A hidden gem. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was done well. My teenage daughter had the veggie omelet, hash browns, and toast. She's a pretty picky eater, but she devoured a decent portion of the large amount of food on her plate. I had the Club sandwich with fried and a chocolate malt. Absolute heaven! The atmosphere is 50s diner style, but we saw all ages. Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be visiting again and trying more of the menu! read more

We came to Ze's for the first time after we left the Mason Jar in Eagan due to poor service. And man- what a 180! We were so impressed the the friendliness of the host and the servers! Probably the best service we have had in a restaurant. My husband is pretty picky when it comes to service and he raved about how they take pride and care with the patrons. The cutest diner with great food that comes out quickly, hot, and done just right. Never before have I ordered eggs over medium and gotten exactly what I want. Pancakes are sweet and flavorful too. Came to Ze's for the first time this morning. Classic, 50's style decor, with the music to match. I have both good and not-so-good comments. First of all, when I arrived I was the only customer in the restaurant. There was a gentleman just leaving. The server, Michele stopped caring about providing good service a long time ago. She poured a cup of room temperature (if even) coffee, and left me with the menu for 12 minutes. When another customer finally arrived, it seemed to dawn on her I was still waiting to order. A few more customers arrived, obvious regulars, and it was apparent she treated them much better. She didn't stay attentive when the food finally arrived, and instead of working the room by refilling everyone's coffee automatically, she'd eventually come by (without the coffee pot) and ask, "Do you want more coffee?" Yikes! She obviously needs training on the basics of good service or should seek another profession. Now for the good: the cook was excellent. He paid more attention to the front of the house than the waitress did, and the breakfast was perfectly prepared! The only negative comment I could make about the breakfast was 1 piece of toast?! Seriously? This was the first time in my life an adult, 2 egg breakfast plate only came with one slice of toast. The owner needs to rethink that one. Gives the impression of - Cheap! Especially disappointing because the serve excellent homemade jam on the side. I would give Ze's another try because the food was great, but here's hoping Michele has either moved on or learns how to provide appropriate service. BTW: the next customer seated ordered coffee and his was cold, too. She acted surprised. My guess is they brewed it at 6:00 and it had been sitting in their carafe's for an hour and a half, losing the temperature. read more

This place is a solid 3.5 stars. Usually busy and for good reason, everything here is on point as far as value and quality. The only negative can be the service, which can be sub par if they're overwhelmed, and I've also noticed certain waiters are far superior to other members of the staff. That being said, in the immediate area it's either here or Perkins, so shop small and enjoy. read more

It is delicious, the service was relatively fast. The atmosphere was astonishing! It was a chill vibe that definitely starts conversation with the elders. Went here for lunch with a group from work. Overall - the food was very good. I had a burger. It was big and tasty. I don't recall the name - but it had bacon, BBQ sauce and an onion ring. On my previous visit - I had the big mouth burger. I really like burgers - and I loved these. Good reason to go back. A coworker had the walleye sandwich. And a few others had the patty melt or burgers. Everyone thought the food was outstanding. French fries are good. You don't get a big portion - but that is fine with me. Thanks to the owner - we also got to try the biscuit bites for dessert. They are kind of like mini-donuts. They were delicious. Service was good every time I've been there. My Wife & Son & I stopped for breakfast. The Diner's Family owned and operated and had a classic 50's feel with memorabilia on the walls and music to complete the vibe. It was clean and the service was impeccable. The food was great and the portion sizes were large. My wife had French toast and she loved the homemade maple syrup. I had a sausage and cheese omelet that came with hash browns and toast. It was very good and very filling. Horrible. Lured in by good reviews I decided to try their breakfast and I am disappointed. Probably one of the worst omelets I've ever had in my life. I always wondered how can you even screw up an omelet, but apparently it's possible. It was dry, not fluffy and had no flavor. Potatoes went straight to garbage since they were not edible. I guess all those people who wrote good reviews about this place are local suburban folks who never go to the cities and never had good food. If you are a Perkins type of a person you will like this place. Try Bon Vie cafe on Selby in St Paul or Shish on Grand if you want to know what a good breakfast tastes like. Typical diner (but located in a strip mall) with American classics on the menu and 50s decor on the walls. The food was good but nothing spectacular and the service was mediocre. Ehhhh.... food was kind of tasteless. I ordered the corn beef omelet. The omelet was rubbery and the contents were missing flavor. My husband stated his dish was just ok. I wish I would have looked at the bathroom before I ate because it was nasty and one step above a gas station. To me I always look at how clean the bathroom is. Found this great diner for breakfast today! It was just what a Sunday morning with friends called for! They ended breakfast with malts, which were amazing! I loved the hash browns and rhubarb jam! I had the Denver omelette, which was full of delicious veggies and Canadian bacon! Definitely heading back maybe for Monday's burger and shake deal or Friday's fish fry! I like this place a lot. It's a 1950s-style diner, with James Dean and Elvis Pressley and Marilyn Monroe photos and posters lining the walls. The booths have red seats and are cozy. It's fun -- sort of a flashback to a different era. The breakfast food is amazing. The pancakes are plentiful and the omelettes are fabulous. The bread that's served with certain breakfast meals could be better -- particularly the white bread -- but on the whole, the breakfast is tasty. For lunch, I've had the cheeseburger, BLT and the falaffel. Both are tasty. Bacon is crispy is yummy and there is enough of it. The fries are amazing -- but I also don't like McDonald's fries. These fries are flavorful but they're more like potatoes than crispy McDonald's fries. That said, my fries were fairly crispy. It's also a really good place to take children. The kids menu has both breakfast and lunch items. And all of these items are good. Malts are good, too. I'm a fan of this place. It's not amazing, but for the price and the quality, it's a very good restaurant. read more

Our entire table got something different, were all pleased with our order and all remarked how next time we would try something else because we had trouble deciding what to order and everyone else's looked delicious.
