That's what Louisiana looks like
Kurt L.

The food was good. Like Fish river grill.... The service was good, the server was HONEST and said "everything is popcorn shrimp" EXCEPT "these dishes", what a gem she was. The "ambiance" was nautical and unique- how Anthony Bourdain LOVED! I took a photo of a real New Orleans "place". The table had: Tabasco, Louisiana Hot sauce (one drop does it!) and Crystal hot sauce....(Boudreaux's in Daphne had ZERO of those.....TRUTH!) We ordered at the pink pony and walked out after an hour!! Another guy was fighting for his hamburger (see pink pony review)!!!! Well, in 24 hours that (1) pic got 1,500 views. This is a place I endorse (even if the White Russian daiquiri was almost pure milk- what we call concrete.)- she did "offer" an extra shot- I was thinking why?. If you want something great near Destin, bring it on. (Aside from a Reuben at McGuires...) I am sick of places like "Louisiana _ _ _ niappe" using our good name to label their cafeteria hospice food!!!! I might get rejected and cause a bunch of trouble -for "blessed are the peacemakers"..... But it is the TRUTH.... Not NOLA, but close as can be. Look at the review of the "diner". Tourist trap diner with chicken and 1/2 a waffle for $20. You'd be "out of business".....

Time for an update!! Our favorite for all you can eat crab or shrimp!! They come with the entire fixings but you can easily make substitutes. Shrimp does not have to be fried. Grilled, blackened or sated. Try it more than one way. Daily fresh fish specials that can be cooked to your liking. Peel and eat specials happen daily. Bushwhacker are creamy and full of alcohol. Keep the souvenir cup as well. Come early to beat the dinner crowd.

Sea Food Platter

Had the sea food platter and it was very good and could not finish it. The gumbo that came with the platter I could have had for the main meal, it was fantastic. The bathroom and restaurant was clean and staff friendly and service was quick. Definitely would come back.

Decor inside

Found by Yelp- Arrived about 4pm on a Sunday in October. Came in got party of 4 seated. Notice about 4:20 folks started coming in more regularly. But 430 most tables was full of folks. Inside kinda dark and decor well kinda mixed, some beach, some Italian, some music, and some local decor. Now it behind the dollar general that near the purple octopus. Meaning no water view. I take good sea food over a sea view . Child meal, appetizer, side order of fries, all you can eat fried shrimp, all you can eat white fish ( has a $2 up charge for blacken) with waters with out tip was about $72. Staff was very nice, and food was fresh so it wasn't fast just like it should be.

Red Beans & Rice

I wasn't blown away by the catfish or tartar sauce which was disappointing. Not a ton of flavor and a little soggy. However the sides were phenomenal. Great beans with a ton of meat, almost to the point of a stew. Spot on. Great red beans and rice. Pretty cool mix of a smooth/chunky potato salad. Wish I could give it a 4 but my disappointment with the main dish keeps it at a 3. Definitely check out

I wish I could give them a negative tonight. We just left there because we could not get table service at 7 pm. We were seated in the dining area to the left up on the riser area at the last table. We received our menus and told someone would be with us but it never happened. We sat there for 15 minutes and I watched them assist the tables down the row and the waitress came to the one right behind us 4 times. I sat there and watched them seat two men after us at the opposite end of the row and a waitress assisted them immediately after I had been there 15 minutes. A gentleman cleaning the tables came to the long table behind us and I asked him if he could get someone to wait on our table and he proceeded to help us. He asked all three waitresses responsible for our section and they all said it was not their table - he said can someone just wait on the table and they acted like it was a problem so we just left. I have never had this problem before. I hope they understand that without customers they have no job.

Blackened red snapper and Mahi Mahi sautéed
Erik L.

Definitely a local vibe, which makes sense since it's been around since 1957. Definitely go for their seafood! Mikees specialties were fantastic. Mahi Mahi catch of the day sautéed was excellent. Blackened red snapper with shrimp in a seafood sauce was delicious!! Hush puppies were really good as well. It was also one of the only restaurants open after 8pm on a Monday. Glad they were open!

Oh boy where do I start, crisp sunny day we'll call it December. The cabbage was pungent, and the crab's legs had no meat. However despite those casualties the coconut shrimp was on point, marmalade literally made by paddington the freaking bear. Green beans recommended by the waitress and well let's just say she knows what's good. Dark felt like I was playing hide n seek with the workers slightly overpriced but Mikee's gotta keep the lights on (barely it was dark fr)

Great ayce lunch special. Shrimp and fish with two sides. The fried fish and shrimp were great but the blackened were exceptional. Our server was very good and the whole experience was great.

They have a counter full of ice for fresh items, coolers for premade goods, and freezers for frozen items. There is also a very easy to understand menu. We were feeding 4 teenagers and 2 adults so we decided to go with 3 of the boils. We added in crab legs to two. The crab legs are frozen so you just pick out which pack you want. You have 3 seasons to choose from, mild, medium, or Cajun. We did the medium and Cajun. We also grabbed a container of their lump crab dip and a peanut butter pie. Oh and you can't forget the garlic butter. They even warmed it up for us. I will say with everything we got we probably could have fed at least one more person. We did have one teen that wasn't fond of shrimp but she ate plenty of other things. Our meal cost us just under $200. That's just over $33 per person with dessert for 6 people. The sausage was really good. It was the main thing the kids wished we had more of, that and potatoes. They are big potato fans. I didn't think the potatoes really had a chance to soak up the flavor but if you cut them open and rubbed them around it was good. I thought overall everything was a bit salty and that's a lot coming from me. I'm the girl that salts my chocolate chip cookies. I like my salt y'all! The shrimp was a bit over cooked or something because it was extremely hard to peel but wasn't rubbery. We got the large shrimp and the headless reds. To be honest with you I couldn't really tell a difference. If I did it over again I wouldn't waste the extra money on the reds. The dip was very good. It was loaded with flavor and clumps of crab just like it should be. It did not have any shells that we came across which is a big plus in my book. The peanut butter pie was very tasty. I highly recommend it! We are already planning to stop back in when we head back down for our next wrestling tournament. You really can not beat the price for seafood in the area.

That is what my friends wanted so it's the first place I thought of to go. But their non-seafood loving teenager was thrilled the salad bar had salad and rolls and pasta salad. She was so full of that, she could only eat one of her chicken fingers. We had the oyster sampler platter. I have always loved being able to make my own cocktail sauce. Friends got the appetizer sampler with popcorn shrimp and fried pickles and one more thing i can't remember right now, but it was also a hit. My husband's grouper was huge.
