Best food we've had during our week long stay in Perdido Key. Beautiful setting, especially at sunset (thankful for the large fans!) We are a largest party and were seated relatively quickly. Kids meal options were on par with kid favs and priced very well. We enjoyed appetizers and delicious food including steamed shrimp (Wowsers), Swai (fried, blackened, and baked), trigger fish aka unicorn, grilled shrimp, blackened chicken, fried pickles, cheese curds, and more. Drove by this place on the jet ski the other day so I figured I'd give it a try today... And now I'm reminded again why it's so much better to eat at home... I had ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds in the smoked tuna dip sandwich... The bartender thought I just wanted a scoop of smoked tuna dip I said yeah that's fine. I got a scoop of smoked tuna dip and it was delicious... All the crackers were broken oh well that's not a big deal... Then I got the Wisconsin cheese curds they were great also. I had two Busch lights and then I got my bill. Would anybody else think it's ridiculous to pay $43 for two bush lights in order of deep fried cheese curds and one scoop of tuna dip? We were staying down the street and thought we'd give it a try instead of driving into the chaos of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. So glad we did. It's a very casual place right on the water. Beautiful sunset views for sure. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the food to be that good. But it was. The shrimp and grits were awesome! Drinks were good and service as well. Talk about a gorgeous view while enjoying a delicious meal. We drove our vehicle by land while others arrived by boat and docked along their pier out back. Arrived in time to watch the sun set over the water. Very accommodating staff that helped to satisfy all our needs. Reasonable food portions were served for each menu item. Best meal we had the whole week at the beach! Hidden gem. We loved our time at Sunset Grille! We were seated with no wait. They didn't have any kids coloring sheets but they found some blank paper and crayons and our kids went to town playing. Bonus is the playground fully fenced in right outside of one of the patios. GUYS, the SMOKED TUNA DIP is incredible. SO GOOD! If you only try one thing, just try it. We also got crab claws and they were the best ones of our whole trip. My dad ordered the Swai Po-Boy, and he said it was a good mild flaky fish. We had never heard of it before. The table ended up ordering mahi, oyster, and shrimp po-boys. Normally my camera eats first, but we were all hungry and I only got a couple pictures. Maybe the next time we're there I'll grab some more! We will be back, for sure! read more

If you want to eat right by the water this is a nice place to check out. The service good but I was not impressed with the food. The fried shrimps were small and tasted like frozen shrimps. I asked for tartar sauce but I was told that they only serve their signature tarter sauce which I wasn't a fan of. I wanted regular tartar sauce. Also, the Hush puppies tasted more like potato balls than Hush puppies. I give this place 3 stars for the ambiance, service, and cleanliness. read more

We came to Perdido key for our anniversary day trip ! Locals recommended the sunset grill. . Everything we tried was great ! Grits , fries , chicken, fish , onion rings . All were very tasty ! Our server was great too ! She was able to tell us where we could launch our vessels near by as well so we took her advise ! Got to see 3 islands & a dolphin ! Also this place supports military ! Ok, the view here is amazing. If they can get the service (management) squared away the reviews would improve. We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday, the place looked busy but, all tables not seated, maybe short handed. We were told 5 minutes, and it was accurate. We were seated and at our table for nearly 10 minutes before our waitress showed up. Meanwhile, two different waitresses were working tables on either side of us. I am guessing, no assigned sections. I watched our waitress take care of tables all over the restaurant. This seemed to cause them all to work with their feet with single task after single task in a linear fashion. Chaotic, is how this is best described and how errors can and did happen. By the time she arrived for our drink order, we were ready to also order apps and entrees. We ordered beer and wine with a cup of gumbo. I ordered the grouper blackened with a onion rings and a cucumber salad. She had the grilled grouper with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. No, gumbo appetizer came out and our meals arrived. I told the expeditor who brought our food to just take it off the check since our meals are already here, she apologized. Next our waitress brought the gumbo in a to go bag, to which I replied, I can not take that with me as we are on our boat and please just take it off my check. She complied and apologized. The fish on both plates was perfectly cooked with great flavor. The cucumber salad and onion rings tasted great. However, her coleslaw was not tasty and the sweet potato fries were soggy, but good flavor. I hope the restaurant reads this review and understands the service issues are a guidance or managment issue. Everyone one was very friendly and were genuinly apologetic about the errors. Since this place is in a marina, there appeared to be plenty of parking. Again, the view is amazing and likely saved them a star on this review. read more

This is right on the water and provides spectacular views of the sunset. They have inside and outside seating. They also have an outside area where kids can play in the sand. Food is good hubby had crab claws and a shrimp platter I had a blackened chicken sandwich ( someone has to try the non seafood lol) everything was good. We started with cocktails a bushwhacker for hubby and margarita for me. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. This is a local place and off the beaten path. Haven't been here in a bit, last review was four years ago and aside from a few tweaks this place remains consistently good and has survived Covid and hurricane Sally nicely.  Sunset Grille, located at 14050 Canal A Way in Pensacola, FL, is a popular waterfront restaurant known for its delicious seafood, casual atmosphere, and stunning views of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. Open since the early 1990s, Sunset Grille has been a favorite among locals and tourists alike for its fresh, high-quality dishes and friendly service. The seating is mostly covered-open-air, but there is a small inside area that has AC. and they also enclose one of the porches when the weather is too hot, wet or gets a tad cold. The restaurant's menu features a variety of seafood dishes, from classic fried shrimp and oysters to more adventurous options like grilled tuna steak and shrimp and grits. Sunset Grille also offers a range of burgers, sandwiches, and salads, as well as a full bar with a variety of cocktails, beers, and wines. They seated our party of 8 quickly at prime time and that was appreciated and our order was taken promptly but it took forever to arrive and was only so so. This little gem is aptly named as it overlooks the intercostal side of Perdido key. It has million dollar views that are beautiful and relaxing. Many customers arrive by boat, and it is fun to admire their vessels. Anything grouper is what you want to order here. I especially recommend the grouper bites. The grouper Ruben was also pretty good. Sunset Grill is dog friendly so bring the pooch. Service was a tad slow when we visited, but no one should complain about hanging out here. read more
