The tortillas are 5+ stars. The fresh corn tortillas are just spot on. Perfect thickness, and coming off the flattop with some meaty goodness inside, perfect. Tried the carne asada and chorizo tacos. Both were really good but just a little too much salt. Counter service was prompt and friendly when I placed my order to go. The dining space inside is much bigger than what I anticipated walking up to the door and the space was clean and inviting. Their house made hot sauce for the tacos was excellent as well. read more

Must tries are the Breakfast Menu with Huevos Rancheros with green tomatillo sauce, Horchata is better than I've ever had in Mexico, and corn tortillas, chocolate flan and Oaxaca cheese is sold in the store next door, along with about 15 types of dried peppers for cooking and large variety of cheeses and mexican imported cookies and candies and drink mixes. THE best authentic Mexican restaurant! Small and off beaten path with a small menu. Small is not bad, to me, it means they perfect what they offer and they do! Ate here on Saturday after attending the Blacksmith Experience a few feet away. The Saturday menu is more limited. You grab a table and the will come to you so you can place an order. Servers were polite & do speak English as well as Spanish. My son & I had the plate of tacos with a 1/2 stack of tortillas (about 15). You order the meat [son had birria (beef), I had carnitas (pork)- technically a 1/2 and 1/2 plate] and they bring out a platter of fixings which included the following: two sauces which were Spicy hot and even spicier hot, cilantro, pico de gallo, raw onions and some pickled veggies (onions, carrots, cauliflower). I don't like cauliflower but I liked the pickled veggies and wish I could replicate them at home. We both had canned drinks. Mine was Guanábana (sour sop juice) & my son had Horchata. This was a yummy food experience and I just might drive back the hour on a different day for lunch again. We left full & happy. Women's bathroom was brightly lit & clean. read more

My husband and I have been here a total of 4 times. The first time, the sold out of food. It was the strawberry festival so we figured we would come back another day. And we did. The street tacos were simply amazing. We ordered the Chicharrones street tacos and they were delicious. Crunchy, little bit of spice with minced onions and cilantro served on a corn tortilla. The menu said it came with a "side" of chips and salsa. 4 chips and sauce in a bottle isn't a side. More like a taste. Tacos were done to perfection. Same experience the second time with a super friendly waitress. We played this place up so much that my brother wanted to try them. My husband and my brother went and brought me home what they ordered through my recommendation. I've never been so embarrassed. What we were served was literally fat that was not fried or crunchy it was inedible fat. I had 4 chips on my order. I threw it away. For a place that we had planned to make our weekly stop, there is no way I would consider going again. Oh and please bring your own bottle opener if you order a coke. Might as well, as my husband asked her to open the drink and she brought him a bottle opener and walked away. read more

Let me tell you. This is one of the best Mexican food I have ever had. They have the best little homemade corn tortillas I have ever had. All their tortilla fillings are yummy. They put lots of filling in each tortilla along with cilantro, onion and Lime. They have spicy and green salsa. I love both on each taco. Hope you go. I'm sure you will love it. The service was exceptional! Our server was incredibly sweet and on top of her tables, she was from Wisconsin and I can't remember her name. The restaurant was adorable with booths and tables. The restaurant itself is a hidden gem, we just happened to see it by chance. Their menu is a few items with beef or pork carnitas, they were out of some things but we had the carnitas with pork and beef and I had one soft taco of beef and my hubs had 2 with beef and pork. They bring out this lovely tray of sauces, chopped onions, cilantro, and peppers, with some lime in the center. The soft tacos were on very delicious tortillas and very thin so they doubled them up with 2. There was so much meat in them that we separated the tortillas and put the excess meat on it making another. Delicious!!! There wasn't sides or at least that we saw, it was ok we were full!! We paid at the counter and purchased some homemade tortillas to go that they conveniently place at register. They have a store next door and we purchased some poblano peppers and a beautiful big fruit cup. That fruit cup was so fresh and it was comprised of watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe, and pineapple. read more
