We loved the ambiance and the food. I had the Blackened Cobia and I would get his every time. This is my new favorite here in the area!! The grouper bites are a wonderful appetizer as well. I can't wait to come back!

This was our first time here and we made reservations so we didn't have to wait which was nice. The place is pretty inside and out. We didn't partake in the bar or the music, but the food was fabulous. Our service was very good and we enjoyed our visit.

    CAVIAR SERVICE*

Zeke's is probably one of the best restaurants in all of perdido, orange beach, and gulf shores. We had chef selection oyster from Maine. Fantastic. Then we had the caviar service and champagne. Absolutely wonderful. Comes with potato chips, cream franche, shallots, and chives. Pan seared scallops were perfectly cooked. The lobster roll was great as well and the calamari was top tier. The bartenders are great and don't skimp on pours. Sage was sweetheart. Get here early as it gets very crowded. Best bet is to find a seat at the open bar. Really cool interior and a great place to watch the sunset out back.

Our party of 4 had a reservation and were sat right away on a Monday night - just in time for the sunset in April. 20 mins after sitting, no wait staff, no water, nada. We decided to leave but the manager Gabe managed to convince us to stay offering to comp our dinners. While we could've really taken advantage of this offer, we ordered as we normally would. No apps, no desserts, nothing extra. Just 4 entrees and we were good. This gesture was above and beyond and I commend him making it right and that's what got this to 3 stars. The food was mid at best. The fried shrimp was lukewarm when served, the lobster roll was more bread than anything, and the pork chop was tough - overcooked. My whole Moroccan fish was ok - but the waiter failed to ask what side I wanted and just served it with mashed potatoes. Had he asked I would've chosen rice. We already felt we were accommodated so we didn't want to bring any more things up. It's a cool spot and I'm sure there are challenges on a regular basis. It was just an ok experience for us.

Shrimp platter was great but got the blackened Cobia and dirty rice and it was luke warm and dried out. Disappointed since it was only 5:45. Expected better quality, sorry.

    21st Anniversary Dinner!

Came here on the night of our anniversary and Zeke's did not disappoint!! It was a cold evening, but we sat outside as they have a cute tent next to the marina with warmers. Since it was our anniversary, I wanted to sit closer to the water and they had no issue with moving us. All of the staff was super friendly and came over to talk to us and even said that they couldn't believe we've been together for 21 years because we looked so young. We told them that we were vampires. Several servers helped out and all were super friendly. Our server was amazing. I told her that I don't eat pork so she was very careful with letting me know which sauces I should stay away from. Her suggestions were great. I certainly had a hard time choosing, but I ended up with the scallops and HubbyStanks ended up getting the blackened cobia. Our entrées were amazing, but I was most impressed with the beans and rice that came with my HubbyStanks' dish. It was so tasty and it had a kick to it. I was also super impressed with their smoked salmon dip! I don't like mayonnaise so I'm always iffy with anything like this, but the mayo did not overpower the dip and the fresh cream on top was a fresh touch! I was full, but I had to try the crème brûlée. It was classic. It was perfect. Several days later, we ate someplace else for my mom's 70th birthday but the whole time we were there we wished we would have booked Zeke's again! A new fave in OB for me!

    Peel & Eat Shrimp

the restaurant is so fun and unique in the sense of you can have fish you caught be cooked and served by them! that's what my family did! i got peel and eat shrimp, which looks like not a lot from the photo, but there were plenty. $18 for that, and i think it was worth it. they put strange condom things over the lemons to catch the seeds when you squeeze them. never saw that before. also my waiter looked like bobby from the backrooms movie; he was super chill! i'm giving it a 4 star review because when we went, the waiters were probably very overworked and therefore, we were not attended to as much as we needed. we did have a group of 11, though, so maybe that's why. but i think they were understaffed and overworked, so i don't really blame them. cute place!

We love coming down to Zeke's on our trips to OBA! The seafood is always so fresh and the service is always great. We made a reservation and were able to be seated immediately which was nice as the wait time is usually very long due to it being a popular place. We started by sharing the caesar salad which was great, the cornbread croutons are so tasty! I got the rip tide cocktail and it was very tasty and refreshing. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was absolutely wonderful, with huge gulf shrimp! My husband got the swordfish which was also very tasty! Our server, Gil, was very kind and attentive as well! We will definitely be coming back.

    PAN-SEARED SCALLOPS

We went without a reservation at a busy time and was still able to be seated in under 30min. Plenty of things to do while waiting- no complaints there. Our server was WONDERFUL! I am gluten free and have other food allergies and she went and checked to make sure what I wanted would be safe and it was! My only complaint was that I thought my 4 scallops and asparagus was pretty wimpy compared to my husband's 2 giant crab cakes with corn, and the scallops cost more. The chef's choice oysters were my husband's favorite.

We celebrated our 21st anniversary at Zeke's, and it couldn't have been more perfect. We started with the smoked salmon dip which was absolutely delicious, then had the blackened cobia and scallops, both cooked to perfection. Every bite was a 10/10, and the crème brûlée at the end was the perfect finish. Light and creamy. The service was just as good as the food, manager stopped by to greet us and wished us a happy anniversary. Very friendly, attentive, and genuine. We sat outside corner table with a beautiful view of the water and enjoyed every minute of it. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We loved this place! Not only is the food phenomenal, but the service and views are incredible. Well got seated immediately during a busy evening for a family of 4, including 2 kids. Kid size portions are generous. We'll definitely be coming back for more.

So good we had to come back! We had a great time - live music, great food and outstanding service. So long as the weather is good, be sure to eat outside and enjoy the sunset!

Ask the Community - Zeke's Restaurant

    What are entre prices?

$15.00-25.00 for the most part. If you go higher end steak $25.00-50.00. Very reasonable for the quality and quantity.

    Does Zekes take reservations?

    Yes they do.

My wife has developed an egg allergy, how knowledgeable are the servers when it comes to knowing what might have egg in it?

Zeke's is really good about allergies. Most times the server asks about allergies as soon as they gat to your table. If they don't, tell them. They seem to be very good about allergies as my son has a peanut allergy.

Hi! What is the attire at Zekes? Do men need a collared shirt? Is it ok to bring kids? Thanks!

I'd say smart casual in the evening but I've seen people in t-shirts, shorts and sandals. They don't have a specific dress code although I am pretty sure it's a "no shirt no shoes no service" kind of place. It's a nice restaurant so consider that.…

Is there space available to rent for a semi private party? 30 people maximum.

I don't know. Best to call the restaurant since you will have to call to book anything anyway. Restaurant phone number: 251-280-8008.

    Is the outside dog friendly?

Hi Deanna! Both the outdoor dining area and container bar are dog friendly!

One thing that stood out was the gift shop at the entrance--it could definitely use a refresh. The dark corner filled with outdated beach clothing isn't the best first impression. We visited on a Tuesday around 7:00 p.m., and there was no wait. During our meal, only about four tables were occupied, so it was very quiet. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us frequently. The only odd part of the atmosphere was that cartoons were playing on the bar TVs even though there weren't any kids in the restaurant. For dinner, my husband ordered the surf and turf, and his steak was cooked perfectly. The baked potato, however, came with an overwhelming amount of melted cheese--enough for several potatoes. I ordered the blackened grouper. It was cooked well and had good flavor, but the fillet was very thin and wasn't as memorable as other grouper dishes I've had. The whipped sweet potatoes were sweeter than expected from the brown sugar, and the Brussels sprouts were heavily coated in a sweet balsamic glaze, leaving them soft instead of crispy. I think both sides would be better with less added sweetness to let the natural flavors shine. We finished with the Bananas Foster, which was delicious and a fun presentation. It came with three small scoops of vanilla ice cream and half a banana. Since the flaming presentation takes a little time, larger scoops of ice cream would hold up better and not be half melted by the time the fire goes out. We would come back to avoid wait at other restaurants but would try different side dishes next time.

Like it's almost insane. I work in mobile so I'm already crabby for the one hour and twenty minute drive to and from there. I told my daughter I'd take her out to eat. We came here. To my surprise- not many people at all. The bartender was our server she was incredibly tentative and nice. We ordered crab dip 7/10. I would like to see it paired with chips instead of bread stick. I got the catch of the day with a loaded baked potato and side salad which that to me was a 8.5/10. I was so full and so excited for my left overs. The manager was checking on every one and offered my daughter fish food. At this point I have paid and we went to go feed the fish and when we came back everything on the table was gone. My bill was 92 which might be normal for 2 people here I'm not too sure yet. But I was so disappointed. My daughter said it was the best butter noodles she ever had and she ate up the bread.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

The first thing that impressed me was the ample parking. The restaurant also has a small private beach area for customers, along with a great bar area overlooking the water. The property is handicap accessible with both ramps and stairs, making it easy for everyone to enjoy. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Assistant Manager Taylor. He made me feel extremely welcome and even recommended a lunch item from the menu. I took his advice and ordered the Pork Ribeye Sandwich, and it was absolutely amazing. On the side, I had a salad with their homemade ranch dressing. Without a doubt, this is some of the best ranch dressing I have ever had. The bartender, Cody, was outstanding as well. I tried the Lime Margarita, Blackberry Mojito, and the Strawberry Basil drink. Every one of them was fantastic. You can tell this is a place that people genuinely enjoy working at. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the customers all seemed happy to be there. It's rare to find a restaurant that gets everything right, but Avenue Pub comes very close.
