So far this is also the best restaurant I've been to in Bay Minette by a long shot. The guacamole is almost crunchy with vegetables. The salsa is decent but not life-changing, and the #28 chicken with chorizo is darn good. Does this place measure up to somewhere like Cafe Ixcateco? Maybe not. Tucked away in the shopping center behind Wendy's, this place was a great find as we drove through Bay Minette and needed to stop for lunch. As I walked in, I noticed that their health score is 99. That's impressive. We were greeted kindly and sat in a booth. Our server was very attentive and immediately brought chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was tasty (not too spicy). I ordered the steak quesadilla with rice and beans. My wife ordered the taco, enchilada plate. It came with rice and beans. My daughter ordered the cheese quesadilla. The steak in my quesadilla had a sort of soy sauce flavor, but it was good. My daughter's cheese quesadilla was so packed with cheese that she could only eat 3/4 of it. She said she wished she had ordered a chicken quesadilla instead. My wife liked everything on her plate. There are booths on both sides with tables in the middle floor. People keep coming in waiting fir tables....expanding in dining room and kitchen size might help!! Lucky to get a booth right away and was served some stale tortilla chips and an okay salsa. I let my tortilla chip soak in the salsa to soften it up a bit....could just be a old bad batch of chips? My husband ordered the Carne Asada and it was dry. I ordered a combination plate with a chili releno, beef taco, and beef enchilada. I also ordered an authentic Mexican taco. The authentic Mexican taco was the best of it all and I enjoyed the rice and beans. The chili releno I will never order again...unrecognizable melted and watery cheese and the taste was off from the deep fry attempt. The service was good despite the packed room of customers. I have no idea how in the world this place has as many stars as it does!!! I would give it a ZERO if I could! We have tried it multiple times in order to support a local business, but unfortunately our order has never been correct one single time and the food is never good! We decided we would give it one more try and yet again our order was incorrect and the food was awful!!! I ordered my meal with chicken and it was all beef, no chicken anywhere in site. Not only did it look & smell like something out of a dog/cat food can it tasted exactly like what I would believe cat or dog food would taste like! Ok some improvement from the last few visits. I went with a few coworkers for lunch and ordered the guacamole as an appetizer for us. Wow you get a LOT and it was pretty good and fresh. I got the lunch taco salad with beef and assed HALOPANOS it was pretty tasty. I could barely finish it. Friends got chicken tacos and chicken taco salad. They said it was good. Stopped for lunch. This place is the same as every other Mexican restaurant in Baldwin County- not very good. Service was quick. Salsa was like Pace Picante Sauce from a jar. I had grilled veggie quesadilla with rice. Rice was plain and boring. Quesadilla was also boring and had greasy mushrooms, onions and peppers covered in cheese. Spectacular!! The best Mexican food and service we've had in a long time. I ordered the lunch special chicken fajitas and my husband ordered the #22 that was basically fajitas with shrimp, steak and chicken. We also ordered a tamale on the side. I never made it into Los Patrones when they first opened and boy was that a mistake! I've made it in about three or four times now and I've been impressed each time. The service is a little hit or miss butt when you only have two servers that tends to happen. Prices are good and then food is even better. I would definitely recommend. read more

But I gave one star because we had a gift certificate from restaurant.com , but the "manager/ owner" said we had to have it printed on the paper , therefore he can't accept it, he didn't even approach us or introduce himself , nothing.
