I can't believe that I'm just now leaving a review for Dragonfly Tavern. We have eaten here dozens of times, and it never disappoints. When you enter, there is a bar and tables in the main dining room and another few tables in the back. The patio allows pets and it has tables and umbrellas. It just feels like you are in for an amazing meal. The menus are on QR codes instead of the chalkboards that were a staple at one point. Anyway, Dragonfly has a cool vibe when you walk into the restaurant. I ordered the vegetable bowl with duck added for protein. Absolutely amazing!!! One of the best dishes that you will eat on the Eastern Shore. We also ordered the Kung Pao Chicken tacos that were fantastic!!! This spot was on our newcomers list for a time so we dropped in for a lunch test run. Self seating and good attentive service by the waitstaff. The atmosphere is very sports bar esk so don't expect the glam and glitz of a high end stop. We ended up getting the Steak Taco (singular not multiple please note) which was a surprise for the $10 price tag - one taco ? We also opted for the steak on a stick appetizer, this time 2 small portions, you guessed it $10. I am sure this spot will appeal to the financially stable crowd but we found the portions to be small and prices to be large (in comparison). The quality of the food was good, not great. For the premium price we would expect high end taste. At the end of the day, a definate no repeat for us - onward and upward. read more

I'm in Alabama at least 3 times a month sometimes. And when I'm close to here I always come to get food. The band that I'm in went here during the 2025 SEC Championship game and it wasn't busy at all. The bartenders and servers are all very nice and welcoming. We had a pretty large party but they took our drink and food orders and had the food out within 20 minutes. It's a very local feel to the place, which adds to its charm. I ordered the spicy red curry coconut chicken bowl, a great fit for the colder weather that day. And I also ordered the cheesecake they had which was the only thing I could get a picture of because I was so hungry. A must if you're in the area. read more

The service was good so no complaints there. The atmosphere is definitely strange since it's a weird mesh of different styles. The food is drastically overpriced. It is good tasting food, but there isn't anything like a "meal" with a side and drink. The duck taco was my favorite. It was sweet and delicious. The pork taco was good too, but not as good as the duck. My mom got the pork soup, it was a little bit spicy but not too spicy. She is gluten free and they were able to substitute the noodles for gluten free glass noodles. The soup was huge and we had leftovers for two meals when we got home. The service was good, but they were very busy so it took a while. We went for lunch and watched the auburn game there. Good ambiance for a gameday. We were nervous that we would have to wait for a table on a beautiful Saturday but they had so many tables that we were seated right away. read more

Good folks of Daphne, have you been to this fine establishment? These local folks are doing something special over here! When you walk in, you get this neighborhood tavern/bar vibe, but the food here is out of control good. Someone carefully selected a nice well crafted wine list, unique craft cocktails and an extensive beer list are available here. The menu features an unique offering of tacos and broth and rice bowls. I had the steak taco and an oyster taco. Both were two of the better tacos I've ever eaten. The steak taco was overfilled with a delightful diced steak and the oyster taco, oh my, what a sublime delight. The chrispy, velvety fried oyster is beautifully complimented with a tangy slaw. I must say, that oyster taco as simple as it was, was one of the best things I've ever eaten; and folks, I've eaten a lot. My wife had a curry chicken noodle bowl. I've never been a big curry fan, I spent 8 weeks in India in my youth, but this dish was fabulous. I really can't over compliment the food here. Our server was very kind and welcoming. The food and drinks here are so, so, so delicious! The last bowl I had wasn't so great, as if the basmati rice had been burnt so the entire bowl tasted burnt. But this last visit, my bowl was superb! Before I had the Elizabeth Swann drink, and last night I had the Four Sheets cocktail and just a rum + sprite cocktail. Both were delicious! The tacos I had before were so good, and I look forward to coming back to try more/different ones. My friends loved their Spicy Curry Coconut bowls. Really had a positive experience in every aspect Saturday night. When we arrived about 6:00pm we were pleasantly greeted and told to choose any table we'd like. Server greeted us quickly and with a nice smile. Ordered a beer and a dirty/dry martini. Only criticism of the evening was the martini. Had to return as it was made wrong but came back correct and delicious. Started with the duck wontons. Special note here, if they are on the special board ORDER them, they are really delicious. Entrees were a noodle bowl and a couple tacos. The pork noodle bowl was over the top good as was the steak and braised pork tacos. Seems as though it's really difficult to find a dining experience that is delicious, hospitable and doesn't dent your wallet to badly. Dragonfly gave us all of the above and at a reasonable price! Heard great things about this place, but was not expecting Asian fusion taco cuisine. The cocktails for the Fall/Winter 2023 season were Alice in Wonderland themed. Everything I tried was extremely good! For the drink I had the Alice. Also, tried the turnip fries for the appetizer. Then the Main Street taco (beef) and shrimp taco. So delicious! There was a specials menu that listed other tacos and they had gelato and cheesecake. I didn't have time to try it but I'm sure I would have loved the pumpkin spice gelato. So Good...was new to town and tried as my first definitely not my last. Will be back....already have my next order ready.

I've now lived in Alabama for over 2 years. I love it here. I love just about every aspect of the Southern culture when it comes to our country. But.. And this is a BIG ol' BUT... Food culture is non-existent here. People are either not truly well-traveled or really stick to nothing but fried (chicken or seafood) and/or poor attempts at cross-cultural fusion food. We have to go to Pensacola to barely fit the bill of a less finite food experience. Dragonfly Foodbar and with a most recently, retry at Tavern have greatly disappointed and I have no idea how anybody believes this is even close to "gourmet" anything. These aren't tacos with well crafted ingredients. These are overpriced, mid level ingredients brought together under the guise of "fusion." Now, all harshness aside, you don't know what you don't know. I came from a place where food culture is a way of life. Food like this would be worth more than the bill and you would know the each item was handcrafted - an actual freshly made tortilla, to sauces and seasonings made in house, not commerically jarred or canned nonsense. Unforunately, getting taxed to death or constantly facing cime is also a way of life, so we left! Now, back to the harshness. Until something changes, people will probably assume overcooked duck with a terrible bottled sauce (I know low grade v. hand crafted). Exotic "Roasted Pork" Udon Noodles with overcooked pork and noodles that are soggy liguini instead of actual thick spongy udon, that is so underwhelming I was embarrassed to eat it. And last, but not least, Kung Pao Chicken with "fried" basmati rice. Thank you, but no. More like dried rice, and Kung Pao Chicken that tastes more like jarred pseudo asian chili sauce coating is just not that. Service is good, hence two stars. Most of the nicer establishments around town work to ensure quality of service is on point, so I'll give them that. But, a great smile and attitude just can't replace the disappointment of such an over hyped "fusion" meal. read more

First timer & I must say I'll be back for sure! The cocktails were not only beautiful, but they were refreshing. Each taco had a very unique taste and were extremely flavorful. The outside and inside of this place looks amazing. This place would be a great bar, but not so much a restaurant. I started with pork skins and queso and after the first bite regretted it. The pork skins are from a bag and warmed up. The queso had a little kick to it and was tasty but once you added them together it was just a mouth full of sticky mess. The menu is a mix of tacos and a Asian style bowls which didn't make a lot of sense. I had a Kung Po Chicken taco that had a really good spicy peanut sauce but the chicken was very dry and over cooked. I also had a firecracker shrimp taco and that was the biggest disappointment of the meal. There were only two small shrimp on my taco, there was too much of the firecracker sauce, and the shrimp had the strongest iodine fishy taste I have had in a very long time. Plus each taco was about $6 each. There wells a couple good things, but in no way was it worth the money and all the bad things. read more
