Ze's Diner is the perfect spot for classic breakfast diner food! I've eaten here twice and each time the service has been friendly, fast, and attentive. My coffee never was low. It's a cute little retro vibe and the prices are reasonable as well. We arrived around 9:30am on a Saturday and we were seated right away, but there were only a few tables left. We got the hot and spicy bowl and it was so good we dug into it before I could take a photo of it. It had so much flavor and a decent amount of heat. The little bits of diced peppers and onions added the perfect texture crunch to the dish. Hash browns are nice and crispy and the toast is thick and buttery. The ham was a little too sweet for my taste. The star is the rhubarb jam, perfect for putting on pancakes and French toast.

Ordered through toast at Eagan location. Chose crispy hashbrowns and received mushy undercooked hashbrowns. Our orders were definitely not worth the money charged. Also, here's a photo of the pineapple in the side of fruit!

How can you go wrong with all-day breakfast lunch and dinner?!?! Having some good friends come in from out of town and staying in Eagan I was on the search for a great breakfast spot that wasn't too busy around 8am, and Ze's was certainly on the menu. Having the best intentions of only having breakfast I asked our awesome waitress Michelle if I could order anything off the menu and she said yes, so it was game on. Making a completely sober decision, I ordered the fried pickles and cheese curds for a little bit of Midwest flare for my Southern friends to start, along with the Fiesta omelet for myself, substituting the tortilla and set up the bread to wrap up my cheesy, meaty breakfast item. Combining my DIY burrito with some of their house-made salsa and the Ze's sauce was a great decision! My friends ordered the taco omelet special and the regular breakfast with bread and their homemade strawberry rhubarb jam which was fantastic. Great service, delicious food brought out quickly, and an amazing price - not our first visit and certainly won't be the last!

You know a diner is going to be good when it is packed and it was packed! We went on a Sunday and they have a sign posted about only staying an hour due to how busy they get. There are people bussing tables very quickly so turn over is fast! We were sat down fairly quickly and our waiter got drinks right away! Our server was very nice and fast! The atmosphere is fun and filled with plenty of cool 50's diner items! My mom said it felt like being transported back in time :) The biscuits and gravy were delicious, peppery and creamy! The bacon is thin and not very crispy. Just depends on your bacon preference but I typically like a crispier bacon. I had read a lot of reviews about the apply fritter French toast. There was a weird after taste that I didn't care for... I'm not sure what happened. The club sandwich my mom got was classic and tasty! The fries were also very good!! Portions here are large and you could definitely share if you wanted to! Overall, it was a fun diner and Id be happy to come back!

This is an indication how good everything was!

The husband and I split the chicken fried steak breakfast and the apple fritter French toast breakfast. Everything came out piping hot and cooked perfectly. Delish! Our server was super friendly and had jokes!

Fun, nostalgic, and kitchy 50s dinner with incredible food. Everything was so well seasoned and delicious. The waitresses were friendly even when it was super busy.

Eggs, bacon, HB, toast. Apple Fritter French toast in the background. There is also a little Chicken Fried steak. Was too hungry to wait.

One of the best here in Eagan. I always support small business, and usually pretty biased towards them, but this was exceptional.

My dinner was especially good....the chicken fried perfectly...all dark meat the way I like it. The potato salad was not what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm used to a mayo based potato salad but this was even better with lots of flavor! The corn was also delicious. Everyone was very happy with their dinners. The chicken and waffle dish was also good. Ratio of breading to chicken was perfect and perfectly seasoned. The honey butter that came with it was also delicious. The New Orleans shrimp bowl was great too. The ratio of shrimp, which was perfectly cooked, to rice was good. Lots of great flavor. I think that everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. The only "ding" would be the service. We had to ask for silverware so we could eat and had to wait for straws because she forgot. I'm still going to give it 5 stars even though the service was lacking a bit. She was very nice but seemed rushed.

I ordered the Social salad. It was good but the presentation was trash. I also got a cup of the She - Crab soup. It was also just okay and certainly overpriced. Husband got the Pork Belly Burnt Ends at my suggestion. He asked if they had sauce added to them and if so, to get it on the side. Our server said they are prepared and the sauce caramelizes so no, no sauce. He asked due to being a type 1 diabetic and needed to calculate his insulin. Well, they came out covered in fresh sauce and were too dry to swallow. There were six chewed up bits of pork left on his plate when it was cleaned away. The Texas toast was the only redemption. Lastly the two others shared the half bird entree. Presentation was haphazard and the chicken was visually dry looking. They ate most of it and said the biscuit and sweet potatoes were good. The food alone wasn't bad enough to keep me away; but combining it with the service was. Our server Laura (sp?) didn't make her debut well after we've been sitting 10 minutes. We were there at 5:30 on Sunday. It wasn't busy at all. She was very nice. Her second stop was to take our orders. Food runner came and asked if we needed anything else. I asked for water as my glass was bone dry (I even ate my ice) and others' were 1/4-1/3 full. She said she couldn't bring beverages. It's water...not vodka. Weird. So Laura eventually comes back and filled our drinks and left the bill. She did overhear the birthday happenings and was nice enough to offer a free dessert. She got her cash payment and we never saw her again. Maybe it was the end of her shift? It just felt off. The table next to us had quite a few complaints and had a different server, so maybe there was just a bad vibe with the staff today? Hopefully management can figure it out. Bathrooms were nice and decor was nice throughout the restaurant.

I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken and it was incredible. It was crispy, oversized, extremely hot, I was crying after eating it. My girlfriend got the eggs Benedict, which she loved, and I stole some of. The real star of this restaurant is the donuts and spicy cheese curds though. I would literally travel back to Minneapolis just for those. I think I dream about them in my sleep. The vibe is great inside, it's retro, but not in a try-hard way. The bad: Bloody Mary's were flat and expensive $13 each. No depth of flavor, thought we would give them a second chance. . Ordered croquette madame. Egg was severely undercooked - the egg white was gelatatinous and the bread way too thick, ham fatty and subpar, where were you Béchamel? I took a bite of my breakfast and he hands me a box at the end when I asked for the check--not asking if anything is wrong. Two bites out of the spring mix salad and sandwich. Bloody Mary full. $70 for a salad, madame croquette, slow service which is no problem. It's a tiny diner and around lunch time. No worries there. But uncomfortable dining service because we could feel the tension between the server and bartender. Again for me? NBD but my daughter did not appreciate this. The good: the Mediterranean salad was delicious according to my daughter. She had the same thoughts about the Bloody Marys. Super cute beer backs- pony miller high life. I brought the croque madame home and my son loved it. Went on and on about how amazing it was. In all fairness my adult kids loved their food. He did microwave it to cook the egg through. Yes I know I am picky because I worked in the restaurant industry for over 22 years. And I can make better food at home. I just expect a bit more if I am going to drop $70 for two lunch entrees and two drinks. Not including the tip. Bottom line: I would not go back for this very expensive diner that doesn't know how to properly cook simple things. Or chop veg. Or make a drink.

I received an extremely greasy chili dog (the bottom of the bun was stained orange as if it was literally just sitting in grease, I had to tear the entire bottoms off. The chili was COMPLETELY flavorless with a non meat like chew, thats really as far as I can explain that one. It was like there, but tasted and disintegrated as if it wasn't. As well as, everything generally just came out as if it had been sitting around, it was cold and a bit stale. I also ordered a "THE FARMER" from their breakfast menu, and though this was better and a little fresher, the potatoes were still cold and mostly uneatable. So, inna nutshell I haven't tried everything, but this isn't the first time a meal I've had from there came out subpar. Price to quality food ratio id have to rate it like a 2-3, the hotdog was 8 dollars and "the farmer" was around 13-14. With that in mind, to have points where I am genuinely STRUGGLING through my meal is crazy. I would have to rate my overall experience between a 3 - 4 outta 10.
