So my husband and I have been to New Orleans and have had the muffuletta sandwich there from a very prominent place. Per usual upon visiting anywhere, I searched on Yelp for unique places. I'm also pregnant and was craving a hearty sandwich! I stopped in and was tossed between three different ones and the girl at the bar/counter quickly asked if I liked olives, and I said yes. She said I should definitely try the Muffuletta sandwich then, so without a second question I ordered a half, later regretting not getting a whole, and asked for it to be heated. As I waited I heard her joking to the chef that that sandwich was for a pregnant lady and my expectations were high, and if it did not meet my expectations, she'd allow me in the back to let him know. I giggled lol! A few minutes later she handed me my sandwich and I quickly opened it, and devoured it! It not only exceeded my expectations, but it was right up there with the one I had in New Orleans with my husband. And man that bread..... the meat, the spread, all so flavorful and so delicious! More of a local feel off "the strip" of Orange Beach. We tend to shy away from chains and touristy places when traveling so I'm glad I stumbled across this little gem when searching for a quick lunch. Sadly, they were out of oysters at the time but the shrimp were so well lightly breaded and tasty that we didn't really miss it. I had the Cajun Caviar PoBoy with a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was the star of the show, meaty with a nice spice. They also have take and bake options, which I joked about going back to get before our 13 hour drive home. If we had more time to spend in OB, I'd definitely return for a second helping. read more

Alittle hole in the wall in a plaza in OB off Canal Road. No ambience whatsoever, a few tables with holes in the middle to throwaway your garbage. Order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The seafood, in particular the half shrimp, half fried oyster Po'Boy is the best around! If you are looking for flavor they are doing it here. The fried shrimp were succulent and the oysters were just as good. Not cheap for lunch but well worth it! read more

First time here, been looking forward to some Nawlins grub. I ordered the muffaletta & homemade chips. My honey got the Who Dat which is a 1/2 fried oyster 1/2 fried shrimp Po' boy. Beer for her, lemonade for me. My muffaletta was very good and the chips were excellent, could have had a bunch more. My sweetheart thoroughly enjoyed her PO' boys so it was a hit and I am looking forward to trying more of the fun stuff on the menu. They have a meat fridge with prepared stuffed pork chop, meatballs, stiffed roasts, stuffed whole chickens & breasts, turduckens, sausage, gumbo, etouffee, cajun spaghetti & assorted other items. For some of the other observations, pretty good beer selection, there's a couple TV's and they had several people come in for to-go orders while we were there, might have to do that myself :-) Their health department rating is 99 which is always good :-) Megan from Lafayette, LA& her hubby Jesse is from Cajun country as well and & their 2 kids moved here in March and they opened up this cool place in April so they're new locals in paradise. Tried the pepper jack boudin balls and we all loved them! Never had smoked fries before until here and they are very good and unique. One of the worst places I have eaten in the thirty years I've been coming to Gulf Shores. My wife and I had burgers, and they were awful. I had a double burger, and as soon as I bit into it I recognized the unmistakable taste of Costco frozen burger patties. It was awful. The fries were also cold. My wife ordered an American burger, which was hand made, but had so much Cajun spice in if she couldn't eat it. I realize this is supposed to be a Cajun place...but in an American burger. My son got one of their Po boys, and it only had three shrimp and a piece of oyster with a lot of lettuce. Terrible sandwich. If you want to go for a beer it's probably ok, but definitely not for a family. read more

I've got to say these were some of the best po boys I've had. I tried RCA ( boudin on new Orleans bread) and my wife had the monthly po boy ( fried pork tenderloin). We loved them. I gave it two stars because they had a good local beer and the waitress / cashier was working hard and very polite. Biggest issue, no bread for sandwich! How do you not get bread for your signature poboys. It's in your name! Shrimp tacos were ok but seems like something I could make. My friends had gumbo, was good but came out lukewarm temperature wise. Also noticed one cook not wearing gloves. I would not recommend until issues are fixed. read more

We tried Bon Temps on Saturday realizing that they had just opened. I'm hoping our experience was due to just getting the business off of the ground and not what we should expect in the future. The restaurant is clean and fresh and looks inviting with bar seating and tables with holes in the center for trash disposal. The staff was friendly. There were several people taking advantage of the bar and we took a table. Orders are placed at the end of the bar. I ordered the Ham and Debris Poboy and my wife ordered the hamburger. Our order took a long time, the we noticed the cashier picking up a bag that had been n the bar for at least 10 minutes and she brought it to our table. Debris is roast beef in gravy and mine had completely soaked through the bread, paper wrapper, and was working on the paper bag when it arrived. Total mush. The paper wrapper tore trying to separate it from the soaked bag. No way to keep from getting it all over. Worse, the beef was scorched. I managed to eat about half and scraped the rest into the trash. My wife's burger was better, but was over-salted. We paid $28 for the meal, which is on the high side for OBA considering there were no fries with the meals. (When did Zapp's chips start coming 10 to the bag?). I'm posting this in hopes that the management can get things sorted before summer gets here. We will try again after the staff has had time to get thing going a bit better. read more

Spot on, real deal food. The shrimp po boy is amazing - loaded with fresh, perfectly battered and cooked shrimp and all the fixings. My wife had the oyster po boy and raved about it too. It was also loaded down with oysters. My two teenagers scarfed down burgers and said they were among the best they've ever had. Don't miss out on the homemade chips either.
