My husband and I were staying in Gulf Shores and wanted to have an upscale dining experience nearby. Based on reviews, we chose Voyagers for our Tuesday evening dinner. When we first arrived at the resort, we were in awe by the beautiful landscaping. We arrived early and decided to have a cocktail at the resort bar before our dinner reservation at 7:30PM. There was live music in the lounge area. When we checked in for our reservation, we were seated right away by a window, which I requested. The view was nice. Our waitress was quiet and seemed very busy with multiple tables. For appetizers, we ordered the fried quail knots and a bowl of soup. For dinner, we ordered the duroc pork chop and 10 oz filet. For sides, we ordered Bayside Blue Mac and Potato Hash. Overall, everything was VERY rich and decadent, heavy. The pork chop was tough, the filet was very thick and tough, the sides were salty, saucy, and heavy. Last year we went and had a great experience unfortunately this year was the opposite!! Our cocktails took about 45 minutes to arrive and they were warm Our food took approximately 1 hour to receive our food. Five of us ordered petite filet cooked medium, they all came out rare and had to be sent back. Then that took another thirty minutes When we finally asked our server about our food he became indignant. They charge an extra $2.50 for an olive in the martini There was never an apology or offer to bring a complimentary dessert or something. We had been in the car all day long, arrived at the resort, checked in, and by the time our luggage arrived to our room and we got everything situated it was time for dinner. We were all worn out and I considered canceling the dinner reservation, but it was too late and I would've been charged a cancellation fee, so we went. My son and I walked in and were seated and handed menus. The rest of our party went outside on the balcony to take some photos. The girl who showed us to our seats acted friendly, and said, "How long are you staying here?l and I told her "until Thursday" to which she responded, "Oh, will you be dining with us again?" I thought it wise sorts an odd question but I said, "Um, I'm not sure; we haven't decided yet." She then said, "Well if you do, I just wanted to let you know that we have a strict dress code, so if you do come back, you need to be aware," and she walked away, I sat there thinking to myself, "I'm about to drop 500+ bucks in this place, and she's complaining about dress code?" I admit, we were somewhat underdressed, but we weren't looking shabby or disheveled by any means. I can go out on South Beach wearing a T-shirt and flip flops and they won't say a thing. IDK. Forgive me but I believe our server was Craig aka John; well, I was calling him John as he resembled a younger John Travolta. Ha! Anyways, he was absolutely outstanding! He delivered exemplary politeness and manners, had high quality experience and a vast knowledge of everything on the entire menu and wine list. I'll tell you everything we ordered was delicious. The flavor profile of the spiny lobster spring rolls were to die for, while writing this it's evoking cravings for more. I had the gulf fish special of the evening, it was amazing, a perfect for summer dish which was just what I wanted. It had a watermelon, feta salad that accompanied it perfectly. I tried the whole fish, and OMG get it!!! That's the best way to eat fresh catch Gulf fish in my opinion, it was melt in your mouth, fall off the bone, and the flavors and seasoning were on point! Wow. We had a phenomenal meal and exceptional service. Rusty took care of our group of 5 and took extra time to not only get to know us but also tell us about some great hidden gems in the area and give us an interesting cocktail lesson. From the bread, to tartare to entrees (I got the whole snapper), everything was soo good! And the cocktails were impressive as well - I recommend the sazarec and banana old fashioned. I had the fish special which was very good (sauce was amazing), but it came with these little pasta dumpling type things. The pasta was very undercooked and thick. I overheard a man at the table next to us complaining to the manager about the same thing. My husband had the pork chopped and said it was good, but the start of the show was his potato hash. Hands down a fabulous place to eat! Perfect way to end the vacation! I did make a reservation the day prior and the only thing they had available was 8:15pm. It worked out perfectly because we got there a little early and our table was ready to be seated. Waiter was super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. I did the Caesar salad and it was pretty good! The quail egg over easy was a perfect touch. Presentation of the salad was beautiful with a crouton crisp ring to add height and incase the salad! The only thing I would suggest is doing a Parmesan crisp which adds more flavor and smaller crunch as it was a little too much eating the outer ring. The blue fin tuna was rare and perfectly cooked! It cut like butter! The farro risotto was lemony with peppers. The salad was a great touch (spinach, bell pepper, red onion mix) and I thought it paired well with the tuna. I would suggest maybe searing the outside of the tuna with a lemon herb for better crunch to the entree. My fiancé got the dry aged ribeye and the purple sweet potato gnocchi which was 10/10! If you like sweet potato, you'd love this gnocchi! They topped the side with Parmesan which gave it a little crisp! That ribeye was cooked perfect and seasoning was great! Would not change a thing! Pricing was very fair compared to other higher end restaurants and the portions were very generous for pricing! We ended our meal with 2 complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and a dessert wine! I haven't had many dessert wines, but it had rich notes of dark cholesterol and cherry and was amazing! We were staying at the Perdido Beach Resort over Memorial Day weekend and the restaurant was booked. Sally worked her magic and was able to get us in for a late dinner as my husband was not returning from his scuba trip until 8:30. That was the first great impression. Once seated, Adam came over and said he saw notes stating I was a vegetarian and asked what kind of things I liked and the chef would make something for me based on that. We settled with a vegetarian pasta dish (minus onion and garlic as I don't like those ingredients) and let me tell you it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. It was delicious! My husband had the strip and a baked potato (not the stuffed one as he doesn't like onion either). Both were really good. They start with fresh baked bread and it too was delicious. I had a bottle of wine I brought in (the corkage fee is $30) and hubby had some domestic beers. We ended with the pistachio cheesecake and it was divine. They also brought out some chocolate covered strawberries. A manager stopped by at the end to make sure we were happy and we expressed just how nice the entire experience was. The restaurant is very pretty and the food and service were top notch. We eat in many fine dining places at home and on our frequent travels, and this one rates at the top! They have steaks and seafood dishes but will happily accommodate a vegetarian request. If you find yourself going to the area, book this restaurant and you won't be sorry. I want to start off by saying I had no issues with our server! We came in for a birthday celebration while on vacation. Took at least 15 minutes to be approached by someone who only offered us water. Finally server approached us 20 minutes later, no issues at this point I understand servers get busy. We put in our drink, appetizer, and entree order in all at once. We did not receive our entree order until over 2 hours later. I do not know if the server forgot to put the order in or the kitchen was backed up, but we unfortunately felt neglected. The general manager was tending to the wrong customers in my opinion, never came to check on us while we were clearly waiting for a very long time with no food in front of us. By the time the food arrived we were ready to go, had lost interest/our appetites at this point. The hostess was super rude, but the waiter, Scott, immediately made up for it. He was great - making us feel welcome and explaining everything on the menu. He even made some suggestions. He got help from another excellent waiter Rusty who entertained our entire group with his awesome accent ("Roll Tide!") . A ++ for service. (Except the hostess, give her a D-) The food was mostly excellent. Big winners Grouper - Son in law said it was the best meal he ever had. Wagu steak. Yellow Fin tuna. Summer squash soup. The peach cheesecake dessert was unbelievable (13 layer chocolate cake was quite good too). Sirloin steak and Filet minion were considerably above average. Hanging something steak had amazing flavor but kind of rubbery texture. I loved it but others of our group did not. One kind of fish was not good. Not sure what it was. Boney and overwhelmingly fishy, but he got enough shared bites of other meals to have an excelled meal anyway. Wine list was adequate with lots of fine choices, but extremely high prices for what it was. Overall it was a great experience. Some of our party had not been to a restaurant of this level before and it was a memorable first for them. Others had considerable high end fine dining experience all over the USA and the world and found Voyagers in the top echelon as an overall dining experience. Pricing is not bad for high end dining in 2025. Figure on $100 per person with one bottle of wine and no cocktails. Was it worth it? As much as any high end restaurant is. If it was not for the remarkable service, it would have been just at the edge of worth it, but the service pushed , it over the top read more

Very tasty and cooked perfectly. Did not get any additional toppings on it. The side of mashed potato was excellent. The scallops dinner was excellent. Order two bourbon with ONE cube OF ICE. They charged $3 each for the ice. I ordered two of these. Asked for an explanation and they said it was for extra bourbon due to the ice. THIS MAKES NO SENSE. Pour the one ounce then ad the one cube of ice. This was a $6 grab for two cubes of ice. DO NOT ORDER ICE WITH YOUR DRINK. This extra charge is NOT disclosed. I have NEVER been charged for ICE at any high end dining location anywhere in the world. Dessert was 11 layered cake. Very rich and satisfying. Service was excellent. Reserved two months in advance. Service from Craig is excellent, cocktails top notch but the food was honestly just mediocre. The steak came out rare when it was ordered medium to medium well when it returned from broiling a bit longer it just tasted dry and grainy and the chef special of chicken fried lobster was good but would not order again. Some reason I imagined them being overwhelmingly garlic but they weren't. They were fantastic, nice little garlic, parmesan and horseradish - not overpowering, could have easily ate another dozen. Again Karissa recommended the chicken fried lobster, Jessica also highly recommended it when I asked about it. So I ordered it. I am obsessed. I will be forever dreaming about this dish! I love lobster. It was perfect, everything about the dish. It was rich but NOT overwhelmingly so, the grits were different than Ive had but in a good way, the champagne glaze beautiful! My recent dining experience here was fantastic. The restaurant and the hotel itself located in are wonderful and elegant, I was immediately impressed. We had a reservation but got there a bit early, they were able to seat us earlier than expected! I ordered the Chicken Fried Lobster, which was warm water lobster served with Bayou Cora Aleppo chili grits, agrodolce collard greens, baby turnips, and Champagne cream for $45. Average wait time I'd say, gave us bread in the meantime which was warm and delicious. The main meal was excellent - the fried lobster had the crispiness I needed.
