don't just do a walk-in & maybe it's cause I'm lazy to get out of my car. Probably one of the only Zippy's locations in the Ewa Beach side. The somewhat convenient thing about this location is that it is right next to the new Hele gas station closer to the beginning of Ft. Weaver Rd. as you are going down Ewa Beach. I would say that is it is a fairly decent sized Zippy's. Like all Zippy's, they have an take out / dining side and a restaurant side. It gets pretty busy during weekend nights so you know that parking could get a little tight. They have a decent amount of parking surrounding the restaurant. The staff and customer service is pretty good. Food wise I don't really know what to say, the menu is like all other Zippy's, they have their daily special menus, etc. If you are reading this, you should already know what Zippy's food is like so I am just going to skip over to my favorites like the wun ton min, chicken katsu, oxtail soup, and many more. So if you live in Ewa Beach, when in doubt next stop Zippy's. read more

zippy is my comfort food place where i can go eat knowing that i be okay with. i order the party plate, when i got there in 20 min it was already ready. something i can def depend on on last min.
