this is my first time visiting Alabama & I just so happen to be staying in Atmore today, & not too far from this restaurant. I actually came here based off a picture I had seen from the previous reviews and I was not let down. Shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Ribeye (cooked medium) was a bit chewy but nothing intolerable. I had the rusty dip as well. It was okay. I've never had chorizo but it was a bit too oily for my liking. Service was just okay, there was no dinner rush but I kept having to ask for basic things like refills, utensils to eat with, etc. Strawberry lemonade frozen margaritas were delicious as well with great prices all around for everything. Still 5 star quality but these few quirks made me give em a 4 star rating. I would definitely return if i get the chance. read more

Food and Service was outstanding; We encountered very friendly staff while visiting and the chips were served warm with salsa. The atmosphere was typical of a small local restaurant, the outside does appear to be a bit runned down and scared my mother a bit, but it was warm and cozy inside and everyone immediately forgot about the outside. read more

We were passing through on our way to OB, and read some great reviews for Acapulco. Husband had no problem choosing the Pick 3 with an enchilada, crispy taco and chili relleno. I love to ask for recommendations so I ordered the Rusty 5...a local favorite consisting of grilled chicken, steak, shrimp over rice and topped with queso. Really great choice! Food was served quickly, portions were big (took some home) and the prices were cheap! Somewhat disappointed in the margarita which was obviously a premixed with added color and sugar. I ordered my food for take out. I asked the server about the ingredients for my order...she stated that there are no refried beans in it. I get back to my office and begin to eat...full of refried beans. The owners may want to be sure the staff actually know what is being served! The salsa for the chips was very thin and lacking flavor...it was pretty much watered down tomato sauce with a few floaters in it. I don't usually give restaurants a second chance whenever things are bad. This is no exception, I will not be returning. read more

I hate I didn't get any pictures but this little Mexican joint is our go to spot when we are headed down to the beach. We stay in Atmore to cut the drive in half - and we always eat here. The food is surprisingly authentic for a small town Mexican joint and the margaritas are pretty decent. read more

This had to be one of the strangest stops on a road trip, which means it surpassed the bonnet of Bonnie, of Bonnie and Clyde fame, and the worlds largest peanut. Described as a Mexican restaurant but with a country lunch buffet, this was just plain confusing. Half the restaurant seemed to reflect the country cooking, the other half looked like a traditional Mexican restaurant. I ordered Chiles Poblanos, which are usually filled with cheese and battered. These were filled but instead of battered they were served with what would best be described as an omelet on top. My daughter asked if they were good, and to be honest, they were. I love Poblanos and I like eggs, so it was like a perfect brunch dish, just not even close to the traditional dish. My mini Yelpers ordered traditional Mexican fare, all good. Service was A-ok. Friendly service and good food. Unlike a lot of to date Mexican resteraunts they offer authentic Mexican dishes and all the tex-mex style favorites so there's something for everybody. We came at lunch time and the service was very fast! read more

I like that the offer more than just traditional Mexican food, especially helpful with kids because if they aren't Mexican lovers they serve burgers, fries and much more. Staff is great! Food is subpar. They say "authentic Mexican" there is nothing authentic about this food. Watered down refried beans, old/brown guacamole, watery queso, "fajitas" are all seasoned with prepackaged taco flavoring. The best part of the meal was the iced tea and the chips were good too. Delicious! Get the dish that comes in the giant lava bowl! Hot shrimp, steak, chicken, chorizo, bacon in one bowl with cheese on top served with tortillas. Kinda like fajitas but so much tastier!!!! The homemade hot sauce really puts it over the top! I will be back! read more

Coming back from Orange Beach, we wanted some good Mexican. I read the reviews and they were good. Talked to locals outside and got the same recommendation. The food was excellent. I had lunch menu of the soft tacos with grilled chicken and the plate was covered! I couldn't eat it all. Chips and salsa were fresh! Guacamole was fresh and delicious! Service was very prompt. This little jewel in downtown Atmore is worth the 7 miles off the interstate for great Mexican food. read more

It doesn't look that great from the outside but the food was great and so was the price! Didn't know what kind of drink I wanted so I told the waitress the things I liked and she made me a custom drink...Amazing!!!! Def worth the stop and much less than the buffet at the casino where we are staying. read more

Excellent place. They used to be in Brewton but they moved to Atmore. We still drive there to eat.

Service was friendly and fast. Food was very bland. No spices anywhere. Got the Acapulco bowl and the meat was tender but had no flavor.
