I drove two hours just to try Avenue Pub. I had never heard of the restaurant before and only discovered it through a Facebook post, but it was absolutely worth the drive. The first thing that impressed me was the ample parking. The restaurant also has a small private beach area for customers, along with a great bar area overlooking the water. The property is handicap accessible with both ramps and stairs, making it easy for everyone to enjoy. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Assistant Manager Taylor. He made me feel extremely welcome and even recommended a lunch item from the menu. I took his advice and ordered the Pork Ribeye Sandwich, and it was absolutely amazing. On the side, I had a salad with their homemade ranch dressing. Without a doubt, this is some of the best ranch dressing I have ever had. The bartender, Cody, was outstanding as well. I tried the Lime Margarita, Blackberry Mojito, and the Strawberry Basil drink. Every one of them was fantastic. You can tell this is a place that people genuinely enjoy working at. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the customers all seemed happy to be there. It's rare to find a restaurant that gets everything right, but Avenue Pub comes very close. If you're anywhere near Orange Beach, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely be back. read more

As you can see a great view to sit and enjoy a margarita or beer. Ordered the Pub Fries, not spectacular, but not bad. A huge serving, could have been a little crisper, but still tasty. Took a chance on a new spot after coming to the area for 20+ years and we were not disappointed! The location of this restaurant is great, nothing better than a restaurant on the water, the vibes were perfect! Open air seating up top and at the bottom there is a small section of beach so if you have a boat pull up and try their food! The grouper was delicious and no one was disappointed with their meal! We had a great server who was on top of everything, and super personable, shout out to Hayes! The only thing I can comment on is their menu is limited so check it out before hand! read more

This place was hopping?! Had live music playing and March madness games on. It's a smaller ( seemed more local) place but we found a seat right away. Waitress was quick and very nice. He got grouper tacos and said they were very well done. Had a great sauce on them. I had the fish and chips. The grouper was fried perfectly very tasty and not greasy at all. Sad to say this location is a cheap, beach knockoff of the Tuscaloosa original. What parts of our order they didn't screw up were mid, at best. The only thing I'd give more than a 5/10 was the fried shrimp. Which were supposed to be "muchacho", their version of bang-bang. They were plain fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. 7/10 for what it was. 2/10 for what it was supposed to be. Tuna dip was straight trash, runny, creamy mess on wilted greens, though the fried tortillas were decent. And they could mix a serviceable margarita. Yeah, you can beach your 35' center console, twin-screw 50-100' away and walk right in, kids, labradoodle and all. And they did. But why would you? Vibes, I guess? And there was money in that pub. Really enjoyed eating dinner at this on-the-water restaurant. It is a beautiful location right on the water with a few different seating options. There was live music the night we went. I ordered the grilled chicken club which was delicious. My wife and son shared shrimp tacos which they both enjoyed. The fries were excellent. Some of the best fries I have ever had. Met some friends for lunch. It's a seat yourself place we pulled a couple tables together. We stated w tuna dip and appetizer fries. The pita chips that came with tuna dip were amazing super crispy. All our food was very good. Would order it all again. This is your typical beach bar where you can pull up on your boat hangout and order food etc bar upstairs and downstairs seating in both. We are always shocked by how good the food is and how friendly all the staff is. Hays was our waiter. He was personable and we never waited for a thing. Avenue pub seems like one of the few places that doesn't overcharge you for your meal. To get into the restaurant is confusing but once you actually sit down, it's a nice outdoor setting overlooking the bay. The service is pretty solid overall. I order the grouper tacos and my fiance gets the burger. It is plenty of food and entrees could probably be split for 2 people. read more

We are locals and eat here a lot over the last year. This place has struggled in the pass with service, but I am glad to report they are doing a fantastic job now. They have hired more waiters and much friendlier staff now. Their food has always been great and great drinks. The atmosphere is perfect being right on the water with music. Their menu is limited so make sure to check it out before coming. But this is a perfect place for drinks and bar food. Also their bartender upstairs, Brandi is one of the best around. Super sweet and very friendly. They were pack today, but she took time to place a big order for me and my family. Way to go! Crispy Shrimp Tacos and Sriracha Burger are far and away the BEST items on the menu. My brother was here visiting and said the tacos were the best he had ever had. I concur as the chili lime sauce was over the top. The burger is solid as well and the beer is nice and cold. This is my new favorite beach restaurant to revisit every trip. The views are just the best! It's a two-story location with loads of outdoor seating options with most under a cover, so you don't have to worry about random showers. Some folks literally park their boats, walk up, and eat in their swimsuits. Locals and visitors seem to enjoy it here. The service was efficient if solemn. The drinks were good, the food was nice. The prices were fair. I recommend the grouper tacos! The tuna dip was excellent, but the pita chips were a bit greasy. The bushwhacker drink was exactly like a vanilla milkshake. I hate to give bad reviews, but I depend on honest reviews on Yelp to make decisions on new restaurants, especially when we are traveling. This place got great reviews so we decided to try it. The food LOOKED good. Taste wise? Hard stop. They were the worst fish and chips and fish tacos either myself or my husband have ever had. My husband is a very kind man and tries not to be critical, but he agreed the fried fish in our lunch was terrible. Super thin fish filets (grouper) that had a harsh fishy taste, like it was old. Neither of us could finish our meals. Canned beer was lukewarm. Our server was indifferent at best, never came back to check on us until time to give us the check. He asked if I wanted my fish and chips to go and I said no, that meal was inedible. He shrugged and took the food away. $66.00 for a lunch at an off the beaten path location. Horrible. The view .... The view .... The outdoor seating and of course the food is what makes this place. I can't believe this is a chain? There is one in Tuscaloosa I have never been too. While the menu is limited, each item is prepared with care. The fish and chips - with flounder- lightly fried and crispy! The chicken club sounds so boring but with the spicy honey mustard and back it was flavorful yummy! We forget this place is here since it is hidden by a marina off the back roads of orange beach. Stopped in for lunch with a view and we were not disappointed. Our server was dry attentive and friendly. My wife got the Spring Salad with Shrimp. It was a great mix of dark greens and fresh strawberries, candied walnuts, and goat cheese. I got the fish tacos-they were outstanding! Fresh, a great blast of flavors, and delicious. Avenue Pub is in the old Anchor Bar location, right on the water. Still a nice spot. I ordered the Fish and Chips which came with a load of crispy, perfectly cooked and seasoned fries along with 4 or 5 finger-size pieces of grouper, not a very good value for the $21 price. My dining partner ordered the Srirhacha Burger well done. It comes with a side and he ordered asparagus. He was pleasantly surprised that he liked the burger so much as it was topped with a strawberry reduction and goat cheese. The ASPARAGUS was actually the best thing on the table! It was perfectly tender crisp, lightly charred and seasoned beautifully. We would go back for that alone. read more
