We chose Taco Mama in Daphne as the venue for our wedding reception, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made! A party of 30-35 people all still in full wedding attire flooded in around the same time, and the staff handled everything with incredible grace and expertise. Not a single order was messed up, and every guest was taken care of beautifully. The team that night Noel, Bella, Natalie, Sadie, and Brigs was outstanding. They truly felt like a local extension of our family. Beyond serving delicious tacos and making sure everyone was happy, they went above and beyond: signing our wedding cards with the sweetest, most thoughtful notes, and even snapping photos of the wedding party to capture those special moments. It was truly phenomenal and made the night even more memorable. We've loved Taco Mama for years and have never had a bad experience here. If there's ever been the tiniest issue (which is rare), the managers and team are immaculately on point in rectifying it right away. Brigs and the other managers worked out all the logistics with us ahead of time, making the whole planning process smooth and stress-free. If you're looking for fresh, tasty food in a fun atmosphere or need a spot that can handle a big group like a wedding party with warmth and professionalism Taco Mama Daphne is the place. We can't recommend them enough! Thank you to the entire team for making our special night unforgettable. read more

Staff was attentive and ever so helpful with my son's birthday dinner. We ordered 2 of the family meals and from start to finish it took maybe 10 minutes. We ordered in store and could not ask for a better experience. We love Taco Mama! read more

New to the area so we have been checking out several of the local eateries to find our go to spots. We tired Taco Mamas based on the online reviews and our love for Mexican food. Coming from Tucson the bar is set a bit high but we came in with hopeful expectations. Our approach was to try a couple of go to items, barbacoa and steak bowls with a few of the extras. We decided to put a few on the free adds on the side so we could manage the taste as we discovered the plus and minus of them. All in all here were our likes and dislikes - Likes - Nice atmosphere, clean and welcoming Easy to find and good parking Lots of choices on their menu for across the board options Dislikes - The products we recieved were heavy on sodium, could not finish The steak was thin cut and not overly generous Most of the sides were OK but not game winners Generally speaking the sides were average We were underwhelmed, price was reasonable, portions were AA but the taste was a game breaker - no go. Sadly we will not return and will continue our search for a go spots in the Daphne and Fairhope areas. read more

I have to redo my prior review. I had a get together at this location today and got to try the food. The sizzler was so good, perfect steak! Thequesto is nice, not too heavy or clumpy. I only gave it 4 stars based on the cost. I get small businesses but eating here regularly would be expensive. read more

We just left this location. Get home and all we got was chips! We ordered a burrito and they didn't put it on the bag.

Average food and watered down drinks. Definitely not authentic street tacos. Margaritas were definitely watered down.

Food was great, vegetarian options are very nice. Service was awesome, helped us with the menu and ordering Very fun decor and people Nice music We arrived late and never felt rushed Thanks read more

THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!! And the service was AMAZING!!! We stopped in just before close and were so grateful to find something so good so late! We had been on the road so many hours! Everyone was so sweet & so helpful! Would definitely recommend! read more

The Hippie Grilled Flounder burrito was delicious, plenty big & full of flavor! Will definitely do again!!

Outstanding experience! I have been to Taco Mama in the Birmingham area numerous times, and it's always good. But the Daphne location was the best Taco Mama I have had!! It was so fresh, the portions were gigantic, and it tasted so good! The toppings were so generous and it just was a great dinner. I figured it would be good, it it really exceeded my expectations! The service was fast, but time taken to freshly prepare it, and very friendly! The environment was very clean and the outdoor seating area was great. read more

This place was great! Awesome food, fast service, and a friendly staff who checked on us regularly. I definitely would go back. The tacos are well made and they have a variety of different choices. Delicious! read more

We ordered a chicken burrito bowl and The Judge burrito to go. Between walking in and ordering and the order being brought to me was less than 10 min. The portions are HUGE! The flavors are all wonderful. We loved it and are glad we chose it for lunch while in Daphne. read more

It was the worst Mexican food I ever had . Service was very good and helpful. Ambiance was okay. Tables were sticky. I watch how they clean the tables they didn't take a little tub of cleaning and water . They took the same rag to wash many tables without washing it out . We check 3 different tables and they were sticky . Then started to eat simple tacos and Street corn was the worst tasting that I've ever had. Then found someone beard hair on my chips. That's is the last time I ever go there . I have lived in Mexico for a few years and I eat in restaurant that had old wooden floors that had better food and cleaner tables and the back help was cleaner looking and their hair covered up even their face hair. Well not refer anyone there i will discourage anyone from going there . We will never ever go there again. Id be better off going to taco bell and that's not saying alot because taco bell isn't the best. read more

I carried my 5-lb dog (he did not walk) inside briefly just to order at the counter, planning to sit outside on the patio. I now understand their no-dogs-inside policy, but since ordering can only be done at the counter, I was confused about how else to place my order. I was told to wait outside and had a friend order for me instead. Later, a different employee told my friend that I had an "attitude problem," which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Disappointing experience with the way the situation was handled. read more

Recently switched to a vegan diet, so haven't been going out as much. Tried this place while in the area and glad we did. I ordered the Treehugger Burrito and it was AMAZING and HUGE! Ok what a fun place to eat, very relaxed atmosphere and you had better be hungry or you'll need a to go box! Great food, great service and lots of fun. Heads up: when you walk in you stand in line and order, fix your drink and then find a table. My wife and I split a burrito and built it ourselves. You really can't go wrong: pick an entree (burrito, nachos, etc), pick a meat, pick your toppings as many as you want! All the toppings are great! See the pics, the burrito is enough for two to split easily and my daughter's nachos were enough for a whole family! The chips and salsa are very good! Insider tip: You can order queso as a side but on the side in a cup as cheese dip! Great place to eat! Enjoy!!! read more

I've never ordered something from here and been disappointed. The food is great, the portions are nice, the drinks are stout... You're going to pay for it, but it's worth it! I typically build my own bowl, and the shredded chicken is sooo good. Add all the toppings you want, and you've got a heavy bowl of deliciousness! It's a great spot for take-out, dining alone, or meeting up with friends. It gets noisy, but have the margaritas help you to not mind it. read more

Been a long time customer. I used to go to the mobile location until this one opened up. The food is a little over standard pricing for 2025 but everything is fresh and the staff definitely had mastered their menu. Staff are super nice and for a busy place it's very well organized. One insider trick. Skip the line and order over the phone. Depending on the time of day it gets slammed and you'll be in a line out the door. If you order to go your food will be ready in 10 minutes. I don't drink but I've heard the margaritas are great as well. Just a rock solid place to eat that has never disappointed me. It's not high end but it doesn't have to be. read more

Taco Mama is a quickly growing Alabama chain Mexican influenced restaurants. Please note that I did say Mexican influenced and not Mexican. This does not mean that it is not good. I genuinely enjoy this chain. However, please do not think that you're going to get the most authentic Mexican cuisine here. Taco Mama basically put their spin on a Chipotle like restaurant. It is definitely a fast-casual place type to eat and the food is good. The staff is friendly and, as I have said a few times, the food is good. I would definitely recommend a visit here. read more

Came for a quick lunch on our way to Destin. Started with their plain frozen margarita. I got the sizzle tacos with the Mac and cheese and my husband got one of the big client burrito. I was worried about the tacos because the steak was cut so thin but it had a very good flavor. The Mac and cheese was okay. Probably not the side I should have gotten at a Mexican restaurant. Only complaint about the burrito is that it needed a sauce with it. Highly recommend as a pit stop or just to relax and eat. read more

The nachos are BOMBBBBBB. The best taco place, their chips especially. Homemade, thin and crispy. & incredibly affordable. 10/10

I love Taco Mama! I got the Justice is Served grilled shrimp taco basket with street corn as my side and my husband got The Mayor hard shell taco basket with chorizo refried beans. The beans were pretty average, nothing to write home about. The shrimp tacos were so delicious! They tasted so fresh and I liked that shrimp were actually a decent size. The tacos were a bit cold when they were served but I understand that's from the slaw that's on the tacos. The street corn was super tasty, would definitely get again! The chips are thin and crunchy and the salsa is mild but super flavorful. The vibe of the restaurant is really fun and a bit hipster, I really enjoyed it! Everyone was super friendly and they had people walking around asking if we needed anything and took our trash for us at the end of the meal. The price was a bit steep in my opinion, both baskets totaled $31 and some change. Overall, good tacos with a great vibe and friendly workers! read more

Been coming here off and on since they first opened. Most of the time the food is good although the chips have been stale more times than not lately. Well we tried again last night and the food was delicious all the way around. I had "Mamas Salad" with chicken and chipotle ranch. It was so good and fresh! I've had it in the past and it wasn't very memorable but last night, omg absolutely delicious! Daughter had the nachos and they were piled so high there was no way even two people could finish them. Happy to report the chips were also crispy and fresh! The service from the time we walked in was amazing also. We were given a number while standing in line and asked what table we wanted to reserve ahead of time. This has been needed and glad to see especially when they are busy. We were also asked many times if we needed anything. Glad to see the positive changes at this cute, little taco place. Their margs are and have always been their best feature and highly recommend. read more

Couldn't see the cheese on my "cheesy beef" tacos and I was made to think I was being ridiculous because "the queso soaks into the tortilla" per the wait staff. Weirdly defiant when they could just give me some more queso. The beefy cheesy tacos should probably have more cheese than just enough to soak into the tortilla? Was just a weirdly negative and unnecessary exchange regarding cheese. Thankful an employee stepped in to come up with a "here's some more queso" solution read more

How the mighty have fallen! This used to be my absolute favorite in the area. In the last year I've been served over salted food, soured salsas and worst of all, subpar overall quality food. Their quantities are likely 1/3 or more smaller than they were. For an almost $20 burrito after tax, I'm sorry, it shouldn't be the same size as Taco Bell and it should probably have some popping flavor. This isn't the first time I've been underserved, but it's gotten far more consistent here. Tacos with 1 or 2 pieces of steak and now small burritos that are just not worth their price. Sadly, I used to love their guac - but that's taken the hit too. What once had flavor is literally mashed up avocados in a container. So sad. But hey, if you want an expensive burrito that is 80% rice, and a gamble on whether you'll be toilet bound thanks to salsa past its prime (I was served soured green salsa) , this might be your place! read more

I ordered a Happy Family meal, while in the area visiting my son and his family. I spent $108.00 to feed 6 people and received enough food to feed 3, so a not so Happy Family meal. To say that I spent more to get less, is an understatement. It's very disappointing to spend that kind of money and not receive the amount of food for the price. Ok first off their kid quesadilla would fill any adult! Secondly they do not skimp on the chips and i can't tell you how much that makes me love them! Even if you carry out they still send you home with a lunch sack full of chips!!! I ordered the burrito bowl with everything minus the pickled and fresh jalapeños- the grilled jalapeños are amazing by themselves! This burrito bowl will definitely last for two hungry lunches- maybe order smarter than me and get the lettuce and sour cream on the side so it reheats perfectly the next day! My hubby got The hippie taco and he loved it too! I love the patio seating- open air in Covid is just what the doctor ordered! Oooh I almost forgot! That margarita!!!!
