Firecracker shrimp taco
Ashu M.

Great little spot with a variety of food choices to please every possible palette. We went in as a group of 8 with vegan and vegetarian diets and everyone had something to choose from. The tacos are 7 dollars each and have varied choices like firecracker shrimp, king pao chicken and brisket. They have salads and vegan/vegetarian bowls along with kungpao and firecracker shrimp bowls with rice and noodles. Their turnip fries were a let down - very oily crust with a soggy turnip inside. Not well done at all. Beer and wine were also available along with mock tails. Overall, a small town vibe but a worldwide fusion menu.

Eclectic Asian taco / fusion restaurant. The space has a cool vibe. Plenty of space. Service is quick and attentive. They were willing to make substitutions to the items on their entrees. I had the blackened ribeye tacos and substituted the spicy dill aoli. Beef was tender and full of flavor. They have a regular menu and a handful of daily specials.

Dragonfly Foodbar has a rich history in Fairhope, AL! It first opened in September 2010, and after 13 years of business in downtown Fairhope, the owners, Doug and Brie Kerr, decided to move the restaurant to a new location on South Section Street. Dragonfly Foodbar is known for its unique tapas, Asian-inspired dishes, and funky tacos. They also have a new location, Dragonfly Tavern, in Daphne, AL. This funky restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its fusion of Mexican and Asian flavors. They're well-known for their tacos, salads, rice, and noodle bowls, each dish boasting a creative twist. Some menu items can be quite spicy, so don't hesitate to ask your server for recommendations if you're sensitive to heat. They also offer vegetarian, vegan, and kids' options, ensuring there's something for everyone. And, let's not forget their impressive selection of seasonal craft beers and creative cocktails! On our recent visit, we started with the pork Pork Skins and Queso, which is not something I would normally order, but my honey thought it sounded interesting. They were indeed quite good and went well with my craft beer :-) For entrees, I went with the Spicy Shrimp bowl with Fried Basmati Rice, Mushroom, Dill, Jalapeno, and Fried Egg which was very tasty. She had the Spicy Red Curry Coconut Chicken bowl which is Chicken, Jalapeno, Edamame, Asian Pesto, and Udon Noodles which was quite good. Bottom line: The service was excellent, the food was reasonably priced and tasty, and overall was a pleasant dining experience, we'll return. Recommended!! This was one of the worst meals we have ever had. We ordered the smash burger, which is "chefs choice" each night and how could we go wrong?? The sauce on it was one of the worst things I have ever tasted. Could not eat any of the burger, not to mention half was burnt but the inside was a little raw. The wings use to be a go to on every order dine in or carry out. I am not sure what changed but the wings were so fragile that tiny pieces of bone were breaking off and seemed a little scary to eat. Also, who changed the sauce? It is not near as good. Both went in the trash. We also ordered an oyster taco but by the time we had tried the wings and burger we were over it. Very sad especially since this was our first time having Dragonfly since they moved. Order placed for CO 9/10. The lady who took our order was extremely sweet.

The flavors never disappoint. My waitress tonight was so great. I sat on the patio and she never forgot me outside.

I was so blown away (and not because hurricane Helene was passing close by)! I'm staying at a nearby resort, and the food here is far and away better (and it costs less)! It's some of the best food I've ever had, and now I'm sad because there isn't one near me. You can taste the fresh ingredients, and the balance of flavors is just perfect! That goes for the drinks too! This place deserves awards, but also, I want it to stay a little undiscovered and accessible . BUT IT SHOULD HAVE ALL THE AWARDS! I need to go back and eat my way through the menu.

My mom and I had a wonderful dinner tonight at Dragonfly. It's my all time favorite restaurant, I used to come here on a weekly basis when I lived in town. This was our first time trying their new location on Section St and it didn't disappoint. Same awesome food as always but more parking! The service was great and it was both family friendly as well being a good place to grab a drink with friends. I got to try one of Fairhope Brewing's beers, Blue Steel, which I looooved. We started with some tempura turnip fries (whoops I ate like half of them before I took a picture). Then I had a wood grilled wreckfish taco and the king pao chicken bowl as my entree (yes they have a wood-fired grill now). My mom ordered the coconut curry bowl as her entree. Then for dessert I got the mango quesadilla. It was all delicious! So happy I got to give my all time favorite restaurants new location a visit while I was in town.

The food and drinks have always been delicious here but it's a bit pricey for tacos but definitely worth it. My fave is the oyster tacos.

If you saw what runs around the floor in the kitchen, you'd never eat another over priced taco there again!

Surprisingly good curry! The description of Mexican/Thai fusion threw me but it's just good, spicy Thai.

However, were we're very pleasantly surprised to find that the new ownership, a Jamaican woman is also gluten free and fully intends to expand GF options to include GF onion rings on the appetizer list. She is currently deciding which menu items will be replaced with more requested items. The new owner is a friendly, warm person with a feel for greeting and making diners feel welcome. We were greatly relieved that she has great Jamaican recipes that will add to the otherwise seafood specialties. My wife has been GF for several years and has been unable to enjoy most fried foods including seafood due to wheat flour. However, we were able to enjoy a wonderful GF fried seafood platter and only the hush puppies were not GF. We also had the delicious crab bisque that is also GF. I am fortunate to NOT be allergic to anything so I was treated to a delicious chocolate truffle that is absolutely the best. This delicacy will soon be available GF. If you are looking for a coastal restaurant with GF options in the Mobile or Daphne causeway area, you should try the Elite Pierhouse restaurant. You won't be dissatisfied. Great food, spectacular views and really good service with moderate prices. Not fast food, but really great southern seafood with Jamaican flare.

When you enter, there is a bar and tables in the main dining room and another few tables in the back. The patio allows pets and it has tables and umbrellas. It just feels like you are in for an amazing meal. The menus are on QR codes instead of the chalkboards that were a staple at one point. Anyway, Dragonfly has a cool vibe when you walk into the restaurant. I ordered the vegetable bowl with duck added for protein. Absolutely amazing!!! One of the best dishes that you will eat on the Eastern Shore. We also ordered the Kung Pao Chicken tacos that were fantastic!!! The service was point point, and pair that with extraordinary food and a relaxing ambiance, you get an amazing culinary experience!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The atmosphere is very sports bar esk so don't expect the glam and glitz of a high end stop. We ended up getting the Steak Taco (singular not multiple please note) which was a surprise for the $10 price tag - one taco ? We also opted for the steak on a stick appetizer, this time 2 small portions, you guessed it $10. I am sure this spot will appeal to the financially stable crowd but we found the portions to be small and prices to be large (in comparison). The quality of the food was good, not great. For the premium price we would expect high end taste. At the end of the day, a definate no repeat for us - onward and upward.

Where do I even begin?…read more We had our wedding at Garden & Grain this weekend and it was absolutely flawless. I have to start with the most important parts of our day which were Cara & Jadyn, our event coordinators and Nick & Jesse, our bartenders. Cara and Jadyn were literal earth-movers and magic makers. These two helped us get everything decorated and torn down with absolute ease (and we had an awful lot of decor we brought in.) By the time we moved into the ceremony, Jadyn was everywhere ensuring we started when we were ready, the guests were ready for us to enter, and just made us feel so at ease. We heard from so many guests that they didn't even realize the chairs got moved from the garden into the grainhouse between because it was so fast and flawlessly executed. These folks were so stealthy bringing 75 chairs between different spaces. Bravo. Our caterer was just arriving as we were about the walk the aisle. We had no idea the chaos that was ensuing behind the scenes that Jadyn and the team worked out as quickly as possible and without our guests even recognizing there was a delay in the start time of the food service. Obviously catering is a huge part of the day, and it would have been so stressful had we realized they were 30+ minutes behind. The execution of our wedding could not have happened flat out without these two wonderful people. We are so grateful for you both, Cara and Jadyn. You deserve all the praise in the world and are absolutely amazing event coordinators. Oh, and Jadyn, thanks for never letting us have a drink less than half full - your impeccable attention to detail is what every event coordinator should strive for. Now, the other critical aspect to a wedding is bar service. Nick and Jesse had those drinks flowing non stop all night. There was never a guest waiting in line or without a drink from before the ceremony to last moments. Our guests were complimenting all night on how amazing the bar service was. We are a family with one side from New Orleans, we know how to party and going into it with 2 bartenders for 75 people who know how to have a good time was an anxiety for us, but there was not a single mishap in the bar service and we couldn't have asked for a better experience for our guests or us. Not to mention, every time I looked at Nick or Jesse, they were both smiling and so happy to be there with us - it meant a lot to feel like your vendors were a part of your wedding. The space lent itself so naturally to our ceremony and reception. It was beautiful, cozy, clean, and just 100% our vibe. Our guests also complimented all night on what a cool venue we had. If you're thinking about booking an event, particularly a wedding here, don't hesitate. There's not a dang thing I would change about Garden & Grain, Perfect Plain and the people they had assisting us and our guests throughout the event. Being able to look back and see how smoothly things ran is every Bride's dream, and without a doubt you will have the same experience that we did here. Thank you G & G/Perfect Plain/Perennial Hospitality for the amazing experience on our wedding date. You have no idea what this meant to us. It means even more to feel that you guys actually enjoyed being there with us. Pat yourselves on the back and know that you are shining examples of what a wedding venue is supposed to operate like. Cheers to you guys, thank you once again for everything!
