I've been craving a proper lobster roll, and Zeke's absolutely delivered! It was AMAZING--exactly what I was hoping for. The fries were really good too, and I have to mention the ranch because I am PICKY about ranch and this was the good kind! The drinks were also a win. We tried the margarita and strawberry daiquiri, and both were so good and refreshing. The kids got butter noodles and chicken, my husband got the fish, and everything at the table was a hit. They got my order wrong along with my wife's, we had to sit there for 15 minutes waiting for our food, watching the other members of the family eat. Took forever for water refill, the kids food(chicken strips and fish chunks) was so bland the kids didn't eat it. After it was all said and done, they gave us a credit for the Caesar Salad. As a local, I've been to Zeke's more times than I probably should admit, and every visit seems to follow the same formula: great atmosphere, beautiful location, mediocre food, and service that somehow finds a new way to disappoint. The place itself is gorgeous. The setting is fantastic. You walk in thinking, "Okay, this is going to be a great experience." Then somewhere between the host stand and the check, things begin to unravel. Today finally pushed me into Yelp-review territory. We stopped in around 1 p.m. on a slow Sunday. The hostesses were gathered around the stand chatting like somebody had just dropped screenshots from the group text. The person who eventually greeted us was wearing dark sunglasses inside, which was certainly a choice. Not exactly the polished first impression you expect from a restaurant charging these prices. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our server struggled to explain the specials, answer basic menu questions, or really seem familiar with what the restaurant was serving. Again, if I'm paying Zeke's prices, I'm expecting something slightly more polished than, "I thinnnnk that comes with..." Then the food arrived. One sandwich was specifically ordered without onions because of a food allergy. It arrived covered in onions. Another meal was supposed to come with Brussels sprouts. It arrived with fries instead. Our server disappeared for about 15 minutes after the food was dropped, so by the time she came back, we were nearly finished eating and in need of refills. I mentioned the missing Brussels sprouts and was told they'd be "right out." The Brussels sprouts were not right out. In fact, the Brussels sprouts apparently entered the witness protection program because we never saw them again. Neither did our server. Eventually she returned with the checks, seemed surprised that the Brussels sprouts had never arrived, removed them from the bill, and otherwise appeared remarkably unconcerned that the meal had been wrong from beginning to end. And that's really my issue with Zeke's. Restaurants have off days. Kitchens make mistakes. Servers forget things. I get it. But when you're charging premium prices, service should be the easy part to get right... and after multiple visits, Zeke's consistently misses the mark. At this point, I'll spend my local dollars elsewhere. And if you're visiting from out of town, just know what you're getting into: the view may be beautiful, but there's a decent chance your wallet will leave considerably lighter while you're still wondering whatever happened to your Brussels sprouts. read more

Our party of 4 had a reservation and were sat right away on a Monday night - just in time for the sunset in April. 20 mins after sitting, no wait staff, no water, nada. We decided to leave but the manager Gabe managed to convince us to stay offering to comp our dinners. While we could've really taken advantage of this offer, we ordered as we normally would. No apps, no desserts, nothing extra. Just 4 entrees and we were good. This gesture was above and beyond and I commend him making it right and that's what got this to 3 stars. The food was mid at best. The fried shrimp was lukewarm when served, the lobster roll was more bread than anything, and the pork chop was tough - overcooked. My whole Moroccan fish was ok - but the waiter failed to ask what side I wanted and just served it with mashed potatoes. Had he asked I would've chosen rice. We already felt we were accommodated so we didn't want to bring any more things up. It's a cool spot and I'm sure there are challenges on a regular basis. Zeke's is probably one of the best restaurants in all of perdido, orange beach, and gulf shores. We had chef selection oyster from Maine. Fantastic. Then we had the caviar service and champagne. Absolutely wonderful. Comes with potato chips, cream franche, shallots, and chives. Pan seared scallops were perfectly cooked. The lobster roll was great as well and the calamari was top tier. The bartenders are great and don't skimp on pours. Sage was sweetheart. Get here early as it gets very crowded. Best bet is to find a seat at the open bar. Zeke's in Orange Beach, Alabama is over rated and over priced. We recently went there for lunch and were extremely disappointed with everything. My wife ordered a wedge salad, a half dozen oysters on the half shell and a glass of tea. I ordered a dozen oysters and a glass of tea. Our bill, without a tip was almost $90.00. A joke! And . . . it took 5 minutes or more for us to receive our order. After about 20 minutes, my wife asked if she could have her salad while we waited for our oysters. The answer was "No, because they are being made in the same area." What? Idiotic! When the order was finally served, the oysters we about the size of a quarter. I grew up on the Gulf Coast and have never seen a smaller oyster served. There are many wonderful restaurants in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores . . . Zeke's isn't one of them. read more

I am gluten free and have other food allergies and she went and checked to make sure what I wanted would be safe and it was! My only complaint was that I thought my 4 scallops and asparagus was pretty wimpy compared to my husband's 2 giant crab cakes with corn, and the scallops cost more. Came here on the night of our anniversary and Zeke's did not disappoint!! It was a cold evening, but we sat outside as they have a cute tent next to the marina with warmers. Since it was our anniversary, I wanted to sit closer to the water and they had no issue with moving us. All of the staff was super friendly and came over to talk to us and even said that they couldn't believe we've been together for 21 years because we looked so young. We told them that we were vampires. Several servers helped out and all were super friendly. Our server was amazing. I told her that I don't eat pork so she was very careful with letting me know which sauces I should stay away from. Her suggestions were great. I certainly had a hard time choosing, but I ended up with the scallops and HubbyStanks ended up getting the blackened cobia. Our entrées were amazing, but I was most impressed with the beans and rice that came with my HubbyStanks' dish. It was so tasty and it had a kick to it. I was also super impressed with their smoked salmon dip! I don't like mayonnaise so I'm always iffy with anything like this, but the mayo did not overpower the dip and the fresh cream on top was a fresh touch! I was full, but I had to try the crème brûlée. It was classic. It was perfect. Several days later, we ate someplace else for my mom's 70th birthday but the whole time we were there we wished we would have booked Zeke's again! We celebrated our 21st anniversary at Zeke's, and it couldn't have been more perfect. We started with the smoked salmon dip which was absolutely delicious, then had the blackened cobia and scallops, both cooked to perfection. Every bite was a 10/10, and the crème brûlée at the end was the perfect finish. Light and creamy. The service was just as good as the food, manager stopped by to greet us and wished us a happy anniversary. Very friendly, attentive, and genuine. Ok so it wasn't a very good experience here on Friday, July 3rd 2026 but you can see that this place has potential. I strongly recommend that ownership review their leaderships handling of issues as they inevitably arise. The waiter started off strong and was attentive and good with recommendations. However that changed as the dinner went on and he disappeared. He highly recommended the grouper bites which we ordered. He also said he was going to request a "10 min hold" on our dinner orders so that they didn't come out with the appetizer, which we appreciated. When the grouper bites arrived, they simply were not as outstanding as he described. I would definitely prefer them to be a bit crispier as the batter was soggy and it just fell off, while the flavor was ok, no one at the table asked for the remaining bites that were left after passing the plate, so that tells me a lot with a hungry group. Next when our orders started coming out about 10 min after the appetizers were eaten, they only brought out 1/2 the table. The server who brought those out said the rest was right behind her. Well we waited for over 25min to finally receive the rest of the food for the table. Yikes!! Our waiter just disappeared after the first orders arrive and after 5 min of waiting we asked about the other plates. He was no where to be found after that for like 25 minutes. After 10 minutes, we flagged down a different waiter and requested help and they brought the manager over. Once the manager came over and then went back to the kitchen and then came back to take orders again from the plates that were not delivered. Our waiter was still MIA the whole time until AFTER the food finally arrived (which he didn't bring out BTW). Geeze...... Lastly the waiter again disappeared after briefly checking on if the food was ok after the final plates were delivered. I had to flag him down after waiting for him for 10-15 minutes after everyone was done just to try to pay the bill....... So let's discuss the food. I ordered the shrimp boil. The corn and potatoes were good and seasoned perfectly. They advertise that they serve Connecuh Sausage which I love! However after the boil came out they covered the sausage in something like old bay. Wow they should NEVER do that. Connecuh Sausage is delicious by itself. Don't ruin it by adding extra spice to it! Lastly the Gulf shrimp were large and plentiful which was wonderful. However, they WAYYYYYY over boiled them as they were mushy and hard to peel. This had so much potential to be a great meal but the kitchen didn't know how to prepare it. Now for the good part, the atmosphere was great. Beautiful sunset, outside. Nice breeze blowing across the outside dining. It was great seeing the large fishing boats coming in. This setting has so much potential!!! Overall I would like to think this was LIKELY just a bad night for the kitchen and our waiter, as I didn't see similar problems at other tables, but when you are spending this type of money, at a family dinner, you'd expect better food and service. And when the manager finally got involved you would think they may offer a very sincere apology and/or at least comp something, like the late dishes, or offer a free drink to the guests who waited, or even a dessert, however they didn't offer anything except our waiter offering a passing apology- like it was an just an inconvenience to have half the dinner party entirely finished with their meal (that had gotten cold BTW waiting on the final plates) before the other three ever received theirs. That lack of ownership to their mistake, especially with a manager knowing about it and having to get involved to resolve, was disappointing. It also tells me the root issue is leadership in both the front of the house and back of the house, as that mistake should have been addressed quickly and a personal follow up apology would have been very appropriate. Final verdict would be to proceed with caution here, until other reviews confirm that Zeke's is performing better AND that leadership is resolving issues and owning them when they inevitably arise. the restaurant is so fun and unique in the sense of you can have fish you caught be cooked and served by them! that's what my family did! i got peel and eat shrimp, which looks like not a lot from the photo, but there were plenty. $18 for that, and i think it was worth it. they put strange condom things over the lemons to catch the seeds when you squeeze them. never saw that before. also my waiter looked like bobby from the backrooms movie; he was super chill! i'm giving it a 4 star review because when we went, the waiters were probably very overworked and therefore, we were not attended to as much as we needed. we did have a group of 11, though, so maybe that's why. but i think they were understaffed and overworked, so i don't really blame them. cute place! read more

We made a reservation and were able to be seated immediately which was nice as the wait time is usually very long due to it being a popular place. We started by sharing the caesar salad which was great, the cornbread croutons are so tasty! I got the rip tide cocktail and it was very tasty and refreshing. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was absolutely wonderful, with huge gulf shrimp! My husband got the swordfish which was also very tasty! Our server, Gil, was very kind and attentive as well! I had quite a few friends tell me that Zeke's is THE spot in Orange Beach, and I was really looking forward to our visit. After a dinner here with our group of seven, I have to say that while it's definitely worth a visit for the food, the service left a lot to be desired. We made a reservation well in advance, and I would definitely recommend doing so if you have a large group ... or even if it's just two of you, because you can expect a wait. We were seated inside promptly at the time of our reservation, and we loved walking past the display of fresh fish on our way in. The decor is worth a shout out as well - especially the wall of fishing rods. The service was rough from the beginning. Although our waitress checked in regularly, we had the overwhelming feeling that she didn't want us to be there. Indeed, we got that notion even more when the restaurant shut off the music inside promptly at 10 PM. I should note that our reservation was for 8:30, and we didn't take more than a few minutes to look at the menu and place our orders. We were still working on our entrees when this happened, and felt like we needed to rush through the rest of our meal. I completely understand wanting to close up the restaurant quickly and efficiently, but when you're spending hundreds of dollars on a nice meal for your family, it's definitely not something you want to have to rush through. There were also several other groups in the dining room, and out on the patio. Maybe their last reservation should be at 8 instead of 8:30? Even still, the food was incredible. All of the fish was fresh and flavorful. We ordered the seafood tower along with a few appetizers and sides, and this was a great amount of food for seven people. I especially loved the oysters, and the poke tuna with housemade chips. The crab legs were tasty too, and prepared perfectly. Really enjoyed the food but the service and attitudes leave much to be desired. A colleague and I were in town on business and chose Zeke's. I'm happy we did because dinner was very good! We stopped by without a reservation on what appeared to be a slow Tuesday night. We were told we could sit outside or at the bar but inside would be an hour and half wait because of existing reservations (even though the restaurant was half full). We found spots at the bar and ate dinner there. When we left almost two hours later, the restaurant was still half full and no line. The service from the bartenders was just as poor as at the hostess stand. We ordered drinks and my buddy was given his fairly quickly but almost five minutes passed when the bartender seemed to remember she forgot mine and asked someone else to bring it to me. We placed our dinner orders and my buddy ordered an appetizer. About 15 minutes later, the bartender asked "which appetizer did you order?" Great job! As one can guess, our dinners arrived shortly thereafter and our appetizer was brought out 5 minutes later. Really poor!!! The kitchen staff clearly do a great job as our dinners were very good but whomever is in charge of training and managing the hostess stand and the bar seriously needs to do a better job. It was the night of the GoGo Dolls concert this past weekend & Jake & his wife went there to eat. He said that they got seated at a table for 6 to start with. His wife ordered the crab cakes & said they were not any good. Jake ordered the shrimp scampi pasta & it wasn't any good. I thought more of Zekes as I know a few that work there. The lobster roll is average at best and $40. That's a no. The grouper bites were phenomenal. We should have just gotten multiple orders of those. Someone in our party had an issue with their steak order and we almost had a drink dropped on us by staff. It felt like a bad version of top chef restaurant wars where they created a pop up restaurant in 24 hours. An attempt to have higher turnover and more business aka more money in their pocket but at the expense of the experience and service for the guests. I made a reservation for the restaurant -not to be seated upstairs at a casual wedding type set up. Didn't have water for 30 minutes after sitting down. Ordered a bottle of wine- was told they didn't have it but it still showed up on our check. Ordered a vodka soda with grapefruit instead and was told they don't have grapefruit... there is literally a Paloma on the cocktail menu with "ruby red grapefruit"!!! The local oysters were delicious. Ordered the Cobia and flavor was great but it arrived lukewarm. Crab cakes came with "elote" but were drowning in some sort of Indian type sauce. Completely different than most pictures on Yelp. Bacon jam on top was good though. This was our second time and likely won't come back. read more
