My husband's co-worker who is an avid golfer raved about their burgers here. So we decided to try it out on Good Friday and did not disappoint. The customer service is outstanding and the food portions were very generous. My husband, son, and I ordered the burgers, which was delicious and my daughter ordered the garlic shrimp. This is a local family and veteran owned establishment and we love supporting local family businesses and vets. The owner Billy took time to chat with us and is so down to earth. If you haven't tried Da Kane's before, put it on your next stop! The hamburger steak easily moved to one of our favorites on the island. The char on the burger patties, grilled onions and green onions just make it a winner for us! The chicken katsu was very moist and tender with the breading light and crispy. It's not your run of the mill plate lunch chicken katsu. You can enjoy your meal with plenty of seating and a view of the golf course. It's quiet and peaceful and can accommodate a large group of people. It is outdoor/lanai seating but they have fans on the table to mitigate any flies that will want to have lunch with you. Service was excellent and I hope they keep building their customer base so we can enjoy their food for years to come. read more

Beautiful view and fresh food! I decided to try the cheeseburger with fries and a cinnamon toast latte, and my husband decided to get the smoked meat plate. The cinnamon toast latte came with whipped cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on top of the drink. The cheeseburger had a homemade look and taste to it, and the texture of the patty was soft. I really appreciate the fact that they ask if you want raw onion or grilled onions. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. My husband said the smoked meat had a sweet pineapple flavor to it, and the meat itself was nice and soft. Overall, the food was okay, but the service and ambiance were amazing. One of the employees walked around checking on people and asked if everything was okay. He also offered to move the table fans around to keep the flies away while people were eating. read more

We've been running past their signs along Weaver Road for awhile now. We finally stopped in to check it out. It's located outside the golf course. I'm guessing it used to be the pro shop at one time. They have simple little tables with chairs overlooking the golf course. It definitely has the Kama'aina feeling. We just ordered our lattes. They had a wide variety of flavors. There wasn't an up charge for alternative milks. The service was quick and efficient. Definitely had a relaxing "locals" feel. Definitely will be back. I decided to make my way to Da Kane's Kitchen after seeing it featured on a YouTube segment. It was a very good decision. I thoroughly enjoyed a chicken katsu/smoked meat mixed plate. The serving was very generous, the smoked meat soft and tasty, the chicken katsu crispy and juicy along with mac salad and rice. The chicken katsu in particular was excellent, very likely one of the best I've had. This was a delicious meal and the servings so large I had to take a break before being able finish my plate. This restaurant is definitely a well kept secret. They offer an extensive menu, a clean seating area with a nice view of the golf course and very courteous customer service. I will definitely make Da Kane's Kitchen a regular stop ... can't wait for my next visit. read more

Service was great, food was less than mediocre. I got small fried noodles and the loaded fries (small). I saw on Yelp someone got loaded fries and they said it was like In & Out. The sauce was giving in and out, but they legit put RAW onions on my fries. Not grilled. Didnt mind too much because I like onions. The noodles were SO HARD. It was like eating shoelaces. We ordered the mini chicken katsu and mini hamburger steak plates, and they were both very good. The portions were good for the price. The chicken katsu was tasty and not dry, and the hamburger steak was well seasoned with buttery gravy. The staff was polite and the wait wasn't long. On the last day of our vacation, my fiancé and I planned to stop by to pick up some drinks before heading to the airport. Instead, Da Kane's food helped us realize the experience we dreamt of the entire trip. Although the below post is long, I wanted to share our experience in full. For the last few days prior to dining here, my partner and I had eaten at some excellent restaurants in Waikiki. Although the food in the city was excellent, I felt it followed similar food trends to LA, where we traveled from. Tender cuts of beef, imported oysters from the Pacific Northwest, and lots of colorful blended drinks were ubiquitous amongst the high-rise restaurants. As a first time traveler to Oahu, I honestly believed that this was the tourist's experience I should expect throughout this island. Recommended by a friend, we ended up at Da Kane's Kitchen to pick up some much needed caffeine. We also ordered the Smoked Meat, Kalbi Ribs, and Maui Burger since we were excited to see uncommon foods on the menu. I felt a glimmer of hope that this restaurant was going to deliver something beyond L&L Hawaiian available at home. As the food arrived in unassuming takeout containers, I prepared for the conventions of Hawaiian cuisine: rice, macaroni salad, and "insert protein here". What we instead received was truly a Hawaiian family welcome. The Food: - The Smoked Meat was masterfully prepared. Cooked low & slow long enough to garner the sought-after smoke ring, but not so long as to dry out a seemingly low-fat cut. Finished in a lightly-sweetened glaze, the contrast against the bold smokiness set the standard for the rest of our meal. - Kalbi Ribs were tender enough to separate cleanly from the bone. From countless experiences eating Kalbi Ribs at K-BBQ joints, Da Kane's ribs felt texturally exceptional. The softened connective tissue is usually difficult to make palatable, but their's was delicately chewy and robust with flavor. Enjoyed with the tangy and bright macaroni salad, Da Kane's kalbi was an excellent re-introduction to a cut I thought I understood well. This dish I highly recommend. - The Maui Burger was an excellent personalization of a Hawaiian burger. Complete with fresh, sweet pineapple and lightly spicy bbq sauce, the burger delivered the full package you hope for. Recently, fast food burger restaurants have been cutting back on portion size and ingredient quality to improve margins given the difficult economy. This was not the case for Da Kane's Kitchen. Holding their Maui burger, I was reminded of the grand American portion sizes that challenge our collective longevity. What indulgence! - Mac Nut Latte & Cinnamon Toast Latte were an outstanding finishing touch. My partner appreciated the careful presentation aesthetic for her travel album! Our friendly and catering barista asked us for our preference for sweetness & plant-milk, so we requested Uncle's recommendation. We enjoyed the Mac Nut Latte with Macadamia milk & the Cinnamon Toast Latte with Oat milk. To me, the Cinnamon Toast Latte stood leagues apart from your everyday Star**cks. Balanced sweetness from the drink and cereal pieces well-complemented the slight bitterness from the locally-roasted beans. More than a fresh and cool drink, this was what I wanted to enjoy on a warm summer afternoon at the golf course. I hope the last few paragraphs have expressed my new found appreciation for Da Kane's creative Hawaiian cuisine. I wrongly believed that Oahu was dominated by modern tourism, offering exclusive trendy food items in popular spaces. However, when my fiancé and I took the road less traveled for a fresh experience, we found solidarity in a family restaurant seeking to cherish & elevate their traditions through their cuisine. I got the loaded açaí bowl with Nutella.(they hooked up the granola) My kids got a club sandwich (huuuuge enough to share) and tuna sandwich my daughter actually liked .the bread was soft and sweet with crunchy Romaine in it was a pretty good tuna sandwich! They said they didn't have turkey so we got ham in the club instead and they felt bad so they hooked my son up with free fries. My other half got the classic burger and it was actually juicy and sauce had flavor. Overall I liked it . The menu is big so we have to come back to sample the plate lunches. Dining area is outdoors with a nice open-air balcony view of the course. I had a regular teriyaki chicken plate with a non-dairy lychee smoothie. The teri sauce is a recipe passed for three generations. It is a balance of savory and sweet. It goes really well when mixed with the rice too. Attention all golfers!!! West Loch Ewa golf course just opened up a great eatery. I loved their spam musubi's. And they have plenty of sandwiches and drinks. You don't have to bring food or warm drinks of your own. They have it all there to include tables and a big screen tv. They are a family run operation. It deserves our support. The prices are very very reasonable. Opens up early early and closes at 6 pm. And on weekends they will also be selling food and beverages between the 9th and 10th hole. Been meaning to review this place for a while but kept putting it off. Da Kane's Kitchen in Ewa Beach is located in the West Loch golf clubhouse. It's easy to find, and you can park in the same lot as the golfers. I've only been there early in the morning (6:30 am) so there's lots of parking, but not sure how it is later in the day. I always get breakfast because it is good, inexpensive, AND you can order ahead online, even the night before! I usually get the breakfast special with two scoops of rice, two eggs and three meats: portuguese sausage, spam and bacon. All for just over $13! Cannot get that for less anywhere else! I've also had the acai bowl for a little over $15, which is the average price at other places, but they pack it with the traditional toppings! They also have other breakfast selections as well as lunch choices! I'll have to try their lunch plates one day! If you live in Ewa Beach or even west Waipahu, try this place! so, we ordered lunch for 5 people today, on my receipt it said 1 plate with 3 scoops of rice, the other order had 2 scoops of rice and mac salad. The problem....i had ordered fries instead of rice with the mac salad, the other plate was regular with mac salad. NO MAC SALAD and they charged me for an order of fries. If i knew I was going to get charged I would have never got the fries. food was okay, but not complete without mac salad. Owner did say we could come and pick up the mac salad, but who wants to leave the office AGAIN. very disappointed with communication and execution of our order. sorry to say, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. prices also were kind of expensive too, but now days what can you expect? everywhere is expensive. read more

Da Kane's Kitchen is an amazing find! Plenty of open-air seating with a nice view. The family who owns and runs the restaurant is so sweet, friendly and accommodating. The service is amazing and they truly care about the quality of food they are serving. Their açaí bowls are super yummy and a very generous size. Their coffee drinks are SO good and don't get watered down even when your ice begins to melt, so don't be afraid to get the bigger size! I brought home the chicken katsu for my husband and he RAVED about it. He said that it was the best chicken katsu he's ever had - their homemade sauces make all the difference! Very expensive for what it is. The burned the heck out of the burger bun on my moms burger to the point where you could see where they tried to scrape some of the black parts off. Service was struggling, felt bad for the girl working the counter because she couldn't figure out the POS and had to go get the guy cooking to ring it in. Ordered a milk tea and panic ensued because the people didn't know how to make it so it came out after the food. Katsu was very salty and the smoke meat was actually pretty good. The tables were dirty and at the end of my meal I just cleared it myself into the bus tub at their server station because no one came out and I'm shame to leave a messy pile of dishes and stuff out if there isn't staff to clean it. There is no ambiance, just plastic folding tables and chairs, no music or anything and about 20 kinds of hot sauce on a table in the dining area. Sad it's in the westloch neighborhood, was hoping to be able grab lunch sometimes when I'm out fishing. Will never go back. read more
