We had been in Fairhope for the day and were done shopping, so we looked for somewhere to watch college football on Saturday. This place was walking distance and looked like a good spot. The inside is dim lit and feels like a classic dive bar. We actually sat outside and met some friends. We only had drinks, and all the beers were good and cold. Fun place to watch football. Our waiter took care of us and didn't let us go with an empty glass in our hand. Next time we are back in the area, I want to try the food. I've visited this Irish bar a few times over the years and it seems to be a very popular spot in downtown Fairhope. They do serve food here but I've not yet had the opportunity to sample the cuisine here but what I saw did look good. My last visit here was right before a Carnival Ball and it was VERY crowded but they still kept up with taking care of everybody. Overall I'm very motivated to return here and finally sample their food and enjoy some live music. read more

The eats here was phenomenal! We drove from Central Alabama and hands down, this is one of the best Irish pub we have been too. I love the thick cut for our Reuben. It was the best. The tortilla overpowered everything inside of the taco but the wasabi aioli and mango salsa was the good pair to go with the seared tuna. One of the server recommended Lemon drop and it was awesome. Great mix of alcohol and citrus. I do not like when it's a sweet drink. They did a great job with our meal and service. We even got to talk to the manager. I understand many food establishments are shorthanded but for the 2nd time we have came in am not been greeted or attended to even after walking up to the bar. I couldn't tell you if they have love music every night or just the weekends but if you can come when they do you are in for a treat! Blues with some Irish whiskey..no brainer!!! They have outside and indoor seating, with the music, why would you every sit inside? It is not too loud at all, just the right amount to get your toe tapping! I was able to hold a conversation and listen to the music. They also have dart boards for your gaming pleasure. You can order from a window if you are outside but the wait staff is on top of it. Very small interior with more seating outdoors than in. Comfortable bar, and lots of traditional comfort food. I had the fish and chips, which were served with an awesome dip of vinegar and mayo. I love going to McSharry's. It is always my last stop after a day of sightseeing and drinking beer in Fairhope Alabama. It's a great place for a nightcap. Sometimes they have live music playing on the patio which is really cool too. I can't speak to the food, because I have never ordered any from this place. But they do pour a good Guinness beer and the atmosphere is the best in town. I always enjoy seeing the locals stop by. It seems like a lot of locals come to have a beer after their shift. And who could forget Nick and Tracy's wedding, where we just happen to end up at McSharrys to party with all their crew. I wonder where they are now. For the record, we were not there for Nick and Tracy's wedding but we couldn't help but continue to run into them while we were in town. Looks like a real Irish pub since the owner is from Ireland and I truly look forward to meeting him in person one day. McSharry's is a wonderful, traditional Irish pub tucked away in downtown Fairhope. It has an outside patio that features live music and just a nice overall atmosphere. Ronan is very gracious and is an authentic Irishman....no wonder this place is so great! They have a nice selection of beer...which is the essential ingredient in an Irish Pub. But more importantly, McSharry's is actually one of the best Irish restaurants that I have ever eaten at anywhere. Seriously. Their Shepard's Pie is the best that I have ever eaten. Based on the reviews, I was expecting a more extensive menu, but they only offer various pub appetizers/starters and a selection of sandwiches mostly. Shepherd's pie and fish & chips, of course. Super rude with the way she said it as well. Would have been no problem if she had reminded me to tip nicely, but Ieft pissed off because she said it like she deserved some of my paycheck because she cracked my beer. We've been to McSharry's a couple of times. It feels homey, because it reminds me of a little pub back home that was my go-to place. We started with the wings, which are tasty but messy. I had sauce all over my face and had to wipe it off with my arm like a 3 year old because I also had sauce all over my hands. I ordered the fish and chips, and they were the real deal, made with haddock. Obviously that's not a locally caught fish, but fish and chips wouldn't be authentic if it was made using grouper. They served it with a malt vinegar aioli and it was delicious. My hubs ordered a Reuben and it was amazing! They roast the corned beef there and it's roasted to sheer perfection. The beer menu is pretty long, and they have a nice little selection of alcohol behind the bar. The place has a nice vibe to it, with dark wood and several windows and the usual bar decor. They also have a nice sized patio outside. The serve is good and the prices are average. After trying that Reuben, I'm sure we'll be eating there more often. read more

While visiting Fairhope, we stopped in to McSharry's for "Dunch". Place was super quiet at 3 pm, which suited us well after an otherwise stressful day. Our waitress was a delight; friendly and very upbeat. I'm a hardcore Shepherds Pie fanatic and have tried the dish many places. This was The Best Shepherds Pie I've ever had, hand down. I even tried to get their recipe (that was a no-go) ;). My husband had the Fish and Chips and was very impressed by the flaky, tender quality of the fish which was perfectly breaded. His meal came with an aioli, which I think was a malt vinegar aioli. It was so delicious. We could literally eat that every day. We highly recommend McSharry's and will definitely be back when we're in town. read more

The small nachos are large with tender steak, jalapeños and peas(yes peas) a first for me. Haddock fried sandwich had lightly Guinness battered fish. Crunchy and light, fries not eventful until you dip them in the mayo/malt vinegar mix ( this elevated the fries). Tenderloin wrap, tender, spicey mayo was not too spicy. (Husband can't have spicey and he loved it). The waitstaff is a little slow. Not a family oriented place. No kids menu. But they will not turn a family with children away. So, let me start off by saying that we tried to have this place for my mother's birthday dinner in January, but we decided against it because the hostess was literally the worst hostess that I've had to interacted with in a while (and this is coming from a previous host/server). She was extremely rude, and complained that we didn't know the menu, when in fact the only reason we didn't know the menu, come to find out tonight, was because the online menu is wrong! They know this, and for at least three months have neglected this fact, and have not bothered to change it. But whatever. We could deal with a wrong menu again tonight. So we ordered the fish and chips, the chicken wrap, a side of fries, and the shepherds pie, and when we got there the bill came to about $60! Wondering where this dollar amount came from, we also discovered that the online menu's pricing is wrong, not just the food options. Now I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure if you are willfully neglecting fixing an issue like this it becomes false advertising. Because the shepherds pie alone was priced at $10.95 and came out to $13.95. Not only was the pricing way off, the portions were awful! Our side of fries was $4.95, and didn't even cover the bottom of the box! The shepherd's pie and the fish and chips were also not good portions for their price. Now the only thing I can say for their food is the shepherds pie did taste good, but not so much better than my own MIL's The fish and chips, according to my father, were salty and fishy, and the breading was not what you would expect from an Irish pub.
