Shrimp Creole
Ashley S.

GTs On The Bay was suggested so we decided to beat the crowd and check them out for lunch. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted and seated. We noticed the restaurant was tidy but you can tell it's an older establishment, but it had great views with a huge fish tank the middle of the restaurant. They also had a small folk band performing. We were greeted by our waiter and were able to immediately place our orders. I decided I would start off with an appetizer so I ordered a cup of gumbo soup and the salad bar. For lunch, I ordered the shrimp creole. After I was given my plate and visited the salad bar, as soon as I sat back down, my lunch was already served. I definitely appreciate the fast service, but that was too fast to the point where as I ate my soup and salad appetizer when I got to my lunch dish, it was cold. Nonetheless the salad bar was nice. It had a lot of variety of food items and my gumbo soup was so delicious. It was seasoned well and was served hot. I wish I could've taken a pot home with me. The shrimp creole dish was taken home since it was a little cold by the time I could eat it, but it was very delicious and flavorful. For $11, it was a lot of food so the proportion was great. All in all, I enjoyed GTs and will definitely be back again!

GTs Grouper

We had the GT's Grouper, which is the grilled grouper over cheese grits, topped with spinach and meunìére sauce. OMG! It was the best thing I have ever eaten!! We sat at the bar and service was great! Restaurant has live music and is nicely decorated. Has nice outdoor seating, weather permitting.

Sitting on the dock of the bay. Island Rum punch an a pretty much fully engulped Coconut Margarita.

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot which was maintained and organized, and walking thru the 10 foot high wood & glass entry doors, I felt this place was special. Warm beach woods lined the waiting area and a long hallway to get to the main dining room with its large open top "pool" that had large native fish circulating in it. We walked through the nicely appointed interior dining and headed for the huge covered patio, which was open to the north highlighting the view of the slightly windswept Wolf Bay. Massive backbar to the West with a Steel Drummer putting an Island vibe to 1980's popular music including opening soundtracks to 1970's to turn of the century tv shows. OK, this place is cool! Service? It was a slow start. We got there at the end of Happy Hour and the start of the dinner crowd coming in as the sun was setting to the west. After meeting Sergio, our waiter from Romania, we started a "connection", We mentioned that my partner was celiac and dairy intolerant, he shifter his focus from me to my wife, making her feel welcome and making her confident that the staff here take her dietary concerns seriously We ordered GTs on the Bay signature drinks, which were expertly proportioned, ordered our dinner, and then walked out on the dock to the boat parking for the restaurant which was ample for 100's of people to enjoy dining here. We got to only the end of the first third of the dock to snap a picture of the sunset, looked back and they were delivering our food! My God, that was quick! We hustled back to our table on the deck to find our superbly cooked 8 oz medium rare filet tenderloin with smashed gold Yukon potatoes, and my wife's catch of the day, Grilled Amberjack fish with grilled island vegetables. But it was missing the Yukon potatoes. Just then, Sergio shows up to let us know that the kitchen staff recognized that the Yukon Smashed had butter mixed within it for its creamy consistency and they substituted boiled red potatoes, which arrived by another courier as he spoke. Ambience, Service, Food. It was all superb. We have been coming to Orange Beach sporadically since 2015, and now a week every year as we love the area. GT's will be one of our Go To place to take friends and family to share our greatest discoveries in this locale.

Great place for families along with adults who like to groove... Must try the "Blondie" dessert along with the all you can eat salad bar with everything but the kitchen sink available!! Service is always professional as well as proficient- and the view of the bay offers unforgettable Orange Beach sunsets to wind down to after a few jigs on the dance floor to a rocking live band

It was a long wait for a party of 2 but we were able to sit at the full service bar right away. We didn't have the benefit of the water view but it was a small price to pay. Initially I wasn't excited about grits but I really wanted the grouper. I took a chance and so glad I did. It was so amazingly delicious. It was a melody of goodness. I liked it so much I saved some for breakfast the next day.

First Jordan was the bomb.com. The food we ordered was mouthwatering, flavorful, fresh, and savory. The pork chop dinner was unbelievably delicious the sweet potatoes were loaded with flavor and the greens ( someone put there foot in them) they were seasoned so well every bite was give my tastebuds a happy dance and the pork chop cooked perfectly not dry super flavorful with the sauce honestly this meal will have me come back often. Linguine it's not spicy if they say it's spicy it's not. The peppers crawfish and shrimp were seasoned perfectly literally every bite had seasoning on it and it was joyful Crab legs... who can't go wrong with crab legs, but here they stepped it up by seasoning the crab that enhanced the flavor and it was finger licking good PoBoy sandwich first the amount shrimp on that sandwich was excessive in the right way absolutely fantastic fried perfectly not greasy and once again the seasoning was top of the line!!! Strawberry mojito will have you ordering it every few minutes The GTs rum punch was delicious To top this all off was the view I love the bay and it was beautiful today

Really nice atmosphere and ambiance. Restaurant is nice and large. Great view of the bay. I ate sheep head fish. It was good. Large portion. Service was good too. Prices are very reasonable.

nice place, interior is large with booths and tables. there is outside seating but i didn't see that area. i had the salad bar and it was fresh. my friends had shrimp and grits and the fresh catch. the dishes looked good, not great . they seemed to enjoy both selections. there is a large bar and several people sat there. the service is fast and friendly with only a short wait for a table.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

Our meals came with fries and the fries tasted like they were cooked two hours ago in old frying oil. Then, we ordered drinks, I got a margarita and it tasted super weird like they put a bunch of club soda in it?? So yeah the environment was nice but if you go I wouldn't order anything. There's another restaurant across the street Cobalt that we went to the night before and their food was amazing! The food quality was way higher and the prices were great!

ATMOSPHERE Nothing too special about the atmosphere here. I just love that. It was nice clean open area with large windows and plenty of seating and easy to get around. The bar area look cool and the layout was nice. FOOD this is why you came here, right! All kinds of fish cooked all kinds of different ways. Delicious gumbo. Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It even came out in a glass that matched the beer that I had! I like that extra touch.

They had a meat and three sides which is a southern thing. I chose the fresh catch. with side salad, boiled red potatoes, and greens. I had asked the server for the salad first. But it was brought with the meal. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a surprise of a small Peppa dew pepper. Blazing red with a little heat and delicious. Haven't seen them in a restaurant ever. Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

When we first arrived at the resort, we were in awe by the beautiful landscaping. We arrived early and decided to have a cocktail at the resort bar before our dinner reservation at 7:30PM. There was live music in the lounge area. When we checked in for our reservation, we were seated right away by a window, which I requested. The view was nice. Our waitress was quiet and seemed very busy with multiple tables. For appetizers, we ordered the fried quail knots and a bowl of soup. For dinner, we ordered the duroc pork chop and 10 oz filet. For sides, we ordered Bayside Blue Mac and Potato Hash. Overall, everything was VERY rich and decadent, heavy. The pork chop was tough, the filet was very thick and tough, the sides were salty, saucy, and heavy. Overall, the resort is nice and the view inside the restaurant is pretty but the food was too heavy and rich for my liking.
