This pub was a welcome stop for our afternoon lunch. The inside was what you would expect from an Irish pub with dim lighting and Irish themed decor. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Our food was delicious! We tried the chili, the burger, the chicken wrap, and the fish and chips. Nice sized portions that were out and freshly prepared. My husband also had a beer, which was refreshing. There is no age restriction until 9 PM so our son was able to join us for lunch. My only complaint is that the soda comes out in a small glass that needs to be refilled frequently. Not a huge deal, but just a minor annoyance. read more

I've visited this Irish bar a few times over the years and it seems to be a very popular spot in downtown Fairhope. They do serve food here and I've had better pub food and I think the burger is the best thing here. My last visit here was right before a Carnival Ball and it was VERY crowded but they still kept up with taking care of everybody. They often have live music and Irish music on Sundays. Overall I'm very motivated to return here and I have been sampling more of their food menu and enjoying some live music. read more

We had been in Fairhope for the day and were done shopping, so we looked for somewhere to watch college football on Saturday. This place was walking distance and looked like a good spot. The inside is dim lit and feels like a classic dive bar. We actually sat outside and met some friends. We only had drinks, and all the beers were good and cold. Fun place to watch football. Our waiter took care of us and didn't let us go with an empty glass in our hand. Next time we are back in the area, I want to try the food. The Irish Nachos and Fish and Chips that people around us ordered, looked very good. read more

Bartenders are always working hard but remain friendly. Stopped by for a second time on mardi gras parade day they were busy but we still didn't wait long for a drink. Clean inside. They had a lot of people on patio and were doing a good job keeping it cleaned up as well. read more

McSharry's Irish Pub - Pubs Near Me - Fairhope, Alabama

The eats here was phenomenal! We drove from Central Alabama and hands down, this is one of the best Irish pub we have been too. I love the thick cut for our Reuben. It was the best. The tortilla overpowered everything inside of the taco but the wasabi aioli and mango salsa was the good pair to go with the seared tuna. One of the server recommended Lemon drop and it was awesome. Great mix of alcohol and citrus. I do not like when it's a sweet drink. They did a great job with our meal and service. We even got to talk to the manager. You know it's authentic when your hear McSharry Irish accent. I would 100% recommend. I would come back. I forgot to take pictures of Guinness. Definitely a must try for Irish take. read more

Great food, friendly people. What's not to like. The Reuben was excellent on warm rye and plenty enough for my wonderful Hubby and I to enjoy while also looking over all of the interesting Irish paraphernalia . Friendly barkeeps, nice staff-again what's not to like? Keep up the good work Friends! read more

Awesome Irish Pub we happened upon while passing through Fairhope Al . Nice stop for good beer and makes us feel like home .

Nice place with an Irish pub feel. Food was good and service was also good. We plan to go back again.

Awful service. I was called an Azz hole for asking about the tab. I was only curious about what the items were due to the penmanship. I didn't think I was out of line but the bartender/server felt I was. It's a shame because I used to find myself having supper there often. They will not find me in that establishment again. Sad to say. read more

Where to start!! Great food...awesome atmosphere...live music...incredible customer service..all the things... I couldn't tell you if they have love music every night or just the weekends but if you can come when they do you are in for a treat! Blues with some Irish whiskey..no brainer!!! They have outside and indoor seating, with the music, why would you every sit inside? It is not too loud at all, just the right amount to get your toe tapping! I was able to hold a conversation and listen to the music. They also have dart boards for your gaming pleasure. You can order from a window if you are outside but the wait staff is on top of it. We ordered: Bangers and mash The Ruban Fish and chips Tavern burger Shepards Pie Bread Pudding We got everything togo so the pictures don't do any of the items justice!!! I can't rave enough! If you don't stop and at least get an Irish Coffee you are missing out!! read more

I understand many food establishments are shorthanded but for the 2nd time we have came in am not been greeted or attended to even after walking up to the bar. In fact the bartender completely ignored us and helped someone that came in after us. We would have been fine with a "I'll be right with you" but ignoring guests is not acceptable. read more

Gone downhill. I asked the "bartender" what he recommends for something similar to blue moon and he served us something absolutely the worst beer I have ever put against my lips. My girlfriend goes up and asks for another beer to replace it. His response was "I already poured it." Mcsharry's seems desperate now. Used to come here quite a bit. Oh well, there's more places around read more

The food was really good my wife got the Shepard pie and loved it! I had the bangers and mash which was good ( not my favorite version, but still good). Worst service I've ever had. Bartender poured my beer out right in front of my face. She got mad cause I wanted to pay for the second round with a card but she snatched up my buddy's cash instead. She said "cash is king" and wouldn't take my card. I have to rate below in order to post, but if there were negative stars below I'd click the minus button forever! This place sucks! read more

I love going to McSharry's. It is always my last stop after a day of sightseeing and drinking beer in Fairhope Alabama. It's a great place for a nightcap. Sometimes they have live music playing on the patio which is really cool too. I can't speak to the food, because I have never ordered any from this place. But they do pour a good Guinness beer and the atmosphere is the best in town. I always enjoy seeing the locals stop by. It seems like a lot of locals come to have a beer after their shift. And who could forget Nick and Tracy's wedding, where we just happen to end up at McSharrys to party with all their crew. I wonder where they are now. For the record, we were not there for Nick and Tracy's wedding but we couldn't help but continue to run into them while we were in town. Anyway, I always look forward to going to this place and I hope that you will check it out too. Let me know how the food is. read more

McSharry's Irish Pub - Fish and chips - Pubs Near Me - Fairhope, Alabama

McSharry's is a wonderful, traditional Irish pub tucked away in downtown Fairhope. It has an outside patio that features live music and just a nice overall atmosphere. Ronan is very gracious and is an authentic Irishman....no wonder this place is so great! They have a nice selection of beer...which is the essential ingredient in an Irish Pub. But more importantly, McSharry's is actually one of the best Irish restaurants that I have ever eaten at anywhere. Seriously. Their Shepard's Pie is the best that I have ever eaten. And trust me folks, I have eaten this dish many times at many, many Irish Pubs. This is the hands down the best recipe. And if you want any to share, I suggest the Shepard's pie nachos. Great burgers and chicken are also staples on the menu. So, great atmosphere, great Irish pub grub and a nice selection of adult beverages. What more is there??? read more

I am still at a 4 star rating. Well my wife and I went back again like I said we would. Service was very good, albeit we went mid afternoon and we sat inside this time. I love the decor. Looks like a real Irish pub since the owner is from Ireland and I truly look forward to meeting him in person one day. The whole place is cool to me, with many beers on tap and the bartender recognizing the locals which I feel is important. We got the fish and chips. I loved them myself, more fish and less batter and again I love the crinkle cut fries. Slaw is good but would like a little more. My wife said it was ok for her, but hey, to each his own. We like it overall and will be back. I did want to ask about all the mugs having over the bar but we ran out of time and h read more

McSharry's Irish Pub - Fish and Chips - Pubs Near Me - Fairhope, Alabama

Just passing through ... McSharry's strikes me a local dive bar but with decent food. It's not very big inside although there is patio seating. Based on the reviews, I was expecting a more extensive menu, but they only offer various pub appetizers/starters and a selection of sandwiches mostly. Shepherd's pie and fish & chips, of course. I went with a reuben with potato salad on the side. The potato salad was recommended by reviews and well it should be. Reuben also did not disappoint - nice, big chunks of tasty corned beef. read more

It wasn't the best, but wasn't bad. The fries are deeply depressing- it's the same crinkly type that can be bought in the frozen aisle in your local grocery store- and they have the same starchy dryness as those. The shepherds pie really was good. read more

Cool bar, but after ordering my second drink of the night a bartender tried to shame me for not tipping saying that I would be refused service in the future. Super rude with the way she said it as well. Would have been no problem if she had reminded me to tip nicely, but Ieft pissed off because she said it like she deserved some of my paycheck because she cracked my beer. Will come back but will avoid this bartender. read more

Great Irish pub. Good selection of food and beer. Late at night it gets crowded. Lots of alcohol choices. Nice patio, too.

We've been to McSharry's a couple of times. It feels homey, because it reminds me of a little pub back home that was my go-to place. We started with the wings, which are tasty but messy. I had sauce all over my face and had to wipe it off with my arm like a 3 year old because I also had sauce all over my hands. I ordered the fish and chips, and they were the real deal, made with haddock. Obviously that's not a locally caught fish, but fish and chips wouldn't be authentic if it was made using grouper. They served it with a malt vinegar aioli and it was delicious. My hubs ordered a Reuben and it was amazing! They roast the corned beef there and it's roasted to sheer perfection. The beer menu is pretty long, and they have a nice little selection of alcohol behind the bar. The place has a nice vibe to it, with dark wood and several windows and the usual bar decor. They also have a nice sized patio outside. The serve is good and the prices are average. After trying that Reuben, I'm sure we'll be eating there more often. read more

The small nachos are large with tender steak, jalapeños and peas(yes peas) a first for me. Haddock fried sandwich had lightly Guinness battered fish. Crunchy and light, fries not eventful until you dip them in the mayo/malt vinegar mix ( this elevated the fries). Tenderloin wrap, tender, spicey mayo was not too spicy. (Husband can't have spicey and he loved it). The waitstaff is a little slow. Not a family oriented place. No kids menu. But they will not turn a family with children away. Recommend to lunch if children involved. read more
